This thread is a metathread for Trope Repair Shop discussion. Things like TRS policy, what is needed in a TRS opening post, questions about whether a certain topic is TRS-worthy and questions about why a thread wasn't opened go here.
Some guidelines for when/whether to use TRS:
- If the trope is fine, but has some bad examples, feel free to clean them up or to start a cleanup project at Projects: Short-Term
. Trope Repair Shop is for when cleaning isn't sufficient.
- If you think there's something wrong with the trope that systematically attracts improper examples, start a discussion at Trope Talk. Use a Wick Check to see whether there's an issue present (and if there is, what the issue is), and post the results on TRS Queue and wait your turn if a problem is present. The following methods are two possible ways to do a wick check (though not necessarily the only ways):
- You can go ahead with the Wick Check without a discussion if you know what you're looking for. While it's not mandatory, feel free to ask someone for help confirming that you got the issue and the numbers correct.
- Consult the Wick Check Project thread to collect evidence if you need help.
- If a wick check is too much for you, you can leave the issue at Tropes Needing TRS citing the discussion.
- Depending on a trope (or non-trope) in question, a wick check may be determined to not be required, such as for tropes that are not thriving (per the standards for trope health listed on the Wick page). However, there is no problem if you want to do one anyway.

Thanks. I still don't know if I'll do it because I don't know enough about the trope, but I guess if someone else wants to they can knock themselves out.

Those tropes sound distinct enough from each other, since it looks like Nerf Arm, Joke Item, and Lethal Joke Item parallel Fighting Clown, Joke Character, and Lethal Joke Character in terms of mechanics, just with items instead of characters (the first being silly but still perfectly usable, the second being useless, and the third being a twist on the second).

I was going to post this on the Bubbly Clouds TRS thread, but I had already double-posted a few times there before and don't feel confident in doing it again now. As of now, there are 17 votes in favor of renaming it to "Sky Stage" and 3 against, leading to a 5,67:1 support ratio. I understand that some tropers (I know about at least three) aren't happy with this option, but the one they would have preferred ("Level In The Clouds") was mentioned too late to be added in the crowner, and a total of 96 hours (actually 120, but the latest Sunday isn't counted for being part of a weekend, per the Three-Day Rule) will have passed as of 9 PM today since the crowner was hooked.
I'd like to request a call for the rename from Bubbly Clouds to Sky Stage to be officially made. If (hopefully when) it is, I'll proceed immediately with doing the wick swap (all 295 of them) after the rename, and also edit the description as it was previously agreed by unanimity that it was too narrow; I had posted the updated description twice in the thread, and both it and nearly all the ZCE entries (now with added context and thus visible) are ready in my sandbox, but I was unable to do the pertinent action even with the wide support due to the issue of the trope's name having been brought up.
Once the pending to-do is done, the thread can be closed and a new slot will be available!

I have added in Level in the Clouds to the crowner.

This is something that's been bugging me for a long time, and I don't know if this is the right place for it, but we've been at the 50-topic limit for a while now and I need to get it off my chest:
I feel like Gorn should be upgraded to a Definition-Only Page. The idea of making it No On-Page Examples was to keep people from gushing about media violence in a way that seemed weird and squicky to people who weren't into it. It didn't work—they're still doing it, just not on the page. We have plenty of tropes about violence that Gorn could work as a supertrope for.
Is this TRS-worthy or should I be taking it somewhere else?

Unless there are any objections, I'll probably cut Sandbox.TRS Slots OP Tracker tommorrow. While I still don't feel like there are that many people who want to start threads here (though there seems to be more than usual), and I'm still not a fan of having self-regulations as I'm really more for hard numbers and efficiency without worrying too much, it's unlikely that tracking things would be particularly good with it, and I haven't really made any threads lately and probably won't for a while, so probably not an issue now.

I just finished most of the wick business on Dumb Dodo Bird, but I haven't cutlisted the sandbox or wick check so as not to step on Gaston Rabbit's toes. So that opening may well be available soon.
HMHC also knocked out the last of the 0% Approval Rating wicks, so that's also almost done.
Theme Tune Cameo only has 100ish wicks to clean/move.
