This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:
- creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
- moving discussion pages
- moving reviews
Please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
- Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
- If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
- We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
- If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here

- If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
- To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
- Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
- Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
- Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

Hi, I'd like to request a redirect for Quest to the West. After plenty of discussion, the consensus is that Westward Journey, the second best title choice, would make a good redirect / alternate title. Thanks.
Maybe I missed something but there does not seem to be any discussion on such a title.

The Fire Emblem info comes from press releases. The lock was requested because the fanbase is unpleasable and the page attracted really shitty and complainy edits.
The Pokemon info is also based on press release material, though I have no idea why the pages are locked.

To elaborate on Karxrida's point, there was a Nintendo Direct video yesterday which revealed the information Karxrida wanted to put onto Fire Emblem Warriors. Personally, I still think the page should be locked to avoid the bad edits and complaining that got the page locked in the first place, but the information Karxrida wants to add in isn't bad.

There's an awful lot of discussion so it's easy to miss it. The most relevant bits I can find are:

This seems like an overreaction. "West is where we all plan to go" doesn't sound like a line of dialogue to me, not one we're likely to hear, unless you're dealing with a bad screenwriter.
But Westward Journey is in fact better.
It's scattered over several years. And maybe not enough? I still got out of it that Westward Journey and Quest to the West were deemed the best titles, and the latter described the trope a bit better so it was chosen, but Westward Journey is worth keeping as a redirect. People probably have equal chances of typing variations of either title when searching for the trope.
(Sorry if I'm somehow doing it wrong, it's my first time asking for a redirect)

Please change a misspelling in the Gendercide entry: "until there's not a single human being left"
Also, please add under "Sexist against Men"

Men are both lecherous and violent, and will force themselves on women (or even other men) without exception. It suggests that A] men are inherently bestial and that women can only ever be safe around other women, B] men raping men is not an issue, since they're all bastards anyway, and C] women raping other women is not a thing that exists.

I also agree that it should be locked, especially since she recently published a book that stirred up the dust (so to speak) and got people caring about her again. No idea how long it'll be until the dust settles.
