Alphabetically ordering example pages

Just did All Chinese People Know Kung-Fu, and there are some things I wish to note, in general and for this page.

1. It's particularly harrowing when examples which require alphabetising start referring to each other (e.g.: "the example above" or "the aforementioned [insert name here]"), and cutting out those references can make them ZC Es and cause more problems.

2. There are a few examples for this page that I took the liberty of adding context to but I only went as far as the available work pages on this site to get it. It doesn't help when the very trope that example is on is absent from the page itself sometimes.

3. Kung Fu Hustle appears to be present on both this trope page and All Asians Know Martial Arts however I can't find either trope on the work page itself, and although it seems implied that the film is built on parodying those tropes, I haven't seen the film myself to provide the context. I suppose I'll comment out the film's example on All Asians Know Martial Arts as well then.

On point 1: if removing those references makes them a ZCE, they were always a ZCE. See this note on Zero-Context Example:

Examples should not point to other examples for context. They should stand on their own. In this case, since there is no Rich Bitch example on this page, you have no idea why Alice is an example. Even if there were, it could be changed or deleted, leaving this example unexplained.

So just alphabetize them, cut that note because they're against the rules, and then comment them out.

Thank you for that info, I'll take that into account for later fixes.

Anyway I just did All Monks Know Kung-Fu, if there's anything to note, a few examples under Web Comics and Web Original might fall under ZCE territory of "quotes alone are not examples" but I'm not too sure what to do about them.

I actually like the pages unalphabetized because it's easy to see if anyone added an example to a section recently. If I want to see if an example is already on a page, I just ctrl+f.

Can't you just use the history?

Yeah, but it's a hassle, especially if I want to look at the history of individual folders.

From the perspective of a visitor, it'd be too inefficient.

It can also make pages harder to edit. Say for example there's a specific work you want to add an example for. Duplicates are a lot easier to create if things aren't alphabetized.

How do we sort Dutch and Flemish people with prepositions and articles in their surnames? The Dutch skip over articles and prepositions when alphabetizing surnames, while the Flemish don't skip over them.

So a Dutch person with the last name "De Vries" would be sorted under V, but a Belgian with this last name would be sorted under "D".

Signature Line is a borderline case. Some folders are in proper alphabetical order while others are not. A few days ago, I had to do some repair on the Wrestling folder because a lot of examples had the source Pot Holed.

Nay-Theist needs to be alphabetized, because when I went to put Keqing from Genshin Impact as an example, I didn’t notice that she was already listed , because while the first half of the Video Game folder is alphabetized, the other half is not.

Alright, I'll do that. BRB after I have lunch tho.

I alphabetized some examples on the webcomic page of Exact Words but I know that's not all of them. Left a note for alphabetical order tho.

The folders themselves (not just the examples within them) in Magikarp Power are not sorted properly.

Not just that, but some of the examples are in the wrong folder.

I've noticed pages that need partial or complete help with alphabetization:

The Nicknamer has been alphabetized. I also had to comment out several ZCE entries for being nothing but lists.

In preparation for a mass wicking for a game that recently got an English dub, I decided to go look at the page for Jeremy Shada and found his works are listed chronologically rather than alphabetically. It is very late so my eyes just glaze over all the text, so I would really appreciate someone someone going through through and fixing it up.

Characters.Alfred J Kwak, besides having a lot of empty sections, has several of the later entries with unalphabetized lists of tropes.

Just discovered Literature.Ragnatela, which doesn't appear to have any concept of alphabetization. There's been multiple editors so I'm not sure if any one of them is more responsible than others, but, yeah.
