Player and companions

    Player Character
The Player Character. They happen to find themself in the middle of the zombie apocalypse and will have to fight against these undead horrors and even other survivors if they wish to make it out alive.

  • Ambiguous Gender: Are they male? Female? Other? Robot? It's never elaborated on or referred to.
  • Batter Up!: Baseball bats are powerful, but take two hands to use. They come in different levels of quality, but all of them pack a hell of a punch.
  • Cool Sword: Swords can be found quite easily, and are effective weapons for slicing through foes, humans and zombies alike.
  • Devoured by the Horde: It's possible to be eaten alive by zombies if you're overwhelmed by them.
  • Dual Wielding: If the weapons are small enough, it's possible and effective to have one in each hand, allowing you to attack twice each turn.
  • Flat Character: Deliberately so. They serve as a stand-in for the person playing the game, offering a glimpse into what life may be like in a zombie apocalypse.
  • Genre Savvy: If the player knows the right choices to make, they can thrive in this apocalypse, using their knowledge of zombie media to properly read the situation.
  • Hammerspace: They somehow can carry an unlimited amount of items in their bag, potentially being able to hold a military stockpile worth of weapons in a dinky bagpack.
  • Hand Cannon: While not the flashiest of firearms, hand cannons are one of the easiest and earliest firearms to obtain, and can cut through zombies like swiss cheese.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: A few katanas can be obtained while travelling through the world, even if some of them happen to be crappy replicas with the made in China tags still taped to them.
  • The Many Deaths of You: There's an insanely large amount of ways that they can potentially meet their end. They can easily fall in combat if they're overwhelmed or underequipped, or they can be killed by making bad choices in certain situations.
  • No Name Given: Their name is never mentioned.
  • Oh, Crap!: Being swarmed by zombies is almost certain death, unless the player is lucky enough to escape their onslaught.
  • Player Character: They are the person that's controlled throughout the game. Their actions and decisions are up to the player to make, though the outcomes are beyond their control.
  • Too Dumb to Live: There are some options that amount to Schmuck Bait, and choosing them tends to have predictable results. Blindly rushing into harm's way or taking on a horde of zombies are the most frequent causes for this.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Sometimes, they can act inappropiately considering the situation and die horribly because of it. This is completely up to player choice though.

    Dave
A best friend of the player character. He's next door to them.
  • Anyone Can Die: Your Best Friend can meet his end if he's defeated in combat, showing that the player character isn't the only one whose not safe from the zombies and sadistic survivors.
  • Batter Up!: He has a baseball bat on him, using it as his default weapon.
  • Best Friend: He's this to the player character.
  • Devoured by the Horde: His fate if you're not careful.
  • Genre Savvy: He seems to know his stuff, suggesting to move out of the suburbs, due to the overwhelming amount of zombies residing there.
  • Hand Cannon: He has a revolver in his house, perfect for usage.
  • Killed Off for Real: If he dies in combat, he won't come back.

NPC's

Hostiles

    Zombies
They're zombies, they like brains, and they're deadly in large numbers. Don't get bitten by them.
  • Body Horror: As with most zombies in fiction, they're disfigured and grotesque looking, acting as animalistic and disgusting as their appearance.
  • Deadly Lunge: They'll do this if they get close to the player character or their allies.
  • Flesh-Eating Zombie: Well, it's kind of what they're known for. Let them and they won't disappoint.
  • Gonk: They've got a face that only a mother zombie could love.
  • Room Full of Zombies: They sometimes like to invade closed spaces, trying to trap people in and eat them.
  • Zerg Rush: If there's enough of them, they'll attempt to overwhelm and overpower the Player Character.
  • Zombie Apocalypse: They're the harbingers of it after all. They won't disappoint, killing and eating every living thing in their path.
  • Zombie Gait: They're slow moving in most circumstances, but very dangerous when they get close to you or your friends.
