Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Ask the Tropers is for:

openWeirdly cropped image
Animesque's page image contains a weirdly cropped speech bubble, cutting it in half. Should I take it to Image Pickin'?
openincompatible tropes
- Getting Crap Past the Radar: One of the collectible trophies in Scorching Sandpaper Desert (Desert Tower) appears rather phallic. The trophy is No. 69.
- Accidental Innuendo: The Desert Towers are meant to resemble very tall Toads. This unfortunately results in a very phallic looking tower. Said tower also happens to be Collectible Treasure #69.
I believe these are incomplete tropes as one is intentional and the other isn't. Thoughts?
openRedlink work pages.
I want to know if its ok to make redlinks of works that don't have a page yet on the off chance they do one day?
Edited by WhirlRXopenRecap Pages Need Help
There are a few Recap pages that are missing some episode pages (i.e. Dragon Tales) and could use some help. Would anyone here like to create more episode pages? (I'd recommend being as detailed as possible and including as many tropes as possible.)
openWorld Building Namespace
There are currently 44 pages under the namespace of "World Building". They...well...I'm not even sure what they are. Some of them just seem to be... idk, part of something called JustForFun.World Creation Project, but others aren't indexed in that list and may or may not be roleplays.
I'm not entirely sure it should exist, so what do we do? (Courtesy Link)
openPossible Character-centric Entry Pimping? Videogame
This has been a thing that bugged me for a while, but does anyone else feel that a lot of the entries under Lunafreya's folder on the Final Fantasy XV - Other Allies page come off as shoehorning? Especially considering that while she's a divisive Base-Breaking Character rather than The Scrappy, the part where she's considered to be a Flat Character with minimal screentime is largely unanimous and the divide comes down to whether she was always a shallow and uninteresting character or whether she was originally a rounder character whose depth was all cut out of the game. Hence most of the entries (which were made before the novel that finally fleshes her out was released) come on the back of what appears to be Fan Wank extrapolations rather than supported by the primary text of the game, considering she has so little dialogue, even less interacting with others.
A few of them come from the Kingsglaive movie, which is where the bulk of her screentime and character depth come from, but is also known for being basically a different character from her in-game portrayal. But others seem to be attempting to spin something meaningful out of offhand comments from the flatter in-game depiction that don't actually manifest meaningfully into tropes. I personally don't remember a lot of these entries from when I played it, and at best some of these even appear to be the result of the rather chaotic and inconsistent promotion for the game that often contradicted itself.
Edited by AlleyOopopenMandalorian Woobies Live Action TV
How come Sandbox. The Woobie Discussion Dates lists the date for The Mandalorian as "TBA"? The first season ended seven months ago; do we need to wait until the show is all done to add entries, or did someone just forget to write a date?
openUnexplained Hats
Benevolent Abomination has only been on the TLP for a day maximum, and yet has 6 hats. I sincerely can't fathom why. Not only is one of the examples under a lot of dispute right now, it's an undercooked draft with a redlink in the description and no explanation given for any of the hats.
I smell something fishy.
open spam bad drafts
Red Orangutan has made four different stub drafts on the TLP. In like an hour. Two of which (God is Overrated and Godhater) are a Yes, We DO Have This One, all of them have no laconic and a one sentence summary, and not a single example.
Oh and this troper has never made an edit before so they're probably new. Fishy as hell.
Edited by AppleChildopenIs there a general work page cleanup?
Title. I wanted to see if someone already made a page for the Cartoon Network pilot short Trick Moon, and there is... but it's in very bad shape out the gate. All the examples are a sentence each and do a poor job of explaining, and I'm sure the description is plagiarized from an official blurb due to the way it's written, especially when compared to the examples. It's also kind of in the wrong namespace, as it was released online first and thus falls under Web Animation. I'm curious if there's somewhere I could take it for opinions/help.

Can anyone add to or change the pantheon pages? Or are they like the Complete Monster page where you need permission first?
openThe Day the Music Died Redirect
Why does The Day The Music Died redirect to The Day the Music Lied?
The two don't seem to be related other than the trope name being a reference to the line from American Pie
openRejected Trope Titles
Any chance I’m the first person to suggest a humorous Darth Wiki page full of rejected titles for real tropes?
e.g. Skywalker Syndrome.
openVideoGame.Catherine Shin Megami Tensei Spinoff issue
Hey,
Troper The Extractor removed the game Catherine from the Shin Megami Tensei franchise page saying it wasn't spin off, without consulting anyone, despite a note that it was brought up on ATT before and deemed to meet the site's criteria for a spinoff. Here's the original argument for it meeting the critera for being a spinoff:
Is there any issue with re-adding it to the franchise page? Does anyone feel it doesn't meet the site's definition of a spinoff? Anything I'm overlooking here?
Edit: Also troper has similar edits to Save Aqua XIII, who previously started an edit war on this and a number of other pages, and was suspended in August. What should I do if this is a case of suspension evasion?
Edited by ashlayopenTroper creating - and indexing! - numerous blank Radar subpages
J Beltran 95 has been creating blank Radar subpages for animated works and then adding the blank pages to the Radar indices.
- Radar.Hotel Transylvania 2
- Radar.Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2
- Radar.Hotel Transylvania 3 Summer Vacation
- Radar.The Casagrandes
- Radar.Spiderman Into The Spiderverse
- Radar. The Secret Life Of Pets
- Radar.The Secret Life Of Pets 2
- Radar.Tuca And Bertie (this one is aimed at adults for chrissakes)
- Radar.The Angry Birds Movie
- Radar.The Angry Birds Movie 2
these are all from the past two months, and im sure there's more before them, but that's enough examples to demonstrate.
this is a hell of a mess to clean up. all of these pages are going to have to be sussed out, cut, and removed from the indices. basically every one of Beltran's edits on a Radar page is highly suspect, and i don't have time to go through them all.
openFlowersnf
Flowersnf keeps making low-quality TLP drafts and I think they might need a tap on the shoulder about it. Here's a few of their recent ones:
- Blue Is Violent: No description, empty folders, and a trope that boils down to "Villain wears blue sometimes".
- Calmer and Milder, which apparently had the description get stolen from someone else's draft.
- Even Better Expansion which has 4 phantom hats and I still don't know why.
- Autism Theory, which was discarded after being abandoned.
- Bronze Is Brown, which they discarded immediately after I pointed out the flaws with it.
While they've made decent drafts before, they seem to just be really lazy when they create TLP drafts, either making the bare-minimum effort to give it a description or examples, or being shadier about it (empty folders, stealing from other drafts, potential sockpuppet hats).
Edited by WarJay77openBan On Politics only has one on-page example?
Ban on Politics seems to be doing okay in terms of wicks (about 96 links) but it only has one foldered Live Action Film example. Is that allowed? I supposed we could easily move some of the examples on works pages to the main page if needed.
Edited by mightymewtron
TripleTV95 inexplicably removed several names from NeverLiveItDown.American Football, and given at least two of the names are removed several times I'm assuming he had a filter on while editing.
