• In chapter 4, Rei kicks the Fifth Angel in the air and then punching its Core. Too bad that the Angel turns itself invisible and rebuilds itself by charging up its AT field, absorbing the souls of ... grass. With the help of Kensuke, Touji, and Hikari in Unit-01, Shinji and Rei managed to defeat the Angel by avoiding the tentacles, cornering the Angel, and finishing it off by rocket-punching its Core. They then ran away from the explosion afterwards. Big Damn Heroes, indeed.
