Dream II

To prevent full thread chaos, writers should keep the following in mind:

  • New locations that your characters find in the forest should be added to the "Locations" list.
  • Like in the previous thread, writers with characters in the same Cast Herd will be taking turns to come up with new locations, but your characters can still leave a mark on places established by other writers, if you wish.
  • While it is encouraged to bring things into the dream that evoke strong emotions in your character or bring back certain memories, be mindful of your fellow writers and make sure everyone has an opportunity for character exploration.

    Locations
  • Forest: These misty woods serve as an in-between place for the other areas. Distances are not fixed, so you can wander this area as much or as little as you like before arriving somewhere else.
  • Farm: A small, well-used blue-painted barn and pasture, enclosed by a fence and gate. Strangely, it seems to be morning, but only within the confines of the Farm's pasture fence. Its animals are slowly returning.
  • Ritter Clinic: A house/ medical clinic by a frozen river. The area around it is snowing heavily. It's formally known as the Gamino District 2 Clinic, but the people of Andelin have taken to calling it after their local doctor ever since he was assigned there.
  • Wasteland: Arid badlands where the soil is red and dusty, complete with a barren city. Hot, dry and desolate. A deeply hostile environment... except for the Hakoda Imperial Academy nestled within the city, a safe haven containing a large garden with birds fluttering about.
  • Ruins: The remains of an ancient civilization, with partially collapsed buildings and many statues and carvings featuring fanged creatures. The shadows of those who lived here remain, as do the shadows of the undead who lived here.
  • Tranquil Underworld: A subterranean realm of memory and healing, in which lie unfulfilled dreams waiting to be made real and preserved beings of past eras. Its Gate lies under a small pyramid with a bell atop, which is periodically ringed by the Gatekeeper. The Underworld proper is an infinitely big upside-down tower inside a star-filled void, that combines architectures of various eras, inhabited by cursed people in various degrees of insanity, and their ghostly caretakers.note
  • San Francisco: From Lauren and Henry's memories. Two versions: hippie-era (1967) at their house, and 1980s at their warehouse/residence.note
  • The Eldritch Factory: Mysterious place of organic design, the place is much like a factory- Entire sections dedicated to the creation of specific components, such as The Forest of Bone (littered with 'trees' resembling humans reaching skyward) and The Heart Forge (a giant heart-like dome where blood flows like water, with hearts being grown) amongst other areas. Connecting it all together is Sanity's Descent, the only known way to enter and leave.
  • The Graveyard: A place ravaged by ancient magical warfare, contaminated and twisted. The laws of physics are notoriously weak around here, with all sorts of weirdness going on.
  • Misery Manor: An old dark haunted house inhabited by zombies, originating in a Death World, but recently re-located to the Graveyard. The interior of the manor used to be cursed such that its appearance and architecture reflects the deepest, darkest fears of anyone who enters, but now it's just an ordinary collapsed and abandoned house.note
  • Beta Town: A small city populated by unfriendly robots, ruled by a Humongous Mecha named Lord Metatronic. Originally from the virtual world of Mystrica, where the Elemental Guardians are from.note
  • Yukijou-minato: A port town where the Senjimese Navy's Northern Fleet is based. Located to the south are Akamori, the pine barrens, and Yukijō(Snow Castle), a massive castle complex with a five story main keep. The north part of town contains the harbor and naval shipyards.
  • Twilight Ball: A lively gathering taking place in an open-air and open-sky (through a glass ceiling) hall with an aesthetic similar to Crystal Spires and Togas (minus the togas), in the twilight region of a Tidally Locked Planet called Orenya. There's a stage, several tables, and even a buffet serving every kind of food and drink imaginable.
  • Marble Corridor: A plain marble corridor. It is lined with arched windows that currently show pristine snowfields stretching out as far as the eye can see.
  • Field of Souls: An eternally dark wasteland with a powerful magic field that makes thoughts manifest as images. Contains crystals that separate souls from their bodies, which Ferisen also used to create her latria. Located on the planet Orenya, where the Four Bardic Sisters are from.
  • Eight Wings Library: A Library from the Arginan Empire, maintained by the Church, were works of almost all areas of knowledge are stored, as well as preserved exemplars of both artworks and lifeforms native to Argina, numerous lesser relics and a temple (complete with sacrificial chamber). Its name comes from its eight curved halls, each with windows for a color of the rainbow, and a windowless one that acts as a deposit (and is very restricted in its access).note
  • Cathedral of the Four Swords: A Creepy Cathedral in eternal night, with a Weird Moon, a garden of dead roses, and spectral bells which play to the mind. Offers "baptisms" in two pools inside: one which evokes pleasant dreams and the other which evokes nightmares.
  • Rozeta Marga: A once bustling tropical port city upon man-made islands, now an abandoned ruin. One of the islands has been overrun by kudzu.
  • Magdalene's Realm - A field of bright yellow flowers created by Magdalene in the image of her ideal world. Its most notable feature is a massive tree that looks like a cross between a cherry tree and a rose bush.note
  • Shinkyo Market District: The busy and chaotic market district of the Senjimese Empire's capitol city, albeit the spirit/dream realm's Bazaar of the Bizarre version that consists of anachronistic Bizarrchitecture.
  • Eneritan: A village in the clouds underneath the late afternoon sun. In its center is a gazebo of gold called the Hall of Healing, which is said to cure any ailment, and even reverse death. Unfortunately it's now inactive, due to a quadruple solar eclipse that made it fall.
  • Garden in the Sky: The fallen remains of Eneritan, sitting atop a high mountain in Endless Daytime, containing only the white shell of the Hall of Healing, which ended up in its own location in the middle of the Forest. Needs flowers planted around it.
