     Kanatsune Ame

  • Anti-Gravity Clothing: His scarf, which seems to float in midair.
  • Apologetic Attacker: He has a habit of apologizing or telling people he (temporarily) kills that he takes no joy in it.
  • The Only One I Trust: Zigzagged. He has chronic trust issues due to the trauma he faced after finding his parents’ murdered corpses, leading him to purposely sabotage his friendships to get ahead . By the end, he reveals that there is one coworker (Atsuna Gumie) that he does trust, but he’s still incredibly suspicious of her.
  • The Stoic: Deconstructed.
    • He is extremely calm under the pressure of the situation, and does not hesitate to Kill several of the others to gain additional information.
    • It’s revealed that he’s actually a rather sensitive person, but is merely trying to hide himself for fear of vulnerability.
  • Touch of Death: He has the ability to do this through magic.

     Rashmi Jamil
  • Childhood Friends: With Amelie.
  • Magical Accessory: Their key-shaped pendant, which allows them to unlock the end of the time loop (also falls under Cool Key)
  • The Smart Guy: Deconstructed. They feel incredibly insecure about their intelligence, since their physically and emotionally abusive husband had always been “the smartest in the room”.
    • They end up projecting an outward air of confidence, while still being incredibly insecure
    • They are still incredibly intelligent, though, often being one to suggest solutions to puzzles within the time loop
     Amelie Maçon
  • Childhood Friends: With Rashmi.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Reacts to many of her situations with sarcasm (including, but not limited to: Near-death experiences and impromptu cooking competitions).
     Loam Arnault
  • Fallen Angel: Figuratively And literally, as 'angels' and 'demons' are the same species for which killing humans is anathema.
  • False Friend: Played with and deconstructed.
    • At first, Loam Arnault seems to be a kind-hearted if not slightly secretive main character
    • In the end, she turns out to be the Hidden killer in several of the time loops, as well as a demon named Baphomet.
    • But in the end, it’s revealed that they actually do care about the group imprisoned in the loops, even if it’s in a twisted way.
      • As said in the epilogue of the game: “The wonderful friend and the egomaniac all at once.”

     Stephanie Mc Germanotta
  • Creepy Loner Girl: She doesn't get along with others, has dark hair, and generally speaks in a subdued way. When she does make conversation, she's frequently abrasive or outright cruel.
  • Magic Music: Her singing, specifically.

     Shinjiro Nozomi
  • Anger Born of Worry: He frequently expresses this, alongside his regular anger.
  • Angry Chef: Especially in one scene, where he almost fights Amelie (another chef) over the proper way to solve a food-based puzzle.

     True Whitman

  • Gentleman and a Scholar: In this case, a gentlewoman and a scholar. True repeatedly shows large amounts of courtesy, even in an understandably stressful situation (read: Being trapped in a never-ending timeloop with only a few other people for company).
  • Great Big Book of Everything: His main power is a book that gives him access to infinite knowledge... Well, as long as he finds the proper index for it. Doubles as a Cursed Item, since it nearly destroyed his health, and does occasionally kill people.
  • Ironic Name: Said best by the game itself;
Hailey: Your name is True Whitman! But you're not white! Or a man! It's a little surprising!
  • Late Coming Out: Came out as bigender in his late adult life, after finding the book and starting his journey of discovery. He uses masculine pronouns, and feminine terms (e.g. “he’s a pretty cool lady”).
  • Mysterious Stranger: Deconstructed, as this is more of a loneliness issue for him. As he says in his flashback: “I wanted to be revered, but only in moments.” Also has to do with being afraid to come out of the closet in a way that could hurt him. Fortunately, by the end of the game, he was able to make a few friends who were also trapped in the timeloop.
  • Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure: When Peri makes a reference to the hit mobile game Among Us, True assumes that she’s speaking French.

     Jasper Jasmine 'Jazz' Jekyll
  • Amnesia Danger: What she has the Power to avoid. Unlike the others, she is unaffected by the normal memory loss at the end of each time loop.
  • Skewed Priorities: On the subject of escaping the timeloop at the end of the game, after nearly dying
Angie: And your big takeaway from that is that you need to incorporate it in your Master’s paper?
Jazz: “Yuh-huh.”

     Abel Moreau
  • Awesome Backpack: He has a magical backpack, which allows him to store infinite objects. Its origin is revealed to be extremely tragic, as he got the backpack right after his brother dies, once the stress of the event causes him to create a magical Wish. Gets even worse when the player realizes that his parents were actively trying to get his brother to kill Abel, in order to get the Wish to appear in the first place.
  • Best Friend: With Peri.
  • Better as Friends: With Peri. They’re both aroace. The creator of the game wrote on his blog how the two end up facing a lot of trauma due to the aphobia from their peers [1]
  • Interracial Adoption Struggles: His White parents ignore all of his worries about the racism he faces for being Black in a predominantly White neighborhood and social circle, which leads him to feeling an unhealthy amount of guilt and self-blame, when he really did nothing wrong.
  • Rich Kids: His parents are extremely wealthy, and he spends his life in a mansion.

     Peri Dubois
  • Best Friend: With Abel.
  • Better as Friends: With Abel. They’re both aroace. The creator of the game wrote on his blog how the two end up facing a lot of trauma due to the aphobia from their peers [2]
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Raised as a bodyguard her whole life, she is frighteningly quick to suggest violence.

     Malcom Shingle

     Touko Nozomi
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Her motivation for trying to find her missing brother, since she believes that if she does find him, she can live as a “normal” person again.
  • Kid Detective: Played with. After her brother goes missing, she ends up doing detective work to find him while still young.

     JJ Mc Germanotta

     Madeline Nenohara
