    Hulk

Hulk / Robert Bruce Banner

"Huh? What this?"
Voiced by: Gary Martin

  • Demoted to Extra: Unlike Lego Marvel Superheroes and Lego Avengers, Hulk isn't as playable and he's introduced in the story late.
  • Dual Wielding: Ragnarok Hulk wields massive examples of a war-hammer and a battle-axe in tandem, giving a bit more heft to his attacks compared to normal Hulk using punches.
  • Head Butting Heroes: He and Thor are constantly attacking one another behind the other Avengers' backs.
  • Hulking Out: Wouldn't be the Hulk without a rage-induced transformation. Regular Hulk has Banner dropping to the ground while enraged as first his limbs, then his head, and finally his torso transform, while Ragnarok Hulk has Ragnarok Banner try to lift his oversized weapons to force himself into a fury.
  • In a Single Bound: Can jump ridiculous distances.
  • Made a Slave: When the Avengers find him, the Hulk's been dragged into the Sakaar arena.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Keeps smashing stuff during "I Sphinx We Have a Problem", accidentally splitting up the party.
  • No-Sell: As a big-fig gamma mutate, he's immune to both toxins and fire.
  • Regenerating Health: His gamma mutation has an accelerated Healing Factor as part of the regular powerset.
  • Shockwave Clap: Both versions of Hulk can create shockwaves by clapping, regular Hulk making a strong one through a Charge Attack while Ragnarok Hulk makes a weak one by slapping his weapons together.
  • You Don't Look Like You: He has olive green skin and black hair when he's a slave of the Red King, like the MCU Hulk. When he is freed, he gains the bright green skin and dark green hair of the comics Hulk.

    Captain America

Captain America / Steven "Steve" Rogers

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapshot_33_2.png
"Because we worked as a team, Kang. That's why we won."
Voiced by: Josh Cowdery

  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Gets corrupted by The Presence in the second level. He gets better though.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He makes sure that two HYDRA mooks have parachutes before he kicks them off a plane.
  • Evil Doppelgänger: One Palette Swap of him is Secret Empire Captain America, who is actually a HYDRA-loyal copy that pretended to be the original that eventually took the name Hydra Supreme, and as such has absolutely zero gameplay or animation differences.
  • The Hero: Ultimately, he is the one Kang sees as a true Worthy Opponent.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: His main weapon. It deflects attack and is now properly used to extinguish fires rather than temporarily. The Protect part comes into play when Kang unleashes a devastating attack which knocks out his entire team and leaves him the only one standing, since he blocked it with his shield.
  • Older Than He Looks: Chronologically, he should be pushing 100.
  • Regenerating Health: One result of Soldier's Spirit is constant health restoration.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: He gives a short one to Kang in the final level when fighting him, saying he talks too much.
  • Super-Soldier: The original Super-Soldier of Marvel Comics.
  • Worthy Opponent: Kang comes to consider him this, which is why he's the one who gets to fight the Conqueror in the final level.

    Thor

Thor Odinson

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapshot_48.png
"What can this pompous fool pit against us that we cannot best?"
Voiced by: Ronan Summers

  • Adaptational Angst Downgrade: Two-fold, due to the game taking inspiration from the comics and the MCU films.
    • In the storyline "The Kang Dynasty", Thor responded to the fight with the Presence with going into a long, sullen funk over the possibility his friends could die, until Firebird called him out on essentially being full of wangst.
    • In Ragnarok, Thor goes through a Trauma Conga Line including finding Loki had replaced Odin, finding Odin only for him to then immediately die, Mjolnir getting destroyed by Hela, his friends in the Warrior Three being unceremoniously killed off, stranded and enslaved on Sakaar, and then having to destroy Asgard just to stop Hela's rampage. Fortunately for this Thor, none of those things happen to him.
  • Butt-Monkey: He and the Hulk spend their time together trying to beat each other up, with Thor usually on the losing end.
  • Composite Character: Thor's appearance is taken from Thor: Ragnarok, particularly his short brunette hair, which can be seen when he's not wearing his helmet.
  • Charged Attack: As with Super Heroes and Avengers, Thor has to build up his lightning before he can actually shoot any.
  • Digging Yourself Deeper: After accidentally nailing She-Hulk in the face with Mjolnir, he apologizes for mistaking her for a "hideous swamp creature". "I mean, obviously a very attractive hideous swamp creature... Have you done something with your hair? It looks very swampy, uh, swanky..." Thor is glad when Man-Thing appears from behind him, because now he has something to take his mind off that massive faux pas.
  • Regenerating Health: His Asgardian biology grants a Healing Factor for constant health regeneration.
  • Shock and Awe: He's Thor! God of lightning!
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: Taking after his Thor: Ragnarok design, while mostly clothed he completely lacks sleeves, only really having a left bracer, which highlights him being a tough and boisterous Asgardian god.
  • Thinking Up Portals: By calling upon the power of the Bifrost, he can have Heimdall remotely create wormholes for traveling between two portal spots or vents.
  • Thunder Hammer: As usual, he wields the hammer Mjolnir for pummeling enemies and generating electricity.
  • Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe: Speaks with the faux-Elizabethan English that his comic counterpart favoured up until the mid-00s.
  • Your Costume Needs Work: Play as him while walking around Nueva York, and some citizens may mistake the guy for a cosplayer in a convincing Thor costume.

    Spider-Man

Spider-Man / Peter Parker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapshot_43.png
"Now that's what I call a boombox."
Voiced by: Martin Sherman

  • Cheap Costume: One collectible alternate outfit for him is the "home-made suit", which is him wearing a red hoodie spray-painted with the spider symbal, a red sock-mask with goggles, light-blue sweatpants and sweatshirt, red boots, and dark gloves, all of which to provide the image of Spider-Man before he got the funds or resources to create a proper suit.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: One collectible alternate outfit is the Symbiote suit, being primarily black and shooting gooey black organic webbing, but unlike when the symbiote possessed Eddie Brock and became the villainous Venom, Symbiote Spider-Man is still just as heroic as he usually is, just cockier from the power-high it gives him.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted, he's not the only spider-being in this game, and partners up with Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir, and Spider-Man 2099 at different points.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He tries fleeing the minute Shao-Lao the Undying shows up. Ms. Marvel drags him back into the fight.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: He fires webbing over Doctor Octopus' mouth after defeating him just to shut the good doctor up.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Gameplay-wise, Peter now has the ability to hack technology-related items. Storyline wise, he's dropped the angst from the first game entirely, and leads Avengers teams without anyone complaining or objecting.

    Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel / Carol Danvers

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapshot_47.png
"Nova squadron, light it up!"
Voiced by: Kate O'Sullivan

    Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange / Stephen Strange

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapshot_44.png
"Doctor Strange, at your service!"
Voiced by: Ramon Tikaram

  • Ascended Extra: In the first game he's only a secondary character in a bonus mission (albeit the main focus of it as a Badass in Distress), while Avengers only gave him a sidequest in the basegame, though he did get a DLC to promote his first MCU movie. This game gives him a massively boosted base-game role as the Big Good of the plot with plenty of levels where he's relevant to both story and gameplay.
  • Big Good: Has the most presence in the plot, such as having his own level dedicated to finding the Book of Vishanti to fix together broken Plot Coupons, requires the player to protect him from Kang's forces and is the only Avenger to survive Kang's time-stopping attack.
  • Discard and Draw: He no longer has his Teleportation powers or tech-access skills from the previous two games, but in exchange he possesses a much more extensive repertoire of magical abilities.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: Magic, physical combat, he's really good at both.
  • Good Counterpart: Doctor Strange can be considered Kang's heroic Foil, as he too also can manipulate time, but uses it for good.
  • Mind Control: Doctor Strange is capable of taking over people's bodies and using them as a puppet.
  • Mundane Utility: Uses his time powers to repair a wrecked bookshelf at his sanctum.
  • No-Sell: Turns out that the Eye of Agamotto is somehow able to completely nullify Kang's timestop powers, to which he then alters the portal Kang used for the attack to hit him with Eson.
  • Time Master: With help from the Eye of Agamotto he can manipulate time. It later turns out to have another temporal benefit by making him immune to Kang's own time powers.

    Wasp

Wasp / Janet van Dyne

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapshot_39_3.png
"Spotted a crime taking place in your area."
Voiced by: Skye Bennett

  • Distaff Counterpart: Her hero identity is a female variant to Hank Pym.
  • Flight: She can do this whenever she shrinks.
  • The Leader: She's the mission control and commander of the super hero group.
  • Mission Control: She serves as the designated story objective director and ambient crime notifier during free-roaming.
  • Out of Focus: She's not playable that much because of her role as the leader.
  • Sizeshifter: Janet shrinks to a tiny size whenever she flies. Also, unlike the previous two games, she can shrink while on the ground to fit into smaller places.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Girly Girl to Captain Marvel's tomboy.

    Giant-Man

Ant-Man/Giant-Man/Yellowjacket / Henry "Hank" Pym

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapshot_49_6.png
"Time to think big!"
Voiced by: Dar Dash

  • Badass in Distress: Winds up getting captured by Yellowjacket, his evil / insane future self, and has to be freed by A-Bomb, Wonder Man and the Hulk.
  • Can't Take Criticism: Implied. He gets defensive when Captain America thinks about checking the calculations again.
  • The Ditz: Downplayed. Although a genius, he does some inconsiderate things throughout the game towards Iron Man, such as accidentally injuring him by dropping a huge screwdriver on him, destroying his suit by walking backwards (even though Iron Man warned him about it), talking with his mouth full of food which landing on him, etc.
  • Evil Doppelgänger: His future self, Yellowjacket, comes from a time when he entered a crazy Knight Templar phase, believing he's the only true "hero" and every other hero was an obstacle to him.
  • Out of Focus: He's only playable in between levels 17 and 18.
  • Palette Swap: His classic version and Legacy Character Scott Lang not only have the same movesets as him, but also the same fighting and idle animations, only having different appearances and Scott having slightly higher Voice Grunting.
  • Sizeshifter: Hank can shrink to a tiny size, and grow to giant size. He spends most of the game gigantic, only shrinking down to normal height so that he can fix some technology on the rooftop with Tony.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Despite only being playable between Level 17 and 18 of the main story, he is the one who figures out Knowhere's EMP potential; the key needed to disable Kang's Shield, and helps Tony in constructing a portal to allow Knowhere through to Cronopolis.

    Iron Man

Iron Man / Anthony "Tony" Stark

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapshot_40_7.png
"Little Tony's place is always open. Even in apocalypses."
Voiced by: John Schwab

  • Butt-Monkey: Is usually the subject of this, mostly due to Giant-Man, as he got hit in the head by a giant screwdriver from him, had his food splattered on him, etc.
  • Demoted to Extra: Compared to Lego Marvel Superheroes and Lego Avengers, especially. Tony's armor is damaged after the second level, and he doesn't come back into play until toward the finale.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: Tony has a surprisingly nonchalant reaction to Attuma ramming him and letting water into his suit. You'd think he'd be more worried about drowning.
  • Midseason Upgrade: Starts off in an armor matching his comic incarnation's 2016 model, and switches out to the Mark 47 later on.
  • Pals with Jesus: He takes Heimdall on a tour of New York while they're locating the Nexus shards.

    Black Panther

Black Panther / T'Challa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapshot_50.png
"Stand and fight, you cowards!"

The king of Wakanda.

  • Art Evolution: His appearance is based on the way he looks in Captain America: Civil War, as opposed to the last game, where he looked like his classic comics self.
  • Ascended Extra: From side-mission character in Superheroes and not-even-in-the-main-game in Avengers to a dedicated level of his own here.
  • Expy: Gameplay-wise, he replaces the role of Wolverine in the story.
  • Idiot Ball: When he finally has Klaw face-to-face, he lets the man fix his sound weapon, then leaps dramatically at him, leading him to get blasted. He even admits it wasn't a sensible decision afterward.
  • Not So Stoic: Is much, much more cheerful than almost any other version of T'Challa out there.
  • Panthera Awesome: Wakanda does have a panther as their national animal.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Shares this with Shuri.
  • Sophisticated as Hell: After including a few ancient proverbs in his interactions with Spider-Man and crew, when they have to break some Wakandan equipment to progress forward, he says, "Sometimes the way forward is..." Spider-Man says "Let me guess, the way back?" and T'Challa replies, "I was going to say, 'blowing stuff up.'"
  • Took a Level in Cheerfulness: Related to the above, his depictions in Super Heroes and Avengers had him like his stoic comic-book incarnation. Here, he's more jovial (as in, he actually is cheerful at all).
  • You Killed My Father: Frequently clashes with Klaw because of this.

    She-Hulk

She-Hulk / Jennifer "Jen" Walters

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapshot_51.png
"If there's anymore clearing to be done, count me in."

Relative of Bruce Banner who required a blood transfusion from him. Resulted in being Cursed with Awesome.

  • Amazonian Beauty: While her overall musculature is lost translating into a mini-fig, she's still a strong, buff, and pretty woman who at least once has her beauty commented on, though that person calling her "doll" was something she took exception to.
  • Amusing Injuries: She shrugs off Thor's hammer to her face. What's even funnier is Thor digging himself deeper afterwards.
  • Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: A super strong fighter, and also has the overconfidence to match it.
She-Hulk: These bad guys just don't learn. Maybe I should threaten to rip up their comics.
  • Ascended Extra: Has a prominent role in this game as a frequent storyline member, a massive improvement over being an optional unlock and side-quest giver in previous games.
  • Berserk Button: Calling her "doll" heavily ticks her off.
  • Boisterous Bruiser: She's playful and friendly to her teammates and loves fighting. Best exemplified when she gets stuck in a mine cart in her eagerness to attack Klaw, only to suddenly reappear several missions later using the cart to gleefully jump through portals. And then immediately fights Man-Thing.
  • Distaff Counterpart: As her name signifies, she's a female version of the Hulk.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Constantly does this as part of her character without any knowledge of the wall itself. Examples include offhandedly remembering she announced collecting a collectible before, suggesting why she and Team Spider Man had to do most of the work in Alchemax because of "some ideas guy" and shortening her arrival quote.
  • Leotard of Power: Still wears her iconic sleeveless and leg-exposing leotard that's form-fitting enough to emphasize her major abs, though this being LEGO, her sex appeal isn't very prominent.
  • No-Sell: She's immune to toxic goo and gas, a handy side-effect of being a Gamma Mutate.
  • Regenerating Health: Having gotten her gamma power after a Superhuman Transfusion from Hulk, She-Hulk also possesses a potent health-restoring Healing Factor.
  • Say My Name: "KLAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!!!" Sadly, all that gets her is being dumped in a mine cart and escorted off the premises.
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: As usual, her Leotard of Power completely lacking sleeves does well to highlight her Boisterous Bruiser mentality.
  • Super-Strength: Being a Hulk naturally grants her immense physical strength, even with her being much smaller than the males.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Tomboy to Ms. Marvel's Girly Girl.

    Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel / Kamala Khan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapshot_52.png
"Nice, but I guess it’d be worth more in its original packaging."
Voiced by: Rebecca Kiser

Shapeshifting hero with Inhuman heritage. Constantly writes fanfiction.

  • Ascended Extra: In Marvel's Avengers she's just the subject of two side-missions. Here, she's a main character.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Frequently mentions fanfiction she's been writing, alongside gushing over every other hero she teams up with.
  • Consummate Professional: Despite having a tendency to get distracted, after Spider-Man accidentally webs everyone when startled by Black Panther, she's visibly annoyed and tell everyone to focus on the mission.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Surprisingly, she has a few snarky moments, like when her friends mistake Hammerhead's voice for hers.
Kamala: Oh, yeah... 'cos that totally sounded like me!
  • Expy: Gameplay-wise, she replaces the role of Mr. Fantastic in the story.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Downplayed. Everyone gets annoyed by her tendency to get starstruck and excited by everything, but she's still considered an ally.
  • Genki Girl: Is a very energetic girl that squees at mostly everything.
  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": She's near-constantly giddily acting out of her mind being an Ascended Fangirl fighting alonside all her beloved heroes.
  • Not Quite Flight: She can use her powers to stretch herself out, hovering a short distance.
  • Primary-Color Champion: Red scarf, yellow zigzag, blue outfit.
  • Regenerating Health: Except when embiggened, her health regenerates near-instantly.
  • Sizeshifter: Kamala can "embiggen" herself to become giant, or shrink down to a smaller size to infiltrate circuit boards.
  • Social Media Before Reason: She can and will take a selfie of herself even if she's being attacked.
  • Super-Strength: She's capable of smashing cracked walls and ripping off strength handles.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Girly Girl to She-Hulk's Tomboy.

Close Allies of The Avengers

    A-Bomb

A-Bomb / Richard "Rick" Jones

  • Hulking Out: Can shift from Rick Jones to his A-Bomb form and back again.
  • Invisibility: Rick can turn invisible in both human and A-Bomb form.

    Agent Coulson

Agent Phillip "Phil" Coulson

Voiced by: Shenoah Allen

    Black Widow

Black Widow / Natalia Romanova / Natasha Romanoff

  • Badass in Distress: During her mission, winds up getting possessed by a symbiote.
  • Badass Normal: Has no superpowers, but she's still a capable fighter through her martial arts training.
  • Demoted to Extra: She doesn't appear in any storyline missions, with the justification that she and Hawkeye have been busy fighting crime across Chronopolis with Coulson.
  • Guns Akimbo: Her choice of weaponry is two guns for rapid-fire shooting.
  • Invisibility Cloak: Still has her cloaking tech from previous games.
  • She-Fu: Her melee combat involves lots of spins and flips while swinging about her Shock Sticks.
  • Shock Stick: Retains the electroshock batons from her Age of Ultron variant in Marvel's Avengers that can be used to shock enemies and charge generators.

    Clea

Clea Strange

  • The Archmage: As Sorceress Supreme of the Dark Dimension, she's just as magically powerful and skilled as Doctor Strange.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: She's the daughter of Umar and niece of Dormammu, and possesses the same Dark Dimension powers as them, but unlike her blood relatives who utilize their powers for evil, she uses those powers to face them and act as a force for good alongside Doctor Strange.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: While not on the level of Strange in overall martial prowess, Clea can still compliment her mystical powers with hand-to-hand combat, particularly through magical Enhanced Punches
  • Purple Is Powerful: Her outfit is as prominently purple as usual, representing her status as an immensely powerful sorceress.

    Cosmo

Cosmo the Space Dog

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20200505_153633_youtube.jpg

  • Adaptational Comic Relief: Cosmo's dog side is played up a lot more than in the comics, where Cosmo is very serious about his job as Knowhere's Chief of Security.
  • Blatant Lies: Those items he sends the heroes to fetch are definitely vital equipment for the running and maintenance of Knowhere, not dog toys. Cosmo has no idea they can be used for recreational purposes, honest.
  • Glass-Shattering Sound: He can woof with enough force to break glass.
  • Heroic Dog: Despite his general doggy attitude, he's still a force for good, especially how he helps in stopping Kang
  • Just a Stupid Accent: Speaks with an intentionally ludicrous Russian accent.
  • Mind over Matter: Cosmo uses his telekinetic power to build things.

    Falcon

The Falcon / Samuel "Sam" Wilson

  • Badass Normal: Being based on his MCU version, he neither Speaks Fluent Animal nor has inherent Flight, but he combines his Jet Pack with highly skilled martials arts and marksmanship, along with being a borderline Gadgeteer Genius who's smart enough to create both the pack and a bird-like drone, that lets him keep up with the enhanced Captain America regardless.
  • Flight: His winged Jet Pack allows him to fly through the air both quickly and with high maneuverability.
  • "Get Back Here!" Boss: His unlock quest involves some aerial combat training, so despite not being a boss enemy, the quest still involves chasing him around and beating him up.
  • Grappling-Hook Pistol: He has a cable gun for pulling on grapple points.
  • Guns Akimbo: He wield two guns in combat.

    Hawkeye

Hawkeye / Clinton "Clint" Barton

Voiced by: Dar Dash

  • Aloof Archer: While taking more after his goofier comics self in personality, he's still somewhat stern and aloof like a classic archer.
  • Badass Normal: Makes up for his lack of superpowers by being a highly skilled and athletic archer with a bunch of Trick Arrows
  • Demoted to Extra: As with Black Widow, he goes from being a main character in Super Heroes and Marvel's Avengers to a one-off quest character.
  • Nerf: Downplayed. While he keeps his explosive and sonar arrows, he no longer has the thermo arrows.

    Heimdall

Heimdall

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20200505_151601_youtube.jpg
Voiced by: Colin McFarlane

Overseer of the Bifrost.

  • Alien Arts Are Appreciated: He wants to watch Cats while he's staying in New York.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Is brought by Thor to locate the Nexus Shards.
  • Cutting the Knot: His infinite sight is brought up by Thor after hearing Wasp state that looking for the Nexus Shards would take months. Heimdall takes only a few seconds.
  • Heroes Gone Fishing: After he plays his part in the story, he spends the rest of the game with Tony touring Manhattan.
  • Irony: His quest which features beating up Mooks has him with his back behind all the action despite his infinite sight.
  • Taking the Bullet: He shoves "Odin" out of the way of a falling pillar, which inadvertently reveals the All-Father's been replaced by Loki.

    Iron Fist

Iron Fist / Daniel "Danny" Rand

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20200505_022028_youtube.jpg
Voiced by: Martin Sherman

The Immortal Iron Fist.

  • Badass Boast: "I am the Iron Fist. I hold back the storm when no-one else can."
  • Broken Bridge: Because the Defenders need to clean up Manhattan Noir, Team Spider Man take a detour here to enlist his help at K'un-Lun.
  • The Chosen One: In order to be the Iron Fist, you must fight Shao-Lao the Undying and win. Then, you must be worthy of gaining the power of the Iron Fist.
  • Kamehame Hadoken: Alongside granting Enhanced Punch capabilities, the power of the Iron Fist also lets him fire chi-based Hand Blasts and beams, which have the added ability of charging chi dragons.
  • Ki Manipulation: Danny's power of the Iron Fist involves manipulating the life energy of the universe to empower and strengthen himself.
  • Regenerating Health: The power of the Dragon grants him continuous health recovery
  • Supernatural Martial Arts: He supplements his martial arts skills with Ki Manipulation in the forms of both an Enhanced Punch and a Kamehame Hadoken

    Nick Fury

Nicholas "Nick" Fury

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20200505_153908_youtube.jpg
Voiced by: Chris Jarman

  • Badass Normal: Being based on the Samuel Jackson version of him, he lacks the original's superhuman abilities like being The Ageless, but he's still quite capable in a fight.
  • Composite Character: A variant, where he combines the qualities of both versions of him in Marvel's Avengers, having a regular gun for rapid shooting and turning the bazooka into grenades for silver-object destroying.
  • Demoted to Extra: Fury only appears in the storyline at the beginning and end of the games, compared to his role as the Big Good in the first game and Marvel's Avengers.
  • Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: He really shouldn't have dared Kang to do his worst. Now he's lost his Helicarrier.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: He consolidates his bazooka version from Marvel's Avengers into being able to throw timed grenades for silver-brick destroying

    Quake

Quake / Daisy Johnson

    Shuri

Shuri

Voiced by: Susan Wokoma

Black Panther's half-sister.

    Stingray

Stingray / Walter Newell

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20220809_085156_youtube.jpg

    Vormund

Vormund / Markus Ettlinger / Hauptmann Deutschland

  • Adaptational Wimp: The primary power of Vormund is having the ability to absorb and repurpose kinetic energy, whether offensively or to boost his physical status, but here he isn't even able to shoot concussive Hand Blasts, at most having enhanced durability through a Healing Factor.
  • Fights Like a Normal: Despite his canonical kinetic energy absorption and redirection powers, the only thing they're used for is a Healing Factor, while in combat he just uses slightly-enhanced punches and hand grenades.
  • Grappling-Hook Pistol: He has a cable gun to use for latching onto grapple points.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: His sole ranged attack involves tossing grenades to destroy silver objects.

    War Machine

War Machine / James "Rhodey" Rhodes

  • Dark Is Not Evil: The War Machine armor has a pretty strong Red and Black and Evil All Over aesthetic, in contrast to Iron Man's bright red and gold, but James is still a very heroic and friendly guy.
  • Moveset Clone: He has the exact same moveset as Iron Man, and pretty similar armor, but the presence of his shoulder cannon gives him a decently different appearance and animations.
  • Ornamental Weapon: That shoulder cannon of his has absolutely no part in his combat arsenal, not even to shoot his rockets or lasers since they come from his wrists and palms just like Tony, with it only adding to his idle animations.
  • Powered Armor: Like Tony, he wears a suit of mechanized armor that can fly.

    White Tiger

White Tiger / Ava Ayala

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20200505_150430_youtube.jpg
Voiced by: Skye Bennett

  • Aloof Ally: She acts as a snarky reluctant ally to Spider-Man when they team up.
  • Animal-Themed Superbeing: Her skillset comes from a tiger god, and her abilities are tiger-related, such as tiger-like agility, Super-Senses, and Wolverine Claws for digging, cutting, and climbing.
  • Not So Stoic: White Tiger practically squees when she, Kamala and Spider-Man defeat Dr. Octopus, but manages to regain her composure shortly after.

    Winter Guard

Winter Guard (Crimson Dynamo / Dimitri Bukharin, Ursa Major / Mikhail Ursus, Darkstar / Laynia Petrovna, Red Guardian / Alexi Shostakov)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/psx_20190628_130236.jpg

  • Barrier Warrior: Darkstar can concentrate her Darkforce energy into a barrier for blocking attacks and deflecting beams
  • Bears Are Bad News: Ursa Major is quite a powerhouse that is not one to be trifled with, but under normal circumstances he's actually Beary Friendly.
  • Boisterous Bruiser: Darkstar enjoys a brawl, and Ursa Major gleefully cracks jokes.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: At the beginning of the game. In Ursa Major's quest, everyone but Ursa winds up brainwashed by the Presence again.
  • Flying Firepower: Darkstar has both Flight and the ability to fire Darkforce energy from her palms, both grounded and airborne.
  • Husky Russkie: They're a Russian counterpart to the Avengers, heavy and guttural voices included (which results in Darkstar having a contralto), and all of them are rougher, tougher, and more boisterous than their American counterparts.
  • Kevlard: Discussed: Ursa Major suggests that his bulky and fatty body is possibly a reason why he was never affected by a post effect from The Presence targeted towards The Winter Guard.
  • Powered Armor: Crimson Dynamo wears a weaponized suit of armor, being as he is a geographic knock-off of Iron Man.
  • Pungeon Master: Ursa Major cracks lose with every bear pun there is as he beats up goons.
  • Stout Strength: Since Ursa Major is a bear, he's both fat and strong.
  • Thinking Up Portals: Darkstar can open up magic portals using her Darkforce powers.
  • West Coast Team: They're pretty much the Russian equivalent to the Avengers.
  • Writing Around Trademarks: Darkstar's a mutant, evidently having gotten around the legal issues by dint of not being greatly associated with the X-Men.

    Winter Soldier

Winter Soldier / James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes

  • Artificial Limbs: He lost his left arm during his near-death experience, so when HYDRA remade him as their personal "immortal warrior", they replaced it with a cybernetic completely metal one, which has the added benefit of enhanced punching and grip strength, though not enough to provide actual Super-Strength.
  • BFG: His main weapon is a very large gun.
  • Demoted to Extra: In Marvel's Avengers he had a major role in the "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" level and a notable side-quest in the Washington DC hub, but here he's just a minor collectible unlockable.
  • Fights Like a Normal: His cybernetic arm slightly enhances his punching strength, but otherwise he's physically just a highly trained and well-muscled man, so he primarily fights with a BFG and plenty of explosives.
  • Grappling-Hook Pistol: His gun has a built-in grappling hook for latching onto grapple points.
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: He started out the heroic Bucky, got brainwashed into the HYDRA-commanded Winter Soldier, then eventually had the brainwashing broken by his buddy Steve and returned to heroism. It's rather unclear if this version of him is before or after his Heel–Face Turn, since he's only a collectible unlockible and his unlock race finishes in the Hydra Empire.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: He has a supply of hand-grenades for blowing up silver objects.

    Wong

Wong

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20200505_150903_youtube.jpg

  • Composite Character: His personality, image, and relationship with Doctor Strange are based on the comics, but his magical prowess comes from the MCU version, since the comics version was more a Badass Normal.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: While not on the level of Sorcer Supreme like Doctor Strange, he still is both a skilled martial artist and wielder of decently potent magic.
  • Servile Snarker: He may be a loyal manservant to Doctor Strange, but that does nothing to stop him from chiding the good doctor on his frequent absent-mindedness.
  • Truer to the Text: He's based more on the comic Wong, who's Doctor Strange's assistant / sidekick, rather than MCU Wong, who's more of an equal.

    The Vision

The Vision

Alternate Avengers

    Bruce Banner (Old West)

Robert Bruce Banner (Old West)

  • Adaptational Wimp: Bruce's "1872" version was just as capable of becoming Hulk as the regular version, but for whatever reason Old West Hulk was left out of his skillset here.
  • Badass Normal: He takes this further than regular Banner, as here he can't even turn into Hulk, so Old West Bruce only has his natural physical skills and high intellect to fight crime, and despite being Hulk-less he's perfectly capable of doing so.
  • Nerd Glasses: To exemplify him being wimpier and nerdier in attitude than regular Bruce, he wears big-rimmed circle glasses.

    Captain America 2099

Captain America 2099 / Roberta Mendez

  • Adaptation Personality Change: A partial variant, in that while her comics incarnation's Split Personalities are aware of each other, in this game neither personality knows the other exists.
  • Flight: She's got a flight-pack, coming in the form of wings.
  • Happily Married: Subverted, as while her civilian identity thinks she's in a happily loving relationship with her husband Harold, in reality he's her handler.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Carries around a stars-and-stripes patterned energy shield, what with being a future Captain America variant and all.
  • Split Personality: Cap and Roberta are separate personalities, Cap being as heroic and determined as old Rogers while Roberta is completely helpless when faced with even the weakest violent criminal, switching between the two by the Trigger Phrases "Avengers Assemble" and "dismissed".
  • The Voiceless: When played as, Cap 2099 doesn't say a word.

    Captain America (Old West)

Captain America (Old West) / Steven "Steve" Rogers

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20220809_085121_youtube.jpg

  • Composite Character: While his backstory is taken from the 1872 series, his costume is actually taken from the Captain America's Bicentennial Battles one-shot from the '70s.
  • Domino Mask: In place of a proper fully-encompassing mask, he wears a thin blue cloth with eye-holes across his face to compliment his hat.
  • Knows the Ropes: As a cowboy sheriff, he of course possesses a lasso for both wrangling up criminals and latching onto grapple points.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: While not quite as tough as the shields carried by other Captains, due to the lack of vibranium and adamantium to make it with, his shield is still plenty good for protecting him nonetheless.
  • Meaningful Appearance: A cowboy Captain America wouldn't be complete without a personalized classic stetson, and he definitely delivers, it being mostly bright blue with a red stripe around the inner rim and a prominent white "A" on the front.

    Captain America (Peggy Carter)

Captain America / Margaret "Peggy" Carter

  • Alternate Self: She's an alternate Peggy Carter that became Captain America instead of Steve due to him dying.
  • Captain Patriotic: Despite being based on the MCU version of Peggy, who is very definitely English (unlike her comic self, who actually is American).
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Same as our Cap, she wields the shield.
  • Point of Divergence: In her timeline, Steve Rogers was killed by Heinz Kruger, so Peggy was given the super-soldier serum.

    Captain Avalon

Captain Avalon / St'Vaan

Voiced by: Josh Cowdery

  • Alternate Self: He's his dimensions' version of Captain America.
  • Hot Blooded Sideburns: He's got some truly impressive whiskers on him.
  • Knightly Sword and Shield: As a Medieval version of the heroic Captain America, he compliments his magical Excelsior with a sharp arming sword, which allows him to hit foes more quickly and cut down vines in conjuction with blocking attacks.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Naturally, as an alternate Captain America, he wields a shield that can deflect attacks, extinguish fires, and be thrown like a boomerang, only his is a magical shield called "Excelsior".

    Cap-Wolf

Cap-Wolf / Steven "Steve" Rogers

  • Animal Jingoism: The player mentioning either cats or pigs gets a Furry Reminder out of him regarding hating cats and wanting to eat pigs, before he forces himself to refocus on beating bad guys.
  • Blessed with Suck: The presence of the Super Serum in Steve allowed him to retain his sanity and avoid any violent urges while gaining all the strengths of a werewolf, but becoming a monster that is shunned by the public has resulted in him feeling depressedly isolated.
  • Horrifying Hero: Being a monstrously hairy, fang-toothed, Hulk Speak-using Wolf Man isn't a very good image for conversing with locals about info on bad guys, requiring the player to talk with people in his place.
  • Hulk Speak: Cap-Wolf have difficulty with grammar. Not entirely in control of own faculties.
  • In a Single Bound: Combining the physical enhancements of the Super Serum with the inherent leg strength of a werewolf allows Cap-Wolf to leap incredible heights.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Even with the mentality of a wolf, he's still skilled at using his shield for blocking attacks and throwing at distant objects.
  • Our Werewolves Are Different: Cap-Wolf not feral. Still able to speak. Not have regenerating health like regular Cap. Actually created by chemical injection, not natural werewolf.
  • Verbal Tic: Often breaks sentences to growl, woof, or howl.
  • The Voiceless: Only does Voice Grunting when played as.

    Greenskyn Smashtroll

Greenskyn Smashtroll

  • All Trolls Are Different: Being a variant of Hulk, he takes after the D & D model of a big, green monster with Super-Strength, an insane Healing Factor, and a predilection towards destroying things in a rampage, though he also takes from Hulk the ability to No-Sell fire and toxins a.k.a. acid, two things that are usually a weakness for trolls. As for him specifically, he's a decently eloquent speaker and capable of both understanding how he affects people and feeling remorse for his actions, something not especially common in troll characters.
  • Alternate Self: He's his reality's version of the Hulk, albeit possessed of better diction than most Hulks are known for.
  • What Did I Do Last Night?: His quest involves finding out what he did the night before, and apologizing to the victims.

    Horus

Horus

Voiced by: Colin McFarlane

  • Alternate Self: He's his dimension's counterpart to Thor.
  • Energy Weapon: In contrast to Thor as the God of Lightning letting him shoot the stuff for charging generators, Horus being a sun god instead can shoot heat beams from his axe-staff for melting gold objects.
  • Good Is Not Soft: After the Avengers defeat Loki, he enslaves the trickster to get him fixing the damaged pyramid — and if he slacks off, Horus hits him with a broom.

    Iron Man (Old West)

Iron Man (Old West) / Anthony "Tony" Stark

  • The Blacksmith: This Tony Stark was a blacksmith that forged weapons and armor alongside crafting steam-powered machinery, with the greasy and scratched up smithing apron and heat-handling gloves to emphasize it, and as such his Iron Man suit was created based around that type of handiwork.
  • Fire-Breathing Weapon: The low-scale tech of his suit means his version of Hand Blasts comes from shooting fireballs from his suit's internal engine.
  • Powered Armor: He wouldn't be Tony Stark without a power-granting suit, but living in the Old West where sleek and advanced tech is centuries away. his suit is more like the Mark I, being bulky but strong and lacking Flight capabilities.
  • Shock and Awe: This Tony's suit is powered through steam-powered electricity, and as such can be concentrated into his palms for shooting shocking beams.
  • Steampunk: Being based in a pre-industrial era, this Iron Man is heavily based in steam-powered machinery for his Powered Armor.
  • Super-Strength: His Iron Man suit being bigger and bulkier than the modern-day suit due to constructing it out of old-timey armor, it's also physically tougher and stronger for punching and breaking cracked walls, though since his overall strength doesn't get enhanced due to the lesser tech, he can't rip off green handles.

    Thor (Jane Foster)

Thor / Jane Foster

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20200505_151437_youtube.jpg
"I cannot give up. There must always be a Thor."

  • Ascended Extra: In Marvel's Avengers she was just a collectible unlockable, while here she has a prominent playable and speaking role in a full level.
  • Distaff Counterpart: She's a female successor to Thor.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Her left hand is covered with a glove, while her right isn't.
  • I Choose to Stay: After fighting Surtur, she stays behind to deal with him when he comes back.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: The game makes no effort to disguise who this Thor is.
  • Moveset Clone: Was granted Thor's abilities by Odin.
  • Timey-Wimey Ball: She's Thor's replacement, having taken the job after Thor went missing with the Avengers... but she has Mjolnir as well, despite Thor still having it when he went missing. Probably best not to think too hard about how that works.

    Throg

Throg / Simon Walterson

Voiced by: Tim Gettys

  • Dark and Troubled Past: His trading card bio mentions the death of his family.
  • Only the Chosen May Wield: Yes, he's a frog. But he's still worthy enough to wield Mjolnir, the same as any other Thor.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Has the ability to speak to and understand regular frogs, which is justified since he is also a frog.
  • Was Once a Man: Got turned into a frog by a witch due to not being able to pay her for being able to see his family one last time.
  • Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe: As a Thor variant, he too speaks with flowery faux-Elizabethan English.
