"The Stand-up Mouse" provides examples of:

  • Animated Actors: Floyd. When he gets denied a part on the show, he quits, rents his mouse hole out to Myron, and tries to get a part on a new show. He reconsiders when he finds out the new show is Giant Robot Ninja Pussycats.
  • Brick Joke: At the beginning of this episode, Garfield acts like a restaurant critic, giving Jon a C- for service, a B- for promptness, a C for quality of food, a D- for quantity of food, and an F for ambience, causing Jon to kick him out. At the end of the episode, Garfield decides to give Floyd a part after all, as a strolling violinist.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: When Floyd says that Garfield won't chase mice, he says that she should sell tickets so other mice can see him for themselves, and that's exactly what he decides to do.
  • Get Out!: Early in the episode, Jon kicks Garfield out of the kitchen for giving it a negative review, telling him not to come back until he learns not to complain so much.
  • Out of Focus: In-Universe; Floyd is once again upset over his lack of appearances on the show.
  • Sarcasm-Blind: This exchange after Garfield acts like a restaurant critic towards Jon.
Jon: I suppose you'd like a strolling violinist to play while you eat?
Garfield: You think you can arrange that?
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Myron leaves when Floyd returns.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: In-Universe; Floyd accuses both Penelope and the Singing Ants of getting more attention on the show than him.
  • Teenage Mutant Samurai Wombats: The show that Floyd auditions for is Giant Robot Ninja Pussycats.note
  • You Are Fat: Myron tells Garfield to chase him, as he (Myron) needs the exercise, and from the looks of it, Garfield could stand to drop a few pounds. Garfield is insulted and refuses to chase Myron for this.

"Daydream Doctor" provides examples of:

  • Alliterative Title: Daydream Doctor.
  • The Cameo:
    • Binky the Clown appears as one of Orson's fantasy creatures that chases the Weasel away.
    • After the Weasel gets chased away, Garfield appears after Orson tells Furrow that he read a book on Garfield cartoons.
  • Exit, Pursued by a Bear: The Weasel gets chased away by the creatures from Orson's fantasies.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: This exchange between Orson and Bo when the former accuses the latter of not standing guard for the Weasel;
Orson: Bo, you were supposed to be guarding the chickens!
Bo: Like, I don't think so, man!
Orson: Like, I think so, Bo! I have the guard schedule right here, and it clearly says "2:00, Chicken Coop Guard Duty, Orson". ...Orson? Orson? Bo, I am sorry!
Bo: Hey, it's like, okay, man.
Orson: No, it's like, not okay! Because of me, the chickens were almost... oh no!
  • Heads or Tails?: Roy decides to flip a coin to see who gets to guard the chickens from the Weasel, with Heads being Bo gets to stand guard, and Tails being Roy gets to take a nap. Upon hearing this, Bo tells Roy that he's not as dumb as he thinks he is, and then tells him Heads means that Roy gets to take a nap and Tails means that Bo gets to stand guard. Roy then says "I guess I can't fool you, Bo.", and after the coin lands on Tails, Bo says "Well, at least it was like, uh, fair and square."
  • Immediate Self-Contradiction: When Furrow tries to hypnotize Orson into falling asleep, Orson tells him that he can't be hypnotized because his mental powers are too strong... and then he falls asleep.
  • My Card: When the Weasel's first plan to steal chickens is foiled by Orson and Roy, he comes across Furrow, who shows him his business card.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Edward R. Furrow is a parody of the late Edward R. Murrow.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: The Weasel is able to fool Bo by disguising himself as a chicken.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Chickens for the Weasel. When Furrow asks him why he likes to eat chicken, the Weasel tells him that his mother raised him to steal chickens.

"Happy Garfield Day" provides examples of:

  • Big Eater: Garfield, as usual. During "The Twelve Courses of Dinner", he eats eleven veal cutlets, ten beef burritos, nine sukiakis, eight chili burgers, seven baked potatoes, six sausage pizzas, five onion rings, four pounds of shrimp, three bean salad, two prime ribs, lasagna prima verde, and seconds of the previous eleven courses.

    • Wade and Sheldon also appear watching the show during the tenth verse.
  • Cold Turkeys Are Everywhere: On the days leading up to Garfield's birthday, Jon is unable to escape reminders of that fact, even when he tries to hide out in Mexico.
  • Here We Go Again!: After "The Twelve Courses of Dinner" ends, Garfield gives Jon a reminder; only 365 more days until Garfield's next birthday.
  • Shoot the Television: Jon does this when he sees a news report saying it's only two more days until Garfield's birthday. (He doesn't break it this time, though.)
  • Singing Telegram: Three days before Garfield's birthday, Jon gets a singing telegram as a reminder.
Roses and red and orchids are gray,
Garfield's birthday is three days away!
  • The Twelve Spoofs of Christmas: The climax of this episode has Garfield celebrating his birthday by leading a sing-along of "The Twelve Courses of Dinner". Of course, for the twelfth course, he says "I'd like seconds, please", and proceeds to start speeding up the song by skipping the other verses for the eight through eleventh courses and having the singers blitz through the twelfth course.
  • Your Television Hates You: Two days before Garfield's birthday, Jon seems relieved when it seems as if Garfield has stopped giving him reminders about his birthday, so he decides to watch the news, where the anchor announces that Garfield's birthday is two days away.
