Recap / The Loud House S 2 E 14 Out Of The Picture Room With A Feud

Go To

Out of the Picture: In an effort to not be the forgotten men of Royal Woods Elementary, Lincoln and Clyde do whatever it takes to get into yearbook group photos.

Room with a Feud: Seeing his sisters squabble with their roommates, Lincoln suggests a roommate shuffle based on a compatibility test he and Clyde took.

"Out of the Picture"

  • The Alleged Computer: Coach Pacowski's computer is very, very slow when uploading the files for the yearbook. This is why Lincoln doesn't have enough time to upload both Lola's new photo and the photos of himself and Clyde, thus forcing him to choose.
  • Ascended Meme: "Clincoln McLoud" winds up becoming this due to an error in the Yearbook Staff photo.
  • Big Ball of Violence: When Lincoln and Clyde crash the Chess Club photo shoot, they knock over the chess board and the members pummel them for it. The brawl ends up in the yearbook.
  • Brick Joke: Coach Pacowski tells Clyde that he always wanted to be an Irish step-dancer, but couldn't because of his fallen arches. At the end, he joins Lincoln and Clyde in step-dancing and hurts his arches.
  • The Bus Came Back: Haiku, one of Lincoln's dates in "Dance, Dance Resolution", returns as part of the Morticians Club with Lucy.
  • Continuity Nod: This is the second time Clyde acts as a therapist to someone.
  • Dream-Crushing Handicap: Coach Pacowski always wanted to be an Irish step-dancer, but his parents wouldn't let him because of his fallen arches.
  • Foreshadowing: Lily is seen holding a tablet in a couple of scenes. She is the one who ultimately supplies Lola with her replacement photo.
  • The Ghost: A student named Marty Malach is mentioned several times, but is never seen. He also seems to be one In-Universe, as he has the reputation of "The Forgotten Man of Royal Woods Elementary" because he was in no group photos.
  • Juxtaposed Halves Shot: Lincoln and Clyde, for being a part of the yearbook staff, end up getting into their yearbook through this kind of photo. It's implied this was an unintentional error.
  • My Friends... and Zoidberg: This is Lola's reaction when she finds that Lincoln and Clyde successfully replaced her yearbook photo:
Lola: Linky, you're the best brother ever! Oh, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you! You too, Clyde.
  • Picture Day: The main plot of the episode.
  • Running Gag: Lincoln and Clyde keep forgetting what Marty Malach's name is.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Although Lincoln admits to Clyde about doing it later, while alone with the yearbook computer, after overhearing Coach Pacowski's story, opts to cancel replacing the yearbook photos he and Clyde edited in lieu of replacing Lola's bad photo.
  • Won't Take "Yes" for an Answer: Lincoln and Clyde's last ditch attempt at getting into the yearbook is to ask Coach Pacowski to be part of the staff, without taking "No" for an answer... at the exact same time Coach wants them to be in the staff, also not wanting a "No".

"Room with a Feud"

  • All Just a Dream: Averted. Lincoln briefly believes this to be the case when he wakes up in his old bedroom, but it turns out his sisters switched back rooms and put him in his own room while he slept.
  • Ash Face: Lincoln due to one of Lisa’s explosions.
  • Baby See, Baby Do: When Lori and Lily temporarily share a room, Lily copies Lori saying "Literally" and texting on her cell phone.
  • Cheshire Cat Grin: Lisa makes one when she denies taking her siblings' DNA samples for her compatibility machine.
  • Continuity Nod: Lisa was also revealed to be bald in "Potty Mouth".
  • Cooking Show: The episode opens with Lincoln watching one of these called Operation Dessert Storm.
  • Covered in Mud: Lincoln when he checks on Lynn and Lana while they are playing with mud/practicing football in their room.
  • Evil Laugh: Lily, of all people, utters one when posting some embarrassing photos she took of Lori on the Internet.
  • "Getting My Own Room" Plot: An Inversion. When Lisa comes up for alternate roommate arrangements for the siblings, she is the only one with her own room. Lincoln accuses her of rigging the result so she could have her own room but Lisa actually prefers a roommate since it gives her an already available test subject.
  • Girls with Moustaches: Lana cuts the hair off of one of Lola’s dolls to make herself a mustache.
  • Glass-Shattering Sound: Luna breaks Lisa's glass containers and glasses by playing a note above D6.
  • Hairstyle Malfunction: Lisa's hair is revealed to be a wig, and under it is a green, pulsating brain. This also happens to Lincoln at the end when he is exposed to one of her chemicals.
  • Hated Item Makeover: When Lola and Lucy try sharing a room, Lucy gets mad at Lola for giving her bust of Edwin (a vampire from a Show Within a Show she watches) a makeover.
Lucy: What have you done to Edwin?
Lola: Brought him into the 21st century. You're welcome!
Lucy: That's my least favourite century.
  • The Hyena: Leni and Luan seem to be ideal roommates since Leni laughs at Luan's jokes, but she doesn't stop laughing even when Luan isn't trying to be funny.
  • I Never Said It Was Poison:
Luan: Uh, how'd you get our DNA samples?
Lisa: (nervously) Did I say DNA samples?
    • Given past episodes, it is very likely that Lisa actually used stool samples.
  • Irony: Lana and Lynn don't get along despite the fact that they are both tomboys.
  • Pungeon Master: The host of Operation Dessert Storm.
  • Sequel Episode: Depending on one’s view or theory, this may be one to Brawl in the Family.
  • Stealth Pun: When Lynn and Leni become roommates, the former is using the latter as a weight. Keep in mind that that Leni is a Dumb Blonde. In other words, Lynn's using her as a dumbbell (dumb belle).
  • Stupid Sacrifice: A non-fatal example. While it's heartwarming the sisters all changed back to their original roommates for Lincoln, it was unnecessary for them all to change back; the only one who actually needed to go back was Lisa, who had switched rooms with Lincoln and it wouldn't have even been a sacrifice for her as she both preferred having a roommate and wasn't shown to be having any problems with rooming with Lily, so the result would've been the same for her either way.
  • Too Much Alike: Lana and Lynn do not get along as roommates despite both being tomboys.
  • You Monster!: Lucy says it when she sees that Lola has given her vampire bust, Edwin, a makeover.
