He had a Umbreon and Electivire as well.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Gary also has an Aerodactyl.
He had the Krabby that was bigger than Ash's, don't forget that.
I doubt Ash is going to capture any of the Galar starters.
Why?
Because "Pokemon (2019)" isn't the "Sword & Shield" adaptation.
It's the "Pokemon GO" adaption. (Just including Galar as well)
So whatever he captures, can be from all over the world we've seen thus far...
(And I suspect that neither of the two are going to capture that Gengar this week...but Koharu.)
Why?
Genre-savviness.
I got leaked images of that new Pokemon!
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Well, looks like Ash is going to meet Leon after all.
And after that, he'll finally get to go to the Desert Ruins after 9 Seasons.
So, will he battle Giovanni at Silph Tower in 10 months? Perhaps 33 months?
EDIT: The first 2 items were posted on Serebii late Friday. The last item is pure speculation based on the 2nd item.

Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.Donald, where'd you get the leaks/information about that from?
Well, about the latest episode:
It is really nice to see an example of a normal school-life for kids who doesn't want to be pokemon trainers in the slightest. Much needed insight.
And I heavily suspect that Gengar might have some serious abandonment-issues, judging from the scornful glares it gave Koharu and Yamper. Also, base don how it only really attacked people with their pokemon present, that Gengar as a species itself is a "trade-pokemon" and needs to trade hands once just to evolve. It might have been lashing out as a way to went on its own problems.
Also, still firmly believe that Koharu, not the "Dynamic Duo" will be the one that ends up catching it in the end of her sub-plot.
If Koharu was a usual Recurring Character, Gengar would have been adopted that episode. Note that I didn't say "caught"; think about how Mimey and Delia were prior to this season.
On a side note, as I was watching the Super Bowl, I felt that the (eventually) winning coach had a few similarities to our recently crowned Champion of Alola. I read this piece by SBNation, and I can add a few more similarities...
Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.Just gonna throw this out there: Random Guy 2013 has the best comment on this Sunday's matchup.
Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.Today's ep was pretty good. Lance Vs. Leon was a entertaining battle and it did its job of hyping Leon up as the main character of this season. Ash also recognized Lance and he used the Red Gyarados so there was also nice continuity there for old fans. TR's scenes with the Drednaw and Bellsprout were hilarious too.
Next week is Ash vs. Leon where Ash will surely lose, but it seems pretty obvious set-up for Ash to eventually beat Leon at the end of the saga, similar to the Ash Vs. Kukui match at the end of SM.
Now here's the bigger question: who's gonna catch that Dreadnaw: Ash, Go, Team Rocket, or Leon?
I really hope its Ash who catches it. Ash's journey with Mighty Glacier/Stone Wall Pokemon started off decently with Muk Snorlax, has been rough between Torkoal, Torterra (though people tend to ignore Grotle's wins), Palpatoad, who is a bit over hated but got mostly better with Goodra and Meltan/Melmetal.
Ash catches turtle Pokemon, so i think it would pretty sick for him to catch it.. Plus, him having a Pokemon that'll eventually learn AQUA BREAK would be awesome.
I'm opting for "E: None of the Above".
If Leon was a "main character of this series", then Hop would be a companion.
This first cour has (literally) been all over the map in terms of setting and the only concrete plots to date are Go's quest to catch them all to be worthy of Mew and the starting-to-be-not-so-simple life of Koharu.
Side note on the latter: Gengar will be returning in 4 episodes and, from the preview pull, will be engaging in a bit of Demonic Possession... If Hop was going to be a Companion, the next few episodes would not have announced Go, Gengar, and Ash as focus characters.note
If we were going to have Galar as a focus region, then we would have started that a month or two ago. Alternately, presuming that Go represents Pokémon GO, we should have had this season, which would introduce us to Go prior to him and Ash going to Galar for an extended mission, 6 months to a year earlier. Working out of Kanto during the first half of 2019 would have been more justifiable than the present.
Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.About time the Rocket Trio got a pokedex of their own. James' cards can only work for so long before getting outdated.
That said, despite the initial response on the gacha, Bellsprout was the perfect mon for the job at hand, until the opponent got much bigger than it could handle. Actually surprised to see that Team Rocket's standards for "strong" pokemon would include it in its reserves and rooster.
That said, I do hope Team Rocket does capture something during this season that can be gigamaxed, (beyond Meowth), since I'm not so sure how it would turn out with a abnormal talking feline in comparison to the regular ones.
Okay, they said 8 champions battled in this tournament, so who represented Alola if not Ash?
Also, Pokemon can randomly Gigantamax by themselves (then again, Snorlax did the same thing)?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM Drafts....I have doubts about them letting Team Rocket Dyna or Gigantamax.
It's probably a pretty big I win button and we all know that can't happen for TR.
I'm not totally ruling it out, because for years we were saying the same for Ash, but still.
One Strip! One Strip! If TR gets it, so will Ash. It balances itself out.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Maybe Alola wasn't represented. It is a new League after all and the de facto equivalent to Lance, Cynthia, etc. is going to be a father in the near future. Plus, I don't thinnk that Cynthia was in the episode either. Conversely, there are several other regions (of Earth) yet to be tapped; the writers may be going the PWT route of bringing in persons presumably from those yet-to-be-seen regions.note
Still, it would have been nice to have a "Junior Champions League" as well to get all of the recent Regional Tourney Champs like Ash together. Alain is recent enough to have him represent Kalos. If Iris would have stayed in Unova rather than chasing dragons hither and yon, she could have had her long-awaited reappearance as well, alluding to her in-game post in B2W2, with being a Tourney Champ as the first step on that path. I'd even bring back either Harrison , Paulnote , or Gary as a Champion by way of one of the Home Regions.note
And let me reiterate: If we do not have Ash's Pikachu Dynamaxing with Ash on his shoulder, it would contend with the recent bus shortage for the wasted opportunity of the series.
If this translation is correct Ash is not the Champion of Alola, but the Champion of the Alola League. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=YMMV.PokemonAnime
"** Following Ash's victory in the Alola League, a common sentiment among certain fans has been to refer to him as a Champion, putting him on par with estabilished game ones such as Lance and Cynthia, and expressed frustration over the fact that the following series doesn't appear to directly acknowledge it. Thing is, as clarified by the well-known translator Dephender, this is born from a misunderstanding of what Ash's title actually means. Ash is consistently referred to as the Champion of the Alola League, while in the past Champions were consistently referred to in Japanese as the Champions of the X Region, and the way Ash has been referred to doesn't have a prior example with in-game regions. Considering the fact that even in the last few episodes of Sun & Moon Ash is allowed to leave the region without much fanfare and he didn't appear to gain any responsibilities towards the region, the title seems to more closely match up being just a League Conference Winner (such as Tobias and Alain) or the very similar Orange League Champion title (which, much like Alola's, didn't come with responsibilities nor taking over a position of authority)."

The Protomen enhanced my life.Huh, fascinating that.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsIndeed, contrast that with when he completed the Battle Frontier challenge. He was offered a position as a Frontier Brain, which he turned down.
New episode you have to have registered for the world tournament and start from the bottom 1000 and keep winning to raise in ranks. Ash and gmax Pikachu lost to Leon and gmax charizard but now ash wants to enter the world tournament and keep winning
So Ash's goal now is basically him competing PvP during their travels?
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’
Just Blastoise, Nidoking and Arcanine, honestly.
Wake me up at your own risk.
