     Budo

Real Name: Kyle A. Jesso

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/budo.png
A martial artist who combines military discipline with the code of the samurai.
  • Ascended Extra: His appearances in the Marvel ARAH comic were few and far between, but the death of Quick Kick and the negative reaction to the more colorful Ninja Force characters resulted in his role being upgraded for IDW's continuation.
  • Badass Biker: Has a fondness for vintage motorcycles, specially his own chopped pan-head Harley.
  • Everything's Better with Samurai: His ancestors were samurai during the Edo period.
  • Expy: A very loose one of Joe Armstrong, a motorcycle riding hand-to-hand combat instructor who combines Bushido and modern military disciplines.
  • McNinja: Has a vague connection to the Arashikage clan.
  • Meaningful Name: Quite simply, while he is a Japanese-American who is a martial artist, his codename Budo is simply the Japanese term for martial arts.
  • Metalhead: Is quite fond of Heavy Metal, frequently listening to it when he's working on his bike.
  • Training from Hell: His initiation into the Joes entailed 250 push-ups before breakfast, 6 hours of sleep-inducing driver safety films (which were started over from the very beginning if anyone nodded off), and a last-man standing competition.

     Dawn AKA Snake Eyes II

Real Name: Dawn Moreno

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dawnsnakeeyes.png
"As soon as I see your finger tighten on the trigger, you'll be dead before you hit the floor."
A former Cobra Youth member who got exposed to the memories of the original Snake-Eyes after a session in the Brainwave scanner, Dawn joined the team to carry on the legacy of her predecessor.

     Jinx

Real Name: Kimiko Arashikage

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kimiJINXarashikage_4018.JPG
"...first one to say anything about me being bad luck gets a knuckle massage!"
Voiced By: Shuko Akune (G.I. Joe: The Movie), Venus Terzo (Reel FX films), Lisa Ortiz (G.I. Joe: Sigma 6), Kim Mai Guest (G.I. Joe: Renegades)

An Arashikage kunoichi and Storm Shadow's cousin. Occasionally does intelligence work for the Joes; her stealth and infiltration skills are said to be second only to her third sensei, Snake-Eyes.

  • Adaptational Name Change: In the 2019 IDW reboot, her real name is Elaine Song.
  • Arrogant Kung-Fu Girl: A heroic female example. She loves showing off her talent.
  • Badass Bureaucrat: Her secondary specialty is finance clerk and accounting at the Presidio base. This rarely comes up, but at least one comics story showed her digging into the bookkeeping of Destro's company.
  • Berserk Button: Don't mention her being unlucky. Just don't.
  • Cool Teacher/Hot Teacher: To Billy.
  • Chekhov's Skill: Fighting blindfolded.
  • Good Bad Girl: Downplayed. The problem is that Jinx has an overly long list of boyfriends that led to a deadly string of bad luck. Counting them all in every continuity she has been in a relationship with Lt. Falcon, Nunchuck, Budo, Lt. Stone, Chuckles and having a massive crush on Snake-Eyes.
  • Hot Librarian: Her preferred civvie outfit.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Her more than meaningful code name stems from the fact that every boyfriend she ever had ends up in... lets just say not in a "mint", healthy condition!
  • Ninja/Pretty Princess Powerhouse: Let us remember she is Hard Master's daughter, Blind Master's, her cousin's and then Snake-Eyes´ pupil and the third Billy's sensei.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Part of the Beach Head's Rawhydes in The Movie.
  • Vague Age: The comic book artists didn't seem to decide if she was the same age or older than Billy. It took them a while to finalize how she would look without her mask. Hence, in her earliest appearances she had long hair, a petit frame, and appeared roughly Billy's age. After The Movie came out her appearance changed to reflect her animated counterpart, consequently making her look older than Billy.
  • Your Eyes Can Deceive You: Was taught this by the Blind Master.

     Agent Helix
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/helix.png

An infiltration expert with a unique mental condition, "total battlefield awareness", that allows her to perfectly track everything going on in a fight at once, giving her near-perfect fighting skills.

  • Back-to-Back Badasses: When she's paired with Snake-Eyes, one can practically hear "Duel of the Fates" as they slice through mooks left and right.
  • Canon Immigrant: Originally created for the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra toyline and video game. After being included in the 2008 IDW continuity to promote The Rise of Cobra's toyline and game, she was then incorporated into the original comic book continuity when the IDW continuation of the Marvel Comics continuity introduced her via the Silent Option miniseries.
  • Combat Clairvoyance: Has something similar thanks to her "total battlefield awareness", letting her track everything that's going on simultaneously.
  • Gun Fu: Her "Whirlwind attack" involves her delivering a flurry of kicks while unleashing a volley of bullets.
  • Guns Akimbo: Uses twin pistols for ranged combat.
  • Hates Being Touched: As a result of a traumatic childhood.
  • Meaningful Name: She earned that code name since her ultimate skill is to throw a flying butterfly kick while shooting her twin machine pistols.
  • McNinja: A more hi-tech example than most, with some slight influences from Cyberpunk and Metal Gear Solid.
  • No Name Given/Parts Unknown: Her real name and birthplace are listed as "Classified".
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Silent Option depicts her undertaking one against a particularly vile slaver who makes Cobra Commander look like a saint.
  • Sword and Gun: Twin machine pistols for ranged combat and a blade, usually a machete or tanto, for close-quarter fighting and stealth kills. She also is skilled with a Revanche Energy Blade, the Joeverse equivalent of a lightsaber.
  • Vigilante Woman: Her original career before joining the Joes. She hunted down and dismantled criminal operations.

     Kamakura

Real Name: Sean M. Collins (né Broca)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kamakura2.gif
"Highly skilled, a bit reckless and extremely self-confident!"
Voiced by: Kevin Ohjitsu (Reel FX films), Marc Thompson (G.I. Joe: Sigma 6)

The son of a Crimson Guard, and Snake-Eyes' apprentice.

  • The Apprentice: To Snake-Eyes specifically.
  • Ascended Extra: Doesn't do too much in the original series due to his age, and his biggest contribution is arguably being the catalyst for Snake-Eyes to be able to air his feelings on Vietnam and a military career. The Marvel series ended with Sean promising to think over whether or not to enlist more deeply, although both sequel series show the answer was "yes".
  • Demoted to Extra: To promote Snake-Eyes new pupil and Suspiciously Similar Substitute of him Tiger Claw in Ninja Battles.
  • In-Series Nickname: In the Devil's Due series, Hawk refers to him as "the Green Power Ranger" due to his Highly-Visible Ninja costume.
  • McNinja: A recruit who showed up to his first day as a Joe in full ninja garb. Hawk gave him nothing but grief over it until Kamakura saved his life, at which point he comes to respect Kamakura more.
  • Not His Sled/Legacy Character: Never uses the name Kamakura in the IDW ARAH series. His codename is initially Throwdown, but he later becomes the new Snake Eyes.
  • Significant Anagram: His birth last name is an anagram of "Cobra", the result of being the son of the original Crimson Guard, Fred. After he's adopted by "Fred II" (Real name: Wade Collins), he also takes on the surname.
  • Situational Sword: The katana he inherited from Snake-Eyes in Valor vs. Venom, "Tetsu-hashi" just can be unsheathed if its wielder is in perfect balance with himself.

     Quick Kick

Real Name: Macarthur S. Ito

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/QUICKICK_4360.JPG
Voiced By: Francois Chau (G. I. Joe: A Real American Hero, Sunbow series)

A martial arts stunt double who joined the G.I. Joe team. He was used a lot in the cartoon — much more so than Snake-Eyes, who couldn't talk and was thus not focused on much. He had almost as many solo shots as Shipwreck. By contrast, the comics saw him as an also-ran who was easily defeated by Storm Shadow (using improvised weapons versus Quick Kick's Nunchaku, embarrassingly enough).

     Scarlett

Real Name: Shana M. O'Hara

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scarlett_7917.jpg
"Beauty may be only skin deep...but lethal goes to the bone!"
Voiced By: B. J. Ward (G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, Sunbow series and G. I. Joe: The Movie), Suzanne Errett-Balcom (G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, DiC series), Lisa Ann Beley (Reel FX films), Amy Birnbaum (G.I. Joe: Sigma 6, first eight episodes), Veronica Taylor (G.I. Joe: Sigma 6, ninth episode and onward), Grey DeLisle (G.I. Joe: Resolute), Natalia Cigiliuti (G.I. Joe: Renegades), Elizabeth Maxwell (G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout)

The G.I. Joe team's intelligence expert. Possibly done full-on wet work.

  • Action Girl: One of the best examples since Modesty Blaise as she has no superpowers, is still vulnerable to injury and it's her tenacity, skills and extensive training keep her going. Was in danger of becoming a Faux Action Girl during the DDP-era. After she successfully freed herself from Destro's clutches in America's Elite #7, she either remained at base, was easily knocked unconscious or kept secure thanks to the Standard Female Grab Area for 19 issues! Luckily she made a triumphant comeback in America's Elite #26 in which she kicked some serious ninja-ass for good and restored her status.
  • Cain and Abel: Her sister tries to have her taken off life support, claiming it's because she didn't want Scarlett to spend the rest of her life as a vegetable. Scarlett cuts her off and asks her if this is about the family home, because if it is, Sioban can just have the damn thing.
  • Damsel out of Distress: In #21 Snake Eyes rescues her after she's escaped from Storm Shadow's oubliette using a disguised hairpin.
  • Expy: of Larry Hama's wife per Word of God.
  • Friendly Sniper: Handwaved away in the original cartoon series and comic book; it wasn't until the movie and series like Resolute that it was emphasized that one of Scarlett's main jobs is to kill people (that crossbow isn't for target practice).
  • Ms. Fanservice: Played straight, then averted, and later subverted. Even being the token female character for a while and almost always the main female Joe, she was never large breasted nor was her uniform Stripperiffic, except for a brief period during the end of the Marvel run, when the publishing company tried all sorts of tricks to improve sales and changed her classic uniform into a far more decolté-generous one. Still, only Snake-Eyes was a more prominent character during the early Marvel-years and she did receive her fair share of Clothing Damage every now and then. Her beauty was rather rarely commented upon, especially contrasted to Cover Girl (a stunning former top model) or Lady Jaye (A very attractive former actress).
  • No One Should Survive That!: In the original Marvel saga, Scarlett attempted and failed to prevent The Baroness from kidnapping Snake-Eyes while he was recovering from one of his too-many face reconstructions. Then she got a Boom, Headshot! for her pains and was Put on a Bus for thirty-some issues.
  • Official Couple: With either Snake-Eyes (most continuities) or Duke (Sunbow cartoon). Throughout the years, Snake-Eyes won out as her official partner.
    • Love Triangle:
      • She's got feelings for both in Resolute, though she chooses Duke.
      • Subverted. In Renegades she had to fight hard for her ninja against Jinx.
  • Shout-Out: "Scarlett" O'Hara. She's even from Atlanta.
    • On more than one occasion in the cartoon, she'd mockingly use a fake "Southern Belle" voice.
    • During World War II, OSS members were issued crossbows (such as the Big Joe 5) for use as silent assassination weapons.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: "Mayday" in G.I. Joe Extreme, a Hair-Trigger Temper redhead pilot and mechanic with all of her personality traits.
  • The Squadette: She's notably the first female Joe ever introduced in the franchise.
  • Trick Quarrels: Mainly in the Sunbow cartoons.

     Snake Eyes
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snake_eyes_6.jpg
"...he should wear a sign on his chest that says, "Don't mess, PERIOD!" The bad guys would like to see him declared illegal under the Geneva Convention!"
Voiced *In flashbacks* By: Danny Cooksey (G.I. Joe: Renegades)
Portrayed By: Ray Park (G. I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra and G. I. Joe: Retaliation), Leo Howard (flashback; G. I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra), Henry Golding (Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins)
An infantryman, veteran of The Vietnam War who after the deaths of both parents and his sister, was invited by his platoon fellow to study martial arts under his family ninja clan. Now Snake-Eyes is a capital member of G.I. Joe while his former friend joined the Cobra ranks. A tragic helicopter mission took away his voice and scarred his face, so he never removes his mask around others.
  • Abled in the Adaptation: Most continuities have established Snake-Eyes as being unable to talk (while never speaking in the Sunbow cartoon, it was never really clarified whether his lack of dialogue there was by necessity or by choice), but he is clearly shown to be able to speak in Transformers vs. G.I. Joe.
  • Animal Companion/Canine Companion: Timber (a wolf), who in the cartoon helps Snake-Eyes in the battlefield, while in the comics guards Snake-Eyes' cabin in the High Sierras.
  • Back from the Dead: The IDW continuation of the Marvel Comics continuity kills him off, but has him resurrected via cloning by issue 299.
  • Barehanded Blade Block: He does it in issue 21, and impressively, he does it while reaching around Scarlett and the CLAW glider they're using to escape Destro's castle.
  • Berserk Button:
    • In continuities where they're together, he can get even scarier if you hint at harming Scarlett. Put it this way: you're lucky if she kills you (and she often will).
    • Once in the Devil's Due comics he absolutely lost it during a fight when Storm Shadow managed to strike a gash across his (surgically reconstructed) face.
  • Black Knight: A modern depiction of this classic trope, clashing against the thick of the enemy's lines on a bike with his "Black Eagle" tachi.
  • Blade Enthusiast: Stalker's always happy to tell you about Snake-Eyes' collection of spike-knuckled trench knives; Snake-Eyes' third costume/action figure has a very large pair of knives right on his chest, and very nearly every single one of his figures gives you a different little plastic knife for his arsenal. One imagines the walls of his quarters are rather intimidating.
  • Cain and Abel: He's Abel to Storm Shadow's Cain.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: He is the resident hand-to-hand combat instructor for the Joes. He's proven as unbeatable unarmed in most depictions; the only one who has been able to defeat him was Road Pig.
  • Cool Shades: A staple of his civilian wear. The goggles on his mask could also qualify.
  • Combat Pragmatist: As shown in issue 21, in a scene that Larry Hama has admitted pays tribute to Raiders of the Lost Ark, Snake-Eyes throws a grenade on a Red Ninja. Snake Eyes freely combining ninja techniques with modern military training is one of his defining characteristics.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He has a snake-themed codename (albeit one with multiple connotations) and wears black, but he is very much an enemy of COBRA.
  • Determinator/Made of Iron: After getting his face half blown off as the result of a helicopter in-air collision while pulling all of his teammates out after crashing, he continued with the mission instead of being evacuated for treatment.
    • And when he's placed in the Arashikage Mind Set... you better get out of his way!
  • The Dreaded: A well-seasoned airborne ranger who can switch between ninja and commando mid-fight. Once in a while he's seen taking down an entire enemy squad by himself... unarmed.
    • As Snake-Eyes: Declassified points out, this comes from even before he became a ninja. In 'Nam he was transferred to a Long Range Recon Patrol from a Special Forces "spooky house". Most of his patrol mates are scared shitless after they find this out. Only Stalker and Storm Shadow seem to feel some sympathy for the quiet loner.
    • In Resolute we learn that he is the last living master of a set of secret techniques called "The 7 steps to the sun". The sixth step implies he can crush several inches wide logs in a single blow.
  • Dub Name Change: In Latin America, he's called Lobo Solitario (Spanish for "Lone Wolf").
  • Enemy Mine: Storm Shadow has been Mis-blamed of being his Arch-Enemy for years, time and again Snake-Eyes has shown that he never blamed his long-lost Sword Brother for the Hard Master's assassination, only aiming to look after him. Nevertheless, there are always circumstances that make them take separate ways as their both alliances are most of the time short-lived or merely aiming for an immediate common goal.
  • Expansion Pack Past: Snake Eyes has always been connected to Scarlett and Storm Shadow, but later additions include Stalker (his C.O. and buddy from 'Nam), Firefly (who they think killed the Hard Master) and Zartan (who actually killed the Hard Master) in his life all before the Joes got started. Then there's the whole "death of Baroness' brother" that took place before she joined Cobra including a very young Destro. AND THEN let us not forget that Snake-Eyes has a blood-debt to settle with none other than Cobra Commander himself.
    • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: In Marvel comics it reached the point where everything was revolved around him in some way. The comic was even retitled G.I. Joe: Starring Snake-Eyes.
  • Eye-Obscuring Hat: Before he's a ninja. This was even done on the action figure depicting him this way — the figure has no eyes and instead there is a shadow painted over his face.
  • The Faceless: He's never unmasked in the cartoon. In the comics he wears a false face based on his pre-disfigurement appearance when he's off duty.
  • Forgot Flanders Could Do That: From time to time he can act as the team's heavy machine gunner carrying M-60's or heavier gatling guns around. Incidentally, these were his weapons of choice back in 'Nam.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Inverted, as Snake-Eyes was badly scarred (in the original comics, by a helicopter collision), which is why he wore a full face mask. He's generally one of the most noble characters despite his disfigurement.
    • Scars Are Forever: Depending on the continuity. In the original comics, his face was restored by plastic surgery, only for his newly-restored face to get burned by hot coals before the end of the storyline. This was far less severe than his original disfigurement, however; aside from a few scars, his face was normal enough that the aforementioned false face was no longer necessary.
  • Legacy Character:
    • In Transformers vs. G.I. Joe he passes the mantle of "Snake Eyes" to William Kessler.
    • Larry Hama does kill him off for real in ARAH #213, and it takes TWO characters to fill his shoes: Sean Collins and Dawn Moreno.
  • Mad Bomber: Downplayed, but he is noted in at least one series as having a bad habit of overestimating how much plastic explosives to use. At one point he lays a trap for two enemies using fifty pounds of C-4. Admittedly it also had to blow through a castle wall, but two guys.
  • McNinja/Mighty Whitey: He's a caucasian American soldier trained by the Japanese Arashikage ninjas, and demonstrably has defeated Storm Shadow multiple times, who has been a ninja his whole life. According to Word of God, he and Storm Shadow are roughly equal in prowess, but each exceeds the other in one particular area; Snake Eyes is better than Storm Shadow in hand-to-hand combat, and Storm Shadow is better in archery than Snake Eyes (the stated reason being that he's more ruthless). In addition, Hama, a Japanese-American (not unlike Storm Shadow), made a comment on how being not born in Japan caused natives of the country to treat him in a certain way, and he wanted to make clear that one's ethnic background doesn't prevent anyone from excelling.
    • Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins downplays it by having the character played by Henry Golding, who is of mixed indigenous Malaysian/white British descent, but he's still playing an American character inducted into a Japanese ninja clan.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Believe us, if you happen to be one of the baddies it couldn´t be worse even if his was spelled "D-O-O-M".
  • No Name Given/Parts Unknown: Most of the Joes' real names appear in their Action Figure File Cards, but Snake-Eyes' name, serial number and birthplace just say "Classified". The most revealed is that one comic gave him a first initial of N, and another a last initial of J.
    • A 2006 comic book note  three-pack of figures representing Stalker, Storm Shadow, and Snake-Eyes during their LRRP days had the figures identified as Lonzo R. Wilkinson, Tommy Arashikage, and "CLASSIFIED" - any reference to Snake-Eyes' real name on the file cards was redacted.
    • Devil's Due miniseries Snake Eyes Declassified tells his story before he became a Joe. Word of God states Hasbro was absolutely adamant that there shall be no real name given to him in the series.
    • ÍDW with Transformers vs. G.I. Joe gave him the declassified name Francis Witwicky, though he passes on the title of "Snake-Eyes" to Billy at the end of issue 13.
  • Nothing Is Scarier: Early on, Snake-Eye's face is hidden from the audience, but characters get glimpses of it, and it's apparently so hideous as to make grown men vomit in disgust. Issue #90 finally shows it, and while it is pretty unsightly, it's not that horrendous.
  • Official Couple: With Scarlett in almost every continuity.
    • Love Triangle: In Renegades it's hinted that his affections are matter of contempt between Scarlett and Jinx.
  • Out of Focus: He got a good amount of screen time in the three five-parters that begun the cartoon, but after that really drifted in and out of the show for a good amount of time. Being voiceless and always wearing a mask makes hard to give him characterization. It wasn't until a couple of the last DIC episodes, "The Sword" and the two-parter "Long live Rock'n'roll", that Snake-Eyes got the main role, and even Scarlett declaring her feelings for him.
  • Poor Communication Kills: A lot of Snake-Eyes' problems would be avoided if not for this trope. Even when he's not incapable of speech, he apparently never bothers to use other methods of communication such as sign language, or even just writing.
  • Red Baron: "The Silent Master" of the Arashikage clan, "The High-Sierras´ Werewolf" for the locals near to his cabin.
  • Related in the Adaptation: He and Storm Shadow are half-brothers in G.I. Joe: Reloaded.
  • The Rival: Averted with Storm Shadow. He has been his Worthy Opponent in varied degrees for years. It's really Firefly and Slice who are closer to this.
  • Secret Art: Black-belt Master in 12 different combat systems thanks to his training by the Arashikage ninja clan.
  • Shout-Out:
    • In one issue of the comic he wore an Army dress uniform with sunglasses and a bandage mask, which made him look a bit like the Unknown Soldier.
    • Back in The '60s, Dell comics printed "Werewolf" note  about a formerly USAF Major turned a government sponsored Super-hero with an indestructible full-body suit and a wolf pet, this is how they looked.
  • The Speechless: The exact circumstances vary, but almost every continuity has established that he can't speak because of an injury rendering him mute. His mutism is Played for Laughs in Rise of Cobra.
Breaker: This is Snake-Eyes and he doesn't talk.
    Rip Cord: Why?
    Breaker: He doesn't say!
    • Aside from once saying Scarlett's name, pre-Joe S.E. once gave a whole sentence in ARAH #286.
  • Stronger Than They Look: From time to time, Snake-Eyes has displayed in some instances feats that border in the Super-Strength category.
    • In a Sunbow/Marvel episode, he simply performed a one-hand Neck Lift to a fully equipped Crimson Guardsman while Flint interrogated the mook.
    • In an America's Elite issue, he's seen lifting an at least 300 pounds unhinged armored door to protect team's hacker Firewall from a barrage of RPGs. He barely survived though.
  • Sword and Gun: An Uzi and a Sword/Spike-knuckled Trench knife.
  • Tranquil Fury: It's hinted that most of the time he's holding back, when he's angry he gets mean. Since he can't make so much as a whisper, it's entirely possibly that it would normally be of the more frothing-at-the-mouth type. Transformers vs. G.I. Joe has Snake-Eyes get back at Starscream for killing his family by leaping at the Decepticon's face, slashing open his left eye and shoving a grenade in it, causing the robot to stagger and fall off where he was into a pool of water.
  • The Unreveal: A pre-accident Snake-Eyes was seen in one issue of the comic set in Vietnam. His face was covered by a tilted-down hat. Hasbro made a figure of this version years later, preserving the secret by specially shading the eyes to create a permanent shadow over them.
  • The Voiceless: The Sunbow cartoon stands out as the one continuity where it isn't clarified on whether or not he can speak, with the fact that the cartoon never brought up his history established in the Marvel Comics continuity making it conceivable that his animated counterpart may be silent by choice rather than by necessity.
  • Wolverine Publicity: He's easily the most marketable Joe, is all over the ads for the various media, and has had sixty-eight separate action figures (with many more on the way). Cobra Commander, the character with the next-most figures, clocks in at fifty-six with Duke and Storm Shadow getting the bronze with fifty-one each. The comic was even retitled "GI Joe Starring Snake Eyes" near the end of its run, with "Snake Eyes" being the most prominent part of the logo. This goes as far as the cover to Classic GI Joe Vol. 1. The homage to issue 1 by J. Scott Campbell swaps Snake-Eyes in for Stalker running in front of the tank. Stalker is still on there… but he's been swapped in for Flash, while Rock'n'Roll takes the place of Zap.
  • Your Eyes Can Deceive You: Or any of your senses for that matter, that was the lesson Hard Master was teaching him the night he was slain.
  • You Killed My Father:
    • His rivalry with Storm Shadow because it looked like Storm killed his mentor.
    • Baroness hates him because she thinks he killed her brother (in fact, Snake-Eyes had killed the killers just as he'd been fatally shot). She only lets up when Destro informs her of this.
    • And Cobra Commander blames him for the car accident that killed his brother, and Snake-Eyes' sister, even though his brother was the one responsible.
