Dwarf Fortress has plenty of unusual mechanics stemming from its sheer dedication to detail. One of my favorites is the simple fact that creatures with eyelids will remove dirt and grime on their eyes by blinking. If they don't have eyelids anymore (say, because it was sliced off during a fight), they will soap their eyes out if able.

Other interesting mechanics include:

• You can revive skin tissues and tufts of hair through necromancy.
• Forgotten Beasts made out of soft materials (e.g. ash, snow) are extremely brittle and die very quickly to slashing weapons.
• There's a werebeast for almost every species. Yes, even werechinchillas.

You ever feel like you’re unsure of whether or not you deserve to be loved and happy, be it in a relationship or in general? That’s what we’re dealing with here — a fear that you aren’t fit for it for one reason or another. I wouldn't say I didn't expect to like it, but Hazbin Hotel kinda exceeded my expectations. I wasn't expecting to dislike it, again, but I didn't think it would sell me. Also I didn't first see it recently (I saw the pilot when it came out) so idk if it counts

Kotoura-san's Downer Beginning. It is everything you'd need from an opening and more: an intro to the protagonist, a detailed look into the setting/society, and established motivations. It's probably the most well-directed first 10 minutes I've ever seen, period.

The Snowman is a very simple short but it's so beautiful, and it really gets you in the Christmas mood. Looking on the page, it doesn't seem to be underrated in Britain where it's from, but it's definitely underrated here in the States.

I don't keep up with fashion trends, so I don't know whether this is still a thing or not, but I'd say pre-ripped jeans. Normal wear and tear looks natural. Pre-ripped just looks like the wearer is trying too hard.
