This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

to both and.
The page quote for Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl doesn't mention genders at all. Even the attribution gives no info because Mako is a gender-neutral name.
A few years ago, I added this quote to Violin Scam.
B.J.: Yeah. Got it off a patient. Twenty bucks! Goes for $150.
Hawkeye: The patient had to send the money home, right?
B.J.: How'd you know?
Hawkeye: His kid outgrew his tonsils and needs a set of new ones? The cat needs a "whiskerectomy?"
B.J.: I got taken?
Hawkeye: We gotta do something about that apple-pie-and-hot-dog face.
I felt it reflected the scam aspect as BJ is scammed by a patient. It was removed today claiming it isn't.
Thoughts?

I put the Toledo quote in.
looks fine to me
Violin Scam has two con artists working together, but this looks like one person conning a naive guy who thought his $20 was going towards some good.
Those are typical versions. I recall in the the Discworld series, Moist vonLipwig would run these scams solo with the fake ring version.
And even if there is only one conman in this grift against BJ, does it take away from the type of scam which this one reflects? Had there been two men involved, his words after the fact would make them a better fit?
The quote page for https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Anime/CreamyMamiTheMagicAngel has the last part of the theme song first in unromanized Japanese and then in English. I dont think this is kosher.
I posted this before but I post it again so it wont get buried.

Grail Knight: The last of three brothers who swore an oath to find the Grail and to guard it.
Indiana Jones: That was seven hundred years ago.
Grail Knight: A long time to wait.
It’s generally preferred not to have the pic and quote from the same source, actually. Not a rigid rule, but will likely get replaced quickly.
SoundCloudUnder the Sea's is the Trope Namer, but the page falls under This Index Is Not an Example, so it's not a good quote.
I'd like to apologize for all this.Back in September RWBYraikou888 changed the quote on Thomas & Friends with no edit reason, from one of the classic songs:
Hip, hip, hip, hip, hooray,
Chugga-Chugga, Chug Chug,
Chuff, Chuff, Chuff,
He rides along the way,
And when you hear that whistle,
It can only be one train,
Our favorite little engine,
Thomas is his name."
to the HIT era theme song:
shunting trucks and hauling freight
Red, and green, and brown, and blue,
they're the Really Useful Crew
All with different roles to play,
'round Tidmouth Sheds or far away
Down the hills and 'round the bends,
Thomas and his friends
I personally prefer Thomas’s Anthem as I find it more iconic and memorable to most fans and the general public, and the ERC is from one of a few Audience Alienating Eras (even if I grew up with it).

The quote on Dramatic Drop sounds more like a threat than actually describing the trope. None of the alternatives on the subpage are any good. Cut?
Yeah, that can be pulled.
I was going through QuoteSource. The Bible to make sure it was up-to-date and I noticed a couple of quotes are on multiple pages.
Jeremiah 31:15 is on both Death Wail and One-Woman Wail
Proverbs 16:18 is on both Pride and Pride Before a Fall.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 is on both History Repeats and The Oldest Ones in the Book.
So, per the Real Life Maintenance thread, the quote on Female Misogynist (a trope marked NRLEP for being "Too Controversial") should be cut to keep the thing about tropes marked "Too Controversial" to prevent edit wars over who is or isn't an example, or simply name-call or shame people consistent.
Just checking here just to be safe.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."The current quote for Violence is the Only Option isn't terrible, but I think it could be better.
I don't think this quote quite captures the trope. It's a quote advocating violence, even if it's only advocating it in a context of self-defense. The trope isn't that violence is the best option or the right option or the most intelligent option, but the only option. It's implicit that characters subject to the trope would really rather avoid violence, including violence in self-defense. Therefore I don't think a quote advocating violence is ideal.
I think a better quote would be something that tries to capture a character's slow, sinking dread as they realize they absolutely have no choice but violence, and it's something they really do not want to do, even in self-defense. I think this quote from Disco Elysium would be a better choice:
Mercenary Leader: You're right. But you see...
He pauses and smiles
Mercenary Leader: I want it to end in bloodshed.

We're in favor of cutting that quote, yes.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Romantic Plot Tumor has a quotes page but no quote. Looking through the page these are my personal favorites for it:
I think the Pearl Harbor one is the best personally. Any opinions on which to use?

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI think the third quote fits the trope the best, though it's a bit long. Can we cut the first sentence? (I think the Roger Ebert is the funniest one, but doesn't fit the trope as well, b/c the romance isn't a "tumor" in Pearl Harbor; it's the main plot.)
@ Heart Of Stone: I'm confused how the new quote fixes the problem you raise. The quote you recommend has the same issue as the Malcolm X quote: the speaker favors violence rather than being forced into it.

The Detective is the one the trope applies to, not the Mercenary Leader. Maybe a follow-up line from the former might help clarify that.
Hmmm. Maybe it's not as clear as I thought, being familiar with the story and the context. The Player Character (The Detective) is the one who wants to avoid violence and is being threatened by someone who is going to force him into a fight.
Yeah, it comes off as the Detective still wants to avoid violence, but the Mercenary is urging him on. But I think your initial analysis is right: both quote treat violence as the preferred option rather than the only option.
