Animatronics

    In General
  • Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: Like in the original games, almost all of them are naked if not for a single bowtie, hat, bib, buttons, etc.
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: The original animatronics all ranged from uncanny-looking to literally nightmarish, as is par for the course in an horror series where they were meant to provide the scares. Here, they are all made into anthros that go from cartoonishly appealing to outright voluptuous and handsome. Even the ones less easy on the eyes, like Springtrap and mangled Mangle, are all drawn in the same style as the others and come off as Ugly Cute rather than the abominations they were in the games.
  • Adaptational Heroism: In the first season, Mangle, Foxy, Chica, Bonnie and (more reluctantly) Freddy are all this, as the story focuses on the latter four's efforts in rescuing Mangle and stopping Springtrap and Fredbear from having their revenge.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Aside from Fredbear, all the animatronics were hit with this. Some of them are outright Nice Guys like Bonnie, others are more of a Jerk with a Heart of Gold like Freddy, and others like Roxanne are just jerks altogether, but all of them are better than the murderous killing machines they were in the games. Even Springtrap is a case of this, since he may be a deplorable monster here too...but he's still not as bad as William "I'll willfully walk into a trap if it means I have the slightest chance of killing children" Afton.
  • Adaptational Species Change: They're still animatronics and all depict the same creatures as they did in the games, but here, all of them are sentient robots and none of them are possessed by vengeful undeads like most of them were in the original series.
  • Barbie Doll Anatomy: They're all accessory-wearing animal mascots like in the original, but are noticibly...more anatomically correct here. Still, no genitilia or nipples in sight, since they're robots and built to appeal to children.
  • A Lizard Named "Liz": As was the case in the original, most of them very much follow this children mascot convention: We have Bonnie the bunny, Chica the chicken, Foxy the pirate fox, the list goes on.
  • Ridiculously Human Robot: "Human" used very loosely here. All of them are animatronics who are not only sentient from the getgo, but also fully capable of emotions (including somehow tearing up) and feel pain. In the non canon shorts and art, whatever robotic realism the miniseries contained is thrown out the window altoghether and they are shown eating, puking up what they ate, getting drunk, getting a Cranial Eruption and even laying eggs.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: an In-Universe example. These guys were all built and designed to be children entertainers in a pizzeria and, unlike the uncanny robots in the games, they are all indeed appealing...even too appealing at times. The men generally look child-friendly, but the women are curvy Ms's Fanservice that would give moral guardians a heart attack. One can only assume they were built like that to make dad's stay at Freddy's more enjoyable.

    Mangle
A kind vixen animatronic that falls in love with Foxy the pirate fox, her name "starts making sense" after Chica mutilates her out of envy...It all goes downhill from there!
  • 6th Ranger: In-Universe, she seems to have been a late addition to the pizzeria's cast, as back in "the good ol' days" it seems there only were Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy. Out of Universe, she's the only member of the first season's protagonists to come from a game after the first FNAF.
  • Adaptational Gender Identity: From the utter ambiguity of their intended gender in the games (with their pronouns changing around multiple times in one sentence), here, she unambiguously identifies as a woman, and it definitely shows.
  • Adaptation-Induced Plot Hole: This time, she was called Mangle even when she was fully intact and is still called Mangle after Bonnie fixes her. Freddy even lampshades this, remarking that Chica "finally made her name make sense".
  • Ascended Extra: While more prominent an animatronic then others, even having their own minigame in Five Nights at Freddy's 3 and being the defacto mascot of Five Nights at Freddy's World, Mangle was still a secondary character more than anything in the original games. Here, she is pretty much the main protagonist, as the miniseries centers around her, her character arc, her friends' search for her and her role in Springtrap's scheme. She is also the 5th Ranger to the original 4 and is the most prominent second generation animatronic by a long shot.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She's normally a very kind girl, but being maimed into a mangled monstrousity by Chica briefly drives her off the deep, resulting in Mangle seeking revenge by murdering Chica with her bare claws. Hadn't it been for Foxy stepping in, Chica would've been done for...Don't piss off animatronic girls, kids!
  • Big Eater: Surprisingly, one Valentines artwork shows her messily eating a whole box of chocolates.
  • Blush Stickers: Among her other Tertiary Sexual Characteristics, she has these.
  • Body Horror: Thank God she's made of metal! After Chica "makes her name make sense", Mangle becomes an entangled...mangle of wires and steel. Her face, aside from a missing eye, is unscathed, but that arguably makes the end result even more unsettling: imagine being Foxy and seeing your girlfriend's face on a body like that!
  • Dark Action Girl: The only time she actually engages in combat in the series is during her brief time on the dark side, as she attempts to have her revenge on Chica, and we see that she's quite the terrifying, unstoppable opponent.
  • Eye Scream: The only real damage on her face after Chica's rampage is the loss of her left eye.
  • Foxy Vixen: An elegant vixen animatronic who's as much a Ms. Fanservice as any other girl in the series. It's a Downplayed trope both because she doesn't really have a flirty personality and is more of an Innocent Fanservice Girl, and also because she spends most of the story not looking sexy.
  • In the Hood: Mangle initially hides her disfigurement in a hooded purple robe.
  • Love at First Sight: We don't really know how long her and Foxy knew one another before the events of the miniseries, but in part 1 the start of their relationship amounts to this, as they look at one another and, without a word, embrace each other in a Big Damn Kiss.
  • Morality Pet: Even when she goes off the deep end and becomes murderously vengeful (and willing to harm innocents who get in her way), Foxy is still the world to him and the moment he steps in and gives her a sad look, she immediately snaps out of her Roaring Rampage of Revenge... it's a shame that Springtrap then uses this same love for Foxy to blackmail her into complete compliance.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Once she snaps out of her blind fury, she's immediately horrified by the fact she injured Bonnie and almost killed Chica, especially after finding out they both just wanted to fix her. She immediately runs away in shame as a result.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Subverted. In the games, “The Mangle” is a fully-earned nickname, while in this fan series it’s been Mangle’s real name from the beginning, which is noted to be odd fit considering the kind of girl she begins the series as — until Chica “mangling” her, and her subsequent vengeful reaction, makes it a lot more fitting.
  • Near-Villain Victory: She almost won in the very brief time she spent as an antagonist. At the end of part 5, she had Chica hopelessly within her grasp. If Foxy wasn't there to block Mangle's clawed hand as it descended on Chica, the vixen would've effortlessly gotten her revenge.
  • Nice Girl: Despite showing a darker side when she loses it over her mutilation from Chica, Mangle is a kind and considerate vixen by heart, and one could argue she had a justified reaction over the whole thing. She began the series by comforting Foxy over his breakup with Chica, deeply regrets her actions against her friends when snapping out of her rage, and chooses to show Springtrap forgiveness in what she believes are her final moments.
  • Pale Females, Dark Males: Mangle is the white and pink pale girl dressed in bright red to Foxy's crimson and dark tan dark boy dressed in brown.
  • Pink Means Feminine: She’s got pink accents to her white fur, including one that forms the shape of a heart on her chest, reflecting her sweet, romantic nature.
  • Revenge Before Reason: In her fury against Chica, she becomes blind with hatred and even ignores what's written on the manual Bonnie tries to show her to calm her down and destroys the blueprints needed to fix her up. She also failed to realize that the woman she was about to kill was her boyfriend's ex, and that Foxy wouldn't want his former love to die.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: After Chica dismembered her, Mangle snaps and sets out to either maim her in kind or kill her altogether, even knocking out Bonnie when he tries to intervene. She luckily snaps out of it as quickly as she snapped in.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Quite literally in her case. She’s normally every bit the romantic, gentle girl her normal appearance makes her out to be — but having her body destroyed reveals a versatile metal form and sharp claws, with which she is capable of being very dangerous.
  • Sweet Tooth: Valentines shorts and art show she at least loves chocolate.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Even though Springtrap makes it clear he intends to sacrifice her life to bring Fredbear back after telling her his backstory and true plan, she empathizes with him and tells him she forgives him regardless. It’s almost enough to make him reconsider the whole thing.

    Foxy
An abrasive but heroic pirate fox animatronic who spends the story searching for his missing love, Mangle.
  • Adaptational Nationality: Fitting his gimmick, Foxy talked like a pirate once he started being voiced in the games, a speech pattern that's based on Southwest British dialects. Here, he instead talks with a thick New York accent, probably because pirate speak wouldn't have been a good pick for a romantic drama.
  • Act of True Love: His relationship with Mangle started with Love at First Sight back when she still was a very beautiful and attractive girl and it seemed that love seemed to be built upon that at first. Then, after Chica dismembers Mangle, Foxy is horrified by the sight at first, but then proves his love for her is true by lovingly embracing her even as a mangled mess.
  • Amnesiac Hero: He’s ultimately reset by Springtrap in the final act of the series, losing all memories of himself, his friends, and Mangle, which is shown as irreversible in spite of Bonnie’s continuing efforts to fix him. The final episode ends on the hope he’ll get them back, or at least be able to start over with Mangle.
  • Anger Born of Worry: He spends the second act of the series determined to find Mangle and frustrated that she’s avoiding him, acting very blunt and tense during the band’s efforts to find her. When they reach the warehouse upon deducing it’s the only place she could've gone, he calls out for Mangle to stop doing this to them and come out so they can work things out.
  • Angry Animalistic Growl: Courtesy of his voice actor Timberpuppers, Foxy growls like a real fox would when he’s particularly angry, as seen in Part 15 when he’s facing down the two animatronics that took his love from him.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Like a true pirate, he has a pair of thick, brown eyebrows that would make the original games' Freddy blush.
  • Death Glare: After Mangle runs away, Foxy gives Chica one of these for a long moment, wordlessly conveying his anger over what she did to Mangle and causing this whole mess.
  • Extreme Mêlée Revenge: In Part 15, he turns Springtrap into meat on a skewer for what he did to Mangle.
  • Fiery Redhead: He’s a red-furred fox with a bold, impetuous attitude and one hell of a protective streak when it comes to his friends — especially towards his girlfriend Mangle, as Springtrap learns intimately.
  • Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal: Noticeably, he's the only member of the main cast to wear pants at all, while his torso is all but bare.
  • Innocently Insensitive: While being startled by such a sight is somewhat understandable, his initial horrified reaction to Mangle's new, mutilated appearance wounded the poor girl and contributed to her self-loathing. However, he made up with her shortly after, letting her know he still loves her as his girlfriend.
  • Mr. Fanservice: He is bold and manly with a slim yet robust Heroic Build and never puts on any shirt to cover all that. No character here wears a shirt, yes, but the fact he specifically is an Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal wearing pants makes his shirtlessness stand out even more (for the better).
  • Pale Females, Dark Males: Foxy is the crimson and dark tan dark boy dressed in brown to Mangle's white and pink pale girl dressed in bright red.
  • Understanding Boyfriend: Subverted initially — he’s at first shocked and horrified by Mangle’s appearance after Chica mutilates her, but he soon gets over it and lovingly assures Mangle his feelings for her remain. Played Straight when he stops her from destroying Chica and Bonnie in a blind rage — in spite of what she assumes after the fact, he isn’t angry with her in the slightest, immediately recognizing that she wasn’t herself and regrets what she did.
  • Undying Loyalty: He doesn’t care what Mangle looks like, or if she’s got a darker side that proves to be murderous when provoked — he truly loves her, and won’t let anything come between them. In the end, it seems being reset and losing his memories couldn’t stop those feelings, either.

    Chica
A determined chicken animatronic and Foxy's ex, she mutilates his new girlfriend, Mangle out of envy, but immediately comes to regret it and sets out to fix her grave mistake.
  • The Atoner:Her whole arc is about making amends for her crime against Mangle by finding her and fixing her back up with help from the others.
  • Decoy Protagonist: The series starts off with her in the main focus, showing her descent into envy over Foxy and Mangle's new relationship, the horrifying measures she takes as revenge and then her quest to atone for it as she seeks a way to fix Mangle (with some ship-teasing between her and Bonnie sprinkled in). Then, at the introduction of Springtrap, Chica's role as protagonist shifts to Mangle as the vixen has to face the villain's blackmailing. By the end Foxy establishes himself as the most determined in the search for Mangle and Springtrap's de facto archenemy, Bonnie is the one to fix Mangle and try to do the same for a reset Foxy and even late-party-joiner Freddy is the one to take down the Big Bad Fredbear, making Chica just a secondary character in the second half of the series.
  • Give Geeks a Chance: After having broken up with the manly pirate Foxy, her Second Love ends up being the sensitive machinery geek Bonnie.
  • Green-Eyed Monster:After breaking up with Foxy, she's distraught to see him bounce back and get with Mangle. At that point, she goes mad with envy and makes Mangle's name "make sense"...she quickly regrets it.
  • Machete Mayhem: She uses a machete to dismember Mangle...one she somehow found somewhere inside a pizzeria.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: She immediately snaps out of her envious rampage and is horrified to see the damage she inflicted on Mangle, running away tear-eyed. After seeing how much this upset Mangle's boyfriend Foxy, Chica grows even more remorseful, shedding all the bitterness she had left for him in particular and sets off to make things right.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Starts donning these as the marker of her descent into her envy-fueled madness. She fittngly loses these and goes back to her natural pink eyes immediately after seeing just what she's done.

    Bonnie
An agreeable bunny animatronic who accepts to use his engineering skills to fix up Mangle, and ends up being dragged into all the chaos that ensues.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: The original Bonnie was just a kid in an animatronic suit, and didn't even have that clever an AI behaviour compared to other animatronics such as Freddy or Foxy. Here, he's the team's local smart guy with good knowledge in robotics that makes him indispensable in the story.
  • Adaptational Wimp: In the original games, Bonnie was as fearsome as you'd expect a robot his size to be: if he got to you, it was game over and even with no face and one arm, he was a force to be reckoned with. Then there's the novels, where Bonnie and the other animatronics are straight up terminators. Here, however, Bonnie is definitely all brains and no brawn and his greatest physical feat is briefly inconveniencing Mangle by hitting her with a book.
  • Lovable Nerd: He's an engineering geek who is definitely no Foxy when it comes to strength or confidence, but he's also reliable, forgiving, helpful and kind.
  • The Medic: Since he's a robot surrounded by other robots and a mechanics geek, he is this to the team. He uses his engineer prowess to help with fixing Mangle and to try to bring Foxy back from amnesia.
  • Nice Guy: Aside from laughing at a really tasteless joke from Freddy, he's easily the nicest character in the story with none of the others' jerkish aspects or brief fall to the dark side. He's a good guy always willing to lend a hand, and won't hold it against you if you knock him out in an attempt to kill his crush out of vengeful wrath.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Subverted hard. He is a purple bunny, and easily the least physically powerful member of the cast, Chica included.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: In a series where a character suddenly getting red eyes is bad news, he subverts it by being the one main character with permanently red eyes and also a complete sweetheart.
  • Throw the Book at Them: He briefly saves Chica from Mangle's clutches by hitting her with the book containing her blueprints.

    Freddy Fazbear
A sardonic bear animatronic and the current owner of the pizzeria, he initially sits back and watches all the drama unfold, until he's convinced to help out, unaware that he'll run into old friends.
  • Alone Among the Couples: While all his friends have their own romantic shenanigans going on, he’d seemingly much rather have his paperwork for company.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He’s grumpy with his band mates and has often acts like he has little regard for their issues, but he reveals a much more protective side once things get serious.
  • Big Brother Is Watching: Up until episode 11, the watches everything unfold from the security system while remaining neutral to the situation until before Foxy, Chica and Bonnie convince him to help them find Mangle.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He’s a Mean Boss and a cynical workaholic who at first brushes off the Mangle situation and has to be pestered into helping out by the others. But once Springtrap shows up, revealing the full gravity of the situation, its shown he cares a lot more about his friends than he lets on, and is even the one to get through to Mangle by reminding her of how much Foxy loved her.
  • Large and in Charge: He’s the biggest animatronic in the series behind Fredbear, and is owner and manager of the pizzeria, having a position of authority among his bandmates.
  • The Scrooge: He was literally made into the iconic character for a Christmas Special.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: He took several small parts from Fredbear when building his bandmates, somehow getting the latter’s Personality Chip mixed up with them — which he then repurposed as Mangle’s chip, leading to her becoming the most important piece of Springtrap’s vengeance scheme.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Foxy — the two are pretty snarky with each other, with Foxy often making fun of Freddy’s workaholism, but the two seem to be close regardless, with the latter revealed to understand Foxy's love for Mangle better than anyone else in the Pizzeria. He notably has the most distraught reaction after Mangle to Foxy getting reset.
  • Workaholic: An especially stingy type, working hard to keep the Pizzeria running after hours, even having a “do not disturb” sign on his office door.

    Springtrap
A vengeful, decaying bunny animatronic and the main antagonist of the miniseries, he used to be an entertainer in the pizzeria alongside his friend Fredbear, until a brutal falling out with Freddy lead to Fredbear's death and Springtrap's banishment.

Springtrap, however, remained in the building, hiding in the darkness of the old warehouse, and spent years plotting his revenge. When a dismayed Mangle runs off to hide in "his kingdom", the villain sees his opportunity arise.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Internally, he is much, much nicer in the various shorts and artworks by Tony, where he ranges from off-putting and insane but harmless to outright adaptationally heroic, such as when he befriended a couple of chipmunks.
  • Adaptational Sympathy: He's slimy, murderous, fueled by pure spite and loves to kick people when they're down, but all that is enough to be a better guy than William Afton, as this Springtrap at least has a mildly sympathetic backstory and was once a good, if spineless guy, he does care for Frebear to some degree (the most William had was some very, very arguable care for his daughter Elizabeth) and nothing really indicates Springtrap would've harmed children if his plans succeeded, while with William, slaughtering children was the whole plan.
  • Adaptational Wimp:Springtrap in the games was a murderous animatronic abomination who wanted to kill you himself with his bare undead hands (later hand, then hands again somehow). Even before becoming Springtrap, William Afton managed to singlehandedly ambush and dismantle the animatronics one by one. This Springtrap is all in on the scheming, manipulating and taunting, but doesn't even attempt to fight anyone and, considering he shares Bonnie's build, it probably wouldn't end well for him if he tried to wrestle Foxy, Freddy or even Mangle. Played with when it comes to overall resilience, as The Stinger shows this Springtrap shares the original's ability to never die for good.
  • Animal Motifs: Cockroaches. For years his only real company in the old warehouse has been a pet cockroach he's tamed and even learned to communicate with it seems. Springtrap himself has some similarities to cockroaches, being a creep who's hidden within the darkness of Freddy's warehouse like a pest, festering and rotting, and his two bunny ears even somewhat look like antennae. Lastly, Springtrap is unfortunately as difficult to get rid of as cockroaches are, having simply sneaked his way back into the pizzeria when Freddy tried to banish him and later displaying the cockroach's proverbial indestructibility when he somehow survives Foxy impaling him with his hook and carries on living in his "kingdom", sealed away.
  • And Now You Must Marry Me: Springtrap forces Mangle to “marry” him, wedding ring and all, as part of his plan to get revenge on Freddy.
  • Black Eyes of Evil: When he wants a particular dramatic emphasis on some word he utters, his scleras will very briefly turn dark alongside his voice getting deeper. Considering just who he is, this doubles as Black Eyes of Crazy.
  • Body Horror: Years of going unkempt and rotting in the warehouse behind the restaurant has essentially turned him into a living corpse that somehow manages to stay functional, even using the numerous holes in his flesh as pockets. He’s so decayed that Foxy is able to drive his hook arm through his torso with little issue.
  • The Dreaded: Springtrap understands he's become this when he draws a gasp from Mangle just by telling her who he was. Clearly Freddy didn't tell the others flattering tales about the guy who assisted in his attempted murder.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Bonnie.
    • Both are rabbit animatronics who are almost identical in appearance safe for different "fur" colors, different faces, wearing different accessories and Bonnie not being covered in Body Horror. On a meta level, they also happen to share the same voice actor.
    • Both are not really fighters, at all, but make up for it with keen brains and a proficiency with all things mechanical. However, Bonnie is a Lovable Nerd who uses his abilities to try to fix Mangle and later Foxy while Springtrap is an Evil Genius and uses his technological know-how to blackmail Mangle into cooperating lest he resets Foxy's entire personality chip and plans to remove Mangle's robotic equivalent of a soul to revive his even more dangerous friend Fredbear.
    • In his flashback, Springtrap turns out to have once been as jovial as Bonnie but also as meek. However, Bonnie is sometimes able to stand his ground for the sake of protecting his friends, even if it usually ends badly, while Springtrap used to be such a pushover for Fredbear that he even reluctantly went along with the latter attempt to murder Freddy in cold blood. Springtrap also Grew a Spine, but in the worst possible way, as he turned into a controlling and violent psychopath.
    • Both had a conflict with Foxy: It's self-explanatory why Foxy would have beef with the bunny who threatened to and eventually did erase the fox's mind so that Mangle, Foxy's girlfriend, would go along with Springtrap's plans which lead to essentially her temporary death and Springtrap being impaled by a furious Foxy's hook as retaliation; Bonnie also had a minor rivalry with Foxy, briefly thinking there could still be a thing between him and Bonnie's crush Chica and the bold fox taking over discussions the meek bunny tried in vein to join certainly didn't help. Springtrap ended up becoming Foxy's nemesis outright and spent (what he thought would be) his final moments taking Foxy with him by resetting his mind. Meanwhile, Bonnie never even disliked Foxy the aforementioned reasons he could have and, at the end of the series, is still trying his all to undo Springtrap's final act of spite and bring Foxy back.
    • The main difference between the two is that Bonnie is the single most forgiving and kind character in the series, immediately forgiving Chica for having mutilated Mangle and Mangle herself for having tried to kill Chica. Compare this with Springtrap, who functions as the ultimate example of how thirst for Revenge will turn you into a monstrous, lowly excuse for a human be-animatronic.
  • Evil Is Petty: Oh boy. It’s one thing to hold a violent grudge towards Freddy over Fredbear’s accidental death, but his actions against Foxy and Mangle, which include using Mangle's love for Foxy against her, taunting Foxy over the loss of his love, and then erasing the latter’s memories in his last moments out of nothing but spite shows just how much of an utter asshole this Springtrap is.
  • Fate Worse than Death: The Stinger at the end of the series shows he somehow survived Foxy’s impalement, but is now locked inside the warehouse forever with only Fredbear’s lifeless body for company, with nothing left to do but completely lose his mind.
  • Foil:
    • To his de facto archenemy, Foxy. Both are animatronic entertainers who are (or, at least, were) popular with children and are determined to get a loved one back, be it Mangle, who's on the run, for Foxy or Fredbear, who's been dead for years, for Springtrap. The similarities end there.
      • Foxy is an ultimately good-natured fox animatronic who is a loyal, heroic man under his rough exterior, while Springtrap is a despicable bunny animatronic who initially tries to conceal his cruel nature under a polite veneer.
      • Foxy is a punch-first-think-second brash man who can really bruise you in a fight but shows to know little to nothing about technology, which, on the flipside, is the brilliant Springtrap's field of competence, as he definitely is no fighter.
      • Foxy is against revenge and is there to reason with Mangle right when the latter was about to vengefully kill Chica and reach a point of no return, and Foxy later forgives the chicken for all the trouble she's caused him and Mangle; compare to Springtrap, a machine fuelled by nothing but revenge.
      • Springtrap is a Cold Ham who tries to always act dramatically villainous, being a Soft-Spoken Sadist "ruling" over "a kingdom"; Foxy is a loud-mouthed New-Yorker who is blunt, no-nonsense and wants everything to be done with already, com'on!
      • Foxy is truly in love with Mangle, through health and mutilation, and is hell-bent on getting her back; Springtrap only pretends he gives a damn about "marrying" her so that he has her where he needs her in his scheme to get Fredbear back, his true goal.
    • Both him and Chica allowed their spite and envy to get the better of them, but once Chica snaps out of it, something Springtrap never mustered, the two of them are nothing alike, as she's a lady who can bring some real hurt with a machete, while Springtrap is a villainous Non-Action Guy and while Chica is responsible enough to see that she was responsible for everything in the series, Springtrap is not so humble and wants to destroy Freddy and everything he holds dear as revenge for Fredbear's death, which Fredbear himself caused, and goes out blaming Freddy for his own descent into villainy. They are also both forgiven by Mangle for having harmed her: this leads to her and Chica rekindling her friendship, while Springtrap brushes off this chance at redemption and goes through with harming Mangle further.
  • Friend to All Children: Hilariously, considering he's an adaptation of Springtrap, the alter ego of William Afton. He's shown to have loved playing around with children back when he was an animatronic entertainer in the pizzeria. He probably wouldn't be half as friendly to them nowadays, however...
  • Go-Karting with Bowser: In the series, he's pretty much the Archenemy to Foxy due to how much crap Springtrap put Mangle through, and him and Foxy having mutually attempted to kill the other. In a Saint Patrick's Day artwork, however, Springtrap and Foxy are seen sharing a sip and partying together like they're good chums. The fact they're both clearly wasted is probably how this could even come to be.
  • Green and Mean: Springtrap’s fur has always been a weird greenish shade, and got worse thanks to years of decay, and spending all that time stewing in isolation and obsession with vengeance has made him...not a great guy.
  • Hypocrite: We see in his flashback that even at his best, Springtrap was a Sycophantic Servant who changed his mind on a whim based on what pleased Fredbear. When Freddy eagerly explains his big plans for the pizzeria, Springtrap initially looks like he's liking his ideas, until he turns around to see that Fredbear looks less than enthusiastic, by which point the bunny changes his supportive smile to a questioning, unamused look.
  • I Have You Now, My Pretty: Springtrap blackmails Mangle into marrying him by threatening to reset Foxy, making her the “Queen” of his warehouse kingdom. This does end up being Subverted as his reason for doing this wasn’t out of any attraction towards her — he just needed her to put on the ring that would activate Fredbear’s chip from inside of her and transfer his essence back into his body.
  • I Have Your Boyfriend: He ultimately gets Mangle to "marry" him by threatening her with a remote that would erase her love Foxy's entire self.
  • Kick the Dog: He just couldn’t resist offering taunting “condolences” to Foxy over Mangle’s loss, even claiming that all he really did was put her out of her misery. Unfortunately for him though, he just succeeded at making the fox angrier.
  • Lean and Mean: He shares Bonnie's very slender frame, but none of his kindness.
  • Never My Fault:
    • Well, never Fredbear's fault at least. He wants to get revenge on Freddy for Fredbear’s death and for banishing him from the restaurant...completely overlooking that Fredbear was killed entirely because he made the roof cave in on himself when attempting to bash Freddy’s head in with a hammer, who did nothing but dodge — and Springtrap, for his part, willingly went along with it in spite of his reluctance.
    • He uses what he thought would've been his last words to rub salt in Freddy's wound after erasing Foxy's memory and tell Freddy that he had made Springtrap a monster by "killing" Fredbear and banishing him, as if it wasn't Springtrap's own choice to devote the rest of his life plotting revenge until his obsession drove him Ax-Crazy and made him refuse redemption when Mangle offered it to him.
  • Red Herring: His proposal to Mangle, in which he forces her to “marry” him under threat of resetting Foxy, makes you think that he’s got a creepy Villainous Crush on the girl and is a rival to Foxy for Mangle’s love. Then he explains his backstory and reveals Fredbear's rebuilt body, and it turns out his true motivation is bringing his friend back to enact their vengeance on Freddy and take back their Pizzeria. All he wants from Mangle is the essence of Fredbear’s Personality Chip contained within her, the engagement ring he gave her simply being a device that will transfer that essence.
  • Sadistic Choice: He offers Mangle one: either she betrays her love for Foxy by marrying Springtrap and becoming "his queen", or the latter will press a button and erase her boyfriend's mind. Mangle tearfully chooses the first option.
  • Taking You with Me: A non-lethal example...not physically anyway. While dying from Foxy’s stab wound, he decides to activate the latter’s reset remote, completely erasing the fox's mind.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: He seemed like a pretty nice, friendly entertainer for children in his past...but Fredbear’s death, his banishment from the Pizzeria and years stewing in decay and vengeance turned him into the creepy, conniving villain he is today.
  • We Can Rule Together: He states this word for word to Mangle when he first “proposes” to her, trying to appeal to the girl’s loneliness. But after he gets her to agree via blackmail, he reveals this was never his desire — it was just a red herring so she wouldn’t ask any questions about his real plans for her.
  • Xanatos Gambit: His attempts at charming Mangle fell flat (which they very much did)? Plan B: pulling out a remote that will erase Foxy's memories and person with the push of a button if Mangle doesn't comply!
  • Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness: he has yellow eyes that, at various points, are the only thing visible about him as he lurks in the darkness, plotting his devious vengeance.

    Fredbear (SPOILERS UNMARKED)
A brutish bear animatronic, and the former owner of the pizzeria, he is the ultimate threat of the miniseries.

After trying to resolve business disagreements with Freddy by attempting to murder the latter, Fredbear ended up crushed by a collapsed ceiling and remained off-line for years...until his old friend Springtrap put him back together, and eventually brought him back once he found the last remaining component.

  • Arch-Enemy: To Freddy, wanting nothing more than to finish what he started and kill the other bear for their disagreements over the need for changes to the Fredbear/Fazbear restaurant.
  • Ax-Crazy: Or, Hammer crazy. He was perfecting willing to resort to murder before his death, and he’s even more unhinged when Springtrap brings him back.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He’s even more of a monstrous beast when brought back to life, but he does legitimately still care about his best friend Springtrap, enough to forgo his vengeance on Freddy when he sees Foxy mortally wound him.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: He does genuinely care about Springtrap, but the latter went along with whatever he wanted to an unhealthy degree, including attempting to murder Freddy in cold blood. His actions set Springtrap on his path to becoming the monster he is today.
  • Same Character, But Different: The Fredbear from the series and the Fredbear from Tony’s one-off FNAF shorts are, in personality, completely different characters — with the series Fredbear being a hammer-happy violent brute and the shorts Fredbear being a huggable, friendly Gentle Giant.
  • Villainous Friendship: With Springtrap, which is his sole redeeming quality.

     Toy Bonnie
A mischievous rabbit animatronic, he spends his time pranking the other animatronics (usually targeting Toy Freddy, often accidentally getting Toy Chica) and simply having fun.

    Toy Chica
A pretty chicken animatronic and the mother figure to her cupcake...hopefully nothing bad happens to either.

    Toy Freddy
A bear animatronic who is often the target of Toy Bonnie's shenanigans.
  • Patriotic Fervor: He clearly loves America, as one 4th of July artwork shows him in stars and stripes clothing and with a bald eagle on his arm...sinking its claws into it and making him tear up in pain.

     The Puppet
A mysterious marionette who appears to be a scholar.
  • Ambiguous Gender: In the original she was possessed by the ghost of Charlie Emily, a little girl. Here, they're The Voiceless and don't have as unambiguously gendered an appearance as the other animatronics, so whatever gender identity they may have is anyone's guess.
  • Demoted to Extra: One of the main players behind the events of the original games, the one behind the ghostly possessions across the series and arguably the Big Good is turned into a character that appears for a few seconds in a non canon christmas episode. They don't even appear physically, but only in picture form!

     Ballora
A humanoid ballerina animatronic and Springtrap's non-canon love interest...who is perhaps too interested in him.

     Funtime Foxy
A deceptively adorable vixen animatronic Foxy runs into one Halloween.

Others

    The Watcher (SPOILERS UNMARKED)
The Security Guard is a surprise character that makes a brief appearance at the end of the full movie in an extra scene, simply remarking that all he's just witnessed through the security cameras was "so cheesy".
  • Lack of Empathy: After witnessing all of the heartbreak, mutilations, attempted murders, tragedy and loss that unfolded across the story through the security cameras, an unamused security guard simply dismisses it all as "cheesy".
  • Self-Deprecation: His sole line is him mocking the entire story as "so cheesy".
  • Token Human: Aside from the children in Springtrap's flashbacks, he's the only human we see in the series at all.
