Trivia / Planet Sheen

  • Actor Allusion: The episode "The Oomlick Maneuver" has Oom, voiced by Candi Milo, at one point skip while singing "Tra la la, la la la la la", much like Candi Milo's character Red from 2 Stupid Dogs.
  • Creator Backlash: John A. Davis later admitted that Sheen was a character who only worked in small doses, so giving him his own TV show caused his appeal to wear thin really fast.
  • Creator Killer: The failure of this series botched Steve Oedekerk's Omation Animation Studios. Nothing has been heard of Omation other than the fact that the the studio still has some projects in development.

  • Franchise Killer: Is most likely one for Jimmy Neutron, since the series was cancelled after only one season and there have since been no attempts at making a new continuation or spinoff, as of the present time.
  • Name's the Same: Dorkus is also the name of a secondary Jimmy Two-Shoes character.
  • The Other Darrin: The Latino Spanish dub was recorded in Venezuela instead of Mexico. This meant that Sheen was no longer Irwin Daayán.
  • Screwed by the Network: Once the abysmal ratings and reviews for the first three episodes came in, Nickelodeon proceeded to air the episodes out of order and then move the series to Nicktoons after it was clear to them the series wasn't performing the way they hoped it would. It was promptly canceled after the 24th episode aired... with the latter two being aired months earlier.

  • Short Runner: Only 26 episodes were made, spread across 2½ years on two different networks.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • There was going to be an Ultra Lord spinoff, but it never came to be, But it became this show.
    • The show was originally going to be more serious. The Emperor was evil, Aseefa was the leader of a resistance group, and Sheen was a double agent working for both sides. This was changed because it was too close to Avatar (the James Cameron film, not that other Nicktoon). Had they not scrapped it, it most likely would've been as successful as the original series.
    • There was going to be a TV movie about Jimmy and the gang going to rescue Sheen, but due to low ratings, production costs and several writers moving on, it was cancelled.
