Subpages cleanup: Complete Monster

Go To

During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.

Specific issues include:

  • Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
  • A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
  • Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
  • Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
  • Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.

It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:

Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.

IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.

When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "[tup] to everyone I missed").

No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.

We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.

What is the Work

Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.

Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?

This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.

Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?

Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.

Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?

Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard

Final Verdict?

Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

So, I didn't finish reading the manga Leviathan when I was in my dad' rural natal town. However, I did re-read and finish the Webcomic 5 Elementos. So, to celebrate my return, now I do a Effort Post for one —if not— it's most iconic villain.

We discussed him some years ago. But we downvoted and put him into a “wait and see” list due to the heroes befriending a villain that was as bad. I will adress this later.

Setting?

5 Elementos is a spanish "manga" created for Jesulink, famous for Raruto, his Naruto parody. The story is set in a fantastic world where every person control a element, ranking from the classical ones to literally shit, eggs, mocus, beer, urine, bubblegum (who is pretty OP) —seriously, is actually sad that our protagonists have the regular elements, the guys with the stupidest ones usually get the cooler shit due to it's ridicuoulness—.

Despite the ridiculous premise, the series is pretty serious. It can be defined as, in a X Meets Y way: Naruto meets Avatar meets Fullmetal Alchemist.

After the world's most powerful warriors (the titular Five Elements) betray the king of their nation and then disappear, the new king erases all of the nation's historic records, to "create a brand new nation". Many years later, Kaji Llamaviva (the protagonist, a 13 year old kid), along with his friend Zap and some kids that hate him (and Sokar), starts investigating the Five Elements to discover what really happened, and if the official version is actually true, or the government is keeping a masquerade.

Which is obviously doing.

Now, this guy is basically The Heavy and the most influent guy besides the Big Bad himself. He was an Arc Villain and then the Dragon with an Agenda.

Desangrador (Blood thinner in spanish) or the Doctor Ebola.

Who is the Doctor Ebola?

Chronologicar order. Ok? Because with this class of Kudzu Plot that is better for everyone here.

The Doctor Ebola was a Virus elemental, basically a Poisonous Person that is also Blessed with Suck and can't touch people directly. Most of them use their powers to become chemicals (because is not only viruses, but also chemics). Obviously, the faced Fantastic Racism and thus one of the top goals of the scientific community (mostly Virus to begin) was the Dawn Project, a cure that would help virus elementals to touch others with no issue. (BTW, How this work? Is only hands? It only affects to inexpert Virus elemental children? —the Cool Big Sis is a person that really don't have any worry of being touch—)

Point is, the Dawn Project is a way to end the Fantastic Racism towards Virus Elementals.

Dr. Ebola joined the Royal Army of Leona and become a top scientist, he was heavily implied to having killed the former top scientist to take his position and start working in the top White Division.

Ebola divided his scientists into three groups that would create separate parts for the Dawn Project so no one could realize that Ebola' real goal was create one of the three Forbidden Virus, the Dusk Virus for his own reasons.

In the day before the Day Zero (the civil war that destroyed the kingdoms and forced them to unite). Ebola was discovered for both his goverment and the scientist Sebastian Rattengift, Sebastian tried to run away while a SS (Secret Soldiers, the lack of originality is lampshaded) squad come to capture him, including rookie Embar Llamaviva (the father of The Hero Kaji Llamaviva). The SS believe that they can beat Ebola, but it turns that the old doctor was more powerful than what they thought and killed all of them. However, Ygor Adler did a Heroic Sacrifice to save Ember and manage to permanently cripple Ebola, forcing him to use tons of medicine just to stay alive (and still be a dangerous foe) in a fake body (heavily implied to be Faraday's —one of the SS that he killed—).

Ember found Sebastian and got accidentally infected with the Dusk virus, which got codded into his DNA and was inherited for his son Kaji, this is important.

Ebola went to Beluga Town to search the son of Sebastian, which he suspected to be a user of the Kimikoho (literally Chemical Eye), a power that allowed Sebastian to become an amazing scientist by being capable of seeing all chemicals even the unknown ones in a object. Discovering that said son hadn’t the Kimikoho, Ebola killed him and his wife while giving their son to a little Virus girl that would become his sister while he watched them from afar in the disguise of the Creepy Good Chemical teacher of the school of the town.

The children, Matarratas (rat killer) become Desangrador' best student and he become his paternal figure. All with the intention of using him to get the Dusk Virus.

When Ebola discover that Kaji had the Virus, he decides that Matarratas is no longer useful and tries to kill him alongside his friends but they’re saved for Matarratas’ sister and their teacher Dino Aquatro. Ebola seemingly dies but he’s back in the last two arcs.

Ebola joins the King of the World and helps him in his plans to invade the Other World (another continent) and reach Aya, the World Tree. In the process, Ebola sacrifices a young soldier to the King.

When the war begins. Ebola uses his viruses to control the bodies of the enemy’s Earth elementals and start digging to the roots of Aya. When Colonel Blood, his old rival tries to control his project, Ebola just kill him.

Rubeola enters to Ebola' cave and tries to stop him but she’s capture and put into his bag to serve as his energy provision. Matarratas alongside Bombastus' sons appear to save Rubeola and they successfully break Ebola' bag. Causing his body to melt and freeing Ebola' true form, a giant mass of viruses before revealing his real goal.

Use the Dusk virus and infect Aya with it as a revenge for the Fantastic Racism towards Virus elementals. Instead of trying to coexist with the other elementals, Ebola just want kill all of them and leave alive only those who “can beat nature itself”.

He tries to steal Matarratas' body while asking him to finish his plan. Obviously the kid doesn’t and Ebola just throw a capsule containing the virus. Ebola stops Matarratas to let the sphere fall, infecting the roots of the World Tree such as Ebola wanted. And then dies due to the lack of a body (he wanted Matarratas’).

The World Tree dies for real but the events lead to a new one being born. Ebola was successful, but he didn’t count that Nature itself had some extra tricks.

Heinous Standard?

Ebola IS the Heinous standard. The Bombastus' incident was just a Enemy Mine thing (Kaji respected him, the rest of the kids hated him but were willing to work together) and even then, Ebola tries to anhilate all live beyond virus elementals.

That’s Absolute Xenophobe taken to a new level, and this is a series where Fantastic Racism is common. Ebola takes the crown there.

Redeeming traits?

He wants revenge for the Fantastic Racism towards Virus elementals. By killing all non virus ones.

While virus elementals had being insulted and faced discrimination. Ebola is by far one of the biggest abusers of them, with no respect towards the lives of his fellow virus elementals.

At a personal level? Ebola tries to kill all of his former rivals and he’s only nice with Matarratas because is useful. When he isn’t, then Ebola tries to steal his body or kill him.

He had a giant talking spider as pet, but they never interact beyond Ebola giving orders. Same with a lot of his creations.

Verdict?

Pretty cool villain. The Knight of Cerebus of the series. The man embodified the transition from a comedy series to a full blown shonen with a lot of gags.

Another guy from the same series.

Who is the Captain Kold Briz?

An Ice Person. Briz is the captain of a small region bording the giant wall covering the beach and the sea. Regions forbidden for the current regime.

When our protagonists tries to reach it. Briz send his soldiers to stop them until he had to come himself.

In battle, he constantly mocks his enemies while saying that no one is over the law. Even children. Briz prepares to kill everyone except Kaji due to him being the son of his coworker Ember (Briz had fear of what Ember, one of the strongest fighters of the series, could do to him).

After freezing Dino Aquattro and his sister alive and commenting how much he would take to die. Briz is hit for Leo Davin, Dino' adoptive brother, best friend and the last Earth elemental of the Old World.

In battle. Briz is extra cruel with him, admitting his role in the extermination of the Earth elementals in the Day Zero and telling how he went against his own troops after "recognising the superiority of the water arm"(Water is one of the Pure elementals, Ice and others are derivates of it).

Leo is defeated and Briz throw his last shot, Dino (got healed) takes it and Leo forces himself to a Heroic Sacrifice to stop Briz.

Briz save his own life by freezing himself in a ice block and come back to the Invasion of the Other World of the Royal Army.

Briz kills enemy soldiers until he's hurt for a Salt elemental elite warrior and he had to rest.

Then he sees Dino and his team, then he tries to fight them in revenge while taking extra pleasure in the harm that he causes. Saying that he was just "finishing the bussiness" when he fought Leo and that he's dissapointed that he did a Heroic Sacrifice instead of being killed for him.

Dino harms him and Briz promise giving him a painful death. Pi' (a urine elemental and Dino' adoptive brother. I told you, this series mocks it own premise) fights him by having the perfect counter to his element (Ice vs Warm urine. Urine wins) in a fight that is amazingly serious given the context.

Ultimately, Dino returns and Briz dies killed for his desesperate attack.

Heinous Standard?

This series love the Sociopathic Soldier trope. And Briz takes the cake. He's a combination of emotional sadism and nationalism.

Briz participated in a genocide and tried to kill the last survivor, forcing him to a Heroic Sacrifice and Being sad for not being able to kill him himself.

It should be noted that the genocide of Earth and Air elementals was not ordered for the state. In the Day Zero, all armies went into a chaotic mess against each other, a mess where the most Fantastic Racist ones killed the Earth and Air elementals. Briz actively killed members of his own army by his own.

In the present. He actively likes play mind games with his opponents, hurting them where it hurts more.

Redeeming traits?

Faux Affably Evil when he's calm. That's all. He cares that Ember don't burn him alive and gives his son a chance to surrender.

That's all. His nationalism is basically him seeing his nation as a extension of his ego.

Verdict?

I say Yes. [tup]

Here's my trimmed entries. The one for the Anuk-Ite isn't so much a trim but fixing a glaring error on its last sentence.

  • Leatherface: Verna Sawyer, later Carson, who also appears in Texas Chainsaw 3D, is initially presented as a caring matriarch, but shown here to be the most ruthless the Sawyer, with her seeming care for Jed being both emotionally and mentally gas lighting, and a myopic worldview that she and her family are innocent victims of a cruel world, with a lack of actual empathy. In the film's opening, she tries to get Jed to kill a trespasser as a child, before having the trespasser killed anyways. Seeking to find Jed and bring him into the family fold, Verna callously starts a mass breakout at the Gorman House, starting a riot that gets several people killed. When she gets a cop on her payroll for information on Jed, she has him eaten alive by pigs once she gets what she needs. Finally catching up to Jed/Jackson, Verna browbeats him to kill Hal Hartman, and then murder his close friend Lizzy to prove his loyalty to the family, proud that she brought about his mental downfall and warped him into the killer Leatherface, making her directly and indirectly responsible for numerous murders.
  • Bitten
    • Malcolm Danvers is a vicious and power-hungry werewolf and Jeremy's abusive father. When Jeremy became alpha, Malcolm left the pack rather than be ruled by his son, and reemerged after his assumed death, as the orchestrator behind the mutt uprising; using Santos and other proxies into recruiting psychopaths, killers and rapists in a bid to destroy his son's pack, resulting in the murders of several innocent people and Jeremy's pack members. Malcolm also stalks Elena and has her former pedophile stalker Victor Olson turned and has him show up at an art gallery to torment her. After the battle between the mutts and the pack ends with all the mutts being killed, Malcolm shows no regard nor care for their deaths, letting them kill Santos. Malcolm confronts Jeremy about his true intentions on continuing this war, taking Elena for himself; kidnaps Logan's pregnant girlfriend Rachel; and leaves the decapitated head of Elena's boyfriend Phillip for her to find. He claims his reasoning for the latter is to punish Elena for wanting to have a human life, going as far as to tell her that she should be grateful. Finding himself stalked by Alister, Malcolm goes on the run, leaving his followers to die, and killing a kind old man who gave him a ride. It's also revealed that he tried to kill Clayton as a child, being the werewolf who bit him, and killed Clayton's mother that same night, resulting in his father committing suicide.
    • Clara Sullivan was once a rebellious young witch, and spiteful from her youth. While she had a moment of humanity in her past where she delivered and rescued a new born baby from death, despite knowing the prophecies as a child growing up to be the Destroyer, she would later use this act later in life for more nefarious purpose. Having her magic stripped away as punishment for using it to kill people, Clara would later track this child Alister down and reveal his destiny to him, planning to bring about the Undoing— an event that would kill every witch on the planet— out of revenge. With Clara acting as Alister's hidden partner and mentor, Alister embraces his destiny, gaining a cult and army, entailing mass murder, torture, experimentation and brainwashing on numerous people at his hands. Clara has Alister seduce women to find a body for Clara to possess, if not destroying the souls of the victims, traps them in their own subconscious. Clara wants the body of 12-year-old Savannah in order to survive the Undoing as a conduit and take Savannah's powers for her own. When the time of the Undoing comes and an attempt to kill Alister starts to prevent it, Clara and Alister track down his mother Ruth to kill her and when Savannah breaks free and tries to escape, Clara chases her down, gloating to her how she'll use her powers to cause havoc and promising to kill Savannah's friends in the pack.
    • Roman Navikev is the arrogant, ruthless and supremely influential alpha of the Russian werewolves, later revealed to be Elena's grandfather. Roman runs his pack like the mob, using intimidation and bribery, and is violently abusive and indifferent to his son Konstantine. It's quickly revealed that he murdered his daughter Natalya after discovering her relationship with Sasha, promising to kill Sasha's family. Despite claiming to love his daughter or feeling remorse, he spitefully refuses to take responsibility for her murder, never actually knew her and it's suggested he killed her because he was jealous of her and Sasha's relationship. Having discovered the existence of witches, he calls on witch hunts in Russia to add to his pack's power, and kill those who won't join. When he learns of Sasha's whereabouts, and his connection to Elena. After a parlay meeting goes awry, Roman attempts to kill Sasha on the spot, stabbing former Sheriff Karen and starts a war with Jeremy's pack. Roman sets loose the Albino twins in his stead, leading to multiple unnecessary innocent deaths, culminating in Katya's murder. When Jeremy is captured, Roman plans on framing Jeremy for a coup to justify killing him, forcing him to watch as Elena and Sasha are both tortured; despite promising to let them go, he orders Elena's torture to continue in an attempt to force Sasha to kill her.
  • Orphan Black: Henrik "Hank" Johanssen, from season 2, is the leader of a branch of the Prolethean cult, operating on a ranching community. Separating from the Prolethans' more traditional views in favor of scientific curiosity, Johanssen operates his branch, and seemingly peaceful community, as a Breeding Cult, where women are artificially inseminated and children are regularly abused. When Henrik gets his hands on Helena, discovering she's a rare fertile clone, Hank has her handler Tomas killed so he can keep her. He proceeds to drug and forcibly marry Helena before taking her ovaries and fertilizing them with his sperm, planning to implant those embryos in multiple women. When Helena escapes with the help of Hank's teenage daughter Gracie, Henrik has Gracie locked in a cage and her mouth sewn shut as punishment; it's implied this is a usual punishment for her. When Helena returns, Henrik has her inseminated with their embryos before proceeding to do the same with Gracie. He keeps them locked in a nursery, holding them at gunpoint and sends his wife to find more women for him to impregnate. Henrik's motivations are that since a fertile clone is a scientific impossibility, he's the only one worthy of fathering children with them and spreading his genes in "miracle babies."
  • Teen Wolf: The Anuk-Ite, from season 6B, is a malevolent entity that delights in using fear to torment its victims. The Anuk-Ite spreads fear through supernatural spider infestations, turning fear into murderous desire as communities tear themselves apart, all the while sowing in the chaos and death it causes. Imprisoned in the Wild Hunt, when it escapes one of the first things it does is drive the head doctor of Eichen House to kill his patients in a panic. The Anuk-Ite plays up the growing fear among Beacon Hills human population, making the genocidal war Gerard is starting even worse to draw power from it and directly influencing most of his soldiers. Taking advantage of the paranoia in the school, it uses Miss Monroe's cruel tests of flushing out supernaturals, to find the one who hosts it's other half, killing those it can't use; its other half is in a young werewolf named Quinn whose pack it kills, before having Aaron kill Quinn and becoming full once again. Now free, it displays its power by turning everyone who cross its path into statues, before making a deal with Gerard to battle Scott. In the finale, the Anuk-Ite picks off Scott's allies, using hallucinations and their emotions—particularly of loved ones—against them, and it's revealed the people turned to statues are still alive within them. During its final confrontation with Scott, it mocks Scott with Alison's death, revealing its intent to never be trapped again by using Scott's fear and taking his powers.
  • Hyraaq Tobit series, by K. Banning Kellum: Mr. Thaddeus Pinkerton is the cruel master of the Hyraaq Tobit cult and ultimate ruler of the city of Delphia. In addition to setting up centuries of religious practices that includes ritual suicide and mass cannibalism, Pinkerton also traps souls in the Red Star for eternal torment for crossing of failing him. Pinkerton makes a deal with Blain Kellerman to save his comatose wife at the risk of losing his soul through a series of rigged tests, only reluctantly making good out of obligation when beaten, and sends his henchmen to the Red Star. Pinkerton also threatens to send Father Lance Madison, whom he corrupted centuries ago, to the Red Star for letting Derrick Reynolds escape, before sending the Sisters of Tobit to hunt down the protagonists and run Delphia. Pinkerton also hosts a show to preach to the children of Delphia, having the children eat two actors alive; he also helped facilitate the corruption of Tabitha Shaw into one of the Sisters of Tobit, and places Gregory Leary in Madison's place when the latter is killed. Pinkerton finally reveals Tobit to the world in order to start the apocalypse, and when the resistance topples his empire, Pinkerton summons Tobit to kill the survivors; it's then revealed that Tobit himself is the child of two godlike beings that Pinkerton befriended and manipulated to gain power, something that gets him sent to the Red Star as punishment.

Yami Marik isn't a spirit. He was specifically stated to had been given formed from Marik's hatred of serving the Pharoah and being abused by his father.

He may have branched out from the normal Marik to become his own character, but so did Aku from the Black Mass. What is the difference between Marik and Aku's agency?

Yes to Doctor Ebola and Briz.

@username2527 To start we aren't arguing to bring up Aku once more or cut Dark Marik. Second, the difference is that Dark Marik was a spirit in the millenium rod who possessed Marik when Marik took the rod, Dark Marik was sealed by Odion, who kept Marik's negative emotions in check, Odion was defeated, Marik's negative emotions freed Dark Marik. He isn't any different to Dark Yugi in that yes, he is a spirit of another person who has a host that resembles him. The series doesn't suggest he isn't when you watch the series, consider the context of what he said, and consider what is onscreen that is comparable.

Yes to the above examples...anyone mind if I save the Bloodfest villain for Halloween, btw?

Guys? We've handled tis stuff with Marik before. He became his own being, and nothing indicates he lacks agency unlike Aku who continuouly cannot resist doing an evil move even if it does not benefit him. He is a living mass of evil given sentience.

Now, then...From the band A Sound of Thunder? One of their early studio albums Tales from the Deadside was a concept album based on Valiant's Shadowman. Yeah, this band rules. So, going on the music theme, I give you the adaptation of one of my favorite villains in all of comics: Nicodemo Darque.

Who is Darque?

He's Master Darque. born decades prior to the civil war to a warlock father, with his sister Sandria, and 'pale and strange we made no sound' as Sandria relates. Nicodemo and Sandria were trained by their father as "The children of the dark, Guided by our father Toward the light, Children of the dark, To reach Lyceum,And plunder paradise "

When Sandria died, however, sacrificed to their father's ambition, Nicodemo brought her back, killed their father and "every living soul devoured, my brother killed them all for their power."

Sandria fled her brother as he preyed on the innocent, becoming a healer to atone for Nicodemo's monstrosity as he embraced the title of "Master Darque."...but unwilling to let Sandria go, Master Darque hunted her down as Sandria met and fell in love with a soldier named Marius. And Darque? "He killed hundreds in his path and when he found us, we felt his wrath." Sandria summoned a Loa, merging it with her and Marius's own stillborn child to fuse to Marius and become the first Shadowman. Darque was defeated

Eventually trapped in the underworld, or Deadside...Darque prepares his return and hoo boy. The song "Tower of Souls" is all about him and I've reprinted the lyrics:

Trapped on the deadside for so many years The masters preparing to rule Transforming immortal suffering souls Building an army of ghouls

The eaters seeking the souls that flee Consume them Bring darque their energy

The master is building a tower of souls Immortal suffering thrives To break the barrier, conquer the earth From the deadside

Oh, a tower of souls

Only the shadow can bring the master's plan down on his head A distraction is needed, so darque empowers Samedi, lord of the dead

On earth the body count rises But darque is the one Samedi despises

The master is building a tower of souls To focus the power he stole To break the barrier, return to the earth Kill all who suffer the cruelty of birth

Oh, a tower of souls

We're all monsters in a world so cruel Blind to the endless horror, we're fools

He wants to break the wheel and end all suffering To rise and challenge god By killing all who live... and dream

So yes, Darque is just as depraved, monstrous and omnicidal as he ever was....though in a final clash between him and Jack, the new Shadowman, Darque is impaled on his own tower and destroyed.

Any mitigating qualities?

As I said iin my original Darque EP, and repeating here: Now, the first big thing? Sandria. She is, at the start, the center of his world. This is, however, made clear to not be love. Nicodemo is obsessed with her, seeing her a reflection of himself. Sandria recognizes it as a twisted, unhealthy parody of love. Nicodemo is unable to even recognize the possibility Sandria can care for something that's not him and she legitimately dreads what he'll do to her when he finds out. When Sandria dies, Nicodemo...doesn't really mention her again later on, and goes about his plans to destroy the world for his own benefit.

Just as in the comics, Darque is a power hungry monster, and he desires to kill all who 'suffer the cruelty of birth' while devouring their souls for his own benefit. As I said back then: "Darque's monstrosity is pronounced in every action he takes and his hatred of God for failure is based around his own ego not allowing anyone but him to dictate where the world should be." And the lyric "To rise and challenge god by killing all who live and dream" is just fantastic. Darque's evil is made explicit as is his evil and torture of countless innocent souls.

Conclusion? Yes to the Master of the Dark.

[tup] Ebola, Brits and Darque.

For the Ratchet stuff, that's cool if it goes next week. But I think the order of the tree should be:

  • Drek

  • Vox

  • The Loki Master

  • Dr Nefarious

Here's one from Spider-man The Animated Series.

Who is Dormammu?

Ruler of the Dark Demission trying to consume our world as he has countless others. Formally he first appears in the episode "Doctor Strange" where he has Baron Mardo steal the Wand of Watoob. To do show he has Mordo brainwash Mary Jane and a bunch of other people by making see their lost loved ones. While their under this spell they are forced to attack the Sanctum Sanctorum. When Mordo manages to get the wand, he tries to free Formally. During a fight with Doctor Strange, Mordo gets trapped by one of Strange's spells. Mordo begs Dormammu for help, so Dormammu temporarily takes over Mordo' body to fight Strange. When Strange and Spider-man enters the Dark Demission, Dormammu tries to trap them there. As a last ditch effort to enter our realm, he tries to trick Mary Jane into letting him in by pretending to be her father.

Returning in the two parter "Venom Returns" and "Carnage", Dormammu has Mordo break into the facility that controls the prob housing the Venom Symbiote and it's offspring, and causes into crash into Earth. He has Mordo brainwash the two people the Symbiotes attach themselves to give them to Eddie Brock and Cletus Kasady. He has the two of them attack Stark Enterprises to get a machine that can excess other demissions. After the machine is retrieved, and Venom goes off on his own, Dormammu has Kasady attack people in order to take their life forces to allow him to enter our realm. After being freed from his demission he attacks Iron man an Venom, before finally being sucked back into his demission for good.

Redeeming qualities ?

None. Even when he helps Mordo, it's more for a chance to kill Strange then care for his well being.

GDV?

No he has a clear goal and a sadistic personality.

Conclusion?

I give a weak keep.

[tup]Dormammu

Uh since his second-in-command Carnage is up for trying to free him in the first place so he destroy the world, I dont think its an issue with putting up the guy who personally plans on doing the wrold-ending as well.
