Monster Family 2, also known as Monster Family 2 Nobody's Perfect is the sequel to Monster Family, released in 2021.

A year has passed since the last movie. Baba Yaga and Renfield are about to get married, and the Wishbone family is invited. Despite having grown closer as a family, the Wishbones still have several issues plaguing their personal lives: Max is the shortest boy in his class; Faye believes all her friends are talented in something, but she is not; Emma tries to help her children, but they find her advice annoying; and Frank, despite having a better job now, is not happy if his family is not happy.

At the wedding, Baba Yaga and Renfield are abducted by Mila Starr, a young monster hunter whose parents, billionaire scientists Marlene and Maddox Starr, are working on a sinister scheme involving various captured monsters. To rescue Baba Yaga and Renfield, Max uses Baba Yaga’s magic amulet to turn himself and his family into their monster forms again.

The film provides examples of:

  • Artificial Human: Marlene and Maddox use their research and all the abilities of the captured monsters to create a perfect, robotic version of Mila, and then turn her into a real human.
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: A yeti is among the monsters captured by the Starrs.
  • Broken Pedestal: Max is a great fan of the Starrs, but his image of them is shattered when he learns they are villains.
  • Comedic Underwear Exposure: Since the good clothes he wants to wear for the wedding no longer fit him, Max uses Baba Yaga’s amulet to magically turn them into a new set of clothes. When the magic wears off however they revert back to their old form, causing Max to burst out of his pants, exposing his boxers.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: The villain of the first movie was the vampire Dracula, who had several other monsters working for him. The villains in this movie are two human scientists named Maddox and Marlene Starr who have no supernatural powers of their own but use their scientific skills to harness the powers of captures monsters. Dracula was acting purely out of selfish reasons from the start and was willing to destroy the world if he did not get his way. The Starrs are presented as philanthropists who claim they are using their research to better the world (or so it seems).
  • Cool Plane; The Wishbones kept Dracula’s high tech jet after their previous adventure, and make good use of it in this movie.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Frank, as the family is already late for the wedding, swerves through traffic at high speed.
  • Foil: The Starr family to the Wishbone family. The Wishbones are at times dysfunctional, but they love each other despite their shortcomings and in the end stick together. The Starrs seem like the perfect family, but Maddox and Marlene are emotionally abusive towards their daughter, whom they force to be perfect and never allow her to have any fun, and eventually try to replace her with a perfect copy.
  • Happy Ending Override: The Wishbones are back at being unhappy with their lives, despite seemingly overcoming that issue at the end of the previous movie.
  • Horror Hunger: Just like the last time she became a vampire, Emma begins to hunger for human blood to the point she even becomes threat to her family. Fortunately, the Wishbones still have some of Dracula’s blood pills to feed her.
  • Immortality Seeker: Played with. When Mila, encouraged by Max, finally questions her parents what they need all the monsters for, Maddox and Marlene reveal they are using the monsters to try and gain immortality for all humanity. However, this is just a ruse as they already discovered years ago that immortality is impossible for humans, and they actually want the monsters to give live to the robotic copy they made of Mila.
  • I Am Not Your Father: Upon revealing their perfect copy of her, Maddox and Marlene tell Mila that she is not their daughter at all, but just an orphan they adopted.
  • King Kong Copy: One of the monsters Mila is send to capture is a giant gorilla named King Konga.
  • Little Miss Badass: Mila is no older than Max, but effortlessly defeats and captures dangerous monsters. Of course, she has a large arsenal of her parents high tech gadgets to aid her, but she still goes out into the field herself to hunt the monsters down.
  • The Perfectionist: Mila is convinced the only way her parents will love her is if she’s the perfect child, hence why she does everything they tell her to, no questions asked. Max eventually makes her realize that this is not healthy, and that his family loves him despite his flaws.
  • Playing Sick: When Mila is taking too long to come back with King Konga because she ran into the Wishbone family again and spend time with them, Maddox sends her a message that her mom has fallen sick and only their immortality research can save her, thus prompting Mila to complete her mission.
  • Shrink Ray: Mila has one in order to capture large monsters like Nessie and the Yeti. It gets turned against the Starrs in the climax.
  • Spit Take: Maddox spits out his coffee when he sees Mila is hanging out with Max and the two clearly have feelings for each other.
  • Sufficiently Analyzed Magic: At the start of the movie, Max tries to analyze Baba Yaga’s magic amulet to see if he can make it work.
  • Space Station: Maddox and Marlene Starr have one where they store the captured monsters.
  • Spot the Imposter: As Mila fights her clone, Max, armed with the shrinkray, tries to figure out who is who. He fortunately ends up shrinking the clone.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: When the Wishbones free all the captured monsters leading to chaos in the space station, Marlene and Maddox flee in their personal ship. They are not seen again.
  • Wedding Smashers: Mila Starr breaks into the wedding to capture Baba Yaga.
  • The Worf Effect: in the previous movie, Dracula was the Big Bad who managed to give the Wishbone family a serious run for their money and was only defeated because his own minions turned on him. Here, upon being unfrozen, he is swiftly defeated and imprisoned by Mila Starr. When he escapes his confinement in the climax he tries to take on the Wishbones again, but they easily defeat him with the shrinkray.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: After their plan to create a new, perfect Mila succeeds, Maddox and Marlene immediately order the new Mila to dispose of the original.
