Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Ask the Tropers:
openRandom page lock
New trope Superstitious Sailors got randomly locked, and the various ways around the lock aren't working. Is this a new glitch, or was it actually genuinely locked for some reason?
openNot Irony.
Tempest Knight made an edit on Irony that alleges that Japan got off easy after World War II and were far worse than Nazi Germany (an edit he put down at first but eventually deleted called the nukings a slap on the wrist, which makes me go "What the hell?"). It's not even irony, just complaining.
I know it's only one edit I'm reporting, but he's made so many of these weird edits in the past that I can't ignore it.
openShould I move? Western Animation
For Chibi Avatar, the Avatar wiki calls them "Super Deformed Shorts". Also, as they were originally DVD extras rather than online, should the page be moved to WesternAnimation.Avatar Super Deformed Shorts?
openfolder name changes
beingsneaky been changing the Anime and Manga folders in tropes into hentai.
openAlphabetizing trope pages
I've been adding wicks for a work page I made and in the process I've been alphabetizing parts of trope pages I come across, but as I was looking through forum posts on the subject it seems the general rule is to keep trope pages organized from oldest added example to newest. The thing is, said forum posts are from around 2011 at the latest, and I've noticed most newer trope pages have their examples alphabetized. Is the older standard still in effect, or has it since been changed?
open Necessary Recap? Live Action TV
Do we really need a Recap page for Big Brother, like the first season?
open Creator YMMV Pages
Is this page pushing the boundary between troping works associated with the creator and troping the creator himself?
openRecently launched trope too similar to already established trope
I found the recently launched Enclosed Extraterrestrials — judging from the timestamps on the comments of the TLP draft, it was hastily launched — and when I read it I immediately thought the idea was already covered by Little Green Man in a Can. Do I take this to the Trope Repair Shop?
openTitle capitalization policy
Is there an official standard for this? Everything but prepositions, articles, and conjunctions? Also, does not capitalizing a word in the title affect CamelCase when launching a TLP?
openThe old Nightmare Fuel text
I've noticed that the WMG and Funny/Awesome/Heartwarming pages have unique text for their pages. I just had two questions to ask for the former Nightmare Fuel page text before the site's overhaul: 1) What was the text/print called (text/print like Times New Roman, Verdana, Comic Sans, etc.) and 2) Will it return? (I hope so as it gave the pages an even creepier feel to it).
openForum move Web Original
Could someone move my "3D Visual Novel "The Midnight Sanctuary"" forum to the Visual Novels section, please?
openMeme Tropes
Okay, so Ascended Meme is for a meme that fans coined for a work, that wasn't in the work originally, making it into the work later. Meme Acknowledgement is when the creators acknowledge the meme outside the show. So what's trope for when something in the work goes memetic, and the work later starts referencing its memetic status?
The particular example I'm asking for is Final Fantasy XV. Ignis, the party cook, exclaims "I've come up with a new recipe!" whenever that happens. The line went memetic with the spelling "I've come up with a new recipeh". The spelling was later used in-game for Ignis' "Quick Recipeh" skill that was added with his DLC episode, and a joke in the Royal Edition release of the game includes Gladiolus prompting Ignis to use the catchphrase when they catch a new type of fish, and Ignis replies "I hate to disappoint, but I already had a recipeh in mind."
Edited by DrakeClawfangopenHow to remove a crowner entry?
I started a crowner about the title proposals for this draft, and I'm trying to delete one of the title proposals (Sparks of Love), yet there's no option to it. Reasons why I'm removing it is the title seems to be already thematically taken by Flames of Love, and it might have potential confusion with it.
I had considered striking it, yet it ended up as a blank entry after editing it), so I just add a disclaimer to it. Is simply editing it into a "Disregard this" a simple solution, or can mods only delete an entry, especially if it's a double post?
Please and thank you in advance.

Edited by alnair20aug93open Page name formatting. Literature
I have just created a page for You Are Dead (Sign Here Please), but the title should read "You Are Dead (Sign Here Please)". I recall there was a way to request that kind of change, but I don't remember what or where it is. Anyone got a clue?
open The New '10s
Do I feel like the page is getting long... and complain-ey? I may be not American, yet with these tropes such as Medal of Dishonor that disses Trump or sociopolitical-related tropes unlike any other decade-related tropes before it (Turn of the Millennium was a crappy decade on its own, yet there are only a few tropes that dissed Bush), and judging from the discussion section, it kinda adds more fuel to this already tense second-half-of-the-decade.
Does this page need a cleanup?

Edited by alnair20aug93openTLP not saving
I made a TLP and it won't save the changes I'm trying to make (adding the "l" to We ARE Struggling Together). It might be a length problem, since the save button only appears if I zoom out.
Wait, now it's saving the changes, but stays in the greyed-out state (and the save button is onscreen now).
Edited by Chabal2openDoes this make sense? If so, can I add it? Anime
Under the page known as Unconscious Objector, I was going to add a particular moment in the Freezing anime on episode 7. Arnett had Satellizer beaten to the point of death and then Satellizer stood back up and was able to get the upper hand on Arnett even with her being unconscious. Does that count?
openQuestion
Aside for spam and vandalism protection, I wonder why we can't edit a blank Main Page anymore? I'm adding it for Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things.
In the anime section for the recap page for My Hero Academia a troper took the time to put a brief recap sentence after every episode title. Is this really needed when they pretty much overlap with what's said in the actual recap pages for each episode?
