We couldn't find an image of X-199, so here's a picture of wacky Uncle Jared instead.
"Nosy" is the twenty-fifth episodenote  of Lilo & Stitch: The Series. It first aired on December 19, 2003.

Lilo and the others help Nani make a good impression for her boss, but that proves difficult with an experiment that spills secrets in the way.

Mr. Jameson interviews Nani for a potential promotion to the hotel's rental pavilion.note  The position also requires occasionally helping with the hotel's breakfast celebrations, so Nani tells a bit of a while lie and mentions that she is a great cook. Unfortunately, this means that Mr. Jameson is going to arrive at their house for brunch to seal the deal.

Nani comes home to find the kitchen in shambles after a water-balloon fight broke out between Lilo and Stitch. Nani begins cleaning the house as the duo go to the movies. Just as they are about to head into the show, someone comes out of the theater and spoils the entire movie for them. Stitch is suspicious of this "kid" because he happens to be oddly short, has pink fur and a giant nose, and looks very experiment-like. Stitch tackles the kid and reveals his identity as one of his cousins.

At home, Jumba explains the powers of Experiment 199, which is to find dirty secrets on everyone around him and blurt them out for everyone to hear. Lilo tries to hide him as that sort of ability could mess up Nani's brunch. Afterward, Pleakley teaches everyone the basics of table etiquette (although is off by a mile). However, he was actually supposed to be cooking, as Mr. Jameson will arrive in less than an hour. Pleakley, instead of cooking brunch, has a Yule Log in the oven, but before Nani can do anything about it, Mr. Jameson arrives early (along with his son Keoni) to help out.

After some awkward introductions are made by Jumba and Pleakley, 199 walks into the room and blurts out that everyone is an alien, and that Lilo has a crush on Keoni. 199 is dubbed as "wacky Uncle Jared" by Pleakley as Stitch carries him away. Luckily, Mr. Jameson doesn't seem to put much stock in the revelation and brunch goes on as normal. While Pleakley keeps Mr. Jameson busy with summer yard games, Lilo hastily tries to convince Keoni that she doesn't have a crush on him, to which he says nothing.

Stitch gets rid of 199 by wrapping him up in a present, knocking on the door of Gantu's ship, and giving the experiment to him. 199 tells Gantu he has dirt on Lilo and Stitch. Gantu wants to know about their experiment files, but 199 instead tells him useless information like the love letters in Jumba's drawers or the chocolate macadamia nuts hidden on his spaceship. Frustrated, Gantu immediately transports 199 to Hämsterviel, but not even Hämsterviel wants the experiment, so he sends it back. Gantu tells Reuben to get rid of 199 somehow.

Lilo is worried Keoni is suspicious of her crush and asks Nani for help. Nani makes a deal that if Lilo helps get brunch on the table, she'll cook up a secret plan to handle Keoni. Unfortunately, this "secret plan" is just to dress up Stitch like a boy named "Kenny" and have Lilo pretend that's who she has a crush on. Lilo introduces Kenny to everyone and sits down to eat brunch. Mr. Jameson has a sudden, dramatic realization about the Pelekai family... that by "aliens," wacky Uncle Jared meant "from another country." Everyone breathes a sigh of relief as the brunch continues, but then 199 shows up again.

199 spills the beans on everyone's secrets. That Stitch is an actual alien from outer space (and not Canada), Jumba is an evil scientist, Nani thinks Mr. Jameson is stuck up, and that Pleakley is not a woman! Just when things can't get any worse, Gantu shows up to re-capture 199.note  Lilo very happily allows Gantu to take 199 as Nani tries to damage-control the situation. Mr. Jameson is touched that Nani would give a home to so many odd and wacky people, saying it embodies the true spirit of Aloha hospitality and is perfect for the job at the hotel. Keoni finally talks to Lilo about her crush on him and says it's no big deal — kids get crushes all the time and they're over instantly. That's why he's sure Lilo's crush is already over as well, and Lilo doesn't correct him. That night on Gantu's ship, it's revealed that Gantu must keep 199 on his ship forever or risk being fired by Hämsterviel. As 199 starts telling Reuben about Gantu's embarrassing secrets, it's going to be a very long night indeed.

Experiments who appeared or were mentioned in this episode:

Tropes featured in this episode include:

  • An Aesop: Don't stick your nose in other people's affairs or tell anyone their secrets.
  • Bait-and-Switch: After Mr. Jameson learns of everyone's secrets from Nosy and sees Gantu, Nani immediately assumes she didn't get the job. Turns out, it's because of all the weird and wacky shenanigans that Mr. Jameson believes Nani is cut out to work for him, so he hires her.
  • Call-Back: After Nani gets the job from Mr. Jameson, Keoni tells Lilo that crushes come and go, and he only had a crush on Pleakley for that one week. However, the episode that depicted this ("Hunkahunka") first aired after this episode, which technically makes this trope an inverted Call-Forward. (Though see the note in Series Continuity Error for some clarification.)
  • Did Not Think This Through: Gantu becomes so fed up with Nosy's gossip that he pawns him off onto Dr. Hämsterviel, only to belatedly realize that the gossipy experiment will tell Hämsterviel the insulting nicknames Gantu made up for him (Ratface, Hamsterjerk, and Kiesterviel). Hämsterviel, in turn, is so infuriated by those names that he sends Nosy back to insult Gantu without realizing that Nosy now has all kinds of juicy gossip about him (starting with the fact that he sleeps with a pacifier).
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Nosy falls under this being one of the few experiments Lilo and Stitch willingly let Gantu take, even hand-delivering him to Gantu inside a present. Not even Gantu wants him, and immediately sends him to Hämsterviel, who sends him back to Gantu, who sends him back to Lilo and Stitch, who eventually gives him back to Gantu.
  • Given Name Reveal: Thanks to Gantu reading Hämsterviel's journal (which Nosy stole), we find out that Hämsterviel's real first name is "Rupert", meaning that "Jacques" is most likely his middle name.
  • Motor Mouth: Part of what also makes Nosy so annoying. The second Nosy discovers anyone's (and everyone's) secrets, he will not. Stop. Talking.
  • Series Continuity Error: Keoni mentioning his crush on Pleakley that he had in "Hunkahunka"; that episode actually comes after this one.note
  • Tempting Fate: After Nosy exposes several secrets to Mr. Jameson at the end of the episode, Nani tries to reassure him that everything is normal. Cue Gantu, the giant shark alien, appearing and threatening to destroy everyone if they don't give up Nosy.
  • Wilting Odor: Stitch exhales in his hand after Nosy tells him Lilo thinks he's got bad breath. He does this right beside a vase of flowers, which droop the moment he walks away from them.
  • You Need a Breath Mint: Stitch finds out from Nosy that Lilo wrote in her diary that Stitch has bad breath. So Stitch exhales in his hand to prove himself wrong. Even though Stitch believes his breath smells "minty fresh", the flowers next to him don't agree.
