Class 49
Shinji Kasai
The former Ultimate Firefighter from Class 49.
- Adaptational Backstory Change: In Super Danganronpa Another 2, Shinji never attended Hope's Peak, but here he's part of its long history.
- Career-Ending Injury: Like in canon, he was badly hurt during a fire and eventually had to give up his career, later getting married and getting a job as a security guard, though he still occasionally helps out.
- Happily Married: To a woman named Emi, who he met in the hospital following his injury and was one of his biggest sources of support during his recovery. They married after graduation and had three kids together.
- No Indoor Voice: As Mikan learns firsthand.
- Old Friend: He and Tenmei used to be best friends in Hope's Peak. They're both super ecstatic to see each other again in the Die Free or Live Hard Arc.
- One Degree of Separation: Not only did he save Kanata from the car crash that killed her parents, but he also attended Class 49 alongside Tenmei and Harumi, who was in the Reserve Course at the time.
- Retired Badass: Even decades after his retirement, he still has close ties with the Tokyo fire department and sometimes assists them.
- Shipper on Deck: It's revealed that he was pretty supportive of Tenmei's close relationship with Harumi.
Hanami Watanabe/Hanami Sato
The Former Ultimate Botanist with a gentle nature and golden heart.
- Arranged Marriage: Was revealed to have been in one with Tenmei Nanami. But she wasn't interested in Tenmei as a romantic partner and encouraged him to pursue Harumi.
- Caring Gardener: Hanami genuinely enjoyed botany and was a pleasant person to be around. Provided you weren't a condescending jerk.
- Hair Antennae: She sports these on top of her head.
- Identical Stranger: She bears a strong resemblance to Chiaki despite having no biological relation to her.
- Innocent Flower Girl: Subverted. She's described as well-mannered and loved attending to her flor de mayo. That said, she had zero tolerance for Emina and was quick to take her down a peg.
- Spoiled Sweet: Her family is quite wealthy and she has a 20K heart of gold to boot.
Sakura Sakura/Kasumi Ouma
The Former Ultimate Model and Queen Bee of Class 49 who relished in discord and manipulating others for her own amusement. As an adult, she would vanish and take on a new name, trying to better herself as a person.
- Adaptation Origin Connection: Turns out to be the great-grandmother of Kokichi Ouma, the mischievous pathological liar who would one day become the supposed Ultimate Supreme Leader.
- Alpha Bitch: Rivaling Emina Nijiue, she was regarded as the most dangerous mean girl of her generation for her cruel behavior.
- Berserk Button: She gets incredibly upset when people mention her physical appearance or what she eats. Turns out that was due to her parents forcing her into the lifestyle of a model and limiting what she could eat.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Whenever she destroyed Emina's art projects, she'd shed Crocodile Tears and pretend that she was innocent.
- Evil Versus Evil: Constantly went up against Emina and always came out on top.
- Expy: Of Heather Chandler. A high ranking mean girl who takes sadistic pleasure in hurting others and wears red as her primary color. As an adult, she grew out of it, but partially becomes an Expy of her own great-grandson.
- I Hate Past Me: Like the other Sakuras, she would deeply regret her cruel behavior as an adult, to the point of even changing her name.
- I Have No Daughter!: After the bomb incident, her parents cut ties with Sakura declaring that she wasn't their daughter anymore.
- It Amused Me: She went out of her way to terrorize her class and manipulate students for funsies. Admittedly, it would turn out to have been to blow off some steam, but she admitted she was wrong to do so.
- Repetitive Name: The first DR character with the same double name.
- The Tease: Had a habit of flirting with boys to turn them into submissive servants.
- Uncertain Doom: A few days after she started attending college, she disappeared. Even by 2012, nobody knows where she went or what happened to her, and her parents refused to say a word about it. Harumi worries something terrible might've happened, but she's not sure. Turns out she was still alive and simply changed her name.
- Weight Woe: Heavily implied, if her constantly eating alone and enraged reactions to people asking what she eats or about her figure mean anything. Later confirmed, with her parents and the school forcing her to stay unhealthily thin to be a model.

The Former Ultimate Fashion Designer with a violent temper who lashed out at others in order to hold superiority over them. She gets better when she becomes an adult.
- Berserk Button: Of all the little things that set her temper off, the mention of alcohol is the biggest one.
- Dysfunctional Family: While the details are unknown, Harumi mentioned how Fushimi would always stay over at her friends while doing anything she could to stay away from her home.
- Everyone Has Standards: Even back when she was an Alpha Bitch, Fushimi was revealed to have quite a few standards.
- The mention of alcohol really angers her, hinting that she didn't approve of underaged drinking.
- She hated Emina Nijiue as much as the rest of her classmates, judging by her reaction to hearing her name in the present day.
- Expy: Of Heather Duke. The second in command to Sakura Sakura's Chandler and was just as vicious. She also shares the same green color as the Heather.
- The Fashionista: The Ultimate Gyaru of her generation. Even after she was expelled, Fushimi still holds a position as a professional designer.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: This girl had a very short fuse and was always quick to antagonize others out of fury.
- I Hate Past Me: She admits that she wasn't proud of how horrible she acted in her youth and would like to apologize to those she hurt.
- Self-Made Woman: Takes great pride in being able to create her own fashion company with a very high success rate.
- Suicide Dare: Constantly told people to kill themselves for petty reasons.
Sakura Chigusa/Sakura Arima
The Former Ultimate Cheerleader known for being beautiful, beloved and behaving as bright as a broken bulb.
- Childhood Friends: She and Harumi had known each other since elementary school.
- Does Not Like Men: Heavily suggested. She had many suitors but she was super critical and nitpicked each boy's flaws. She grew out of it with age.
- Dumb Blonde: Fits the stereotype given her airheaded nature and golden locks.
- Expy: Of Heather McNamara. The friendliest of the mean girls who still went along with their schemes. She also has yellow as her color of choice.
- Token Good Teammate: The nicest member of the Sakuras.
- Tomboyness Upgrade: She went from cheerleader to sports teacher.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Her ditzy behavior often got her into trouble and led to arguments among friends.
Mio Yonaga

The Former Ultimate Otokoyaku who fell in love with the theatrics and was a whimsical performer.
- Adaptation Origin Connection: She's the great-grandmother of Angie Yonaga, the deceptive believer who would one day become the Ultimate Artist.
- Cross-Cast Role: Her talent involves taking on theatrical roles for male characters.
- Plucky Comic Relief: Was considered as a class clown who enjoyed a light-hearted atmosphere.
- Wholesome Crossdresser: Played male roles in theater and constantly wore suits to class, and a cheery and playful woman.
Biju Hakoda
The Former Ultimate Hiker with a passion for venturing the outdoors but has yet to master the frontier of social interactions.
- Gentleman Adventurer: He's presented as a calm and approachable man who loves to travel everything, everywhere, all at once.
- Shrinking Violet: A passive young man who wasn't much of a talker.
- Token Minority: He's half-Indian on his mom's side.
Goro Hirabayashi

The Former Ultimate Glassblower who's a sensitive soul with a past desperation for approval.
- Non-Standard Character Design: He's got them big ol' eyes with the white parts, much like Lemillion himself.
- Only Friend: Heavily suggested to be this to Emina Nijiue.
- Shout-Out: He looks like a fusion between Izuku Midoriya and Mirio Togata.
- Straight Gay: In the present, he's married to a man and the two have a daughter.
- "Well Done, Son" Guy: He constantly defended Emina and tried to stay in her good graces in a concerning bid to earn her respect as a fellow artist.
Yuka Kurosaki/Yuka Saihara

The Former Ultimate Saxophonist with a passion for music and was Kyoka Mioda's "Best Friend Forever".
- Adaptation Origin Connection: Another V3 great-grandmother who's related to Shuichi Saihara, an insecure pretty boy who would one day become the Ultimate Detective.
- Best Friend: To Kyoka when they were at Hope's Peak.
- Birds of a Feather: Got along swimmingly with Kyoka thanks to being upbeat, chipper, energetic and with a love for musical instruments.
- Glamorous Single Mother: She's recently divorced and has been doing just fine on her own.
- Idiot Hair: She has one on her head.
Ernesto Gomez
The Former Ultimate Luchador.
- Token Minority: A Mexican student which earned him unwavering racism from Enima.
Ichiro Kashiki
The Former Ultimate Geologist.
- Dating What Daddy Hates: Admits to have married an Egyptian woman which earned the scorn from his parents.
