openUseful Notes pages
I don't remember if this question has been answered or not in the past, or maybe I just can't find a specific thing pointing to it. In any case...
Are Useful Notes pages allowed to have subpages? Because someone added a YMMV page to the Academy Award space, and I'm not sure if it's correct.
There's also a Laconic and a Quotes page as well.
Edited by ArctimonopenThe character page for the 1990 Flash series
I was asked to help on editing the Arrowverse character page so I checked and noticed that The Flash (1990) character page is under the Earth-90 page. I mean should it be on its own page since it's an independent show? Other properties that appeared in Crisis on Infinite Earths (2019) retained their respective character pages so it's just weird.
openRedirect Issues with YMMV
So, I've been moving the stuff from "Today's Menu for Emiya Family" to "Today's Menu for the Emiya Family" due to the typo in the work title.
Everything went swimmingly except for the YMMV page, which refuses to be redirected to the new one.
What should I do?
open Unintentional Wimp trope? Film
So, I wanted to put in a trope about how Cole from Mortal Kombat 2021, despite being the main character and The Chosen One in this universe, can't actually defeat anyone without help. In every one of his fights, he's needed somebody else to intervene or else he's defeated. I can't use Adaptational Wimp because he's made specifically for that film, I can't use Badass Decay because he wasn't exactly a badass to begin with, and as far as I know, there's no Unintentional Wimp trope. What would be the proper trope here?
openWikiword issues/revert
Submitted a wikiword request for Music. Her, and it was approved but it looks like it’s applying to all the pages with the namespace, including the film Film.Her. Asking to revert for now, I thought it would only apply to the Music namespace.
open Cleats Print Comic
Does anybody remember Cleats? That comic strip about the young athletes?
open Consistently Poor TLP Work
Adembergz has been repeatedly creating stub drafts with no examples (or sometimes no description), and then instead of working on them, they just make more.
Here's the two they've made that are on the front page right now. I know there's more but don't have time to dig. I would appreciate help.
And guys, please don't go and mass-bomb these drafts. I'm not making this report to bring unnecessary attention to garbage drafts that can just be mod-nuked.
Edit: They also apparently rogue-launched Factory Game, but because they're suspended the launch isn't actually going through, so the trope is just stuck in limbo.
Edited by WarJay77open any grammatical errors?
My first language is not English. I edited the page. Could you check if there are any grammatical errors?

openEdit warring Print Comic
The Swordsman edited the Venom: Main Hosts page so that Eddie Brock's folder listed Sleeper and Carnage as identities he's had. I removed them because these aren't names the character ever officially adopted — they're symbiotes he's worn, but that doesn't mean he takes on the name.
The Swordsman added them back without discussion, with an edit reason saying that doesn't matter, even though I'm fairly certain it does, since otherwise, anyone who's ever worn a symbiote with a name for even an issue gets the name (Eddie wore Sleeper for like two issues and it also once possessed a corpse).
Edited by FuzzyBarbarianopenLinking a related work's Kickstarter
Radiant Black is an ongoing comic series from Image. The book is promoting the Kickstarter for a graphic novel called Inferno Girl Red, from a different writer, with the writers for both works saying that the two are connected, and Inferno Girl Red also appeared in Radiant Black already.
Is it okay to mention it as a related work and link the Kickstarter in the lead section of Radiant Black's page?
Edited by FuzzyBarbarianopenHow to become a successful troper?
I am a newbie to TV Tropes and I am interested especially in creating Laconic and Playing With pages and Trope Launch Pad. Any experiences?
openImages look artifacted
Is it just me, or do many images on this website appear artifacted for some reason? And it’s not that the images themselves are artifacted; it seems like the site is the root of the problem, since the images look fine if you open them in their own tabs.
openConfusion Regarding the Definition of Total Party Kill
I believe that I've brought this up in the "Is this an example?" thread before, but while browsing some pages, I came across Total Party Kill and am rather confused regarding the contrast between the trope description and the examples people are giving for it, mainly when applied to video games.
From my understanding, the trope is meant to apply to when the entire party is killed, regardless of things like health, statuses, etc. However, some of the examples, mainly in the RPG section, fall into the category of "you'll only die to this if everyone doesn't have enough health and/or adequate protection against this". This effectively makes it so that anything in a game can be a TPK if the whole party is at 1 HP and the attack does damage to everyone at once.
Even the most recent example added, from Far Cry Primal, describes a situation where everyone except one character dies.
Is this trope just undergoing a large amount of misuse or something?
openWhat do we do when a work is deleted but there's still plenty of evidence of it?
Quick summary: there was a Friday Night Funkin' mod by the name of VS Sky, based off a parody Tik Tok account. The mod was recently removed because people didn't understand the account was a parody and were harassing the one behind it. There are a lot of videos of this mod and even some Recursive Fanfiction, however, and quite a few videos displaying the entire Week - we even have a trope page for it.
And that leads to this question; because the mod is still viewable, even if it isn't playable, does the trope page stay up?
(Sidenote: this entire query spurred because someone rec'd the mod on FFR pages, seemingly in response to the mod being deleted)
openYMMV entry without a work page? Music
Just stumbled upon YMMV.Trouble, which is soft-split between the comic and the band. Thing is, we don't have a page for the band, so is this okay?
openAsking for a mod revert Western Animation
I'm asking for a mod revert of the last edit on the page Characters. My Little Pony Equestria Girls Sunset Shimmer.
Troper Punitivefool14 has edited it, clearly with a the intent of removing the old folders ("Characterization and Background", etc.) to replace them with alphabetical folders, but completely mucked up the formatting in the process, removing all the bullet points, wiki words and line breaks.
openRescued From question
YMMV.The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Episode 6 One World One People:
- Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: This episode went a long way towards redeeming John Walker in the eyes of many viewers by having him join forces with Sam and Bucky and helping save the hostages, even ditching his shield and forgoing his quest for revenge to do so. When Val gives him a new unique suit and dubs him US Agent, it's hard not to feel happy for him as he celebrates being back in the game.
He was never a Scrappy. He was supposed to be disliked for that, what he got was closer to Love to Hate. It's also before the waiting period for Scrappy.
Can Rescued apply if the character was never a Scrappy or a Base-Breaking Character? Especially if being disliked than redeemed was the intended reaction all along as opposed to a fix.
I've asked before to no clear answer. That was before we implemented the waiting period. Does that change things or help give an answer? I also asked Scrappy cleanup but any other opinions would be welcome.
openPunching superman through a wall syndrome
Does anyone know how to give alternate names to tropes? I want to give "The Worf Effect" the alternate title of "punching superman through a wall syndrome" after Red from Overly Sarcastic Productions called it such in her "powerhouses" video.
openEdit war on Resident Evil Village YMMV page
We have an edit war on Resident Evil Village.
123ninja originally wrote an entry for Author's Saving Throw that read:
Emeriin deleted the example with the edit reason "is 'toning down sex appeal' really such a problem to warrant Author's Saving Throw?"
123ninja then re-added the example with the edit reason "The devs deliberately altered Jill's original outfit for the remake. It's more than 'they just put pants on her'"
What should be done in this situation?
EDIT: Apparently this is not the first time 123ninja has been brought up regarding questionable edits about female characters' clothing.
Edited by dragonfire5000
I can't find any evidence that Muta Heart actually exists and on the Troper Works page it says it isn't published yet. It hasn't been edited in years. I think Awesome Zombie 22 created it, but they haven't been active since 2014.
