SMG4 gets into some beeg legal trouble...
Mario is dragged against his will back to Nintendo by Lawyer Kong to make yet another game of his franchise, and there's nothing he and SMG4 can do about it... until Meggy decides to take a stand and rescue Mario from the company, who are determined to bring him back by force.
The first episode of The Lawsuit Arc and the first appearance of Lawyer Kong.
Tropes:
- All for Nothing: Lawyer Kong manages to coerce Mario to come with him with help of a DMCA... just in time for Shigeru Miyamoto to reveal that he found another star in Luigi, forcing him to let Mario go.
- Big Damn Heroes: Meggy crashes the making of "Super Mario World Land Universe 69 Plus" to rescue Mario, then blows up the studio with a well-timed Splat Bomb.
- Call-Back: Meggy breaks out of Lawyer Kong's Cease & Desist by invoking a legal loophole, after which she points out that she went to law school (partially), a reference to "Mario University" five years earlier.
- Graceful Loser: Subverted. While Lawyer Kong lets Mario go as there is no purpose for him anymore within the company, he vows to return to settle the score.
- The Heavy: Lawyer Kong is the most active threat, being the one leading the charge against our heroes to bring back one of its biggest mascots and milk another game off of him.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Nonlethal example: Once Mario learns that the SMG4 channel will be taken down, he immediately agrees to leave with Nintendo in order to save it.
- Oh, Crap!: SMG4 panics when he learns about Meggy's Big Damn Heroes moment, knowing that Nintendo is a powerful corporation who will stop at nothing to get their mascot back.
- Phlebotinum Overdose: One of Lawyer Kong's Ninjas uses a Mushroom to increase his size to step on Mario, only for Meggy to throw more Mushrooms at the Ninja; causing him to grow bigger that he eventually explodes.
- Screwed by the Lawyers: In-Universe, the plot involves Nintendo trying to get their character back from SMG4.
- We Will Meet Again: With his efforts to capture Mario being meaningless, Lawyer Kong leaves for the time being, but vows to come back for revenge against the heroes.
