     Introductory/Reuniting Arc
Chapter 1: New World, New Adventure
  • Pretty much the entire Action Prologue, consisting of Team Sonic (including Amy) and Team Dark assaulting the Ark after Eggman managed to take it over.
  • Sonic defending a village from a horde of attacking Grimm all by himself! He even managed to take down a Nevermore by sending its razor feathers back at it.
  • When the Ace Ops intercept Sonic on his way to Vale, he proposes a race, and manages to easily avoid all their attempts to catch him along the way, including Clover's luck-enhanced capture rod, Elm's rockets, and outpaces Harriet's own Super-Speed. While Word of God has confirmed they weren't going all out, it's still impressive how easily he evaded capture from some of the best Huntsmen on Remnant.

Chapter 2: Beacon Academy

  • Knuckles, Tails, and Amy have little trouble holding off the horde of Grimm that attack them even before Sonic arrives, only needing help dealing with a Deathstalker.

Chapter 3: Trials of the Emerald Forest

  • Team Sonic's meetings with the various Beacon students has some for each of them.
    • Sonic meets up with Ruby and Weiss and manages to take down all the Beowolves (sans the Alpha) in seconds, before making sure to put out the fire Ruby and Weiss accidentally started, all without breaking a sweat. Later on, he displays skills as a mediator, calming down both girls and quickly convincing them to communicate and work together, already inspiring future Huntsmen despite not being on Remnant for a week.
    • After dispatching two Ursa, Yang and Blake prepare to fight another three headed for them, only for Knuckles to enter the fray and take them on single-handed. He shows off his immense strength by managing to demolish them with one blow each, to the Huntresses-in-training awe.
    • Amy casually anticipating the King Taijuta's ambush, before joining Ren in taking the two-headed snake down, both combatants displaying impressive agility and power.
    • Smaller moment, but Tails wastes no time learning about the details of Aura and Semblances from Pyrrha, already putting his intelligence to good use. When Jaune accidentally finds a Deathstalker, he proves capable of flying fast enough to outrun it while having the two as passengers.
  • After the Alpha Beowolf returns, complete with a horde of over fifty Grimm, Team Sonic decides to show what they can do, telling the students to stand back and watch. What follows is a Curb-Stomp Battle in the hero's favour, giving impressive displays of power, skill, and especially teamwork. Each of them only requires one or two hits per Grimm to bring them down, with Sonic incapacitating several with his Blue Tornado move, and all of them back each other up and perform Combination Attacks without any words or looks needing to be exchanged, showing just how well they fight together. Little wonder the Beacon students look so awed afterward.
  • As per canon, the future Teams RWBY and JNPR's fights with the Nevermore and Death Stalker respectively, both groups displaying impressive teamwork despite just having met, and clever on the spot thinking to take down their foes. Ruby's takedown of the Nevermore in particular earns an impressed whistle from Sonic, who later compliments her potential.
  • Meanwhile, Sonic and co deal with an awakened Goliath, and after luring it away from the others, unleash their own attacks on the gigantic Grimm. While they fail to do significant damage, their attacks prove capable of cracking its armour and causing it visible pain. The biggest display of power goes to Knuckles, who manages to not only withstand it trying to crush him underfoot but push back, knocking it off balance.
    • The group decides to switch tactics, with Sonic coming up with a plan upon seeing a piece of a broken bridge nearby. He gets the others to buy him time, and Knuckles to destabilize the ground by the cliffside they're fighting, before clearing a path back to the ruins and taking up a runner's position. Using the distance to build up momentum, and the bridge piece as a ramp, he proceeds to break the sounds barrier and the subsequent spin dash blasts straight through the absurdly tough Grimm. For bonus points, the destabilized cliffside collapse, ensuring that it is definitely dead, and the angle of his makeshift ramp lets him land on the upper cliff next to an awed Ruby, complete with a Three-Point Landing. Goes to show his speed is not his only asset.
  • After all the above, a watching Metal Sonic slips away, having been behind the Goliath showing up, apparently using it as a means to test the Grimm. He then shows the recording of initiation to Eggman, who displayed impressive foresight in having his greatest minion keep an eye on his nemesis.

Chapter 4: Badges, Burdens and Bonds

  • Team Sonic deciding to get weapons, with Sonic making a sword he calls Caliburn, and Knuckles making twin axe-blades called Galatine. This opens up all sorts of possibilities for what they can do in the future.
  • Despite not even being on Remnant for a week, Tails has already managed to integrate Dust into the Tornado's weapon systems. Sonic's praise of his intelligence as a superpower is well-founded.
  • Played for Laughs, but Rouge shows off her master thief credentials by managing to swipe RWBY and JNPR's IDs within seconds of meeting them. She then proceeds to take Weiss' weapon without the latter noticing, before one-upping that by handing her back her earrings, which she stole straight off her actual ears.

Chapter 5: Dark Jaunedice

  • Despite how short a time has passed since he arrived on Remnant, Tails has apparently learned enough about Beacon's coursework that he's confident enough to tutor Jaune.

Chapter 6: Black and White and Red All Over

  • The chapter opens with Team Dark utterly trouncing a group of White Fang trying to rob a Dust warehouse.
  • The entire dock fight scene, where Team Sonic, Team Dark, Team RWBY, and Penny and Sun take on Torchwick, the White Fang, and Eggman's Egg Cerberus. Special props to Knuckles for taking a blast from Torchwick without even losing a ring (paraphrasing his movie counterpart in the process) before knocking the latter out with one blow and to Ruby for coming up with the plan that defeats the Egg-Cerberus.

Chapter 7: Alliances Under The Shattered Moon

  • A subtle one for Eggman when he uses some basic knowledge of animal behavior to determine the Grimm he encounters are acting under the orders of a leader, all without showing any fear.
  • Eggman shows off his scientific chops by managing to combine Remnant tech, Dust, and his own Chaos Emerald knowledge to create a Chaos Control portal to get home in just two weeks.
  • One fun way Robotnik can work without anyone noticing in Remnant is by having his robots do his secret projects. After all, without a soul, the Grimm won't be attracted to any of their work.
     Grimn Investigations Arc
Chapter 9: We're In This Together
  • Tails has deduced possible ways to use the Chaos Emeralds to destroy the Grimm Pools, either teleporting them into a location (such as Remnant's core or the sun) where the heat would vaporize the pools, or using Chaos Control to create a new form of Plasma Dust which can then obliterate the pools' liquid.

Chapter 10: Investigations and Discoveries

  • Rouge picks up that Sun and Neptune were eavesdropping on the planning session to search for Eggman, thanks to her sense of hearing, and grabbing them before they realize she's onto them.
  • Shadow absolutely wrecks Junior's Mooks and then subjects him to a High-Altitude Interrogation to make him talk.
  • Sonic shows that he's more than just super speed and a cocky attitude, as he starts to piece together that Ozpin and Ironwood are keeping something from them.
  • A villainous example — Eggman managing to win over a White Fang crowd, despite their Fantastic Racism towards humans.

Chapter 11: Painting the Town Red and Blue

  • Metal Sonic proving himself to be a One-Man Army, singlehandedly taking on most of the heroes' heaviest hitters and at one point even stealing Ruby and Weiss' weapons and using them for a while.
  • Ruby comes up with a Divide and Conquer strategy to split up and beat all their enemies.
  • Team JNPR bringing down Torchwick's Paladin, and then fighting him and Neapolitan.
  • Team Dark manages to evenly match Metal Sonic after luring him inside a more enclosed space that limits his speed. This climaxes with Shadow using Chaos Control to hit Metal hard enough to send him flying out of the building.
  • Teams RWBY and Sonic working together to bring down the Egg Wyvern.
  • Eggman is seemingly captured by the heroes, only for it to turn out that he pulled his Actually a Doombot trick.
  • Sonic, Shadow, and Tails (in the Cyclone) manage to keep up with a fleeing Cinder no matter what trick she uses to try and slow them down. Ultimately, she has to lure them into a Dust warehouse and blow it up to lose them, and even then they manage to survive.

Chapter 12: Let's Dance

  • The heroes manage to anticipate that Cinder would attack the Tower during the dance and set a trap.
  • Amy was the one who designed Team Sonic's outfits for the dance, and she did a pretty good job of it.
  • Despite the presence of the heroes, Metal Sonic still manages to successfully upload the virus.

Chapter 13: Mountain Glenn

  • Sonic and company manage to figure out that Ozpin is keeping secrets from them.
  • It's mixed with Funny, but we get to see how Zwei can use a can opener in this fic.

Chapter 14: Freight Train Fight

  • Shadow cutting down a guard tower to crush some Badniks with it.
  • Zwei takes out an Egg Fighter by himself. Omega is legitimately impressed.
  • Seeing the Grimm horde enter the train tunnel, Shadow decides to Hold the Line and spends the rest of the chapter doing so single-handedly. Rather than simply overpowering them, he makes good use of his new weapons and Chaos powers to stun them to create openings to finish them all and turn their own attacks on their allies, showing impressive skill. By the end of the chapter, he has managed to halve the entire horde, and isn't even winded, only leaving to get the others into Vale with Chaos Control.
  • Amy and Weiss take on a robot that previously took Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles to beat and manage to overwhelm it with impressive use of the latter's Glyphs.
  • The battle atop the train pits Ruby, Oobleck, Zwei, Omega, and Yang against several of Eggmans 'Super Badniks', where everyone gets a chance to shine.
    • Ruby takes a page out of Sonic and Shadow's book, using her Semblance to make her newly dubbed 'Red Tornado' and with Omega's help manages to knock one of the Super Badniks off the train.
    • Knuckles stands out for overpowering his opponent with a Punch Parry from fist-to-hammer, before tossing the thing off the train.
    • While her lack of tactics concerns Knuckles, one can't deny that Yang's takedown of her opponent was badass. She manages to survive its beatdown of her while she was on her back, before using the boost from her Semblance to No-Sell its attack and smash its head in, bearing the distinction of being the only one present who didn't resort to throwing it off the train to win.
  • Rouge takes on Neo, and it is a complete Curb-Stomp Battle in the bats favour, the colourful assassin is unable to land so much as a single hit, with Rouge's ears rendering her Semblance ineffective, and gives her a taste of her own medicine by dancing around Neo's blows. By the end of the fight, Neo has visibly lost her cool, being enraged as Rouge taunts her about lacking experience, who then finishes her off by slipping a sticky bomb on her arm without her noticing.
  • Metal Sonic proves once again why he is Eggmans deadliest creation, managing to fend Sonic off long enough for the train to reach Vale, both blue speedsters exchanging a rapid back-and-forth showcase of their weapons and powers. And with his objective complete, he manages to not only escape but bring a defeated Neo and Ilia with him, the heroes unable to stop them.
  • Villainous example, Eggman shows off how well prepared he is, by not only leaving Torchwick a mech to pilot to assist with the destruction but revealing he had two boss robots and another mech piloted by the White Fang Lieutenant ready ahead of time in Vale. Even with Shadow having thinned out the Grimm horde, the heroes are in for a grueling battle.

Chapter 15: Rumble in the Urban Jungle

  • The entire chapter is a classic and long Iron117Prime-style Big Badass Battle Sequence, with no less than four giant robots for the heroes to fight, and Metal Sonic.
  • The simple fact that between Shadow's earlier culling of them and better organization of the heroes the Grimm barely make it into Vale before being slaughtered and Goodwitch seals the breach.
  • With Teams Sonic, Dark, and their usual allies dealing with the other threats, Team SSSN faces off against the Egg-Rex, with some timely aid from Team CFVY. When the thing proves tough enough to shrug off attacks from even Coco's minigun, Velvet realizes its insides may not be as tough, from which Coco quickly forms a plan. The two teams display solid teamwork in creating an opening for Coco to absolutely wreck its insides with Gianduja, complete with a Pre-Mortem One-Liner.
    Coco: Say ah.
  • After reinforcements arrive, Team RWBY engages the White Fang Lieutenant in the Egg Breaker, a powerful mech with a large mace that can send Dust-empowered projectile copies. Despite struggling to so much as get close to the mech, Ruby quickly comes up with a plan to win, having Weiss pull a similar trick to the Nevermore at Initiation. The combination of freezing the arm and a horizontal Red Tornado (courtesy of Weiss' Glyphs on the side of a building) gives her enough force to cut the mechs mace arm right off, depriving it of its primary means of attack and creating an opening for her teammates to finish it off.
  • During the battle with the Death Crab, Nora gets the distinction of being the first person to make a visible dent, her Semblance charged strength enough to knock it into a nearby building. The battle also shows Jaune's growth as a leader, taking charge of everyone present (including the more experienced Tails, Amy, and Knuckles) and fully exploiting the brief opening of the Death Crabs missile systems (slowed in large part thanks to Nora's aforementioned attack) by having Knuckles and Nora hold it open. This lets everyone else can attack the much more vulnerable insides of the heavily armoured robot, netting them the win.
  • Shadow takes on Torchwick in the Egg Centaur by himself, and has little difficulty keeping his opponent on the ropes. When Rouge and Omega join in, it becomes a Curb-Stomp Battle in their favour, the criminal unable to land so much as a single hit on his opponents, even as they proceed to overpower and brutally dismantle the mech.
  • Penny joins in on the fight against Metal Sonic and manages to do some heavy damage to him when his defenses are briefly down, and even manages to keep up with him and Sonic for the most part. She also displays good coordination with the Hedgehog over the course of the fight, tagging in and out to keep up the pressure against Eggman's deadliest enforcer.
  • Just how composed Sonic is throughout the entire chapter, never losing his cool and consistently coordinating everyone in their efforts to protect Vale as the situation develops. Before reinforcements arrive he easily kept the aforementioned Egg Breaker occupied and assists the Beacon faculty against Metal Sonic after reinforcements arrive. Despite never having fought with them before, and the unexpected arrival of Penny, he quickly hashes out a strategy for the group to keep the robotic enemy on the back foot, showing that his speed is just one of the reasons he's such a thorn in Eggmans side.
  • Villainous example, but it took the combined efforts of Sonic, Penny, and three of Beacons teachers to put Metal Sonic decisively on the losing end of a fight, and he was even able to overwhelm the latter group before Sonic started helping out. Even then, he could make his getaway as soon as Eggman gave the order. Not to mention, having analyzed the footage from his battle, he has already determined that Penny is either a cyborg or an android.
     Merlot Arc
Chapter 17: A New Threat
  • Tails, Pietro, and Shadow work together to successfully create Plasma Dust.
  • Knuckles telling Yang about the flaws in her fighting style, and to drive it in he beats her in a weapons-free spar without her even landing a single punch on him, and when she uses her Semblance he catches it without any sign of being harmed by it.

Chapter 18: Back to the Ghost Town

  • A villainous example, but Merlot's mutant Grimm are a lot more deadly than their canon versions in this story.
  • Team Dark uses a Dust-boosted Chaos Inferno to utterly destroy a large group of mutant Grimm.
  • To defeat the mutant Deathstalker/Beowulf hybrid, Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails impale it with some stalactites and send it into a deep pit.

Chapter 19: End of the Line

  • Through teamwork, the heroes are able to slay the mutant Nevermore, with Sonic dealing the final blow by using Caliburn to slice off its head.
  • At the end of the chapter Merlot is talking to someone who looks like Ruby, but with black and white eyes...

Chapter 20: Merlot Island

  • Tails using the Power Laser on the Tornado to utterly obliterate three mutant Griffons.
  • Shadow was rather suspicious of "Ruby's" behavior, and when he confirms that the real Ruby has Crescent Rose and was never separated from the group he punches Mimic in the gut, confirming that he has no Aura in the process, and grabs him by the throat. Points to Mimic for remaining confident in that situation too.

Chapter 21: The Grand Tour

  • Team Sonic and Team Dark's takedowns of Merlot's new mutant Grimm, which he's started to enhance with Dust.
    • Sonic manages to outspeed a fire infused mutated Nevermore, exploding him a way out.
    • Knuckles tunnels straight through a "Kong" Grimm, since as a tunneler, this earth stuff isn't a problem at all.
    • Shadow barely tries to justify himself to Merlot, as "The Ultimate Lifeform" doesn't need to entertain a mad scientist. Then he dispatches the Chimera he's given thanks to the power of Chaos Control.
  • Thanks to their implicit trust in each other, Ren and Nora manage to escape Mimic's combat trap for the two of them.
  • Rouge, after dispatching her Grimm, decides it's time to play by their own script rather than Merlot's, taking Knuckles along on a Air-Vent Passageway to try and draw their opponents out.

Chapter 22: Final Examination and Extermination

  • Team RWBY working together to take down Mimic. First Ruby intercepts him when he tries to flee and shoots his gun out of his hand, then Weiss blocks his attempted counterattack with her glyphs, before blasting him. This sends him towards Blake, who kicks him towards Yang, who then punches him into the floor hard enough to leave a dent and knock him out.
  • Knuckles defeating the kraken by having Raven coat it in Earth Dust, letting him get enough of a hold to burrow inside of it and tear it apart from within.
  • Shadow using a Chaos Blast to obliterate the last of Merlot's mutants.

Chapter 23: Reevaluation and Reconciliation

  • Returning from their extended mission, the heroes have an idea of how to spend their week before the Vytal festival when things are going to go down.
    • Shadow and Tails are nearly ready for their combination antivirus/trojan horse program to protect Beacon and find more information from Ozpin.
    • Ruby and Yang resolve to work on their relationship so they can be there for each other when it counts.
    • Pyrrha reaches out to ask if they can to a 4 team training week so they can practice working not just in squads, but as one whole company.
    • Amy and Sonic make resolutions to protect Blake from Adam and whatever may come.
    • Tails goes to Penny and Pietro with an idea for what he wants his weapon to be.

     Vytal Festival Arc
Chapter 25: The Vytal Festival
  • As Cinder and company plot, they're apparently completely unaware that Shadow and Omega are spying on them and have identified Cinder and Neo.
  • Yang ends up putting all of Knuckles's coaching to use in the first round. First only activating a portion of her semblance, then using it not as a bomb, but a mountain to stop her enemy cold and then throw them off the platform.
  • Team RWBY wins the first round using a new combo move called the RWBY Dash, which is very reminiscent of the Team Blast from Sonic Heroes.

Chapter 26: Root for the Underdogs

  • Nora proves during their battle that her new bear trap feature is actually a fairly useful modification.
  • JNPR does well enough in their battle that Shadow actually compliments them in his own way.

Chapter 27: The Best vs Better

  • Tails unveils his new weapon that he made with Pietro and Penny called Hurricane Gamma, a combination jetpack and dual Hard Light Dust energy swords.
  • Team Sonic defeats the Ace Ops Team with no eliminations in their spar.
  • After Team Sonic's duel, Shadow fights Winter and Qrow in a three-way match. Shadow wins.

Chapter 28: "You Learn Something New"

  • Tails coming up with a way to manufacture Plasma Dust, and potentially other new types, with Gravity Dust.

Chapter 29: "Underneath the Colors"

  • Ruby taking advantage of Neon's lack of experience using her skates outside of urban environments to trip her up, like leading her onto sand.
  • Ruby unleashing a new move, similar to Sonic's trademark Spin Dash, to beat Neon.
Chapter 30: “Busted!”
  • Teams Sonic and Dark managing to set up a trap for Cinder and her team in order to capture them and prevent the Fall of Beacon.
