Mario & Tari have to defend the MULTIVERSE from the BEEGEST threat ever.

In this special non-canon episode, a being known as the Grand Mario has rallied Marios from multiple universes in a bid to take over the multiverse out of revenge for being the butt of everybody's jokes. Now the only ones who can stop Grand Mario and his revolution are Mario, Tari, and...Tari.

  • A Day in the Limelight: A long overdue one for Tari.
  • Adaptational Badass: Meta Runner's Tari is much bolder than she is in her home series, not being afraid to torture SMG4 Mario under the assumption that he's part of the revolution and rarely hesitating to kick ass.
  • Adaptation Personality Change:
    • Meta Runner Tari is a good deal more confident and mature than she is in her home series. While she chalks it up to Character Development, since she started out more meek and unsure of herself just like SMG4 Tari, she still has moments of vulnerability and uncertainty that aren't shown here.
    • In Meta Runner, Skybreakers Tari is just regular Tari as she appears in another game. Here, she's a Hot-Blooded Pirate Girl with an almost unrecognizably coarse voice.
  • After the End: In this episode, Meta Runner Tari's home, Silica City, was destroyed by the Grand Mario.
  • Bait-and-Switch: While trying to explain to Tari what's going on, Mario sees a portal open and freaks out and flees. It turns out it's Meta Runner Tari.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Skybreakers Tari stops threatening the heroes when Beta Tari offers her some cookies.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: After being terrified for the whole episode and having her kindness denied by the enemy, Beta Tari has had enough.
Beta Tari: PEACE WAS NEVER AN OPTION.
  • Breather Episode: This episode was released in between the first and second episodes of the Lawsuit Arc.
  • Canon Discontinuity: A disclaimer at the start of the video tells the viewer that nothing in the episode is canon, not just to the events of SMG4, but Meta Runner as well.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Beta Tari definitely seems to have a few screws loose compared to the other Taris.
  • Continuity Nod: The Grand Mario refers to all of the Marios as "universe avatars."
  • Covers Always Lie: Bootleg Mario (or 7 GRAND DAD) is seen on the thumbnail, but isn't in the actual video.
  • Decomposite Character: In Meta Runner, Skybreakers Tari is simply the regular Tari's Digital Avatar. Here, she's her own separate Tari with a distinct personality and voice.
  • Decoy Protagonist: The episode begins with the usual focus on Mario before giving the spotlight to the Taris, and after Mario and the Taris team up with the Skybreakers Tari, he gets abducted by Grand Mario, causing the rest of the episode to fully focus on the Taris saving the day and ending with them forgetting to bring Mario back. In addition, the video ends with SMG4's avatar thanking the audience for watching the episode about Meta Runner Tari and then showing a promo for the final season of Meta Runner.
  • Dramatic Unmask: Once Grand Mario successfully captures the mainline Mario, he reveals that he's going to use all his Marios to create The Metaverse, taking off his mask to reveal Mark Zuckerberg (or rather, "Zuccerberg").
  • Fake Crossover: With Meta Runner, as the episode's events don't coincide with either series due to Meta Runner and Skybreakers Taris being separate from the main one instead of her Digital Avatar.
  • Kryptonite Factor: SMG4 Tari somehow knows that Zuccerberg is weak to alien repellent, because he's actually a tiny alien in a giant suit with Zuccerberg's head.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Played with. While Mario and different Marios from alternate universes are featured in the episode, it's more of a Day in the Limelight for Tari.
  • Oh, Crap!: Way too many times to count but particular ones include when Mario wakes up at the start and sees all the other Marios and when Meta Runner Tari sees SMG4 Mario for the first time.
  • Something We Forgot: After vanquishing Zuccerberg and sending the enemy Marios back to their own universes, the Taris all walk through portals to their own universes without realizing they left SMG4 Mario behind.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Mark Zuckerberg is called "Zuckerberg" here, likely for copyright reasons.
  • Stock Sound Effects: Mario's "Hahahahahaha!" from Super Mario 64 when he falls into lava or cold water is utilized a lot here including twice in a row, first when SMG4 Mario sees the 8-Bit Mario and then when, SMG4 Mario, SMG4 Tari and Meta Runner Tari are fleeing.
  • Suddenly Voiced: Downplayed. SMG4 Tari speaks with recycled voice lines in most episodes, but here she is fully voiced along with the other Taris.
  • Take That!: This episode takes a crack at Mark Zuckerberg pushing for The Metaverse by making him into a Multiversal Conqueror who assembles Marios from every universe to build his ideal world.
  • Tempting Fate: In the Super Mario Bros. world, Mario jumps along the blocks and brags he's invincible. Cue him getting hit by a Koopa Paratroopa.
  • Token Heroic Orc: Out of all of the Marios abducted by Grand Mario, SMG4 Mario is the only one who doesn't want to be part of the revolution, forcing the other Marios to hunt him down.
  • Unexplained Recovery: SMG4 Mario is traumatized from almost being sniped in the pingas in the TF2 segment. Upon arrival in the Super Mario Bros. World, he's back to normal (relatively speaking).
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: SMG4 Tari's response to Mario falling to where she is via portal and getting up and looking around while panting is to look surprised at first before happily greeting Mario and asking him if he wants to play with her and Little Archibald (her rubber ducky).
  • Vocal Evolution: SMG4 Tari's new voice clips are noticeably softer and childlike than the others in comparison.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Meta Runner Tari gives her fellow Taris a pep talk about how much stronger they are than they think, because she used to be the exact same way before learning her own strength.
