Misused: Internet Backdraft

So we can start dewicking?

I'm not sure if we need a mod to call the crowner first.

What do we do with the The Internet Is For Scorn redirect? It's got 6 inbounds and 1 wick, and that's just to YMMV Redirects.

I vote cut. I didn't even know that page was a thing, and we're not really using it.

I also vote cut since it's an unused snowclone redirect to a page that was decided to be made Flame Bait.

Some wicks are In-Universe fictional examples, are those still allowed?

Indexes aren't tropes, so they should be moved to a more appropriate trope, assuming one exists.

In-Universe examples of Flame Bait are allowed, but you should add [[invoked]] to the bullet to clear the special marking.

I asked in ATT a while back if I could add Mary Sue tropes to Ensign Sue Must Die (where they were intentional), and a mod confirmed that they are allowed.

The Flame Bait category forbids In-Universe examples, too. If an appropriate Sub-Trope cannot be found, it must be deleted.

Since this hasn't already been added to the Flame Bait index, I posted a request in the Locked Pages thread. I figured adding it to the index before dewicking is complete would at least slow down the addition of new wicks (due to the Flame Bait icon appearing in example lists), hence why I'm posting the request now.

(I was out of town for most of the afternoon, including when the crowner was called, so I didn't post the request as soon as I usually would.)

Edit: I cross-referenced this thread in the complaining cleanup thread, since I had mentioned seeing examples show up there.

Well I just made an Internet Backdraft page to clean up the crap on the Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition page. It practically drowned it previously and it was an enormous pain the ass to wade through all the examples (that were all relevant to the subject) to get to the positive stuff.

All examples have to go due to the Flame Bait designation. That page isn't being singled out.

Most of those examples also admit that they're covered by other Audience Reactions, such as Unfortunate Implication. Shouldn't be too hard to move them.

Should this go under Trope Epitaph (Badass which is also dewicked is there), or wait until we're almost finished dewicking?

You may also add He Panned It, Now He Sucks! for when fans hate a journalist/critic for bashing a work.

Earlier in this thread, a list was made of potential items that would be placed on the index here, which includes brief reasons why they fall under Internet Backdraft. Should we include the reasons when we add the index?

Wait...If Internet Backdraft is something that causes issues just when brought up, and Broken Base and Base-Breaking Character have 6-month periods...what's the thing for something fans don't like but doesn't need a six-month waiting?

This is why I often do research for recurring problems: Previous Thread already said it joins Definition-Only Pages, and even In-Universe examples are cut.

The simple answer is: there is not a trope for that, because "things fans don't like" is not a trope and never will be. It's a unfortunate fact of existence, like sunburn, maggots, and Republicans.
