The Dark Avenger is a Marvel Cinematic Universe/Batman crossover by Luke5921.

In a world where aliens and men in iron suits battle one another for the fate of whole societies, one man, with his wits and wealth, was already terrorizing those who sought to terrorize the innocent. But even when new threats haunt the world, he will not back down.

The Dark Avenger provides examples of:

  • Boom, Headshot!: At least how Martha Wayne died; from Peggy's description, pieces of her brain were in Bruce's hair when they were found.
  • Composite Character: The Ten Rings are now a mix of the organisation in the film and the League of Assassins, with Wenwu all-but-explicitly referring to Ra's al Ghul as his old teacher.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Bruce Wayne, as always; from Peggy's description, he was alone with his parents' bodies for some time after they were shot. Later on, as in canon, he lost Jason Todd, and it would appear that Tim Drake was left traumatised after a particular scheme by the Joker.
  • The Dreaded: Batman is notable for striking fear and terror into the hearts of Gotham’s criminals. Even Nick Fury starts panicking when he learns that Clint and Natasha have ended up in Gotham and are in Batman’s crosshairs.
  • Everyone Went to School Together: Steve actually introduced Thomas and Martha Wayne before he was lost, and Thomas's financial support helped build Stark Enterprises into its current state. Bruce also trained under Ra's al Ghul alongside Wenwu at some point.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Basically Nyssa's motives for manipulating Tony Stark into going after her father; she intends to see how he will cope against her father, and if he wins she intends to take Tony's technology for herself.
  • Mook Horror Show: Both the smugglers and Natasha and Clint end up having to battle Batman, and his rapid motions and ability to vanish make him come across as a haunting spirit rather than a mere vigilante.
  • Oh, Crap!: Nick Fury becomes terrified when he hears that Clint and Natasha are operating in Gotham, of all places.
  • Old Soldier: Bruce Wayne is clearly an old warrior if he was working with SHIELD when Peggy Carter was in charge, but he's still dangerous enough to take on and defeat Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff in a fight. However, Wenwu notes that the Dark Knight's actions are essentially overcompensating for his age, as he observes that in the past Bruce would have been able to sneak into his compound without detection and now he deliberately takes out Wenwu's forces as a show of strength.
  • Wretched Hive: The gun smuggler at the opening of the story muses on Gotham’s reputation in the criminal underworld as a cesspit of crime until Batman begins cracking down on the thugs terrorizing the city.
  • Worthy Opponent: Despite not liking Batman for attacking her and Clint, Natasha can’t help but be impressed by his stealth and skill.
