Vertical shmups?
It seems like there aren’t very many of those these days, but they serve an important role as an intermediary step between indie development and big-budget studio games. Makes me think of stuff like Zoink’s partnership with EA for Fe and their new dice rolling one, or some of the independent stuff that Microsoft releases on Game Pass — neat games that may have otherwise not gotten a large audience.
