Abyss Dwellers
Best advice: don't fall in.

A legion of leviathans lurking in the lowermost layers of an incalculable expanse of bottomless blackness between the zones.
- The Cameo: One of them is Uboa.

- Our Monsters Are Weird: They're pretty bizarre even by the standards of this franchise.

Once they've taken an interest in ya, they can be tough ta shake...and they might've even leveled up the next time ya cross paths. - Void Between the Worlds: Can you make out that tiny mote of light in the upper-left corner of the picture? That's the Hospital.
The Blindtrain and its Conductor
All aboard!
- Conductor (or is it the train??): ALL ABOARD, ALL ABOARD! TOOT TOOT! ALL ABOARD THE BLINDTRAIN! BLINDTRAIN ZONE TOURS, GET 'EM WHILE THEY'RE FREE! TOOOOOT TOOOOT!!! CHUGGACHUGGACHUGGACHUGGA!!!
A strange and mysterious conductor, who offers train ride tours of the zones to passengers. At least one of the stations it stops at is located in the plank maze.
- Cool Train: A giant train monster that travels the vastness of the Abyss is pretty cool.
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: The Blindtrain is a train monster which sports a blind eye.
- Healing Factor: Something, probably Allie, rips the Blindtrain into shreds, but the Blindtrain is slowly healing.
- Literal Metaphor:"Free", huh? Last time it was "only an arm and a leg". Boy, that was sure fun.
- No Name Given: Well, the Blindtrain's called the Blindtrain, but we don't know if the Conductor has his own name. It may even be possible that the Conductor is just an attached body part of the Blindtrain.
- Non-Human Head: As seen in the full version of the above image, the Blindtrain is connected to a lanky, disturbing humanoid body.
- Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: The Conductor conducts himself like an excited little kid playing with a toy train set, spouting out noises appropriate to more mechanical locomotives. The Blindtrain itself, meanwhile, just makes noises "like a creaking door" as it moves through the Abyss.
- Sizeshifter: We have Jay's word that the Blindtrain's gotten bigger than it used to be. Its impossibly long, spindly limbs seem to reach all the way down to the unseeable bottom of the Abyss.
Abyssal Skittergramp
Always be selective of whom you bring back from the dead.
- Skittergramp: fffffriennnnnd.....goooooooood........betterrrrr..... iffffff it sssstopped.....ttthhhhinkingggggggg
After finding the dried-up carcass of a strange creature in a supply closet, Fern placed it in one of the Hospital's recycling bins. Later, she met back up with the creature, a "skittergramp," which had been restored to life by the Hospital staff. The Skittergramp thanked Fern for recycling it, and then promptly went on to attack Fern and her friends.
- Back from the Dead: Fern did this when she put the Skittergramp's corpse in one of the Hospital's recycling bins. But once she and her friends meet it properly, it's soon clear that reviving the Skittergramp was a mistake... which they promptly correct.
- Character Level: The Skittergramp is Level 20, making it the highest-leveled being Fern has ever faced that's within her "attack range." (Since Bogleech uses a d20 dice.)
- Oh, Crap!: When Willis finally manages to trap it in his shield, disabling its automatic dodge ability, it's final words are "Ohhhhhh.......boooootttthhhherrrrrrr.......", just before the Kidney Stone Baby finishes it off with its automatic Damage Over Time ability.
- One HP Wonder: The Skittergramp has just one heart.
- One-Hit Kill: Its only offensive attack, Branch Gnaw, deals the sum total of its target's HP unless guarded against.
- Puzzle Boss: The Skittergramp only has one heart, but it's also level 20, meaning most attacks only have a one out of twenty chance of hitting it. Even if you hit it, it also has a special ability called dodge, making it still automatically avoid all damage. It is also capable of dealing a One-Hit Kill attack once every other turn and cycles through Fern's party each time, requiring the character it will target to use the Defend Command on that turn. Fern has to eventually work out that she needs to capture it in Willis's shield ability, defend every other turn until it works, and then kill it with an effect that ignores its Character Level like the Kidney Stone Baby.
- Super-Speed: The Skittergramp's so quick and nimble, it's even able to dodge when Bogleech legitimately rolls a 20!ISAAC USED SLASH!DAMAGE ROLL: ̶5̶,̶ ̶1̶9̶,̶ ̶1̶2̶,̶ ̶6̶,̶ ̶1̶7̶,̶ ̶1̶9̶,̶ ̶1̶3̶,̶ ̶5̶,̶ ̶1̶8̶,̶ ̶5̶,̶ ̶8̶,̶ ̶1̶4̶,̶ ̶1̶4̶,̶ 20, 20 (2 DAMAGE!)...BUT IT DODGED AGAIN!BABY KIDNEY STONE ATTEMPTS TO INFLICT 1 DAMAGE!But the creep DODGES!
- Ungrateful Bastard: This monster did its best to murder the very woman who brought it back to life!
- We Hardly Knew Ye: And good riddance to ye, Skittergramp.
- With Friends Like These...: The Skittergramp called Fern its friend right as it began attacking her.
