Pikeyo is a short-lived sprite-series made by Aitor Molina Vs. in 2010 to parody tropes from Hispanic Web Animation and more mainstream sprite-series like Super Mario Bros. Z, Bowser's Kingdom, PoGonYuTo, Vete A La Versh or Flash Estudio. It got Cut Short on 2012 in favour of Red Leo Media, which was similar but Denser and Wackier, and eventually led to the Revengeverse.
The premise has some children in Purgatory and Limbo... doing nothing in particular. Child Prodigy Mcboy Curtis tells his friend Peter "Pikeyo" Kent Johnson to test a Scrappy Weapon that presumably changes personalities... but actually changes his design... Yes, is that kind of show. If received a little cult following due to being one of the first sprite-series not to be based in videogames or anime and being focused on comedy instead of action.
In 2020, it was confirmed the series would be reuploaded and re-edited to avoid copyright in YouTube with a one-off Revival called "Pikeyo and the search of the fucking orbs". This playlist has al the available episodes and extras.
OH SERGIO, TROPES:
- Black Comedy: Expect plenty of Vulgar Humor and Obligatory Swearing.
- Breakout Character: Gary Faceman and Captain Pelmazo, the second not even having a proper presentation in the show, appeared in Colossus Battle representing this show.
- Pelmazo goes even further being a character in Davidsillo Animations' Hikairi and this incarnation appearing in The Christmas Revenge. It is not clear if they are the same Pelmazos.
- Johannes Lázaro or Lasaro from the specials became Voltiok Atomic's Author Avatar for a while and even popped in some early installmens of Aitor Molina Vs. and Infernals & Lemons.
- Sergio & Iñigo are fairly remembered for their Catchphrase.
- Not from Pikeyo itself, but Reddy the Wizard is by far the most recognizable pre-Revengeverse character.
- Catchphrase: "OH SERGIO A GHOST!!!"
- Character Title: Peter "Pikeyo" Kent Johnson.
- Child Prodigy: Mcboy creates silly inventions like a "supertank" that changes personalities and a teleporting condom.
- Christmas Special: Christmas Holocaust.
- Deconstructive Parody: The characters are always in pixelated enviroments wondering about fighting or not. They mostly don't.
- Early-Bird Cameo: Everything related to Captain Pelmazo.
- Early Installment Character-Design Difference: An in-universe example is Mcboy having his design updated after being shot with his own weapon.
- Fun with Acronyms: Pikeyo is the name of the main character Peter Kent Johnson.
- Halloween Episode: The Halloween Revenge 1 and 2.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Gary Faceman shoots Mcboy with the weapon he made.
- Makes Just as Much Sense in Context: The entire show.
- Obligatory Swearing: The original run seems to work this way.
- Purgatory and Limbo: The characters live in the Limbo, but it is never explored.
- Recurring Extra: Sergio & Iñigo have different roles in every appearance even if they are always the same characters.
- Revival: "Pikeyo and the search of the fucking orbs".
- Sequel Series: Averted with "Pikeyo and the search of the fucking orbs" because it is a one-off.
- Short-Runners: Before the one-shot revival there were only two canon episodes between 2011 and 2012, a Christmas Special in 2010 and two Halloween Episodes in 2010 and 2011: The Halloween Revenge 1 and 2.
- Sir Swearsalot: Pikeyo himself swears more than the rest of the cast.
- Spiritual Successor: To Mothman The Animated Series.
- Then it got one in Red Leo Media.
- Stick Figure Animation: It was going to be one, so characters like Sergio & Iñigo are stickfigure-sprites.
- Subverted Kids' Show: If the concept of a kid in blue with weird friends in the Limbo sound familiar, picture it with Black Comedy.
- Super Weapon, Average Joe: Peter and Gary with the "supertank".
- Talking Animal: Apestoso, Mcboy's dog.
- Vulgar Humor: Most of the jokes rely on swears and being an awful person.
