A mad-man has appeared on the street! What is his purpose, and what will he do? Is he a new hero, or a new villain? What unknowable truths does this man know? One thing is for sure, his tools and name do not lend themselves to heroics. In fact, let's get the details for them now! He may only have one at the moment, but the rest will follow.

The Cultist is a crossover quest between The DCU, Cultist Simulator, and Hazbin Hotel. The main character is a person who suddenly found himself in a world populated with DC characters and is trying to live out his life while at the same time becoming a god using the magic powers he finds himself somehow possessing. It is complete as of October 22, 2020.

The Cultist has examples of:

  • Academy of Adventure: As a result of becoming a nexus of magical activity, Stepford College has a lot of things happening there.
Like Gotham and Metropolis. This campus is a place ‘where things happen.’ You’ve accounted for two man eating spirits, three spirits of mischief, at least a half dozen spirits involved in conflict, and one spirit of christmas (Not Santa, though he’s probably going to visit when it’s actually time.)
  • All for Nothing:
    • Solomon goes through the trouble of getting backup from Charlie, Raven, Zatanna, and the Justice League's sidekicks when he goes to recruit Jason Blood/Etrigan. After fighting a demon and a bunch of gang members and defeating them, he finds that Jason Blood/Etrigan is on vacation, with only a note there saying to leave a message.
‘An ill wind blows my way, so I shall be taking a long vacation. Please leave a message and I will get back to you in time.’
    • When going to loot Circe's island, Solomon only finds an empty vault, with the exception of the stone head of the Medusa.
  • All Myths Are True: This is indeed the case in this world. This becomes even more clear after the Mythic Incursion.
  • Alternate Continuity: The world of The Cultist combines elements of Cultist Simulator, Hazbin Hotel, Justice League, Young Justice (2010), and general lore from DC Comics.
  • Ambadassador: Solomon becomes this after he sets up the Court of All Knowledge, acting as an arbitrator between the courts.
  • Anomalous Art: Solomon can make these. His best work is a set of 8 paintings that allow him to get information from the 8 colors of magic through dreaming in the room he keeps them. It is later surpassed by a painting he made of the Earth in the middle of the Mythic Incursion.
    • Solomon made a painting of Raven that the young woman can use to protect herself from curses.
    • He also makes one for Zatanna, upon her request.
    • Solomon makes one of himself for protection.
    • He later makes one that has both Charlie and Zatanna, the two dressed in chains and the latter disguised in a latex outfit. It can be used to trap female targets.
    • After capturing Circe, Solomon is given the opportunity to make a portrait of Artemis. It can be used to invoke her power.
    • Solomon makes one of Circe as a songbird as a precautionary measure.
    • Solomon makes a portrait of what Ai, his AI pseudo-daughter, may look like in the future.
  • Anti-Anti-Christ: Charlie is the sole child of Lucifer and Lilith and had the strength to be their successor. Instead, she worked to redeem demons, and eventually succeeded. This act made it possible for her to ascend and become both an angel and the Princess of Heaven; she didn't because she likes staying the way she is.
  • Apocalypse Cult: The Church of Blood is explicitly called this by the Justice League, who have faced various kinds of cults before. The Church of Blood specifically worships Trigon, a demon that abhors life.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Kid Flash doesn't believe in magic, and he is not alone in this. Even after the Mythic Incursion, there are still people who don't believe in magic.
  • Art Initiates Life: After his paintbrush gets an upgrade, Solomon can now do this, though they usually act cartoon-like.
  • Artificial Family Member: After Solomon commissions an AI, Charlie decides that she is its mother.
  • Artificial Intelligence: A.I.s are becoming so common that the courts are fighting over who will have them. Solomon eventually takes authority over them, and even has one made.
  • Ascended Demon: The reason demons don't like Charlie is because she succeeded in redeeming a demon. Charlie herself could have ascended and become the Princess of Heaven. She refused because she was happy as she was.
  • Attack Its Weak Point: Solomon temporarily takes care of Klarion by getting his familiar killed.
  • Badass Teacher: Solomon is a headmaster and a consultant of the Justice League.
  • Bandage Mummy: Solomon ends up like this after his Ascension and needs some time to recuperate.
  • Barrier Maiden: After his Ascension, Solomon becomes this. So long as he lives, the courts of magic cannot war between themselves, and cannot casually enter into the mundane world without his or a champion's say so.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Charlie may be a peppy Nice Girl, but she is also explicitly the strongest demon in Hell.
  • Big Good: The Justice League is this.
  • Birdcaged: Circe is put in a birdcage after Solomon turns her into a songbird.
  • Black Magician Girl: As the teenaged daughter of a magician like Zatara, and considering she learned magic from him and is learning more at the Stepford College, Zatanna is this. She plays it up by dressing up in an enchanted stagehand costume.
  • Blood Magic: This kind of magic is a corruption of blood sacrifices, which was originally just about sacrificing animals. Blood Magic on the other hand, used humans more often than not, which earned it a bad reputation.
  • Blush Sticker: Charlie always has rosy cheeks.
  • Bound and Gagged: Charlie is into being tied up and gagged. After being introduced to it, Zatanna finds that she likes it as well.
  • Boxed Crook: The Suicide Squad is a team of criminals that are being forced to work for the government. Originally, they were going to have Explosive Leashes to keep them in line. Thanks to Solomon however, they are instead kept in line using contracts enforced with Gold magic.
  • Break the Haughty: Poison Ivy believes she is the champion of the plants and is their savior from humanity. Solomon and Charlie disabuse of her that notion by demonstrating that his command over plants far surpasses hers.
  • Casanova Wannabe: From what's been shown of Kid Flash flirting with Supergirl and Charlie, he is definitely this.
  • Casual Kink: Charlie is into BDSM and sexy roleplay. Zatanna later learns she is also into BDSM when Charlie introduces her to it. She is also into being Solomon and Charlie's sex pet.
  • The Champion: The courts can each assign one. The Champions arbitrate disputes and essentially handle things that would require human direction.
    • The Court of Leaves currently has Swamp Thing.
    • The Court of Movement has chosen the Flash to be their champion.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Charlie isn't fine with sharing Solomon. However, she is fine with having pets.
Charlie: (to Solomon about Raven's crush) Oh it’s fine. She’ll grow out if it if you don’t encourage it. Don’t encourage it by the way, unless you want your house burned down.
  • Color-Coded Wizardry: Magic can be broadly divided between 8 colors.
    • Red: Consists of the animal kingdom, pure instincts, and passion. Through the Fanged Gate, you can contact the Parliament of Limbs.
    • Purple: Consists of madness, change, and deception. Through the Sideways Door, you can contact the Dancing Parliament.
    • Blue: Consists of energy and motion, the sea, and the sky. Through the Gate of Instants, you can contact the Parliament of Movement.
    • Green: Consists of the plant kingdom, poisons and medicines, and subversion. Through the White Root Gate, you can contact the Parliament of Leaves.
    • Gold: Consists of order, the forge, and the sun. Through the Two Faced Gate, you can contact the Parliament of Laws.
    • Cyan: Consists of stillness, death, and the cold. Through the Cold Iron Gate, you can contact the Parliament of Mirrors.
    • White: Consists of unity, creation, and ascension. Through the White Gate, you can contact the Parliament of Angels.
    • Black: Consists of breaking, emptiness, and non-existence. In the Pit of Nothingness, you can enter Hell.
  • The Corrupter: Downplayed, but Charlie is the one who gets Zatanna to be her and Solomon's sex pet.
  • Creepy Good: Solomon is aligned with the Justice League and fights villains. However, he also helped found a few cults and regularly interacts with demons, Eldritch Abominations, and other horrifying or incredibly powerful beings. There is also his strange mannerisms as a result of perceiving the world as a comic book and his occasionally disturbing usage of magic.
  • Cult:
    • Solomon creates a few to build up his power base.
      • The Infinite Progression: A Gold cult made up of Solomon's subordinates. It has a specialty in law.
      • White Autumn Harvest: A group of assassins that Solomon subordinated and turned into a Cyan cult. They now act as Solomon's assassins and help cover up anything that Solomon needs hidden.
      • Hermetic Order of the Sea and Sky: A Blue cult made up of Solomon's subordinates with Abra Kadabra as its leader. They use techno-magic and research the creation of new weapons, spells, and rituals.
      • Midnight Hunt: A Red cult made up of Solomon's subordinates. They can act as hunters or distractions for Solomon.
      • The New Green: A Green cult made up of Solomon's subordinates. They specialize in infiltration and seduction.
      • Wonderful Historical Intellectual Preparation Society: A Black cult made up of Solomon's subordinates. They specialize in summoning demons and breaking contracts.
      • Seekers of the True Self: A White cult made up of Solomon's subordinates. They can heal others or change what color that person are aligned with.
      • The Hidden Muse: A Purple cult made up of Solomon's subordinates. They can attract or delay people using parties or provide inspiration via drugs.
      • The Responders: A Heroic cult made up of Solomon's subordinates with Zatanna as its leader. They do two things: act as a fan club that tracks and notes heroes, and be a study group where people can learn to work in Heroic fields such as first responders, police, and even superheroes themselves.
      • The Instigators: A Villainous cult made up of Solomon's subordinates. They act as a gaming club when they are really planning villainous acts that Solomon can send them to do.
    • The League also mentions having to face various cults in the past.
Flash: (about the Church of Blood) So yeah. They’re another apocalypse cult. One of the nastier ones too. The human sacrifice and end of the world type.
Zatara: I must admit I feel out of the loop. Is this an official term?
Superman: No, but it’s a tendency you tend to notice. Like robbers and banks. People seem to delight in corrupting religion to some end.
Batman: Apocalypse cult, death cult, cult of personality. Those typical patterns.
  • Cut Lex Luthor a Check: Since Abra commits crimes in order to get the funds to learn magic, Solomon gets him to cut out the middle man by offering to teach him magic instead.
  • Daddy's Girl: Charlie seems to be this, even asking for the first portrait that Solomon made of her to give to her daddy as a present so that he can hang it in his bar. She does it because he's been sulking in the bar and she wants to cheer him up.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Although Black magic is usually associated with Hell and demons, it is not necessarily evil. Solomon has to specifically teach Raven this, as her teachers in Azarath believed otherwise.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Raven almost always has a cutting remark to say.
  • Deity of Human Origin: Becoming this is Solomon's goal. He eventually succeeds.
  • Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: Richard Roads, one of Solomon's first followers, was like this before meeting Solomon.
  • Did You Just Romance Cthulhu?: Solomon is dating Charlie, a demon and the daughter of Lucifer.
    • It is also possible to marry and have a child with The Lady In Gold. One must simply file the proper paperwork and follow procedure.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Wotan wasn't expecting Solomon to just punch him in the face really hard when they were having a magic duel.
Wotan is a canny fighter. He thinks you’re using some sort of close range attack. He stops whatever he’s doing and instead forms a shield in between you. You pop the spell with a raw blast of chaotic energy. It’s a poor move normally. It makes it hard to use magic for a brief second on your end. It’s fast though, and it lets you get in close. Your opponent’s look of surprise as your fist impacts his face is picturesque.
  • Dissonant Serenity: Solomon describes the look on Superman's face while pummeling a demon as serene but terrifying.
  • Dominatrix: Charlie has used Zatanna as a chair while the latter is in a latex suit. This only applies when it's only the two of them, as Charlie is happy to be the bottom when Solomon is participating.
  • Dream Weaver: Solomon uses dreams to get more knowledge of magic.
  • Eaten Alive: As part of getting rid of Poison Ivy's attitude and arrogance, Solomon uses one of her own mutated Venus flytraps via his magic and commands it to start eating her. It only gets half of her in its mouth before Solomon commands it to stop, but it has the desired effect.
    • While this is happening, Charlie comments that she believes Poison Ivy has done this to others, with Solomon using his magic to confirm that that is the case.
  • Enemy Without: Solomon's final challenge for the sidekicks is putting them in a Mental World wherein they must fight these.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: Solomon is amused when he realizes Luthor thinks the latter has some hold over the former. Solomon decides to let Luthor keep thinking this, as it makes it easier to manipulate the latter.
  • Experimented in College: One of the things Zatanna learned from attending Stepford College is that she likes guys and girls.
Coming to college had been awesome in a lot of ways. I'd gotten to meet a lot of people, learned a lot of magic, and even had more than a little bit of fun. It'd also taught me that I kinda, sorta, liked girls and boys. Well, some girls and boys. Charlie and her boyfriend had made me think some rather naughty thoughts that my father would not have approved of at all.
  • Extranormal Institute: Solomon opens one in Stepford and houses his various students and cults there. It becomes public knowledge, or at least more commonly known, after the Mythic Incursion.
  • Extreme Libido: A lot of creatures from the Red have this, which is fitting, as procreation is one of the base instincts of all sentient creatures.
  • Fantastic Flora: Solomon has giant trees grown on campus, each having different a purpose.
    • A giant Firebloom tree that provides free energy.
    • A giant Ironwood tree that grants increased durability.
    • A giant Peach tree that was turned into a spa.
    • A giant Black Poppy tree whose seeds can be used to create a material that is resistant to magic.
    • A giant Bloodvine tree that can be used to create restraints that drain life.
  • The Fettered: The people of Azarath are like this, having literally cast out their negative emotions. However, this had the side effect of creating Trigon. Raven, having been taught by them, is also like this. As such, despite being trained in how to fight with her magic, she prefers to hang back if it isn't absolutely necessary.
  • The Fool: The Flash seems to be this in the Justice League, acting as the most immature and excitable member.
  • Forced Transformation: A skilled and powerful practitioner of Red magic, such as Circe, can effortlessly incapacitate anyone unprepared for their magic by transforming their targets into animals. Ironically, this is how Solomon subdues Circe herself, turning her into a bird and keeping her in a cage after making sure that she wouldn't be able to undo the transformation on her own.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Solomon goes from a homeless minor magician with only the clothes on his back and a magic paintbrush to a linchpin of the planet by becoming the Headmaster of the newly formed Court of All Knowledge, allowing him to act as an intermediary between all of the courts and the mortal world.
  • Genki Girl: Charlie is always peppy and full of life.
  • Genre Savvy: Solomon is this most of the time.
  • Glass Slipper: Solomon gets a pair specially made for Charlie, in homage to Cinderella.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Downplayed. Zatara is a little jealous after seeing how much more knowledgeable and skilled Solomon is.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Downplayed. Charlie is a Nice Girl, but she is still a demon; her sinning is just less violent. She is also not going to hesitate when insulting or swearing at someone she really doesn't like.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Raven has a human mother and a demon father.
  • Higher Understanding Through Drugs: Purple magic deals in this, though the drugs aren't necessary in providing inspiration.
  • Hot Librarian: After the representative of the Red (a rabbit) finished her meeting with the Flash, she turned into this so that they can seal the deal.
  • Hot Teacher: Charlie dresses up as one when she teaches some of Solomon's cultists.
  • Human Traffickers: The League of Shadows deals in this. The people are offered to the Green, who in turn support the Shadows.
  • Humongous Mecha: The Hermetic Order of the Sea and Sky created a Gundam to defend Stepford if needed. It ends up self-destructing in a fight with a cyclops.
  • I Know You Know I Know: Upon meeting Bruce Wayne for the first time, Solomon realizes that the former is aware that the magician knows his Secret Identity.
  • Idiot Ball: A lot of the people who have been working in Project Cadmus have been holding this.
    • They originally got Martian tech, which they tried to use to cure illnesses. But all they could do with it was clone people. The person who discovered this believed himself a god.
“Project Cadmus first began when we got a hold of some Martian biotech. We brought our greatest minds together to investigate it, and advance the US interests. There were wild ideas about nano-tech, curing cancer, and fixing thousands of genetic defects. Unfortunately it was all a dead end. We were trying to figure out computers when our best tools were rocks.” Waller explains as you both walk down the hallways. “Our sole breakthrough was with a genetic scientist that managed to figure out how to clone material. Then he decided he had become a god.” The woman’s face is sour and she mimes a handgun. “He had a short divinity.”
    • The second thing they tried was cloning Superman and other metahumans and aliens. It worked, but it was found that the mental codes used to control the clones were being given to people who weren't authorized to have them.
“It was going to be repurposed to attempt to clone Superman next.” The woman snorts. “It would have been a good idea if we hadn’t found some alternative loyalties in a few of the scientists. There were plans for mental codes, and several people approved to know them didn’t work for us.”
    • The last failure Project Cadmus had before it was handed over to Solomon was an attempt to clone demons.
Waller: Yeah. Track record, zero out of three. So at this point I’m essentially calling in outside help and offering you a side job. Take control of this facility. Keep the madmen on track, and you can basically direct it. So long as you get some sort of profit out of this, then it will probably last for decades. I’ll settle for something that doesn’t involve fire and brimstone at this point.
  • In the Hood: Raven has a hood that she sometimes hides in.
  • Iron Lady: Amanda Waller is this hands down.
  • Irony: Circe, the witch famous for turning other people into animals, is defeated by Solomon doing the same to her.
  • Jack of All Trades: Solomon is capable of accessing all 8 colors to a high degree, unlike most other people. He also doesn't favor any one of them.
  • Joke and Receive: Flash's response to hearing that Solomon's school may now teach magic is to ask if Solomon made Hogwarts.
Flash: Wait, wait, he made Hogwarts?
[Zatara starts to object but stops before saying a word]
Flash: He did! I’m so sending Mini-me there.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Zatara believes a good magician should know his limits.
  • Language of Magic: Zatara and Zatanna's magic requires them to speak backwards.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Circe somehow makes it so that if she were ever captured, she would be doused in the Lethe, erasing almost all of her memories.
  • Leotard of Power: Raven wears one. She was apparently unaware of how revealing and alluring it could look until Solomon painted a picture of her. Zatanna likes to draw attention to this fact when given the opportunity, to Raven's embarrassment.
Zatanna: (about always wearing her costume) Though I also considered removing the top, stocking, bowtie and hat - to go in just a leotard. Though that seemed a tad too risque to me.
Raven: (defensively) It is not that bad.
  • Let No Crisis Go to Waste: Solomon takes control of a ritual set up by Klarion and uses it to create an artifact that he could use in the future. Discussed by Solomon and Zatara.
Solomon: [showing the Magic Eight Ball he is holding] It is the aftereffects of the ritual. It seemed a waste to have it all turn into fire and lightning.
    Zatara: The ritual killed people.
Solomon: Fortunately the result wasn’t tainted from that then. This should allow me to stop it from happening again.
  • Little Bit Beastly: The Red has animals that can become this, and are still as eager to procreate as before. Practioners of Red magic can also turn into this when not turning completely into animals.
  • Living Shadow: After his Ascension, Solomon gained the ability to animate his shadow and have it act as his intermediary. He can share his senses with it and have it take on the appearance of anyone he wants.
  • Lovely Assistant: After Solomon jokingly calls her, Raven, and M'gann this, Zatanna takes to referring to herself this way as often as possible, as well as always wearing her stagehand costume.
  • MacGyvering: Solomon's magic is apparently like this, at least according to Charlie.
  • Mad Artist: Solomon is this. Some of his paintings can be disturbing to look at, even if they aren't magic. Others are powerful magic items that other magicians consider impressive.
  • Mad Scientist: Mad scientists actually get some help from the Purple, as it gives both madness and inspiration. Other than that, they are handled by the Blue, which helps them in actually creating whatever they think up.
    • Solomon's Blue cult is basically made up of these.
    • Cadmus is also full of them, with Solomon being given charge of the project in order to keep them under control.
  • The Magic Comes Back: Invoked. Circe and Klarion set off a ritual that causes all myths and religions to become real or come back in every part of the world at the same time. It causes chaos across the globe as gods and monsters fight and destroy whatever they want or is in the way. It becomes known as the Mythic Incursion.
  • Magic Contract Romance: Zatanna has one with Solomon and Charlie, agreeing to act as their Personal Assistant/Sex Pet. It also provides other benefits.
  • Magically-Binding Contract: Gold magic deals in this. As such, they are also the ones who best know how to exploit them. Black magic on the other hand, is good at breaking contracts.
  • Magitek: This is handled by the Blue.
  • Man-Eating Plant: Solomon uses one that was raised by Poison Ivy to demonstrate how much more powerful he is, by feeding her to it. He only lets half of her in the plant before she understands. He also creates one to use against Trigon.
  • Meaningful Name: The MC takes the name Solomon as he can't use his old name. This becomes fitting after he becomes the Headmaster of the new Court of All Knowledge, making him the arbitrator of the eight courts plus two new ones (heroism and villainy), as well as between the magic world and the mundane one.
  • Mech vs. Beast: When Klarion learns that Solomon has a giant robot to protect Stepford from the giant monster he sent, he is ecstatic and decides to send more.
  • Mother of a Thousand Young: When Solomon proposes to Charlie, she declares that she wants to have at least a hundred children.
  • Mundane Utility: Gold magic can be used to speed up paperwork.
  • My Card: Charlie gives Solomon her number after they meet.
  • My Rule Fu Is Stronger than Yours: Solomon uses this in a fight with Klarion, in which the Witch Boy attacks a city with the rules of the game Pool.
  • Never My Fault: The worst of the sinners in Hell are those who won't admit that they are sinners and are to blame for where they are.
  • Nice Girl: Charlie is easily one of the nicest characters in the story, which is ironic as she is a demon. It was to the point that Heaven itself welcomed her. The only reason she isn't there is because she chose not to.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Circe and Klarion's scheme to reawaken and restore all myths and legends gave Solomon an opportunity to Ascend, making him more powerful than ever before.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Charlie's bindings make it impossible to ever harm her.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: After helping a demon on the path of redemption to enter Heaven, Charlie ends up having to leave Hell, because this angered all the demons there. This is zigzagged, as Charlie likes it on Earth and Heaven was pleased by what she did, to the point of granting her wish of making sure she doesn't accidentally become an angel and enter Heaven.
  • Noodle Incident: Charlie did something that caused Raven to not go into the Goth scene. Solomon doesn't want to know what that was.
Charlie: Oh, but it’s funny! Plus I have Lincoln Park memorized now!
  • Not So Above It All: Artemis isn't above referencing Sailor Moon.
She winks and her hair changes into a rather familiar blonde hairstyle. You can’t help but continue staring. Of all the things you thought you were going to hear, this was not one of them.
“Ya see, moon, and moon ya know! It makes things so much fun!” Artemis claps her hands together as grins. You note she said that in perfect Japanese too.
You rub at your forehead. She’s screwing with you. She has to be.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: As the main character seems to have lost his original name, he just goes by Solomon.
  • Original Character: lost star creates an original Lord of Order: Hadriana, The Lady In Gold.
  • Our Demons Are Different: Charlie is a demon, but an unusual one. She loves to sing and dance, is usually polite, and is a Nice Girl overall.
  • Passive-Aggressive Kombat: When Richard invites a few young women in order to find candidates for who can learn magic, Solomon notes that they were being very passive-aggressive with one another.
If one had ever entertained the belief that women would peacefully control the world, they would find that particular belief shattered by the amount of petty sniping a group of women could do. You were reminded of one particular statement you’d heard once or twice. Men hit each other when they fought. Women got mean and vindictive.
    • This also happens when the Lady in Gold meets Wonder Woman.
You had never expected to see so much passive aggressive formality in your life, and it had lengthened what should have been a quick greeting into nearly an hour's worth of greeting and counter greetings.
  • Place of Power: There are several places like this, where rituals or spells can be done or even enhanced. Solomon created one he calls the Eight Walled Room, which contains his paintings of the 8 colors.
    • Stepford College becomes this for Solomon, giving him a limited form of immortality so long as the school exists.
  • Plucky Girl: Charlie is easily this. She does what she wants, is always happy-go-lucky, and almost always has a smile on her face.
    • This is more evident in her backstory as someone who tried to redeem demons. Everyone laughed at her, and she even doubted it was possible herself. But she didn't give up and eventually succeeded.
  • Pom-Pom Girl: Charlie uses pom-poms to cheer on Raven, Zatanna, and M'gann while the three are helping Solomon prepare the reagents to create his own court.
  • Power Limiter: Charlie has bindings that prevent her from unleashing her full might in battle. Solomon creates a spell to temporarily allow Charlie to ignore the bindings.
  • Power Perversion Potential: Magic can be used for this in several ways. The ones who do so onscreen the most are Solomon and Charlie.
  • The Prophecy: There is one about Raven bringing about Trigon and the latter bringing destruction. Solomon and Charlie are able to determine that the only thing that is guaranteed is Raven summoning her father. Everything else is incidental. They plan to use that to their advantage and help Raven defeat her father.
  • Pseudo-Romantic Friendship: Zatanna and Raven seem to have this, with the two acting very close and Zatanna in particular flirting with Raven.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: Solomon describes Klarion as this.
  • Pull a Rabbit out of My Hat: Zatanna does this when summoning a representative of the Red for their meeting with the Justice League.
  • Pure Is Not Good: Trigon came to be due to the people of Azarath casting away all of their negative emotions. These emotions ended up becoming Trigon, a being of pure evil.
  • Rags to Riches: Solomon starts out with no home or money. After getting some magic and followers, he ends up with control over an entire town, millions of dollars that he can use for whatever he needs, and contacts with very powerful people, from the US government, to supervillains, to the Justice League itself.
  • Recruiting the Criminal: Solomon is willing to hire supervillains so that they won't become enemies. So far, he has recruited Abra Kadabra, Poison Ivy, Mr Freeze, the Cheetah, and Clock King.
  • The Red Mage: Zatara has admitted that he isn't the strongest or most knowledgeable practitioner. What he is however, is skilled and versatile, allowing him to best those who can overpower him.
  • Redemption Rejection: Played with. Charlie could have entered Heaven and become an angel because of her act in redeeming a demon and helping others in their own redemption. However, she refused, as she was fine the way she was. As such, she has a restriction on her placed by Heaven itself to prevent her from accidentally entering Heaven and ascending into an angel.
  • Reformed, but Not Tamed: Pamela Isley, thanks to Solomon and Charlie, is now rehabilitated. She now works with nurseries for both humans and plants. However, her villainous side still shows itself, thankfully only when it comes to child abuse.
  • Rules Lawyer: Gold has this the most among the colors.
  • The Scapegoat: Solomon is offered control over Project Cadmus by Amanda Waller, partially so that if something goes wrong, he'll be the one to take the blame.
  • Secret Relationship: Zatanna being Charlie and Solomon's sex pet is a secret the three keep.
  • Sex Magic: Red and Purple magic use this. Red is more about the instinctive need to procreate, while Purple is more about the delirium the intimate act can bring.
  • Shaking the Rump: Zatanna does this in addition to always wearing her stagehand costume to entice Solomon and Charlie.
  • Sore Loser: Klarion will do what he can to spite his enemies when he loses.
  • Squishy Wizard: Averted. Solomon eventually gets enough physical strength to at least contend with Superman, meaning that even if he couldn't use his magic, he is not at all helpless.
  • Stage Magician: Zatara, in addition to being an actual magician, also works as a stage magician. He has taught both to his daughter Zatanna. Both also dress up as traditional stage magicians, much to Zatara's chagrin when it comes to his daughter.
  • Stocking Filler: Zatanna's costume includes fishnets.
  • Switching P.O.V.: Occasionally, we get to see the POV of characters other than Solomon.
  • Taking the Bullet: G.G. takes an attack from Wotan for Solomon.
  • The Talk: Charlie thinks she should give Raven this as she is acting as the half demon's big sister. Unfortunately for Raven, it is very detailed. This is because Charlie gave Raven the same speech she got from her own mother, Lilith, a demon the Lady in Gold describes as "someone who could be considered the icon of lust and sin" and "the creature that has literally performed every depraved act in the world, and then invented her own".
  • Tall Poppy Syndrome: This is the reason demons don't like Charlie. She successfully redeemed one demon, allowing said demon to walk out of Hell. All the demons, in contrast, want to drag others down with them to Hell.
  • The Tease: Miss Martian becomes an oblivious version of this after getting some training from Solomon.
What she is suited for is human interaction. It’s something that your average person wouldn’t quite realize. She’s a martian. Martians have very different standards of interaction. A lot of it’s in the psionic realm. Miss Martian is decidedly strange there. Her attraction to humans is just the tip of her, well aberration is a harsh word. To put it into human terms, she’s attracted to people who can’t hear or talk and look like furries. That’s not quite the best description of it but it’s the closest you can get.
Purple actually likes that quite a bit. She’s an alien that fits in better with other aliens. Therefore she can sort of slide into social situations with a bit of exotic charm and innocence. The naive foreigner. Once you’ve taught her that sort of interaction she’s basically someone that can fit in everywhere.
You actually might have sort of taught her a bit too well to be honest. She’s already ensnared a good half dozen men in her charms and doesn’t quite register how much control she has over them. It’s not really a problem so much as something you need to be aware of. Right now it’s equivalent to a fan club really.
  • Through the Eyes of Madness: Solomon views the world as if he is both in it and reading it in a comic book. This sometimes gives him an advantage by allowing him to see whatever it is that the universe deems as important. However, this is still rather disorienting, and causes people who interact with him to think that he has a look of someone staring into nothing.
    • This is no longer the case after he meets Death of the Endless, though he can regain his madness if he so wished.
  • To Hell with This Infernal Job: Lucifer and the First of the Fallen have both abdicated the throne of Hell.
  • Toon Physics: Solomon's living paintings act like this.
  • Underestimating Badassery: The sidekicks, except for Aqualad, failed their challenges because they didn't take it seriously. Among the sidekicks, Kid Flash and Supergirl in particular thought that they could take on any challenge Solomon threw at them. They were wrong.
  • Undying Loyalty: Most of Solomon's cultists have this for him.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Solomon has no idea how to fight hand to hand. Thanks to having Superman level strength however, he doesn't really need to.
  • What If?: Solomon is able to see things that could have happened, like meeting the Joker in Arkham Asylum.
    • He later literally dreams another possibility in order to trade information with his alternate self.
  • Where the Hell Is Springfield?: Stepford is in a vague spot in central US.
  • World Tree: Yggdrasil was one of the many things that appeared in the Mythic Incursion. Solomon was able to paint part of it when painting the world.
  • Wowing Cthulhu: In addition to dating Solomon, Charlie finds Solomon and his magic fascinating, calling him "the Macgyver of magic".
    • Solomon has also drawn the attention of Destruction, Death, Delirium, and Destiny of the Endless.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: Solomon makes it so that whenever a court is claiming a soul, any other court that is aware of it can send a representative to contest the claim. The representatives of the courts will then fight over which court gets to keep the soul.
