By his logic, isn't Peter Parker Venom 0? If Brock wore the Carnage symbiote but never adopted the Carnage alias, then that would be misuse.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. That one I assume is because the symbiote wasn't using a name yet. However... there's a page called "Other Hosts of Venom"... which DON'T get "Venom [number]" because... reasons?
The troper also tried to add Captain Universe to Eddie's folder, but Eddie just used the Enigma Force for like 3 issues recently. He never actually called himself Captain Universe.
They seem to really be stretching to just add names to his folder for some reason.
But more importantly — yeah, edit warring.
Bump.
Seeing as it's considered misuse (and no one has said otherwise), I'll revert The Swordsman's edits, but it would be nice to get a bit more input on it before.
However, I mostly posted this to bring the edit war to the mods' attention.
Edited by FuzzyBarbarianFor one thing I did not add the Carnage V name, that was Arawn 999. I did however restore his edit exactly once and follow his example and when Arawn 999 cut my new Captain Universe addition, It was cut without issue. It wasn't a edit war. Also if you really wanted to discuss it out you could've used the discussion page or notify us with this topic instead of only notifying us after your recent bump.
The official title given for Peter by Marvel while wearing the Venom symbiote is Symbiote Spider-Man. This like Sleeper or Carnage are titles given by Marvel out of universe which is presumably why Arawn 999 originally added it. (and the reason I gave for readding it.) The Symbiote Spider-Man moniker is seen in his spin off book and countless other media.

You did add it, though. You just didn't add it first.
You added it and Sleeper on the 9th of February, I removed it, you re-added it. It's still edit warring.
Also, the Symbiote Spider-Man one is at least indicative of what it is and lets people distinguish it from how Spider-Man normally is. But the Sleeper and Carnage stuff, out of universe from Marvel or not (and I don't recall seeing it out of universe either), doesn't apply within the work itself. I took another look at the two whole issues that Eddie is bonded to the Carnage symbiote that the Marvel wiki cites as when he became Carnage (this problem is rampant there too when it comes to aliases)... but he doesn't take the name. At all. He's not even called Carnage. He's just bonded to the symbiote — if that alone lets him get the name, anyone ever bonded to any symbiote has adopted their name.
It's even more erroneous with Captain Universe — the reason for the removal was it being a spoiler, but Eddie isn't called that ONCE, which should be the actual reason. Reed says "Captain Universe" when referring to the God of Light, and nobody calls Eddie that when he's using the Enigma Force.
Tropers seem to be going out of their way to give Eddie codenames for no reason.
Edited by FuzzyBarbarianArawn 999 added Carnage first on Dec 27th, on the 9th Feb I added Sleeper to the overall list, which I never contested. Looking at the official page for the definition, you are correct and from what I understand the third edit is the threshold, with edits succeeding it resulting in a suspension for both parties regardless of context. (which hopefully this page, despite you not contacting us till later, has O Ked the 4th edit by the mods) For that I apologize, I had thought a war took at least 2 cycles.
As for Captain Universe, the whole gimmick with CU is that anyone can be the hero/ine the only requirement is that they are bonded to the Uni-Power. From what I remember despite being one the more well known hosts, Spider-Man when he was bonded to it never went by the name either, however despite this he is still counted as one by Marvel and its other media spin-offs. Which is why I added it.
Captain Universe as an alias is not just being empowered by the Uni-Power.
Spinoff media and the like is going to do whatever, especially when it comes to Spidey and making merch and alternate costumes (they're gonna use a Captain Universe for that, it's just branding). But this is about actual aliases the comic characters use.
The Swordsman edited the Venom: Main Hosts page so that Eddie Brock's folder listed Sleeper and Carnage as identities he's had. I removed them because these aren't names the character ever officially adopted — they're symbiotes he's worn, but that doesn't mean he takes on the name.
The Swordsman added them back without discussion, with an edit reason saying that doesn't matter, even though I'm fairly certain it does, since otherwise, anyone who's ever worn a symbiote with a name for even an issue gets the name (Eddie wore Sleeper for like two issues and it also once possessed a corpse).
