I don't agree that everything on Fan-Speak should go on YMMV, especially when it's stuff with direct evidence in canon, like Executive Meddling. That said, most of them are indeed subjective and should be tagged as such.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"@Deboss— yessir, it is.
Fast Eddie blanked and locked the Trivia page. The only tropes currently with a trivia banner are Hey Its That Voice and Hey Its That Guy. Were all the other proposals rejected?

Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.Bumping, I am now curious about this^ too.
yeah, just noticed that too.
So are we going with this "migrate trivia-esque tropes to Trivia" thing from the last page or no?
Stomping on your fingers as you're clinging on to the abyssCan we please get back on track with this. We really need those trivia banners soon.
Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.Bump. Bump. Bump.
Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.I ran into a page today that had a Trivia tab (with Hey, It's That Voice on it) that has since been deleted and the tropes returned to the main page. Did we scrap this idea? I can't find discussion of it.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.That would have been an incorrect thing to do. Which article?

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yeah, we need to see if maybe it was done by Fast Eddie or something before we revert.
But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold.On the Mahou Sensei Negima trivia its currently just a bunch of assorted stuff that was pulled off the Character pages because of the Space Limitations that pages have now... I am currently going though it and organizing it by character Negima Trivia (sandbox) if we are shoving tropes there should I stop? (This was a solution decided in the Negima Forum thread)

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Trivia is supposed to be for things like Actor Allusion, Shout-Out, Hey Its That Guy, What Could Have Been and similar metadata about a work.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yes, if you don't have enough room on the character sheet then you need to split the character sheet, not throw it on trivia.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThats what I always said but nope everyone said it cluttered the pages but still wanted the info around somewhere on T Vtropes so >< The massive "All There in the Manual", everyone's Personality Blood Types. Artifact of Power (with translations of the Latin used on them), Japanese School Club, Boss Subtitles, Nicknames and Alises, have been consistently pulled off the pages in pieces for a year and thrown into the trivia 100% unsorted (for 33 main characters and 20+ side characters).
I was just cleaning it up to be readable. While adding a little section on Character differences in each Adaption (which I have been trying to split the pages but constantly voted down even though in each of the 4 Continuity Reboot s quite a few characters are really different) its been a lot of work and only 12 out of 33 of the main ones done.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Yeah, that's the wrong response. Trivia is for stuff that's verifiable but not in media.
Fight smart, not fair.Or "interesting, but really, irrelevant". Like the fact that John Travolta and Chevy Chase both reportedly turned down the role of ''Forrest Gump". Interesting, but irrelevant to the tropes the movie uses.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Yep, that usually falls under What Could Have Been. We started moving it to trivia because it got really distracting to have it on the main articles.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Speaking of uses for the Trivia namespace, PARANOIA uses it for the trope list to help maintain the whole Orwellian Editor nature of life under Friend Computer. While I like this, is there maybe a better namespace for that?
But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold. The debate of what was and wasn't relevant lasted for a long while and the size issue basically threw it into just get rid of it all and leave a note on the character pages that "fully detailed info is on the trivia page"
Considering that Ken Akamatsu has given the 3 sizes, birthdate (17 of which becomes plot centric in Negima?! and 5 others in the Negima manga) Likes and dislikes, Personality Blood Types that are completely follow the trope, card based powers which are in Untranslated Latin (but give huge personality clues and exactly what they do), Boss Subtitles, Assorted Aliases (some of which come out of nowhere or the character is called nothing else but the alias), Japanese School Club s to everyone of the 33 main characters and its all directly in series, its a massive amount of information.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Would Genius Bonus also fall under Trivia? Or is that still a valid main page trope?
Everything can be found on the Internet... except common sense.I think we agreed that Genius Bonus goes in trivia, but I don't recall for sure.
@Raso: I recognize that some series have disgustingly large amounts of canonical information that occurs to people as tropable, along with Loads And Loads Of Characters. I think the problem here is that we're trying to act as both a catalogue of tropes and a reference source. One way to solve this is to externally host the obsessive details - does this work have its own wiki? If so, consider directing people there for the minutiae.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I looked over the history, and it turns out that this was the one page I hadn't created a Trivia subpage for when I created the YMMV page. So I apologize for the inconvenience, but it did get this thread going again, so not all bad. :P
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Hate to sound like a broken record here, but now that we finally do have movement, can we get to making that index of tropes that go in Trivia and adding the banner (almost completely unused at this point) to them, so that people outside the forum will know what the namespace is and isn't for.
Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.
Crown Description:
The Trivia category is for narrative conventions that cannot be determined from the final product itself. These are details of production and behind-the-scenes events that influenced the end result of the product. This crowner is used in conjunction with this thread. Please post in the thread before adding tropes to this list. Previous crowner here. Make a new crowner after 40 tropes.
i'm more of the opinion that everything in the Fan-Speak should be moved off main— if not trivia, then at least YMMV. although perhaps that's a little extreme...
