This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

Agreed, the second quote is more demonstrative.
I've re-formatted the Raul Julia "quote" to just be the first line of the description.
The old page quote from Real Robot Genre:
It was deleted citing "removed link to blatan self-promotion". The page history doesn't go far back enough to show who added the quote to say who added it so can't say if the case.
The current page quote:
I feel the old one did a better job so am asking if we can verify the self-promotion allegation. Don't think the current quote conveys the "Real" part. Thoughts?
I wonder if this Colbert Report quote would work on the main page of The Red Stapler:
Vince Gilligan: There is now.
(I can pothole to Breaking Bad somewhere if needed)

she/her/they | wall | sandboxFrom Theatre.Einstein On The Beach:
Funny, but also feels like it's complaining a little (as the opera sent Frasier to sleep).
Thoughts?
That's a great quote.
Agreed, though my bigger issue is that it doesn't really say anything about the work.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdCut the quote as superfluous and subtly complainy.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Potholes aren't supposed to go in page quotes at all. I think you can put something like "(regarding Breaking Bad)" after the attribution if context is needed like that.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.How's this for Foil.Live Action Films?
That's good!
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdI was looking at the Surprise Witness quote and I was wondering if the My Cousin Vinny bit from the quotes page would be an improvement over the current main page one.
Edit: Just noticed that Reasonable Request Rejected uses most of the same quote...hm.

So Spyro the Dragon is getting a Complete Monster page so here's some quote suggestions for it?
Bianca: Uh, um, won't that kill them?
The Sorceress: (laughs) That doesn't matter! As long as I can still collect their wings!
Bianca: What?! All this time, you only wanted them for their wings?!
The Sorceress: Of course, you ignorant girl. I need them for a spell, so I can live forever!
Bianca: Uh-uh, wait, wait a second, a s-a spell?!
The Sorceress: What did you think I was going to do with all those dragons; open a zoo?
Bianca: You said just keeping them in our world was enough. You never said you had to kill them!
The Sorceress: I don't have to kill them. It just stops them from wriggling so much.
Bianca: You're terrible! I can't believe I ever listened to you! (walks away)
The Sorceress: Stupid, insolent brat. I'll take care of her as soon as I finish off that dragon.
Spyro: "No! I don't believe that!"
Malefor: "Of course you don't. But you have fulfilled your destiny nonetheless. In my time, I was stopped... prevented from completing my quest. But you... you have carried the flame... be it through your own will or not. And soon, the world will be destroyed, you along with it."
Ignitus: Malefor... By our ancestors... What is that?
Malefor: The Destroyer has commenced it's journey to form the ring of annihilation. At the end of his journey, the Belt of Fire will spread across the surface of this world in a torrent of fire and ash. There will be no escape!
Hunter: I'm afraid so... just shortly after your disappearance. He struck quickly, fuelled by hate and malice, reclaiming the throne at the temple which through some dark magic he now suspends above the land, a symbol of his dominance. We've been at war ever since and every day his forces grow stronger... and ours lose hope.
Master Eon: Quickly Portal-Master! The Darkness is free, you must find a way to destroy it before it can threaten every world in the universe![[...]The malevolent reign of The Darkness must come to an end or we are all lost!

Oh, Mr. Kennedy, you entertain me. To show my appreciation, I will help you awaken from your world of clichés.I like any but my favorite is the Sorceress quote and Malefor's first!
Tonight I dine on monkey soup.I like the Sorceress quote.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI Like Sorceress and Malefor’s first two quotes

I'm cool with either the Sorceress quote or the first two Malefor ones.
First one is my pick.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsYahtzee's latest review contains an absolutely perfect quote for And Your Reward Is Clothes. I think this much more concisely encapsulates the idea than the existing quote:

I know my momentum exactly.I find myself agreeing that that's a better quote.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.Racist Grandma. The slur might bother some people but I would understand it if the quote were strong since it demonstrates the racism. The problem is I think I don't think it demonstrates the "grandma" part enough without the character being denoted as "elderly woman" giving context. I feel like this has come up before.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. So we good with the first Sorceress quote for Spyro?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsThe Sorceress' quote is a little overlong, frankly. I prefer Malefor's first quote if only because it's more compact.
Unrelatedly, T. Rexpy lacks a quote and I was thinking of moving up this one from the examples:
Thoughts?
x3 Is this a better quote? I found it in a folder
- Jack: Grandma, we love you,
Grandma, we do,
Though you may be far away,
We think of you,
And one day when we're older,
We'll look back and say...
Miles: In retrospect, she was actually quite racist, wasn't she?
Also I found a better quote for Office Sports, the current doesn't say anything about an office and barely anything about sports. How's this for a replacement:
Stonecypher: When I stood on Mike's shoulders and I put that electric pencil sharpener on top of the pile, we both knew we could never have done it alone.

My favorite sci fi enemies are the giant sexy depressed womenI like it.
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
I think either a regular line or a caption as I see that space is unused, unless it looks too long for that.
Current page quote for Why Are You Not My Son?:
Peter Parker: We help each other, Mr. O.
Norman Osborn: Now, now, Peter, modesty doesn't become men like us. Smart, driven, responsible. Self-made.
Peter Parker: I'm... more of a work in progress.
Norman Osborn: [with a significant glance at Harry] At least you're making progress.
The current mostly only implies the trope and relies on scene descriptions to try and make it more explicit, while I think the Ultimate Spider-Man quote is more blatant and drives the point home better naturally.
Peter: What do you want? Let me go. Did you just say "son"?
Goblin: The son I've always wanted. Harry and I share a few recessive genes, but nothing more. You're smarter, more driven. And as a wimpy, defenseless kid, you appreciate power. You can be a greater creation than the late, great Spider-Man.
