Go To

The Mythology Gag page for Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure. Being the series airing on the 20th anniversary, it's also a celebration of Pretty Cure, with references to past seasons sprinkled in.

  • The opening includes shots of Cure Prism grabbing Cure Sky by the hand, and Cure Wing doing the same with Cure Butterfly, mirroring the same pose as Cure Black and Cure White in the first Futari wa opening.
  • PrettyHolic stores continue to be present and significant, continuing the recent trend.
  • One of the drawings in Sora's diary features her standing in front of a Zakenna.
  • The team's transformation sequences end with a split screen focus on various parts of their costumes, a small nod to how the Princess Pretty Cures transformation sequences would end.
  • The robot that Mashiro asks directions when shopping with Sora is similar to the ones that appeared in Dreamia.
  • One of the outfits that Sora tries out is the winter uniform for Shinsen Middle School.
  • Episode 4 has Cure Prism jumping off the side of a building, similarly to the shot of Cure White and Cure Black doing the same in the Futari wa opening.
  • The poses that Sky and Prism do for Updraft Shining is similar to the Marble Screw.
  • At the end of Episode 5, Sora is writing a caption for one of the pictures in her new book, depicting her and Mashiro as Pretty Cures. The caption? "Futari wa Pretty Cure".
    • Adding to this, the Crunchyroll subtitles chose to translate that as "Together, we are Pretty Cure" in an homage to the opening theme the first season had in English when it was dubbed.
  • Another nod to the dub of the first season showed up when the girls ate "Donut Balls" or "Bonut Dalls" and these were eaten exactly like the Takoyaki in the first season, except these actually are donuts.
  • Sora ends up struggling to figure out how to use a vacuum cleaner. Riko had her own, similar, struggles.
  • Much like Ellen and Hime, Sora ends up writing her name comically large on the school chalkboard when introducing herself.
  • In episode 7, Kabaton gives a description of the taste of the Melon Bread he eats similarly to Ran. Earlier on, he also looked at clouds and saw them as different food much like Yui did in one of the Eye Catches.
  • In episode 8, we find out that Tsubasa can change from human to bird, similar to Coco, Natts, Syrup, Milk, Coupe-sama and Harry.
  • Cure Wing joins Milky Rose and Cure Parfait as a Cure who is also a magical creature.
  • Episode 10 is a reference to Delicious Party♡Pretty Cure, particularly how different foods can have strong memories attached to them.
  • Episode 13 has an airport called Momozora Airport.
  • Episode 16
  • Episode 18:
    • One scene has Sora, Mashiro and Ageha do a version of the 'arm dance' from the opening of Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure.
    • Another scene features the pink Cure changing a baby's diaper, which calls back to episode 14 of HuGtto! Pretty Cure. The only difference is Ageha is untransformed when doing this task.
  • Episode 19 also calls back to Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure, with a painting of a mermaid that resembles Laura La Mer in the PrettyHolic store
  • Part of the incantation for Titanic Rainbow Attack is "Mix it all up! Color Charge!"
  • Cure Butterfly's energy butterfly attacks are similar to Cure Dream’s Dream Attack.
  • Ageha not liking Green Peppers and then trying one and liking it afterwards is just like two other characters last season.
  • Sky and Prism using Updraft Shining on a cloud seems similar to when the Delicious Party Precures used Light My Delicious to light candles on a cake.
  • Similar to Kotoha, Ellee is raised by the lead Cures as their explicit daughter, with the encouragement given to raise her as a perfectly normal child, with her name as a baby being based on the sound of her Verbal Tic.
  • The different powers that the Cures imagine Elle-chan getting in episode 25 are all abilities that previous Cures had; Tsubasa imagines flight, like Cure Bloom and Cure Egret, Sora imagines Super-Strength like Cure Black and Cure Sunny, and Ageha imagines eye beams like Cure Papaya.
  • When the Cures take Elle to a cosplay photoshoot place, they look through the costumes to find child-sized versions of their costumes, in a similar style to the real life cosplay sets.
  • Elle is capable of Voluntary Shapeshifting, temporarily becoming her teenage self in order to be a Cure, similar to how Milk can switch between her human and fairy forms at will.
  • Episode 32 has Ellee take the transformation poses of Grace, Summer, and Precious during her attempts to transform into Cure Majesty.
  • Episode 33 has a similar choice to Hana's in HuGtto! Pretty Cure with the Cure Sword, when it's shown in a ancient painting that the power of the Majestic Chroniclon is purely her own, for her to defy it and change it to a power they will share.
  • Ageha always hiding her anxieties and vulnerability by constantly having a bright smile. Much like Elena used to.
  • Ellee turns back to a toddler from her older form when she is hungry, much like Ciel does.
  • Both endings include a dancing stage depicting all 20 symbols for the Pretty Cure seasons on the floor.
  • The electronic toy for 2023 is a version of Yoyo's mirror that has you play minigames with all 18 teams, with the ability to unlock each of the lead Cure(s) for the device's lock screen and menu along with a database listing all 77 current mainline Cures by team.note
