- Remove index tags from UsefulNotes.Franchise Actors (and subindexes) is at (yeas:25 nays:10).

Dany of those pages trope the people and not their work?
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Louie Anderson is toeing the line, while Tom Arnold, Edward Asner, Sean Astin, Erick Avari, and Dan Aykroyd don't have tropes.

Should we start removing the Index tags?
Removing the tags is going to take a lot more work, but I'll help.
I started at the end with Zorro Actors (ugh) and I noticed two things. First, instead of just using index tags at the beginning and end, the people who made these chose to use index tags for each section, so that's going to make the process a lot more cumbersome. Second and more importantly, removing the tags by themselves does not make the index disappear from the Creator page. I tested with Alain Delon. "Zorro Actors" still showed up even after the tags were removed, even though "does indexing" was not checked on the "page type" page. Then I changed the page type from Subpage, which it was, to Useful Notes. That made "Zorro Actors" disappear from Alain Delon's page.
Also, some namespaces are going to have to be changed. Shakespearian Actors is in Main.
EDIT: That one isn't on the Franchise Actors page. It's on Actors, which includes Started At Oxbridge (wasn't that one supposed to be cut?), Comic Actors, Double Acts and Groups, and some other pages inexplicably in Main, plus a bunch of other very dubious indexes like Notable Pre-Hays Code Actors. What's the status of those?
EDIT 2: Same thing happened with Whoniverse Actors. The page type must be changed to Useful Notes to get the index to clear.

Bump. Request guidance on indexes on Actors page listed above, and whether or not tags may be removed from them as well, or another TRS thread must be created.
EDIT: Westworld Actors de-tagged.

Starting on the M's, because I want to.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI kind of liked the pages being indexed, but if it's going away, I guess that's okay. I can just go to the Franchise Actors page itself, or to the film lists on the actors' pages, or the films' pages, etc.
Especially since Diana Rigg being on the index bar for Shakespeare Actors tells me nothing that saying she was in the 1969 version of A Midsummer Night's Dream doesn't - the opposite, in fact.

Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Index tags removed on all articles in T-Z subfolder. I know he's been dead for 34 years, but somehow I feel like Orson Welles is resting more peacefully now that "Transformers Actors" is no longer showing up as an index on his page.
I again request guidance on the articles in the Main namespace as shown on the Actors page—Comic Actors, Shakespearian Actors, and the like. May we remove tags on these, or would that require a separate TRS thread?
I have previously stated, with tepid agreement, that Shakespearean Actors, Comic Actors etc. are distinct from, and more useful than, the Franchise Actors pages. So I think there should be a separate TRS thread if you want to cut or de-index those pages (an effort I would oppose).
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"So this thread can be closed and another thread started for the other problem pages, correct?

As said before, David Warner was on 17 different Franchise Actors indexes (!!). Now that I've de-indexed Star Wars Actors, he's not on any.
Ian McKellen, who was on 14 FA indexes, is no longer on any with my de-indexing of The Simpsons Voice Actors.
Frank Welker must have been on a lot of FA indexes, but he's now not on any.
Ditto for Samuel L. Jackson.
I checked some other actor pages and their index bars were all devoid of Franchise Actors pages.
If anyone sees any left over, feel free to remove them by de-indexing the Franchise Actors pages.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI just turned off indexing for Whoniverse Actors.
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project! This thread resolved an indexing issue. Is there anything else to do or can the thread be closed?
I'll go ahead and close.

Crown Description:
Franchise Actors is being declared Not Tropeworthy.
I've copied/verified the information from the various indexes into Aerosmith, Daniella Alonso, Louie Anderson, Jennifer Aniston, Judd Apatow, Tom Arnold, Edward Asner, Sean Astin, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Erick Avari, and Dan Aykroyd. Why do we have so many actor pages that don't list what they appeared in?
