Danny Phantom: A Trip to Tomobiki (Of Ghosts and Aliens) is a crossover fanfiction between Danny Phantom and Urusei Yatsura by LockAndKey989. Here

This story takes place just before Phantom Planet and during the final arc of the Urusei Yatsura manga.

A side story/sequel was released called "The Trial of Ran's Mother" here

Though it is mainly a Danny Phantom and Urusei Yatsura crossover, this story also crosses over with Sailor Moon and it includes references and cameos of other anime and manga such as Ranma ½, Rosario + Vampire and Squid Girl.

The author has also released another sequel that crosses over with Rosario + Vampire called Phantom and a Vampire that takes place a year and a half after “The Trial of Rans Mother”, and a few months after the Rosario Vampire II epilogue.

Danny (now 16) and Tsukune host an exhibition match to raise funds to support the laters campaign to bring humans and Yōkai together. However, Fairy Tale, the Guys in White and others plan to use this fight to eliminate both.

The whole world, human, alien and monster/yokai tune in to watch the fight of the millennium. Two monsters, born human, fight in a one-night event. Ghost vs Vampire. Halfa vs Shinso. Two heroes. Danny Phantom vs Tsukune Aono.

    A Trip To Tomobiki
  • Aborted Arc: Due to changes in Ataru and Lum relationship the Destiny production Bureau lament that they can't go through with the movie ”Always My Darling” since the plot involved Ataru being bribed with a kiss by an alien princess. They say that now they will just have to have princess Lupica and Rio confess their feelings like normal people. Danny is also allowed to prevent the events of Phantom Planet. In the sequel Ataru meets and has a conversation with Rio who tells him that he and Lupica are engaged, saying that Lupica at one point considered getting the love potion but decided against it.
    • Status Quo also reveals that they prevented Vlad from keeping his deals with the Fright Knight as an example of how much power he has over their reality.
  • Abusive Parents: Mr. Fujinami towards Ryuunosuke, like in canon. The Fentons are horrified and disgusted when they see his physical and mental abuse towards his "son"/daughter. In the sequel Ryuunosuke meets her mother, but she goes to live with Benten instead because she discovers her mom is similarly as controlling as her father was.
    • The Fentons are horrified when they find out Ataru's mother openly says she wishes she never had him frequently. Jazz deduces this is part of the reason behind Ataru’s issues.
    • Like in cannon, Ran's mother used to spank her for any naughty thing (she thought) Ran did. Thanks to Jazz, she realizes that her mother was abusive rather than just strict like she always thought since she verbally abused her as well, hit her while harshly comparing her to other kids, and makes her realize that a good parent wouldn't have just assumed that she was too blame whenever something bad happened (not always because Lum was there) rather than just assuming Ran was at fault and punishing her.
      • In the sequel it turns out that Ran’s grandmother wasn’t exactly a saint to her mother either.
    • Jazz uses another student she helped council who had a parent who expected him to be perfect and considered him a failure for the tiniest mistakes as an example of how some parents only see the faults in their kids.
  • Abhorrent Admirer:
    • Nagisa to Ryuunosuke. They are engaged by their fathers and he likes her but she can't stand him because he actually enjoys being a "girl" while she resents being forced to act like a boy.
    • Ataru to every other girl besides Lum for his perverted antics, his creepy way of asking for information, and his “plain” appearance.
    • Zig-Zagged with Lum towards Ataru, Ataru admits he does like her he just doesn’t like her insisting they be married. He really does care for her deep down.
  • Achilles in His Tent: Clockwork tells Danny that Exodus, his long lost brother, couldn't have beaten Dan Phantom in the averted timeline because he was busy helping the rest of the ghost zone and fighting other threats at the time. They also made sure that the Sailor Guardians and Tsukune Aono were trapped in Japan as well.
  • Adapted Out: Zig-Zagged. The rabbits mention that Ittou Asanuma, a friend of Mamoru and a love interest of Sailor Jupiter in the manga, doesnt know Lita in this universe, hence why they are willing to have her meet Danny. However, he also doesnt appear in the 90's anime.
  • Adaptational Origin Connection: Nagisa tells Ryuunosuke that he and his father woke up in the Ghost Zone after their deaths before coming back to Earth since it is the place where ghosts form.
  • Adaptational Badass: Justified in that it's really the Fate Bureau's doing, but they give Lum the idea to harness ectoranium and the power of the planet Nemesis to make sure that Danny Phantom and the Sailor Guardians cannot interfere in her "game with Darling".
    • In the original manga and anime all the amnesia device could do was dodge attacks, fly, shoot fire and swing its bat, it even had an off-switch at the bottom. Here the rabbits give Lum the idea to add modifications such as a repulsion field, extra arms with weapons specific to Danny and the Sailor Scouts, ectoranium blaster eye-beams and she removed the off-switch.
    • The Sailor Guardians can unlock the ability to fly by touching the broaches (or Tuxedo Mask's cane). This wasn't something that they could do in the 90's anime but they could fly in the Manga and Crystal series. It's a new ability that Luna and Artemis teach them specifically so they can fight the amnesia device with Danny in the air.
  • All for Nothing: Played for Laughs. Jazz spends hours learning Japanese only for her parents to have a brought translating device which makes it unnecessary.
  • Allegorical Character: Destiny Production Management Bureau decides the fates of every living being in the universe, and Status Quo, the godlike being that influences the story's conflict, represents executive meddling in cartoons and shows. Status Quo explains that "he is the embodiment of the desires of the beings beyond the fourth dimension," and Destiny Production Management Bureau is like the producers of a television show. Status Quo and Destiny Production Management Bureau would mostly watch events to play out naturally, but sometimes, when they see potential, they ensure that certain events happen to make the world they observe more exciting for entertainment purposes. They would also cut out planned events like Vlad Plasmius's deal with the Fright Knight. They also change events to keep the status quo and prevent characters from getting character development to increase the length of the show, like the time Danny Phantom's parents discovered his identity, and despite accepting him, he, for some reason, erased his parent's memory.
  • All Men Are Perverts:
    • All men in Tomobiki, just like in the series. With Ataru Moroboshi being the most obviously lecherous.
      • One of his dreams has a harem consisting of Lum and every other pretty girl he knows.
    • Danny is convinced to go to Japan with his family by his father suggesting that they might meet the Sailor Guardians while they are there (Danny is attracted to the girls in miniskirts, especially Sailor Jupiter).
    • When he sees a picture of Lum, Danny announces that she is even hotter than Paulina. Tucker downloads her image.
  • Alternate Universe: In the Omake of "A Break and a Date Part 1", Danny snaps a cherry tree branch that sends shim to alternate dimensions (like how Lum was sent to alternate dimensions in Urusei Yatsura Episode 107). The two that he visits are one where Sam has ghost powers and one where he’s the villain while Vlad is the hero, both of which were concepts created by Butch Hartman himself.
    • Using the fourth-dimensional camera, Ryoko sends the Sailor Guardians, Jazz, and Sakura to different realities. Most of them are realities that Ataru was sent to in the episode of the origin of the camera. However…
      • Sailor Mercury meets (and develops a crush on) Ben Tennyson (Alien Force).
      • Sailor Mars goes to the Americanized Sailor Moon universe.
      • Sailor Jupiter goes to the Star vs the Forces of Evil universe and convinces Danny to help avert the shows series' controversial finale and befriends Star Butterfly.
    • In the sequel, it reveals that several other anime’s exist in alternate universes parallel to Danny’s, which the Destiny Production Bureau also monitors. While in the Destiny Forge Danny, Sam and Tucker see:
      • A world where humans are endangered and anthropomorphic animals rule the world (Seton Academy: Join the Pack).
      • A world where Mars is populated by evolved humanoid cockroaches that hate humanity (Terra-Formars).
      • A world where nearly everyone has a superpower or “Quirk” (My Hero Academia).
      • A world where earth is a supercontinent and one hero has become so strong he’s bored (One Punch Man).
      • Danny also sees a world where a country is about to be trampled by legions of 50-Meter skinless giants led by a even bigger skeletal monster called the “Attack Titan” (Attack on Titan, Season 4 episode 28).
      • Inaba also mentions a fantasy world where he helped a guy named Rein out by convincing his unappreciative teammates to fire him which resulted in a better life for him (Beast Tamer).
  • Anachronism Stew: Modern technology is present in Tomobiki and is used by the Sailor Guardians despite both series taking place in the 80’2-90’s. Justified since they are part of the Danny Phantom universe here which takes place in the early 2000s. Danny also has an iPhone, which didn’t come out until 2007. But the author justifies this by pointing out that the finale of Danny Phantom came out in 2007, about two months after the release of the first iPhone.
  • Anti-Villain:
    • The rabbits that run the Destiny Management Bureau are revealed to be responsible for most if not all of the crazy things that happen in the series because they are taking orders from “higher up”. They are actually eager for them to pass the threshold (the last Urusei Yatsura movie after Final Chapter, Always My Darling) so they can start choosing people's destinies in Tomobiki THEIR way. When Danny unexpectedly shows up they do whatever they can to impede him.
    • Lum is willing to (falsely) threaten the earth just to get Ataru to say he loves her. She also shocked people just for irritating her and doesn't care about the collateral damage that the mushrooms caused. But it's shown that she doesn't really want the earth to end and tells Rupa to have his pigs devour the mushrooms anyways if Ataru doesn't catch her. She also thinks that the rest of the human race is just as durable as the humans she's met in Tomobiki so she doesn't believe Danny's claims that people will be hurt by the spreading mushrooms. When Danny shows her how the people outside of Tomobiki are suffering she has Rupa clear the mushrooms everywhere but Tomobiki out of guilt.
  • Ancient Astronauts: Chapter four implies that the Japanese folklore involving Yuki-Onna, Oni, and the gods of luck are from Oyuki, Benten, and Lum's species visiting earth in the past. However, Rosario+Vampire is part of this constructed world and there's no indication that the Yuki-Onna and Oni there are of alien descent. Oyuki doesn’t rule out that similar/similarly named species could have evolved on both Earth and in space thanks to "parallel evolution".
  • Anguished Declaration of Love: Ataru gives one to Lum at the end thanks to some Character Development. Though he doesn’t say he loves her exactly he begs her not to leave and admits she’s the only girl he actually cares about. When Ataru says he will tell Lum he loves her on his deathbed (like cannon) he then sees a giant monster cloud and thinks he’s gonna die.
    • “I love you, Lum.”
  • Appearance Is in the Eye of the Beholder: Most of the Sailor Guardians don’t consider Danny much physically when they first see him. Sailor Venus thinks that “Phantom” is more attractive than “Fenton” while the others think they look the same/similar. Sailor Jupiter finds both Danny's cute, but this may be because of his personality.
  • Ascended Fanboy:
    • Danny, a space fanatic, is thrilled to be talking to actual aliens and going on one of their spaceships. He hopes that after this is over he can convince them to take him to space.
    • Inaba considers himself a Danny Phantom "Phan"/fan and is happy to meet Danny in person.
    • Oyuki feels honored to meet the Sailor Guardians since she knows they are the reincarnations of the queens from the silver millennium and offers to help Sailor Mercury and Danny freeze the mushrooms to slow their growth to just spend time with them.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Ten visits Ataru when he sleeps on the final day and though he claims he won't miss him he sheds a tear. Considering how much Ataru and Ten were always bickering with each other and trying to get each other into trouble, it's kinda sweet. Ataru is touched when he wakes up.
    • Right afterward his mother tells him that she never actually meant it when she said she wished she never had him and they have a heart-to-heart where she tells him that she does love him and she and her father do love each other.
  • Berserk Button: Don't abuse children in front of Jack and Maddie, two loving but flawed parents, or they'll turn their ghost hunting wrath on you.
  • Beyond the Impossible:
    • The Fentons are absolutely astounded by how so many people in Tomobiki possess superhuman speed, strength and durability to so many things that would kill or greatly injure a normal person. The people of Tomobiki, however, are surprised when they hear that their abilities are considered superhuman to them.
    • Kotatsu-neko breaking a Fenton Thermos after getting sucked into it — While Danny notes that ghosts have damaged them before, Freak Show broke a thermos from the inside out after he used the reality gauntlet to turn himself into a very powerful ghost, but even then Danny still had plenty of time to get him to the Guys in White before then. And even when Dark Danny was destroying the thermos he was trapped in it was a slow enough process that gave Danny enough time to have his parents construct a better thermos which has since kept him contained. But Kotatsu-neko manages to break himself free in less than ten seconds.
      Maddie: How is that possible!?
  • Butt-Monkey: Jack and Maddie often bite off more than they can chew when they try hunting ghosts in Japan. When they first arrive they are assaulted by Eiko in retribution for them hurting Squid Girl (thinking she was a ghost) and damaging a table in the process. Then in Tomobiki they attack Kotatsu-neko (since he is a ghost) but he turns out to be so strong that their weapons hardly phase him. Jack also tries to attack Nagisa (who was a ghost before touching a special sea urchin tear) only for him to be easily beaten by him.
  • Book Dumb: Played for Drama, Lum doesn’t believe the guardian's claims that the amnesia device could harm them mentally too because she doesn’t know about the Silver Millennium. She admits that Galactic History wasn’t her strong suit.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: The aliens (Oni and Dark worldian) see no issue with scaring everyone on earth and even erasing their memories to help Lum through relationship issues.
  • Breaking the Cycle of Bad Parenting: In the sequel, both Ran and Ryuunosuke resolve to get help now so they dont make the same mistakes with their own kids that their parents made with them.
  • Call-Back: At the end of each chapter the author includes a list of what manga chapters/anime episodes or movies that were referenced.
  • The Cameo: Various characters from other anime’s make appearances, sometimes watching the game of tag on tv (Touhou Fuhai of Rosario + Vampire II, Risa, and Otani from Lovely Complex, the cast of Nagasarete Airantou appears briefly, Ranma and co from Ranma 1/2, and Yukinari and Miharu from Girls Bravo), or they meet the Fentons in person (Squid-Girl, Ukyo from Ranma 1/2).
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Everyone, including Danny, knows that for all his lechery and girl-chasing Ataru really does love Lum, but like in cannon he cant/wont admit it (or even just claim its a lie) for various reasons: 1) he would have to give up his freedom, 2) he's compelled not to by Lums strong personality and clinginess which will get worse when he commits, 3) if he tries too then every other guy who likes her will get mad, 4) He hates being forced to do things, and 5) If he did tell her now under such circumstances, she would think he doesn’t actually mean it.
    • This is part of the reason why most of the people of Tomobiki place more blame for whats happening on Ataru than they do Lum.
  • The Chain of Harm: Ran’s mother was abused by her own mother in the same way she would end up abusing Ran. She continues the cycle because she actually believes she was a bad girl (like her mother always said she was) and so she punishes Ran for (from her warped perspective) being a “bad girl” as well. As Ran looks through her family album she realizes that every generation of mother and daughter in her family has abused the other in the same way for the same reasons, going back to a distant ancestor who really only abused their daughter because she was stressed from work but her daughter misinterpreted it as Tough Love.
  • Cassandra Truth: Kawa immediately thinks that Ran put Lum up to lying for her when she confesses to letting Ran take the fall for her bed wetting when they were kids.
  • Character Development:
    • After talking to Danny, Lisa Fakuyama lets go of her obsession with Yukinari and decides to be happy for his marriage to Miharu and find a new person with a bandaid, kill-kitty keychain and checkered handkerchief.
    • Very slow and subtle, no doubt impacted by the Fate Bureaus machinations, but Jazz and Danny are making an impact on Ataru and Lum respectively.
      • Danny calling Lum out on her scaring the world, showing the world-wide impacts of her actions and revealing how electricity can be damaging to humans causes Lum to start being more cautious. She even stops electrocuting Ataru and sends her people to clean up the mushrooms everywhere that aren't Tomobiki. She probably would have stopped this whole thing if it wasn't for the rabbits.
      • In the sequel she only nudges Atatu with her elbow or gives him a shock of static electricity when angry at him rather than full on electrocuting him.
      • Jazz is slowly encouraging Ataru to be a better person, in part by forcing him to face his faults.
      • In the sequel, Atatu is shown to have matured somewhat. Although he stil likes to tease girls in his friend group with fake flirting he makes it clear that he doesnt actually mean it. And while he still shows his attraction to other girls he is still more openly affectionate with Lum and reassures her that she's the only one he's really interested in. He also encourages Ryuunosuke to explore her sexuality for her own happiness. Benten and Ryuunosuke even admit that while he can still be annoying at times, now they actually find him TOLERABLE and LIKE him. He even has a decent conversation with Rio (from the final movie Always My Darling) and congradualtes him in his engagement, realizing that before he would have seen Rio as a rival for another girls affections and hated him.
    • Jazz gets Ran to open up and she agrees to let Jazz be her psychiatrist so she can handle her emotions in a better way.
      • She is far more friendly and stable in the sequel and is actively working to get over her issues to be a better person and (eventually) a better mother.
  • Chess Master: The Rabbits Fate Production Bureau can influence events by creating "futures" that take place just a day or a couple of hours from the present. Putting them in place then influences the people in the present to make choices that ensure that those futures come to pass.
    • For example, when Lum and the heroes actually start talking, they create a future where they are still fighting a few minutes from now, which causes Sailor Moon to accidentally attack Lum with her sonic scream.
    • They directly ensure that Lum is capable enough to fight Danny and the Guardians at once by creating "futures" where she stocks up on the appropriate weaponry, causing her to have these ideas in the present.
    • "A Break and a Date part 1" hints and is revealed in Chapter 16 that Clockwork planned for Danny to come to Tomobiki to set up the chain of events that would lead to Oni technology being distributed throughout Japan and releasing radiation that affects the people's genes because it turns out that Lum and her technology release a radiation which allows the ANME-Gene to be more prominent, so he wanted to make the people in those cities unkillable for when Alucard's spawn awakens. As well as to set several people in Tomobiki (Lum, Ataru, Ryuunosuke and Ran) on a path to a better future.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Lum is this to Ataru.
    • Sam doesn’t like the idea of Danny being surrounded by the Sailor Guardians.
    • Ran points a knife at Jazz for showing attraction to Rei.
    • Carla tried to kill Lum with a bazooka for being forced to marry Rupa. When she was a child she clawed Rupa’s face, hit him with a bat, and fired a bazooka at him when he told her of his engagement.
    • Megane is a gender-inverted version of Lum. He outright knocks Ataru out before he can confess to her.
    • Lisa Fakuyama to Yukinari Sasaki.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror:
    • The citizens of Tomobiki casually have supernatural creatures like ghosts walking around, and aliens causing craziness and regular characters possess cartoon-level abilities such as superhuman strength, durability, speed, etc, but not only do they treat it like it's normal but they are confused by the Fentons' aversion to it.
    • The Fentons are shocked when Ryuunosuke reveals that the ghost-cat they tried to fight casually roams the city and has tea with his principal like it's nothing. They assume that since the cat has been around for 100+ years people have just gotten used to it. They are also shocked when they find out that Ataru has been repeatedly shocked by Lum whenever he flirted with other girls and that he's "used to it" by his own account.
  • Constructed World: Here, several anime’s/manga’s take place in Japan in the Danny Phantom universe. Anime included so far include: Urusei Yatsura, Squid Girl, Ranma 1/2, Rosario + Vampire (manga version), Nagasarete Airantou (manga version), Lovely★Complex, Girls Bravo (a fusion of the manga and the anime), Sword Art Online, ‘’Death Note’’, ‘’ Inuyasha’’ and Sailor Moon. A discussion between the rabbits and a brief glimpse at the future reveals that the 2003 version of AstroBoy is set to happen in the future. The Fate Management Bureau state that there has recently been a "merger" where two unrelated timelines (Danny Phantom and Urusei Yatsura, among others) have become part of the same timeline and they hate it since characters meet and it "messes with the plan".
    • In the sequel it reveals that "Welcome to Demon School Iruma-Kun" is part of this universe, with Iruma being from the constructed world and him going to one of the different demon worlds.
    • An app form of Duel Monsters from "Yu-Gi-Oh" is played by Tucker and Benten.
  • Dark and Troubled Past:
    • Ryuunosuke’s mother either died or left when she was a baby and she’s since been raised by a physically abusive and misogynistic father who forced her to act like a boy and enforced his will through violence, among other mistreatments.
    • Lita’s parents died in a plane crash and she’s lived by herself in their old apartment with minimal help from the landlord as she got older.
    • Ran was raised by an abusive “strict” mother who was convinced she was a bad kid and harshly spanked her for anything (she thought) Ran did wrong. Which thanks to Lum happened a lot.
    • Maddie and Jack had another child two years older than Jazz named Flynn who was kidnapped by a ghost and taken to the ghost zone when Jazz was five and he was seven. Danny doesn’t remember his brother until he sees a memory of this event but the rest of the family was deeply affected. Jazz mutters for him not to leave in her sleep and it’s implied that his disappearance made Jack and Maddie (especially Maddie) more obsessed with killing ghosts.
    • Inaba was originally from one of the potential futures that the Destiny Production Bureau created where the two people who would be his parents married. However, their choices in the present resulted in them marrying different people so that door/timeline was set to be destroyed. However, Status Quo told the Bureau to spare Inaba and make him an apprentice seeing potential in him. So basically Inaba's parents and the entire world he came from are gone. When he becomes the new head of the Bureau he makes a new policy where averted futures are kept as alternate timelines.
  • Deconstruction: Clockwork reveals to Danny that at the end of his intended "series" the people of earth would have realized that the disasteroid wasn't big enough to destroy the planet and he would have lost some of his fame (and gotten some of his statues taken down). Also that Tucker was only made temporary mayor for being friends with him since he's only 14, and he got kicked out of office even earlier than expected for sexual harassment.
    • In the series Ran's mother outright stated that she wouldnt have hesitated to spank Lum if she wet the bed even if she isnt her daughter. In the sequel she gets charged with child abuse after she watches a kid for another couple and punishes them like she always did her daughter.
  • Deconstruction Crossover: The Fentons, being a (relatively) normal family, are effectively a window into how madcap many of the anime settings are to an outsider.
    • Danny and his family express how Lum, for all her good traits, is manipulative and cruel to Ataru and is allowed to get away with a lot of bad things.
  • Deliberate Values Dissonance:
    • Lum, Carla, and Benten dress in a way that is very skimpy by earth standards (Jazz covers Danny's eyes), though the latter states that their style of dress is considered appropriate for women, not just on their planets but several others.
    • Played with. When hearing about Ran's childhood a disgusted Maddie at least asks if Ran's mother brutally spanked her for bad behavior (even if she was framed by Lum), naturally assuming she did something wrong without making sure, hitting her while harshly comparing her to other kids, calling her shameful, and threatening to spank a child that isn't even hers is considered acceptable on their planet. Benten and Oyuki confirm that it ISNT
  • Demoted to Extra: Sam and Tucker are still in Amity Park, America while Danny and his family are in Tomobiki, Japan. They hardly appear except for when Danny chats with them at night online to talk about all the crazy things that have been happening to him. Justified since Sam was grounded over some protest she went to while Tucker didn't want to step foot in a country with more fish than red meat.
  • Disappeared Dad: Ran’s father left before she was born because he couldn’t stand her mother.
  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: Many characters lampshade how normalized female-on-male violence is no matter the context of the situation.
    • Jazz doesn't feel that as big as a leech Ataru is, he deserves to be attacked for it. Especially not by Sukara (a thirty-year-old woman while Ataru is still technically a minor at 17), or with Sinobu's superhuman strength.
    • Jazz and Danny also don't like hearing that Lum shocks Ataru for chasing other girls since, to them, electricity is very dangerous.
    • Danny acknowledges that the people of Tomobiki are blaming Ataru alone for the mushrooms, while either dismissing Lums moral responsibilities or putting her on a pedestal because she’s a cute girl while he’s an annoying guy. He figures that if Lum was uglier then no one would tolerate her as much.
  • Dude Magnet: Lum. Just about every guy who sees her finds her attractive.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Clockwork reveals that he was the one who sent Danny and his family to Tomobiki, willingly defying the Destiny Bureau’s plan, to achieve this. Danny and Jazz help Ataru and Lum mature into better people, get Ryuunosukle freed from her abusive father, help Ran start to overcome her issues, remove the Mendo family's corrupt influence on Japan, and allow Alucard to be defeated with little to no casualties. Clockwork also reveals what happened to Danny’s older brother Flynn and the Fentons resolve to find him after they dealt with Vlad, while Danny and Lita find love in each other.
    • After all the bad luck he’s had in the series, including being tormented by Ryoko, Tobimaro Mizunokji gets a loving (and mostly reformed) girlfriend in Lisa Fakuyama. Lisa herself has finally found a man who wants to be with her and has gotten over her unrequited love for Yukinari.
    • Tobimaro‘s sister Asuka, who is male-phobic, is given the opportunity to move to the all-female planet Seiren thanks to Lisa’s alien friends while still commuting to earth to be with her brother and live her dream job someday as the headmistress of an all-girls school. Like in the manga she’s also now got glasses that make things seem farther away from her to tolerate men better and she’s considering going to therapy.
    • Yukinari is married to Miharu at the end of their Manga series, while their relationship status is unchanged in the anime due to Yukinari's Unwanted Harem. Here, he and Miharu are happily married, living on earth, and expecting a child.
  • Easily Forgiven:
    • Danny is hesitant about Clockwork when it turns out he had been manipulating certain events of Danny’s life like the Destiny Bureau did because of Status Quo. But Clockwork makes it up to him by vouching for Danny to be able to choose his own destiny and gives him information about his Long Lost Brother Flynn.
    • zig-zagged at the end, the sailor guardians and Danny Phantom are still mad at Ataru and Lum. But after learning about the Destiny Production Bureaus interference, they help destroy the dark cloud monster and help deal with Vlad once and for all they decide to put them on “parole”. They will watch them and if they cause any world ending shenanigans again they will throw them both off earth.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Mendo doesn't understand why Jazz would reject him after discovering that he is chasing after Lum and intends to marry another girl if he can't get her since most girls in the city are so captivated by his charm, looks, and money that they just want to be with him. He thinks she must not be into men like Ryuunosuke is.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • As big of a leech Ataru is, he doesn't pester Jazz after she politely rejects his request to give him her contact information since he appreciates (though is confused why) that she didn't physically hurt like like every other girl does in the process.
    • While Jack and Maddie do cause their kids grief, they are repulsed by Mr. Fujinami's treatment of his own daughter.
    • The lead rabbit is against creating a “near future” where Katie Kaboom is brought to the real world and given a love potion by Ryoko to torment Danny. While he wants to make sure Danny doesn’t interfere with the cannon he isn’t out to explicitly torture the boy.
  • Expy:
    • Lita/Makoto says that she played Sword Art Online so she could see what it was like to have a shorter body but came to appreciate her height because of it, like Kohiruimaki Karen.
    • Jazz mentions counseling a student whose mother had incredibly high expectations and considered him a failure for the tiniest errors, like Terminal from Batman Beyond.
    • Status Quo is described as looking like Tabuu from Super Smash Bro’s but made out of television static. Like Tabuu Quo is a god-like being that lives in Sub-space.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Ryoko Mendo is very beautiful, but is also a Soft-Spoken Sadist with Dissonant Serenity and sociopathic tendencies.
Ryoko: It’s not my fault I find other people's pain amusing.
    • Lum is a downplayed example. She’s very beautiful, even noted to be more attractive than Paulina, and she’s from a race of “space demons” but she isn’t evil so to say, she’s more morally neutral.
  • Fantastic Racism: Like in canon, Jack and Maddie believe that all ghosts are a threat and attack them on sight. They justify it with the belief that a person doesn't become a ghost unless they have had "issues" and obsessions in life that makes them unstable as a ghost, in addition to their powers. Though Maddie also admits that a part of it is For Science! on her part because she wants to dissect one too. Though, as Ryuunosuke points out, ghosts can also exist because they have unfinished business rather than being malevolent, telling them that the ghost cat they tried to attack froze to death and now just looks for warmth while causally interacting with the rest of the town.
    • The asura Danny fights instantly recognizes him as a ghost-human hybrid via sensing his human and ghostly auras. She is disgusted by him calling him a freak of nature. She also seems to be prejudiced against ghosts in general proclaiming she will not lose to a “mere ghost”.
  • Foil: Clockwork tells Danny that they made sure he would get ghost powers specifically to serve as Vlad’s antithesis.
    • Lum and Makoto are both girls with alien-based origins, royalty, and have electric-based powers.
      • However, Makoto is the human reincarnation of the princess of Jupiter during the Silver Millennium while Lum is an Oni alien daughter of a warlord from the planet Oniboshi. Makoto is a superhero while Lum is mortally neutral and has had her moments of being antagonistic in the fic.
    • Also between Danny and Ataru.
      • They both have alien-esque love interests and moments of perversion. However, Ataru is older than Danny but Danny has more maturity. Danny keeps his teenage hormones under control (aside from a few times he used his powers to sneak into the girl's locker room) and is respectful to girls while Ataru is openly lecherous. Danny has a few admirers (Lita, Sam, formerly Valarie, Paulina and formerly Minako in his ghost form) but rejects them in favor of Lita, while Ataru leeches after many girls but Lum is the only one who likes him. Also, Danny just met Lita but they quickly bond and confess their love for each other at the end of the fic, while Ataru has been with Lum for a few years now and though he likes her he won't admit it which starts the whole plot of this fic.
  • Freudian Excuse: Chapter 13 suggests that Maddie’s violence towards ghosts stems from a ghost abducting her oldest child when he was seven.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Ryuunosuke and Benten both admit that Ataru has certain good qualities that they admire (Ryuunosuke for treating her like an actual girl and Benten admits being impressed with him taking initiative to retrieve Lum), but they are too disgusted by his perverted acts towards them to actually like him.
    • In the sequel, after Ataru becomes an official couple with Lum and ceases his groping and flirting with them their perception of him improves greatly. Though he still likes to joke and tease with them and still has some lecherous traits he is far more pleasant to them than he was before and Benten even described him as “tolerable”.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: The Destiny Production Bureau are revealed to be responsible for the majority, if not all, of the crazy events that happen in Tomobiki because they receive orders from "higher up" for entertainment purposes. From Lum coming to Tomobiki in the first place and they are trying to make sure that the events of the Final Chapter and later Always my Darling happen as they did in canon. Danny and the Sailor Guardians coming to Tomobiki mess things up for them, so they give Lum ideas for how to combat them.
  • Genius Loci: Danny meets an entity created from the accumulated memories of the people of Tomobiki that has complete control over the city's physical structure, and weather and can affect supernatural entities like him. It’s the same entity Lum met in “Lum the Forever”.
  • Hammerspace: The residents of Tomobiki pull out mallets from out of nowhere. The Fentons ask where they come from.
    • Subverted with Carla who explains that she pulls her bazooka from her home in the world of darkness, pulling it out from a portal created by the shadows.
  • Happy Ending Override: Most or entirely averted, because of Danny being allowed to change his fate the events of Phantom Planet will not happen. This means that Danny won't end up preventing the impact of the Disasteroid, he won't get statues of himself all over the world, he and Sam won't become a couple and Tucker won't become mayor. However, Clockwork reveals that after the series finale people will realize that the Disasteroid wasn't actually big enough to cause an apocalypse and would have hit a baren area so Danny will just end up getting his statues taken down anyways, but will still be recognized for beating Freakshow, Vortex, Pariah Dark and Undergrowth in the past, which can still happen in this timeline. Similarly, Tucker, being fourteen, was only given position as temporary mayor due to being Danny’s best friend until a replacement could be decided and he was actually kicked out early for trying to enact “Miniskirt Fridays”. Also, Danny decides that he and Sam aren’t compatible in this timeline and he’s fallen for Lita, while his parents now know his secret and accept him and they work together to get rid of Vlad. Ultimately, at the end of the fic, Danny still gets his happy ending just through different means.
  • Harmless Freezing:
  • The Heart: Jazz spends most of her time in Tomobiki getting through to people and helping them become better.
    • For Ryuunosuke she convinces her to take a stand against her abusive father and press legal action.
    • She touches Ataru by not reacting violently to him and treating him nicely despite his perversion which encourages him to not be obnoxious to her.
    • She also manages to even get through to RAN by helping her realize that, as bad as a friend Lum was, her mother was far from the best as well and offers to be her therapist.
    • She talks to Ataru's mother about being nicer to her son. Mrs. Moroboshi ignores her atfirst but decides to take the advice on the ninth day.
  • Heel–Face Door-Slam: Lum is tempted many times by Danny calling her out to stop what she's doing, but the Fate Production Bureau keep creating "futures" where the "Mushroom-Crisis" continues, negating Lum from changing her mind in the present.
  • Hate Sink: Nobody likes Vlad.
  • Hidden Depths: Jack, of all people, manages to manipulate Danny into coming to Japan by pointing out he'll have a chance of running into the Sailor Guardians. For all his obliviousness, Jack does understand his son more than his goofball ways would suggest.
    • Ataru, for all his idiocy, stubbornness, and lechery, does truly care about Lum and part of the reason he's adamant to say he loves her is because he feels it wouldn't be right under these circumstances. He also reveals to his mother that Sinobu dumped him after Lum butted into his life and Mendo came along deeply hurt him.
  • Hypocrite: Vlad resents Jack for “stealing” Maddie from him, even though Maddie points out she had been dating Jack the whole time. Then Vlad asserts that he could stolen her from Jack is he hadn’t accidentally hospitalized him.
    • Ran's mother insists that her parenting style is the best since thats now her mother raised her and she thinks she came out "just fine" but Ran has never even met her grandmother and its all but stated that Kawa hates and fears her mother as much as Ran does her.
  • Hero of Another Story: This is all happening during the second season of Rosario + Vampire, when Tsukune Aono and his friends are being trained by Touhou Fuhai to take on Fairy Tale and rescue Moka to save the world.
  • Hormone-Addled Teenager: The guys (especially Ataru) leech after cute girls, while the girls throw themselves at handsome guys (or in Ryuunosuke’s case, girls that look like cute guys).
    • When Mamoru and the sailor guardians arrive, the girls have to fight off the guys and the girls encircle Mamoru. Half trying to grab onto him, half arguing whose better, him or Ryuunosuke.
  • Huge School Girl: Makoto like in canon stands 5’6”, which Danny notes is about as tall as his mom. Which makes her huge compared to him. Danny doesn’t have any issue with that even genuinely asking Tucker why would be considered a problem.
  • I Choose to Stay: Flynn/Exodus (Danny and Jazz's long lost brother) decides to stay in the ghost zone and continue maintaining order even after regaining his memories but he promises to keep in thouch.
  • I Let You Win: The Destiny Production Bureau reveals to Danny that, to keep up the plot line of Dan Phantom causing destruction to the world and forcing the observers to get involved and keep it from happening in the first place, they made sure that anyone who could have beaten Dan (Exodus, Pandora, The Sailor Guardians, Moka Akashiya and Tsukune Aono, or Chizuru Aizawa with an anti-ghost knife) were either preoccupied, not allowed to meet him, or they made sure that Dan got lucky and killed them first.
  • I Lied: Jack misleads Danny about meeting the Sailor Guardians to get him to come to Japan. Danny is pissed but still excited about the real mission.
  • In Spite of a Nail: The rabbits are determined to make sure that the events of “the final chapter” occur as planned despite the Fentons being there. They do fairly well until the end thanks to Inaba.
  • It's All About Me: Jazz and Danny point out that, as stubborn, stupid and lecherous as Ataru is, Lum isn't really that much better in the long run because of her selfishness and lack of concern. Namely, her (to them at least) risking the Earth's survival because of her relationship issues with Ataru. Likewise, Danny calls Ataru selfish for not just telling Lum he loves her and ending this whole mess.* Innocently Insensitive: Danny complains about his parent setting Lita off due to her being orphaned.
  • Jerkass: Kawa, Ran’s mother, is a massive jerk to her daughter and is an unrepentant abuser because she thinks her methods of discipline are right. She is also generally unpleasant to be around to anyone else, insulting Maddie and Jazz for being from a “back water planet”.
  • Jerkass Gods: The person that the Destiny Production Bureau takes orders from has ordered them to set in lotion basically everything that’s happened in Tomobiki, from Lum arriving in the first place up until the current story, for amusement. The rabbits are eager for it to be over but only because they consider it more like a chore than anything else.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: What Ataru mostly matures into in the sequel.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Sailor Mars and Tuxedo Mask have reservations about trusting Danny since they recognize he’s keeping things from them. Danny is irritated by this, but Tucker points out that he told them their backstories even though they asked him to keep them secret.
  • Jerkass Realization: Ataru's mother has one when her son points out after she asks him why he can't tell Lum he loves her, that she never really told him that she loves him before and he's never seen her and his dad say they love each other either.
    • Maddie and Jack apologize to Danny for all those times they attacked him in ghost form when they find out that he is Danny Phantom and when they are shown by Clockwork that the things they held against Danny Phantom were actually framing attempts by other ghosts. Though Jack blames the other ghosts for making his son look bad.
  • Just Toying with Them: zig-zagged, the demons, especially the asura, were fighting Danny for real but they were told by Lisa and Ryoko to not try to remove his soul from his ectoplasmic form since doing so would have ended the fight and other monsters can’t do that. Several times the demons have been shown able to do so but they either resist or take their time until Danny can break free from them. Danny still manages to wing in the end by keeping his distance and attacking from afar.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: The Fate Production Bureau state that their reality has recently undergone a "merger" (referencing how this is a crossover fic) and Danny arriving in Japan isn't part of their plan (ensuring that the events of The Final Chapter and Always My Darling) happen like they do in cannon.
  • Loves My Alter Ego: Minako thinks Danny Phantom is cool but doesn’t think much of Danny Fenton. She then tells Makoto she can have him when they find out they are the same person.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: After Lisa Fakuyama pays off Velail's dept to Ryoko, she and her parents instantly receive a lot of lawsuits for the things they have done throughout the series. Ryoko herself ends up in juvie, her father in jail and the whole Mendo clan is left with only $1,000,000 and sell their remaining assets to their rivals.
    • Ryuunosuke's father is finally arrested for his treatment of his daughter.
    • Turns out the Lead Rabbit in charge of the Destiny Production Management Bureau wasn't specifically told to intervene with Danny coming to Tomobiki, he just assumed he had to. Given that his actions resulted in the creation of a cloud monster that would have covered the world in darkness being created (by him having Lum use a Nemesis crystal in her devices which absorbed Danny’s ghost energies), and he has the time travel uniforms for girls resemble playboy busy outfits, he is replaced by Status Quo with Inaba.
  • Karmic Jackpot: In the sequel, Benten sets Jazz up with her cousin Ebisu who is very smart and attractive in return for being a good friend to them all.
  • Kryptonite Factor: Ofuda’s, or their symbols, work on both demons (which can’t be hurt with ghost weapons) and ghosts since they are all supernatural.
  • Logical Weakness: Since demons have the ability to steal souls, and ghosts are composed of soul, spirit energy, and ectoplasm, demons can hurt Danny when he fights them even when he tries to phase.
    • Any monster with a demonic aura can affect a ghost as well, keeping them from phasing and preventing them from morphing their bodies if they touch them.
    • Vampires, in particular, who not only have strong demonic auras but can also utilize spirit energy in their bodies to become stronger, means a ghost will instantly be weakened even if they could phase through one.
    • Danny suggests that the memory-erasing device can hurt the entity that lives underneath Tomobiki given that it’s created from the people's accumulated memories. It doesn’t deny and gives Danny a power-up to aid him against Lum.
    • Jazz is able to stun the mushroom clone of Danny by spraying it with Anti-Fungal spray that specifically works on mushrooms.
  • Long-Distance Relationship: Danny and Lita enter this at the end of the first story and the sequel.
  • Love at First Sight: Danny immediately becomes smitten with Makoto when he sees her. Even more so when she beats up Lums Stormtroopers to save him. Lita then falls for Danny when he sincerely thanks her and compliments her skills, since that doesn’t happen to her often.
  • Magic Genetics: It's explained that most of the residents of Tomobiki have the ANME-gene, which gives them superhuman strength, durability, speed, reflexes, etc. It is also present in other parts of Japan's population in lesser quantities.
    • Nagisa died and became a ghost, returned to life by touching a sea urchin tear, but is still affected by anti-ghost charms/weapons and sets off the Fenton Finder. So essentially he's human with a little ghost still in him.
  • The Masquerade: Downplayed: the Japanese government mostly covered up Lum's world-endangering shenanigans with Ataru since they would create a panic in the Japanese public. However, the events still leaked to the public, but were largely dismissed as nonsense by most people.
  • Murder Arson And Jay Walking: Ryuunosuke's father is arrested for child abuse, assault, and health code violations.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Two of the alternate universes Danny visits in an Omake are concepts for AU’s that Butch Hartman thought of.
    • Danny and Lita vs Lum Part 3 have Exodus Danny and Jazz’s long lost older brother which is also an unofficial Butch Hartman concept.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Lum considers asking Rupa to send the pigs to take care of the mushrooms without needing Ataru to say he loves her after Danny calls her out on her selfishness, but then his parents threaten her instead and she resumes her original plan.
    • When it seems like Ataru is actually about to tell Lum he loves her, Megane knocks him out. He is then attacked by everyone else there for it.
    • Benten accidentally activates the Amnesia Device while threatening to end her friendship with Lum if SHE activates it.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Ran's mother is given the name "Kawa". Its a play on "Kawahime", which is the closest thing that Japanese folklore has to the concept of a succubus.
  • Noble Demon: Lum isn't actually going to let the mushrooms overrun the earth; she tells Rupa to have the pigs devour them in ten days regardless if Ataru catches her or says he loves her or not by then. Though she still lets the rest of the earth think that to motivate Ataru into doing so to save the planet. She also still electrocutes people when she's angry and is willing to let the mushrooms cause collateral damage until then. However, in both cases she honestly doesn't think anyone would be seriously hurt by it due to spending all of her time on Earth in a place where everyone is Made of Iron due to the ANME-gene.
  • No Guy Wants an Amazon: While Tucker admits Sailor Jupiter is attractive, he questions how Danny can stand being with a girl so much taller than him, asking if it makes him feel like a kid. Danny takes offense to that and says he doesn’t care about the height. A lot of guys were like this towards Lita before she met Danny and received that he likes her regardless.
  • The Not-Love Interest: Word of God is that the creator didn’t actually wanna ship Sailor Venus and Danny, he just had her having a crush on Phantom because she did in the fanfic that inspired this one. In fact she looses interest in him very quickly.
  • Not So Stoic: The normally stoic and cold Oyuki is excited to see the Sailor Guardians, knowing they are the reincarnations of the queens of the Silver Millennium.
  • Oblivious to Love: Danny has no idea that Sailor Venus is crushing on his ghost-half. Until later.
  • Odd Friendship: In Tomobiki Jazz befriends Ryunosuke, Benten, Oyuki and Ran. She also seems to genuinely want Ataru to become a better person and is subtly manipulating him towards that.
  • Only Sane by Comparison: The Fentons consist of a ghost-hunting couple, a son who is a half-ghost, and a daughter who is the only truly normal person. And yet they come across as more sane and rational than many of the people they encounter in Japan.
  • Outside-Context Problem: Danny laments that if a ghost was making these mushrooms he would have the problem solved by now. instead, he's dealing with a fast spreading alien plant that he can't fight faster than it spreads and all he can do is slow it down with his ice powers.
  • Pet the Dog: Ataru, normally an obnoxious lech and a pervert, takes Jazz's rejection in stride and just walks away from her because she did so politely and didn't physically assault him in doing so, unlike other girls he's known.
    • After seeing Lum almost get killed by Sailor Mars, Mataru decides to stop the whole thing and actually say he loves Lum. Too bad Megane knocks him out.
    • Lum and Rupa keep Lum's parents from arresting Danny and the guardians even after they attacked Lum and nearly destroy the amnesia device.
    • Before being taken away by the police, Ryuunosuke's father tells her the truth about her mother.
  • Poor Communication Kills: While ranting about how embarrassing his parents are to Lita, Danny leaves out that they keep trying to attack people and spirits that they think are ghosts. He is afraid that if he talks about ghosts and spirits it will make her think he’s from a family of weirdos, but instead, Lita gets the impression that Danny is just an ungrateful teenager who resents his parents.
  • Power-Up: Danny gets one courtesy of the Memories of Tomobiki via Inaba's interference with destiny, and when he uses it he demolishes the amnesia device despite it previously being Nigh-Invulnerable.
  • Race Against the Clock: When the Amnesia Device shows up that will erase the memory of everything alien from the humans of earth unless Ataru says he loves Lum or grabs her horns within the final tag day. The Sailor Guardians are especially afraid since they themselves are the reincarnations of alien princesses so they fear forgetting who they are, each other, and that they are heroes which could lead to their enemies destroying the earth.
  • The Reveal:
    • The Sailor Guardians suits come with a spell that makes them unrecognizable in their civilian identities.
    • Longterm exposure to ectoplasm has affected Jack and Maddie's (and Vlad's) DNA which makes them just as likely to develop ghost powers when exposed to ghostly energies as they are to get ecto-acne (both seen with Vlad and Jack in an alternate timeline in cannon) while both Danny and Jazz are more likely to become halfa's without harmful effects due to having accumulated more in their system from their parents and exposure.
    • Ryoko's servants are mannequins animated by magic. She also made a deal with the Devil Velail to make her and her parents Karma Houdini's as long as he is indebted to her for fixing his vacuum (with gold).
  • Screw Destiny: At the end, Status Quo allows the changes that were made in Tomobiki to stay in place and allows Danny to change his own threshold (Phantom Planet), against the Destiny Bureau’s wishes, rationing that since this is a “merged timeline” (a fanfic) there is bound to be changes, though he still wishes that the Sailor Guaridans continue their path as planned and forbids Danny from going back to Japan to help them until they beat Sailor Galaxia.
  • Secret-Keeper: Sakura instantly recognizes Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom are the same due to her being a priestess. Inaba also knows due to observing time and space and they tell Sinobu. All three tell Danny his secret is safe with them.
    • Sakura even erases Maddie and Jacks memories when they start to piece it together (while studying Nagisa) on behalf of Clockwork.
    • Rei/Sailor Jupiter also senses the similarities but Danny reveals his secret to the guardians right after.
  • Shout-Out: The ‘’Ben 10’’ franchise exists in this universe as a Tv show. Benten hates being compared to Ben Tennyson.
    • One of the rabbits in the Fate Production Bureau mentions Ittou, an associate and implied love interest of Sailor Jupiter. The other rabbits explain that they don’t know each other in the timeline that was “copied and merged” with the one they are in now (the 90’s anime).
    • The author specifically states that this fanfic was inspired by "Danny and Makoto" by NeoMark. One of the rabbits states that he is a fan of that timeline and arranges for the Sailor Guardians to come to Tomobiki just so Makoto can meet Danny.
      • Danny at first Squid-Girl is swearing a costume and the Lemon House’s mascot, like he does when he first comes to Japan.
      • Danny is attracted to Sailor Jupiter.
      • The Sailor Guardians are currently fighting the Black Moon clan. Word of God is that their arc takes place in Sailor Moon R between episodes 80 and 81.
      • Ami gets sent to a dimension where he is real and develops a crush on him (they date in Danny and Makoto).
      • Danny mentions being scared of Katie Kaboom from Animaniacs as a child. In Danny and Makoto Danny is still scared of her after going on a date with her in the parent fic.
    • When the Sailor Guardians and Mamoru Disguise themselves as government agents, their cover names are the same as their voice actors.
  • Selective Obliviousness: Some people, including Sakura who is a priestess, notice the similarities between Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom and sense that there is something off with them. But wheel Danny has met both Sailor Jupiter and Makoto Kino and realizes the former is familiar to him he cant pinpoint why. Word of God is that the Sailor Guardians costumes come with a spell that makes them unrecognizable.
  • Short Teens, Tall Adults: Lamp-shaded in chapter 8. When Tucker comments that Japanese people are usually shorter than Americans, Jazz points out that Amity Park in particular has the lowest average height rate for children and teenagers in the country and that they don’t reach regular height until they are already adults. Referencing how the minors are vastly smaller than the adults in Danny Phantom. Danny adds he wouldn’t mind being taller.
  • Skewed Priorities: Ranma's father insists that he/she use the mushrooms for training exercises rather than be concerned about them constantly spreading.
  • Social Services Does Not Exist: Averted. Ryuunosuke has the ability and means to get her cruel father thrown in jail, but she wants to defeat him first out of pride and honor. She gets over this later.
  • Stupidest Thing I've Ever Heard: Sam says this verbatim about the world depending on Ataru needing to win a game of tag against an alien.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Hearing about and fully understanding Ran's childhood and mother issues causes Benten, who up until that point didn't really like her, to sympathize with her. She even genuinely apologizes for, like Lum, indirectly getting her in trouble through the mischief they used to do in school as kids, which may have contributed to Ran's mothers poor opinion of her daughter.
    • Danny briefly feels sorry for Lum when she talks about her relationship with Ataru and why she’s doing this.
  • Take That!: When Sailor Jupiter accidentally gets sent to Mewni she convinces Danny to help solve the Solarian Warrior problem and Danny averts the whole contradictory series finale by introducing Solaria to Ectoplasm so she can leave the wand/realm of magic and depower Mina herself.
  • The Dreaded: Luna and Artemis warn the Sailor Guardians against directly attacking the Oni military because of how advanced they are.
    • Alucard to Sailor Mars and Danny. After hearing how he destroyed a continent in seven days Danny wonders if even his evil future self would measure up to him. Indeed Clockwork shows an alternate timeline where Dan is absorbed by Alucard.
  • The Juggernaut: Mada the asura is so strong and powerful that Danny can’t fight her head-on. He needs to use an Ofuda given to him by Sailor Mars, spray himself a few times with Ecto-Dejecto to heal himself and really strategize to beat her. Even then she is still willing to fight (though can barely stand) while Danny is all spent out.
    • In the sequel, Exodus/Flynn Fenton is so powerful that he nearly kills Danny. He is only stopped by Maddie and Jazz reminding him that he is their brother/son.
  • There Are No Therapists: Jazz asks Benten, Ran and Oyuki if there are therapists in space, they dont even know what that word is.
  • The Needs of the Many: In the sequel Status Quo tasks Inaba with ensuring that Tobio Tenma does so that his father will be motivated to make a robot in his image (Astro-Boy) which will be destined to create peace between humans and machines in the future. Inaba wants to find another way.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Jazz passive-aggressively gives one to Ataru while psychoanalyzing the reasons for his lechery. Ataru is left speechless and stops pestering Benten after hearing it.
Jazz: “Now Ataru, Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you're well aware that most girls actually wouldn’t consider you a catch.” Jazz says. “You’re rather average to plain looking, you come from a lower-middle class family, not known for being particularly bright and you have a history of being unlucky. In fact, based on what I’ve gathered alone, you’re probably the unluckiest guy in the world.”
    Benten:“More like the universe…”
Jazz:“I don't even know how it's possible that someone can be born on Friday the 13th AND Butsumetsu at the same time. And during an earthquake to boot.”
Ataru: “Uh, there was some debate on the actual date of Butsumetsu that year by rogue Buddhists and it was acknowledged on Friday the 13th that year. It’s complicated.” Ataru says, rubbing his neck.
Jazz: “Anyways, I think that you know and feel deep down that most girls aren’t going to want to date you.” Jazz continues. I think you know that most will reject you and in some cases violently for their initial perspective of you. I mean, when I first saw you and you tried asking me out I felt some revulsion but I still tried to be nice. Sorry. And sometimes, I think that ignoring their insecurities makes people feel better. But you still think they are right about you just being a lecherous fool deep down so you act accordingly. You choose to keep chasing girls knowing that they will reject and hurt you, because it's easier than considering yourself a loser. So if anything, their rejections just make you more motivated. But as for the part of you enjoying being hit. I’ve talked to your mom and I'm going to assume that she wasn't always very supportive of you growing up. She never tried teaching you or helping you when you made mistakes, she mostly just got annoyed and said she wished she never had you. Even as a child a part of you was drawn to teenage girls because, I think, you were looking for validation from a pretty older woman figure. And that motivates you now. I honestly think that you just enjoy receiving attention from women, and I dont think you care whether they are kissing you or hitting you for doing stupid things. If anything, the fact that you know that the later is more likely encourages you to keep doing stupid things. And I think you even like purposefully setting Lum off by flirting with other girls because you enjoy the thrill of running from and sneaking around her. So-” Jazz holds her arms out and sticks out her chest. “-grope me, I dare you. But just so you know whatever you do I won’t give you the validation you crave. I won’t hurt you and I won’t react positively either. So go ahead.”
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Thanks to Danny calling Lum out on her selfishness and Jazz’s slight manipulations to Ataru both end up becoming better by the end of the fic.
  • Two-Person Love Triangle: Danny and Makoto/Lita are interested in each other. Likewise Danny Phantom and Sailor Jupiter are growing close and both teens civilian identities are attracted to the others superhero identities.
    • Minako/Sailor Venus had a crush on Danny Phantom but gives up quickly after realizing he’s not interested. She gets over him completely when she learns he’s Danny Fenton.
    • Like cannon, Sam also has a crush on Danny which he’s oblivious to and is interested in going out with Lita right now.
  • Took A Level In Bad Ass: Danny and the Sailor Guardians train with each other for a few days and learn to use their powers in interesting ways. They easily dispatch of the mushroom clones of themselves. Danny in particular learns to use his ghostly wail as echo-location, and eh figures out how to morph his ghost energy shields into melee weapons and a thicker batter that can withstand ectoranium energy attacks.
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Aliens, ghosts, yokai and superhuman feats are every day life in Tomobiki.
    • Some of the people watching the broadcast arent too fazed by aliens and ghosts because they experienced similar things in their own manga series.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Played Straight and Zig-Zagged/Averted regarding Lisa Fakuyama and Ryoko Mendo respectively. To ensure that the human race dosnt perish in darkness if Ataru looses the tag game (the crystal ball still shows its a possibility) they plan to release a race of parasitic demons that will bond to humanity and livestock and so they can live in darkness and sell genetically altered bio-luminescent crops. However, Ryoko and her family are more motivated by increasing their already vast wealth and power while Lisa wants to save humanity (with the added bonus of keeping her friend/love-interest Yukinari from leaving earth to a planet that he would be miserable on). Kidnapping Danny and using voodoo dolls to force him to steal shinso blood from Alucard to make themsleves immortal all-powerful vampires was all Ryoko's idea and simply for the sake of power.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Ryuunosuke snaps at Jack and Maddie for attacking Kotatsu-neko just for being a ghost when he wasn't doing anything. This confuses the Fentons since most people are afraid of ghosts back at Amity Park.
    • Tucker calls Sam out on trying to sabotage Danny and Lita’s relationship by revealing parts of Danny’s dark secret. He tells her it’s her own fault for not making a move sooner. Sam feels ashamed afterwards.
  • What Have I Done: Danny and Lum when they realize they are responsible for creating the cloud monster that will cover the world in darkness. Lum for using the nemesis crystal and Danny for using his ghost powers on it.
  • World's Strongest Man: Though the Fate Bureau mostly have faith that the Oni military can handle Danny and the Sailor Guardians, they ensure that Lum gets the idea to harness ectoranium and the power of Nemesis for extra precaution. They outright say that Danny Phantom is one of the most powerful beings on the planet.
    • Katsou-Neko is considered by Danny to be the (physically) strongest ghost he's ever seen. Especially given how fast he destroyed a Fenton Thermos from the inside.
    • The Fate Management Bureau CANNOT let Chizuru Aizawa come to Tomobiki!
    • In a flashback, Miyabi Fujisaki (a shinso/alpha vampire clone of Alucard/Dracula from Rosarion + Vampire II) easily defeats Vlad Plasmius. Both for his ability to utilize yoki/spirit energy in his body after Vlad tries overshadowing him, possessing greater strength and speed and due to using his demonic aura to touch Vlad and keep him from phasing.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: Inaba desperately wants to stay this way. In the sequel he goes to Danny and his friends to find a way to make sure Mighty Atom/Astro-Boy comes into existence WITHOUT making sure Tobio Tenma dies first.
  • The Worf Effect: Ryoko’s use of voodoo dolls allows her to restrain all the guardians and Danny at once.
  • Worf Had the Flu: Danny Phantom and the combined power of the Sailor Guardians are both forces to be reckoned with. However, due to the Oni race being a very advanced species, and each member having their own unique power, they have the technology to counter nearly every power imaginable. Luna and Artemis even warns the Sailor Scouts to avoid conflict with them if they can.
    • Though Danny easily overpowers Lum when he fights her directly, she gets the upper hand on him when she instructs her ship to restrain him with a tractor beam and uses a "Molecular Densifier" ray to make him unable to phase, fly or move.

    Phantom and a Vampire
  • Abusive Parents: Kokoa and Kahlua’s mother, just like in cannon. After her death her soul is now in hell being tormented in the seven circles and forced to be a mutilated slave to a sadistic fury.
    • “Ms. Lenz” (Alma from Attack on Titan) was a neglectful parent at best who hated her daughter and tried to sell her out so she could live. After her death her soul went to hell.
  • Bad Boss: Mada to her maid “Ms. Lenz”. Though she does this intentionally because she’s disgusted by her treatment of her daughter when she was alive making it more of a case of Asshole Victim.
  • Canon Foreigner: Kotaro Ijoin appeared as an original character in the Rosario + Vampire anime and was later revealed to be an alternate form of Kokoa’s transformer bat Kou. Here Kotaro is his own person and is an actual incubus that Kurumu is inlove with after moving on from Tsukune. He is also much nicer than his anime counterpart.
  • Constructed World: Danny Phantom, Sailor Moon, Urusei Yatsura, Monster High (gen 1) and Rosario + Vampire all exist in this world. As do all the animes from the previous story including: Ranma 1/2, Lovely Complex and Squid Girl.
    • The “Attack on Titan” universe is shown to exist in a dimension parallel to this one.
      • But everyone who dies in either dimension gets sent to the same afterlife that exists in between.
    • Mada reveals that besides Hell and the Netherworld (where she lives) there are many different demon world. In some of them humans are considered myths, referencing “Welcome to Demon School Iruma-Kun”.
  • Fate Worse than Death: Happens to sinners after they die and go to hell. While they wait for their sevtence they are subjected to the stereotypical fire, brimstone and pitchforks by demons. Then their soul is split up into seven pieces and each part is sent to one of the seven circles where they face a punishment atleast partly related to the seven deadly sins. And each part of the soul is still connected to each other so they feel each others pain. An eighth piece of the soul can also be bought by a demon to use how they please.
    • Mada was given “Ms. Lenz” as a maid for a birthday present from her fury second-cousin Camala. Ms. Lenz, who was a Dirty Coward when alive begs Mada to throw her to the Ammits (which will cause Cessation of Existence) because of how miserable she is being abused by Mada while the rest of her suffers in the seven circles.
    • Gyokuro Shuzen is also subject to this by Mada’s cousin Camala.
    • Dan Phantom, after being destroyed by Clockwork, was sent to hell and had a piece of him bought by Mada to be her “sparring partner”. He is trapped in an empty mirror world unable to leave all alone until Mada shows up to fight with him. Which results in her pounding him. While Mada also placed a spell on him to keep him from feeling the pain his other seven pieces are feeling Dan is terrified of the idea of Mada removing it, since he knows how the rest of him is suffering.
  • Hidden Depths: Mada, though initially comes off as just a violent brute who has Fantastic Racism against ghosts (she especially considers Danny a freak for being a halfa), turns out to have a few descent sides.
    • Turns out she has genuine friends that she enjoys hanging out with.
    • Though a Blood Knight who enjoys fighting, unlike Dan who is The Sociopath who just enjoys causing destruction and killing for the sake of it, then turns scared when overpowered, Mada honestly enjoys a good fight and doesn’t mind getting hurt as long as she thinks she can improve later. She also expresses distaste with fighting those who can’t put up a good fight or causing destruction For the Evulz.
    • She is also shown to genuinely love her parents and despises those who treat their kids badly and are Dirty Coward’s. Which are all the reasons she abuses her maid Ms. Lenz.
      • Mada also tells her that she intends to make her apologize to her daughter when she eventually dies.
  • Malicious Mis Naming: “Ms. Lenz” is actually Alma (the mother of Historia Reiss) from “Attack on Titan”. But Mada calls her that because her daughter had to change her name to “Christa Lenz” and because Mada hates her so much she doesn’t think she deserves to be called by her actual name.
  • Official Couple: Danny and Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter. Moka and Tsukune. Even his former harem members have found new boyfriends.
  • True Companions: Though Tsukune’s former harem have found new boyfriends after accepting Tsukune only has eyes for Moka, they still all greatly care for him and vice-versa, just as friends now.
  • Took a Level in Badass:
    • Danny’s older here so he’s gotten bigger, stronger, more powerful and developed a new ability. He’s also learned judo.
    • Tsukune has been training with Issa Shuzen with Moka and both are better combatants and have better control of their powers.
      • Moka in particular is shown to be able to use the wealth of power as efficiently as Kahlua.
    • Mada, the asura that Danny fought in Tomobiki, was already a juggernaut that he required the use of an Ofuda and Ecto-Dejecto to barely defeat. However, after purchasing Dan Phantoms soul to use as a “sparing partner” her skill, power and strength grows to the point that she can beat him in fifteen minutes. She admits she was pumbled by him many times before reaching this state though.
