Wick check looks good, so opened for discussion.
Perhaps a rename can resolve that issue, but we could see about your suggestions as well.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThis seems like such a litany of problems that we should just cut it and expand the contents on Fan Dumb accordingly.

Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Yeah, I think it needs to be Flame Bait. #Flame Bait Or Cut, I guess.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'd say probably cut. There doesn't seem to be any reason that this is completely distinct and different different from some subset of Fan Dumb. It's also obviously flame bait.
It looks like flame bait to me, too, but if keeping it for the valid examples— perhaps Hypocritical Rival Fandom to clarify it's... well, rival fandoms.
I'm surprised Hypocritical Fandom isn't Flame Bait, especially since related pages such as Fan Dumb and Unpleasable Fanbase are. Either expand the definition and make Flame Bait, or change the name to better reflect the current definition and clean up the misuse.

So we have three options.
- Make Flame Bait
- Cut
- Rename Hypocritical Rival Fandom
I'd Flame Bait but why would we want to keep it then? How would it not be redundant with Hypocrite such to justify it's existence, especially since Hypocrite is no real life which contradicts the point of this trope (hypocrisies of real live groups) and any in-universe examples can go under Hypocrite or Loony Fan anyway.
What about Hypocritical Fandom/Rival Fandom is even worth keeping if we don't allow real life examples of hypocrisy?
Nothing but the definition.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIs Double Standard no-real life or in-universe only? Renaming Rival Fandom Double Standard might work.
How about making this a Useful Note?
- It's a notable media thing but not a trope or even an audience reaction.
- It would let us remove the trope but let us keep on the page examples if we decide there's any worth keeping.
Why Useful Note? What's useful about it?
Useful Notes are for:
- To debunk common media stereotypes. (It wouldn't do that)
- To help you understand some media better. (It has nothing to do with media itself, just how some fans act)
- To educate, inform, and sometimes entertain. (Would an article about fandoms being petty really do any of these three things? What would it educate us or inform us about? Where would any entertainment come from?)
Useful Notes is just not the namespace for this. It's about fandoms being petty and hypocritical; it's not useful to note.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessUnderstood and agreed.
So why would we want to keep Hypocritical Fandom as opposed to redirecting it to Hypocrite? If we don't allow examples what about it justifies it being its own trope?
I'm not seeing anything worth salvaging here. The misuse rate is staggering, the "correct" use is flamebait, and even as a definition-only Flame Bait page it's not distinctive enough from other definition-only Flame Bait pages.
I haven't seen a clearer case for an outright cut in a long time.
Yeah, my Flame Bait idea is based solely on whether or not we think it's worth being a definition-only page.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessCutting.
Cutting. Haven't seen a good reason to keep it.
Vote for cut. It's a specific version of Fan Dumb and Fan Myopia.
Cut. I can't think of any reason to keep a Flame Bait Audience Reaction.
I agree with cutting. It's not a worthwhile audience reaction to not even as a definition-only page.
Cut for the reasons already stated.
<(0_0<) <(0_0)> (>0_0)> KIRBY DANCEThat's 8 for cutting. I don't recall a more unanimous vote to cut something. Should I ask a mod to make call or what?
I think we follow the three day rule anyway. Procedure is important after all.
This does seem to just be Fan Dumb + Fandom Rivalry. Cut.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"
Awhile ago this ATT decided Hypocritical Fandom should be taken to TRS. It has a non-indicative name that sounds like hypocrisies by the works fans as opposed to hypocrisies of rival works fans which is the intended definition.
Wick check: 125 wicks 2118 inbounds including redirect.
Only 13 out of 50 (26% ) aren't misuse. Even the in-universe examples were misused. I doubt thinks that's worth saving in light of questions on it's validity as a trope.
It's directed at real life groups violating Hypocrite is No Real Life Examples, Please!. The concept of the trope seems to overlap with Fan Dumb which is Flame Bait. Its redirect Hypocritical Hatedom seems to run afoul with Hatedom being Flame Bait. As it is about rival fandoms making criticism of a work that also applies to theirs, it seems to trope audience reaction to other audiences as opposed to reaction to the work that would make it trope worthy. Its purpose seems to be for complaining about fan hypocrisies as opposed to useful notes to the works reception.
I say cut, make the page exampleless and/or Flame Bait if it's worth keeping for the concept or inbounds.
