Someone recently changed the caption on Even Evil Has Standards from:

to:

I should revert, right?

Silver and gold, silver and gold

I'd say so.

(Annoyed grunt)

Revert. It's basically saying the same thing, but the new one gives me, like, "Oh my god The Jonkler is soooo scary!" vibes. It's less punchy.

Just reverted it, citing this thread.

I actually kind of like the changed version, if only cuz the two-sentence version of the original is less punchy (and "the American way" bit feels corny, though maybe that's the point, especially if meant as a Superman allusion).

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

I like the original version, but without the second sentence.

The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.

For Prematurely Grey-Haired I suggested:

"Having most of your family brutally murdered in front of you messes with your head in more ways than one."

Following ~Willbyr's suggestion of reworking the old caption but the thread timed out. Just was wondering if people think it works or if I need to make the first pot hole more succinct?

Yeah that does work better (I've left brutally in because he and his family were also tortured the murders weren't quick)

I think either the second or third quote works, but I'm leaning on the latter.

Looks good to me. I also support your suggestion at (x3), though I would replace the link Tragic Backstory with a Dark and Troubled Past one. Granted, that is a small nitpick on my end.
