Video Examples Quality Control

The new "Studying Anime Girl" entry for Driven to Suicide has a few problems for me:

• It's a good chunk of the actual video: (1:28 for the video here, 1:50 for the YouTube video)
• There's no real heads-up warning that there's going to be sensitive content from the thumbnail. Given, it's an anti-suicide PSA, but the actual video still gives a warning on the thumbnail regardless.

The "I'M AT SOUP" video at Cloudcuckoolander is the entire skit.

The skit was originally a single scene in a longer episode, so I think that one is fine.

Oh, really? I thought Soup was its own separate thing. The more you know.

Controllable Helplessness's videos are bizarre. It's essentially the same video twice, and I don't see how either fits.

Based on the description, I would guess that any button one presses during that sequence has the same outcome, forcing the player into a particular action.

I'm almost sure that's a different trope, though.

I’m sorry for being being that guy, but for the third time we have a very explicit NSFW example on H-Game, a page that shouldn’t even have video examples by its very nature. Can we do something about that now?

I agree, that page should not have any video examples.

Just consider No Lewdness, No Prudishness. Some NSFW sex stuff is okay for this wiki, but video examples are way more explicit than written words.

I'd be okay with adding H-Game to the list of blanket-banned pages.

I know about No Lewdness, No Prudishness. My reason is that the content of the video example itself is, again, very explicit and thus violates the rules.

I merely noted the policy to explain my vote for cutting the video example. The thing is that we as regular tropers have no power over it. This action requires moderators.

BTW, the video example on that page is now gone.

I've noticed that some videos when uploaded don't have a thumbnail designed when it's been uploaded.

You see I've been trying to do a thumbnail for a video I am planning on uploading but it just shows TV Trope blocks.

I noticed on Complaining About People Not Liking the Show, there’s a video of George Wood’s review of Donkey Kong Country. It seems kind of close to a Real Life example, imo. What do you guys think?

It appears that the example for No Sympathy involving the episode "Thomas and the Guard" has been posted twice. They have different descriptions.

Just realized that the Jreg example on Some Anvils Need To Be Dropped that I brought up earlier is, in fact, the entire video, and needs to be removed anyway for that reason.

There are some duplicate video examples slipping through the cracks recently. Strike Episode (Trouble In The Shed) has been posted twice. I've marked mine with a UK mark because it's the UK narration and the other is from the US Version.

I don't see a reason to exclude tiktok videos specifically, but that particular video seems to be the entire work, so it'll have to go for that reason.

Tiktoks are so short that any of them would most likely be the entire work.

Ah yes. That didn't cross my mind untill now.

I'm still asking for thoughts on the George Wood video example that I brought up earlier.

It doesn't specifically target anyone, but it's still a "real life" example.
