Space Flecks is not thriving, with only 16 non-Administrivia wicks, and many of the on-page examples are also on Streaming Stars.

I did a wick check, but did not count the two Administrivia pages.

Colony Wars: Not the first, but one of the most visually pleasing implementations. ZCE
Escape Velocity: In all three games. ZCE
EVE Online: Space Flecks ZCE
FreeSpace: Small, translucent, rotating rocks that can be seen during a mission. The FS2_Open engine has the option to disable this for players who want a bit more realism in the game. ZCE
Freelancer: Common in nebulae and fields. There are tiny specks that convey parallax, and sometimes larger debris that does Scratch Damage and, in some cases, will yield raw materials if destroyed. Looks okay.
Starsector: It's either this or there's something very wrong with the 'starfield' that serves as the map view's background. ZCE
Vendetta Online: Space is full of little bits of gravel, just floating in the void. The game uses these to convey motion. Looks okay.
Oolite: Possibly subverted; some players speculate that they're a function of the ship's HUD to prevent the pilot from becoming disorientated. ZCE
Space Battle: Strangely averted, as your fighter battles take place against a static star background. Aversion
Wing Commander: In the games prior to Wing Commander III in particular they're quite noticeable, given the resolution of the earlier games. ZCE
Tropes S to Z: In X3, which also features a variation in which star flecks are accompanied by region-themed clumps of other stuff, such as red nebula gas. ZCE

I think we should merge this with Streaming Stars too. I don’t think there’s a huge difference between the two. Space Flecks is just a variant of Streaming Stars.
