The Eight

    open/close all folders

     As a whole
  • Caper Crew: while the dynamic is the most pronounced when they actually run capers (which they do several times), it usually applies on a regular basis too, and aligns somewhat with their roles in The Team.
  • Designer Babies: most of them got their special Lambda waves because of Dr. Berger's experiment.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: times two.
    • Sanguine: Roni, Mika and Adam
    • Choleric: Nitzan and Aya
    • Melancholic: Nini and Avi
    • Phlegmatic: Dori and Natasha
  • Love Dodecahedron: like many other teen centered shows, by the end of the third season you could really use a flow chart to keep up with the dating do-si-do.
    • Dori lampshades this in the second season, and correctly observes that most of the romantic combinations include Adam, who hooks up with four of the five main girls.

     Aya Dvir
Played by: Hili Yalon
One of the Dvir twins. A gifted child with Photographic Memory.
  • Child Prodigy: she read the first Harry Potter book, in one day, by herself, when she was only three years old. She's also top of her class among the eight even though she is five years younger than most of her classmates.
  • Dating What Daddy Hates: Aya has always been quite taken with Adam, but part of the appeal he seems to hold in her eyes in early season 2 is her father's disapproval of the relationship.
  • Genius Book Club: Aya is the resident bookworm, and is well versed in the works of John le Carré at the tender age of ten.
  • Precocious Crush: Aya has been harboring a crush on Adam when she was still ten. Then they actually get together, but somehow no one comments on the Squick.
  • Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: fitting someone who's a bit of a know it all.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Aya and Nini have inherited their mother's big blue eyes.
  • Younger Than They Look: Aya and Nini are actually five years younger than their friends.

     Nini Dvir
Played by: Yedidya Vital
One of the Dvir twins. A gifted child with panache for strategy and chess.

     Adam Ha Levi
Played by: Michael Aloni
The alpha male of the crew, and the son of the head of the project, Avner. Confident to the point of being cocky.

     Roni Malki
Played by: Dawn Lenny-Gabay
An outgoing, friendly math whiz with an unfortunate taste in men.

     Natasha Segovia
Played by: Adi Himelbloy
A talented painter with perfect visual memory. Her family immigrated from Russian to Israel when she was a baby.

     Dori Feingold
Played by: Danny Leshman
A dorky guy who excels at MacGyvering and puns.
  • Bad Liar: everyone learn the hard way Dori is no good at undercover.
  • Deadpan Snarker: everything is a joke.
  • Dogged Nice Guy: with both Natasha and Nitzan.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: he creates chewing gum cameras, night vision goggles and nerve gas from the comfort of his bedroom. No wonder his hero is Spider-Man.
  • Gallows Humor: Dori always jokes, especially when the eight face danger.
  • Opposites Attract: both of Dori's relationships apply. He is a nerd and Natasha is the cool girl in every sense of the word. He is sickly geek while Nitzan is a straight up badass.
  • Pungeon Master: Dori is often teased for his dad jokes.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: while the other eight are all very smart, Dori is the geekiest and wears the obligatory glasses.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Dori tends to fall to this pattern with his love interests.

     Avi Moskovich
Played by: Avi Kornick
A computer genius from a low income family. He moves in with Mika's family in the big city.
  • The Danza: both the character and the actor are named Avi.
  • Deadpan Snarker: emphasis on deadpan.
  • Fish out of Water: in the first season Avi has a hard time getting used to life in Tel Aviv.
  • Motor Mouth: of the Techno Babble variety.
  • Playful Hacker: Even though he learned everything he knows about computers from the far more sinister Chekov, Avi is an inherently good guy who only breaks the law to help people.
  • Silly Rabbit, Idealism Is for Kids!: Avi plays this role in the group in the first season, but Nitzan mostly takes over by the second season.
  • The Leader: Avi is made the commander of the eight in the show's third season.

     Mika Shaked
Played by: Shira Vilensky
A sweet rich girl with absolute pitch, a Child Prodigy musician.
  • Big Eater: Mika is always eating or talking about food.
  • Brutal Honesty: as Avi puts it, when God was giving out tact, Mika was at a piano concert.
  • Buffy Speak: though she is quite eloquent and high brow, when Mika attempts to understand Avi's tenchno babble she usually falls deep into this trope.
  • Genius Sweet Tooth: a brilliant musician who always has chocolate on her person.
  • Shipper on Deck: Mika is a bit of a gossip in general, and can be a little too invested in her friends' love lives. She is particularly fascinated with Adam and Natasha and Nini and Roni.
  • Uptown Girl: rich girl Mika and Country Mouse Avi.

     Nitzan Romano Berger
Played by: Limor Atias
A homeless teen that Dganit takes in. Unlike the other kids, Nitzan is more Street Smart and has "kinesthetic intelligence". She joins the team during Aya's absence.
  • Always Someone Better: mostly towards Aya, but also towards Natasha at times.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Nitzan believes in doing whatever it takes to get things done, and has no qualms hurting Lina to find out what happened to Aya.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: she has been in and out of foster homes and shelters, as well as living on the street.
  • Driven by Envy: Nitzan's jealousy towards Aya and her connection with Adam makes her to make some very questionable choices that eventually drive him away.
  • Living Lie Detector: Nitzan clams to be able if someone is bullshitting her, though by season 3 it seems her detector is a little faulty.
  • Meaningful Name: Nitzan (flower bud in Hebrew) is full of untapped potential.
  • Tank-Top Tomboy: she rarely wear sleeves.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: lay a finger on Adam (or Dori), and you'll end up with a knife in you throat.
