This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

I think this quote from the quotes page, shortened and slightly modified, works the best:
Bart: Uh oh. I smell another cheap cartoon crossover.
Homer: (enters the room) Bart Simpson, meet Jay Sherman, the critic.

That works.
The current quote on Lampshade Hanging is actually Discussed Trope.
Check out my forum game: Rate the above YMMV.The quote on Big-Hearted Bigfoot is way too long.
Maybe we could cut it down to just this bit?
The quote on Piano Drop (which is today's featured trope!) needs additional context if the potholes were to be removed. Because it's a barely-fitting quote from BtVS, it may be worth replacing it entirely.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. How about this one?
Also, the quote from Scars Are Forever seems a bit laconic, I was thinking about replacing it with this (maybe just the first two lines are enough)
"The scar never heals. It's like a medal that nobody can take from you"
"Why does the scar not heal?"
"Because it's a scar, you can't just wash it away. It's scary, but it's a good thing too".

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upI like your proposals.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.x6 I think the Lampshade Hanging quote is fine because of the "improbable fiction" part. But if it fits Discussed Trope (which has no quote) better, I feel these two quotes from the Quotes page can replace it:
The Who Framed Roger Rabbit quote is wrong. The line is actually ”Just like a toon to drop a safe on a guy's head.”
Is it okay if I fix it?
So, I said I would do this back when I launched Vampire Variety Pack, but I never really got around to it...
The current page quote for Our Vampires Are Different would, I think, work better for Vampire Variety Pack. VVP still lacks a quote of its own, and OVAD has a whole page full of them which could replace the current main one. My proposal is this:
- Move the current page quote for Our Vampires Are Different to Vampire Variety Pack:
- There are as many types of vampire as there are disease; some are virulent and deadly, and some just make you walk funny and avoid fruit.
- Move this quotenote from the Our Vampires Are Different quote page to the main page as a replacement:
- People have different standards when it comes to arguing what is and isn't a vampire...
Absolutely (though I already did it, just in case)
Sorry, English isn't my native language and I couldn't find a subtitle version, so I trusted my hearing
Yeah, I like it

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upWould this be an okay quote for Kensington Gore, or is it too short and vague?
Basic Instinct's quote is kind of skeevy (it's not from the work itself and is a comedian drooling over how hot lesbian sex scenes are); should it be removed?

Seems decent to us.
We vote yes on deleting it.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I like the proposed Kensington Gore quote, but I do think it's vague. I had to follow the link to remind myself what the trope was, as I didn't get it from the quote. Having read the trope description, I like the quote. So, I suppose the question is: how much heavy lifting does the page quote need to do? If you need to understand the trope in action from the quote itself, I don't think it's quite achieving that. If it's fine for the quote to work when paired with the trope's description, it may work.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. An important part of Paper-Thin Disguise is that, somehow, the disguise works. However, the page quote shows the disguise not working, which is misuse.
The quotes page also needs to be looked at, is there a separate thread for that?
I'd like to apologize for all this.Is the quote for Midsomer Murders kinda complainy.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."It is. I'm down to pull, if nothing better is found.
I'd like to apologize for all this.Mike Hammer has two page quotes.
Both of them are either inherently negative or imply negativity enough to literally pothole Sturgeon's Law in it, so I nuked them both.
It's a future page, but this draft is looking for a quote, so if anyone has one please post it there.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)The quote on Happiness in Slavery comes from a real-life source, and not like in a "commenting on its usage in fiction" way, despite the trope being NRLEP. There are a lot of options on the quotes page, though none leap out at me.
SoundCloudHonestly, I think the VeggieTales quote illustrates the trope the best.
I went ahead and deleted the quote. In the future, if you stumble across a page quote that explicitly refers to real life in a trope that doesn't allow real life examples, you can just remove it on sight. It is against the rules of the page, so it should not be there period.
Also, I'm doing one last call concerning the quote for Jerkass, as explained in this post. I have one vote for the first and second quote each, so if someone else votes for one of those, I'll go ahead and change it.
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
Obvious Crossover Method and Crossover have the same quote, which fits Obvious Crossover Method better IMO. Does anyone have any ideas for a replacement? Nothing on Quotes.Crossover seems quite right.
