MOD NOTE: TROPES BLANKET-BANNED FROM HAVING VIDEO EXAMPLES:
- Attempted Rape
- Bound and Gagged
- Epileptic Flashing Lights
- Jump Scare
- Nocturnal Emission
- Pooping Where You Shouldn't
- Potty Failure
- Sensory Abuse
- Screamer Prank
It's been discussed a lot at the Video Uploading thread that a lot of poor videos are slipping through the cracks, and that a clean-up effort is necessary if we are to combat the problem.
Common issues are:
- Videos spoiling major events from a work
- Videos not actually fitting the trope they're attached to
- Videos in which the important part doesn't happen until halfway through, with the length being ultimately pointless
- Videos that use the entire work, breaking copyright; this can be done either with one video showcasing an entire short video, or multiple videos that add up to using the entire work in piecemeal.
- Videos lacking the proper media source, or any media source at all.
- General quality problems, like audio issues or artifacting.
So, we've got our work cut out for us; but this is at least a place to discuss problems and come to solutions.

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoExamples/PhineasAndFerb has several examples that fail the amount and substantiality clause needed for fair use. A lot of episodes for this show are 11 minutes long, and some of the clips are 2 minutes long.
Can you make a list of the clips and episodes they come from?
Macron's notesHip-Hip Parade
- I Warned You 0:30
- Candace Flynn (Cold Turkeys Are Everywhere) 1:53
- Hip Hip Parade (Balloonacy) 0:09
- A Bloody Mess 0:23
Happy New Year
- New Year Has Come 1:36
- Oblivious to Love 0:20
- Loophole Abuse 0:13
- Dance Party Ending (is a duplicate of New Year has Come) 1:36
- Candace and Jeremy (New Years' Kiss) 0:13
A Phineas and Ferb Family Christmas
- Good King Wencelas 1:27
- We Wish You A Merry Christmas 2:04
- Let It Snow 1:22
- Christmas in July 1:03

So far I don't think any of those cross the minimum threshold which would be about 5:30 minutes footage total, except the Christmas special.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Last night I took care of a few videos awaiting review. Among them is for a trope that I feel would be very hard—if not impossible—to depict accurately in video form: Action-Hogging Opening. Said video was denied as it's just the opening being shown off.
Should it be in No Video Examples, Please! due to being impossible to accurately show in 2.5 minutes?

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportWhy do you think it would be impossible to show in 2:30? Some openings last only like 30 seconds or 1 min.

Well, it depends more on the length of the comparison of how the series actually is. I am not sure if you can make such comparison without cherry-picking certain scenes.
Edited by MacronNotes on Aug 26th 2023 at 1:31:39 PM
Macron's notesThe cherry picking will also put it at risk of bias.
In addition, if the show is short enough, we may run into a different problem known as copyright issues.
Edit: Now that I think about it, maybe only allow discussed examples? This will put a (now nonexistant) subpage into No Straight Examples, Please!.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportAnother trope that should be added to No Video Examples, Please is Sex God
Edited by DecafGrub47393 on Sep 1st 2023 at 4:02:40 AM
Eh, I reviewed both videos on Sex God a while ago and I think they aren't crossing the line content wise. As long the video isn't too explicit, it's fine.

Macron's notesMade Attempted Rape NVEP because the trope forbids page images per mod notice.

Macron's notesAdded the trope to the OP blanket ban list.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThe first video on The Kingslayer ("The Death of Sargon of Akkad", from Age of Empires II) is a minute and forty seconds of text with voiceover. If it were a page image it would be easily rejected for being a page quote (and then rejected as a page quote for length).

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableHmm yeah, if the video doesn't provide anything visually important to the trope and isn't interesting, that's a valid reason to decline it.
Macron's notesNot only are many of the video examples for Raiders of the Lost Ark in the incorrect PAL pitch, there's enough of them to fail the "amount and substantiality" for a film that's 115 minutes long.
Having PAL audio is not really an issue when it comes to videos.
Family Guy S10 E2: "Seahorse Seashell Party" has a single scene (around 5 and a half minutes) split across three videos. Is this okay?

How does one get videos deleted?
I'm wondering because there was an earlier discussion saying the Infinity Train video on Kick the Dog didn't exactly fit the trope as it; was too meandering, had a purpose and didn't fit Kick the Dog, was highly confusing without context, and gave away away a huge spoiler without warning.
Is there any way to get the video deleted?

Wrong thread, but you've already taken it to the right one. For future reference, it's the moderation thread which handles deletion requests, not this one.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Continuity Nod would need to reference the actual continuity bit in the clip itself and not just the description, right? "Quarantine Her" on Curse Cut Short has Continuity Nod as a subtrope, but you'd have to know the clip of a previous episode to know why the Angry Dome is a continuity nod since they don't mention it outright.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Yeah, I think that's right.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe Charlie the Unicorn video for Exact Words is sideways.
There's a Video Examples page of clips from Justice League Unlimited that should be revised so they register on the Video Examples page for Justice League, as the Western Animation wick for Justice League Unlimited redirects to plain old ''Justice League.
The description of the trope is specifically about western superheros and in the last trs thread we had for this trope it was stated that it's a Trope in Aggregate about how comic (I'm assuming western themed) heroes are depicted.
