Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is a launched roller coaster located at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Hogsmeade. The ride is exclusive to the Universal's Islands of Adventure version of the area.

The ride depicts the guests being given a special Care of Magical Creatures lesson by Rubeus Hagrid, who with the help of Arthur Weasley, has duplicates of Sirius Black's motorbike made in order to get the guests to the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest where the lesson can be given. The lesson ends up going awry as Hagrid loses control of the motorbikes, sending the guests on a slight misadventure through the forest, with encounters with its many inhabitants along the way.

The pre-show film features Robbie Coltrane and Mark Williams reprising their roles as Rubeus Hagrid and Arthur Weasley respectively. This would prove to be Coltrane's final appearance as Hagrid prior to his death in 2022. Already very ill by this point, Coltrane was only able to play Hagrid's head. His body was performed by Greg Draven, with the two inserted together in post-production.

The coaster opened on June 13, 2019, replacing Dragon Challenge (formerly known as Dueling Dragons), which closed in preparation for the ride on September 4, 2017. For the technical details, it is a steel launched coaster manufactured by Intamin. It was the most expensive coaster ever built at the time (later beaten by Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind), and it currently still holds the record for the most launches on a single coaster at seven.note

Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure provides examples of:

  • Acceptable Breaks from Reality: You're supposed to be "flying" throughout the whole experience, and yet the roller coaster track you're traveling on is in clear sight. Even the pictured promotional art doesn't shy away from this aspect.
  • Alternate Continuity: Along with the rest of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the ride does not seem to be set during any real particular point in the timeline of the films.
  • Big Red Button: The motorbikes have a big purple button on them that are supposed to activate dragon's fire when pushed.
  • Blinded by the Light: To escape from Devil's Snare, Hagrid has the guests cast Lumos Solem to stun it, which ends up sending the guests dropping down below it.
  • The Cameo: Fluffy, a centaur, and unicorns are among the creatures that make a brief appearance in the ride.
  • Covers Always Lie: Though it's a rather obvious thing to expect, Hagrid does not ride with you in the motorbikes as the promotional art depicts.
  • Easter Egg:
  • Every Car Is a Pinto: The Cornish pixies cause one of the duplicates of the motorbike to explode when they activate the "dragon fire" speed on it.
  • Fake Interactivity:
    • In order to escape from Devil's Snare, Hagrid asks the riders to repeat "Lumos Solem" after him. The spell will occur regardless of whether or not the guests actually say it.
    • Dragon's fire will always activate even if the riders don't push the purple button when Hagrid tells them to.
  • Forbidden Chekhov's Gun: Arthur Weasley warns Hagrid that the "dragon's fire" boost on the motorbikes are only to be used in emergency situations. Towards the finale of the ride, Hagrid has the guests activate it as a means of escaping from a bunch of Blast-Ended Skrewts.
  • Generic Graffiti: The halls of the queue line contains some graffiti left behind by past wizards, with scribbled lines including stuff like the Ravenclaw house motto and "I love Hufflepuff".
  • The Ghost: At the start of the ride, Hagrid tells the guests to "not mind the Thestrals", even though they make no actual appearance in the ride. Justified in that Thestrals are canonically only visible to those who have witnessed another person die in front of them, so it's possible that there are Thestrals hiding somewhere in the forest, unable to be seen.
  • Lighter and Softer: Compared to its direct predecessor, Dragon Challenge, it is more story-focused and relatively lighter on the thrills.
  • Matte Shot: A forest matte painting is used to cover up one of the ride's show buildings.
  • Mythology Gag: In tribute to Dueling Dragons, the queue features an ad for a "Dueling Club", that has images of a red dragon and a blue dragon on it.
  • Nitro Boost: The "dragon fire" boost that allows the motorbikes to go at top speed.
  • No-Sell: Hagrid's attempt at using the Mending Charm on the motorbikes doesn't work, due to his lack of experience with magic.
  • Paper Tiger: Hagrid tells the riders that Fluffy has become this over the years, saying, "his barks are worse than his bites."
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: The Cornish pixies are again depicted as such, being able to partially lift Arthur Weasley into the air without much effort.
  • Plot-Driven Breakdown: While on the way back to the castle, the motorbikes suddenly lose power, sending the riders backwards and deeper into the forest.
  • Rewatch Bonus: The ride experience differs slightly depending on whether you get assigned to sit in the motorbike or the sidecar.
  • Ruins for Ruins' Sake: The ride's queue and station is set in a ruined cathedral that Hagrid appears to be using as a workshop.
  • Secret-Keeper: At the end of the ride, Hagrid asks the guests to refrain from telling the Hogwarts staff about their little misadventure.
  • Self-Duplication: Played with. Though no person is duplicated, a duplication spell is used on Sirius Black's motorbike, explaining how guests are riding on a whole army of them to Hagrid's lesson.
  • Unicorn: The ride ends with an encounter with a mother unicorn and its foal.
  • Work Info Title: Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is a rollercoaster with a narrative where Hagrid guides the riders through a Care for Magical Creatures lesson, and the carts are modeled after motorbikes.
