YMMV / Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy

Go To

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Another way to look at Belial's participation into Tartarus' faction was that he had just turned against his own people by touching the Plasma Spark and has nowhere else to go, since Tartarus prevented Belial's fusion with Rayblood and even worse, showing the young Belial that whatever achievements he's trying to get by turning to the dark side ended with his eventual death by Ultraman Geed. No wonder Belial was letting out a maniacal laugh, he had accepted that he had gone too far and can never return to his old life.
  • Even Better Sequel: In addition to the Author's Saving Throw above, a lot of fans prefer The Absolute Conspiracy for its stronger storyline and plot compared to Ultra Galaxy Fight: New Generation Heroes. It also helps that the series ended with a Downer Ending, thus paving way for a Sequel Hook in the future.
  • Evil Is Cool: Absolute Tartarus, full stop. An Ultra Series villain that even eclipses even fallen Ultramen like Belial and Tregear, who already have the coolness to their villainy to begin with thanks to the voice of Jun'ichi Suwabe that adds more charm, and a Darth Vader vibe courtesy of Walter Roberts.
  • Fan Nickname: "Ultra Galaxy Fight: Infinity War", due to their similar plots involving the gathering multiple superheroes to combat the threat of a nigh-omnipotent main antagonist, only for said antagonist to emerge victorious at the end that leads to a Sequel Hook for a future story.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Meta example; this miniseries was conceived by Tsuburaya as their "thank you" gesture for the 1 million subscribers in their YouTube channel.
  • Memetic Loser:
    • Zero, thanks to him accessing the seemingly powerful Ultimate Shining form, only to be swiftly defeated by Tartarus moments later. Thankfully, this status died down after the next series.
    • For that matter, some fans have come to see Tartarus himself as this, due to introducing himself as an Ultimate Lifeform, only to run away from Ultraman Legend moments later. Him making a lot of tactical retreats via portals to Narak throughout the series doesn't help his reputation either.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • Absolute Tartar Saucenote
    • Fat Reibatosnote
    • The Ultra Father Family Curse note
  • Never Live It Down
    • A minor version, but some fans won't forget how Tartarus runs away only moments after his introduction, even though it's justified, as he's facing Ultraman Legend, and running away is a viable choice since the ultra's powers are way beyond his.
    • Fans probably won't and will never forgive and forget Zero for losing quickly against Tartarus even after gaining the supposedly powerful Ultimate Shining form. His cocky attitude before facing him doesn't help.
  • Moment of Awesome: Episode 6 saw the return of the complete 6 Ultra Brothers in combat, and the Project DMM cover (the same people who sang Max and Mebius' themes) of the Ultra 6 Bros theme, and ended with Taro performing a Cosmo Miracle Ray, exactly like how he did it against Grand King decades ago.
  • Shocking Moments: Unlike past Ultra Fight series, The Absolute Conspiracy wraps it up with a Downer Ending where Yullian was successfully captured despite the Ultra League's attempts at intervention. It helps that the event even set up a Sequel Hook to a potential new story.
  • Spiritual Adaptation: The Absolute Conspiracy could be seen as the Ultra Series' answer to Avengers: Infinity War. As both are a Crisis Crossover that involves multiple superheroes teaming up to fight a nigh-omnipotent Big Bad, only for said Big Bad emerging victorious at the end despite the heroes' best efforts against them—Tartarus succeeds in kidnapping Yullian and putting the fate of the Land of Light at stake.
  • Spoiled by the Format: The Chapter 1 of the series has the Ultras trying to prevent Maga-Orochi's evolution into Magatano-Orochi. Considering that the latter monster's suit was modified into Genegarg, its very clear that the villains will never succeed regardless of the outcome.
  • Unexpected Character:
    • Be honest: who thought that we'd ever see Belial in the flesh again, much less in his pre-Rayblood form?
    • On an even bigger note, Ultraman Powered, Ultraman Great as well as Sora and Zett from the Ultra Festivals, particularly the latter two as they made their debut years ago in stage shows and hadn't made a canon appearance until now.
    • The cast members just got bigger, ranging from Tregear's uncorrupted form to the return of Ultraman Joneus and Andro Melos. As well as Ultraman Justice who hadn't made an official reappearance in the series in 17 years since his debut. Much less was it expected for their fused form, Ultraman Legend to appear.
    • Even less people expected Ultraman Xenon of all characters to appear, given how neither guides for the show nor toylines made a mention of him, and how he hadn't made an important reappearance since the end of Ultraman Max
    • The final episode ends with a captured Yullian sharing her prison with a heavily restrained figure, implied to be an Ultra themed after the Ultraseven archetype.
