Plumbers

    Max Tennyson

Max Tennyson

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ben_10_Max_Tennyson_2827.jpg
Ben's and Gwen's Grandfather, as well as probably the most badass human being in the plumbers. A former member of a government organization known as the Plumbers, Max Tennyson serves to Ben and Ruby as a Mentor and Reasonable Authority Figure.

    Verdona Tennyson

Verdona Tennyson

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/verdona.png
Ben and Gwen's grandmother, and a Plumber much like her husband.

    Anna Dombrowski

Anna Dombrowski

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/commission_new_rosie_fin.png
A Plumber / Huntress and adoptive mother of Kylie and Kevin. Anna's weapon is her Osmosian side, which allows her to control paper.
  • Action Mom: She raises two kids back home, and can slice through thousands of vines in a second with her paper.
  • Good Parents: Anna and Sienna put Kevin through therapy and visited him weekly as he recovered.
  • Paper Master: Her powers.
  • The Rival: With Glynda Goodwitch, starting around Ben and Ruby's age involving an incident involving unfairly critiqued writing. She then channeled that spite into her writing and wrote a bestseller, and every book she's published since then has also been a bestseller, which she rubs into Glynda's face whenever she can.
  • Shout-Out: To Yomiko Readman from Read or Die.

    Ari Caro
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/s_7.PNG
An Archemedian nurse at the Bellwood base, and Ceres' girlfriend.
  • Abusive Parents: Implied briefly- Rook makes mention as to why Ari doesn't like her parents.
  • Ambiguously Brown: Has noticeably dark skin, but her ethnicity is never described.
  • Badass Adorable: Ari can casually wrestle an Appoplexian and look cute doing so.
  • Cat Girl: Due to her Archemedian horns.
  • Dance Battler: Does a lot of leg work with her fighting.
  • The Determinator: After her experiences in the Archimedes/Incursean war, no one would have judged her if she switched careers. Instead, she went right back to work, vowing that no other child would die so horribly on her watch.
  • Fiery Redhead: Ari's red hair plays off of her personality very well.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: She helped Ceres develop Doppler with Lev.
  • Jerk With A Heartof Gold: She's a bit bitchy and her bedside manner needs work, but she loves her friends and Ceres and takes the Hippocratic oath very seriously.
  • Playing with Fire: As an Archemedian, Ari can freely manipulate violet flames.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: Her experiences as a war medic were traumatic, especially since she had to amputate limbs without anesthesia multiple times.

    Lev
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sd.PNG
A chaotic Archemedian that works at the Plumbers as Cyber Security.
  • Ambiguously Brown: Has noticeably dark skin.
  • Action Fashionista: Kicks ass and looks fantastic doing so.
  • The Alcoholic: Has shades of this. While he's usually seen sober, he's the first to reach for the alcohol if it's present, and can only truly let down his walls when he's drunk. It's even pointed out that he can only talk about his experiences during the Archimedes/Incursean war while he's blackout drunk, which hints that he occasionally drinks to cope.
  • Artificial Limbs: Has prosthetic legs.
  • Asexual: Confirmed by author.
  • Cat Boy: Due to the Archemedian horns.
  • Chaotic Neutral: He loves chaos but he's mainly out of the action.
  • Coincidence Magnet: Appeared randomly at Beacon during Duped, all because he heard Ben was getting sloshed.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: He helped Ceres develop Doppler with Ari.
  • Jerk With A Heartof Gold: He's chaotic by nature and acts like he doesn't care, but he actually cares A LOT.
  • Playful Hacker: His main job with the Plumbers is cybersecurity and hacking and code-breaking.
  • Playing with Fire: A natural ability as an Archemedian.
  • Stepford Smiler: Given his experiences during the Archimedes/Incursean war, and knowing very well what Ari and Ceres went through, it's no surprise he is this.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Although he and Ceres aren't related by blood, he's often mistaken for her twin because of people assuming this trope.

    Sienna Khan

Sienna Khan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/siennaaaart.jpg
Anna's wife and the other adoptive mother of Kylie and Kevin.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Sienna left this universe's version of the White Fang when Ghira stepped down, and joined the Plumbers with a number of other defectors, instead of leading the more extremist version of the group.
  • Chain Pain: Sienna uses a chain weapon, which she both uses as a whip and wraps around her fist. Both ends have several links of arrowhead-shaped spikes containing Dust crystals, which can be detached and sent flying at her enemies like darts.
  • Good Parents: Anna and Sienna put Kevin through therapy and visited him weekly as he recovered.
  • She-Fu: She frequently made use of acrobatic flips and kicks to compliment her chain whip.

    Azmuth

Azmuth

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/946541_1328618147641_full_6749.jpg
A hundreds years old Galvan (Grey Matter's species) considered as the smartest being in three galaxies, Azmuth created the Omnitrix as a means to allow all species to be in each other shoes and better understand each other, and as by this way promote peace.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: More like a friendly grandpa in Gemstones.
  • Badass Bookworm: Not so much most of the time.
  • Crazy-Prepared: He's called the "First Thinker" by the Galvans because he tries to prepare for every contingency he can think of.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: He did make the Omnitrix.
  • Mad Scientist: Sort of. He's currently more or less a reasonable scientist, but he still tends to be... eccentric, to say the least.
  • The Watcher: He can follow Ben's use of the Omnitrix on regular basis through elements inside the Omnitrix.
  • World's Smartest Man: Azmuth is considered the brightest mind in three to five galaxies and sometimes even the universe. He's a Galvan, a species already known for Super-Intelligence, and he's the brightest of them all, to where they named him First Thinker.

    Blukic
An utterly incompetent idiot of a Galvan at the Rushmore Base.

Hunters and Huntresses

    Taiyang Xiao Long

Taiyang Xiao Long

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/taiyang_xiao_long_rwby.png
Ruby and Yang's father, and probably the best dad in the series.
  • Amicable Exes: His split with Raven was much more amicable here, and they're still on good terms.
  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: The man who taught Yang her brutal, bare-knuckled fighting style, is built like a brick house, is at least as skilled as his daughter Yang, has a tattoo on one arm and a scarf tied around the other. He's also a great father!
  • Cartwright Curse: Both of his relationships with his daughters' mothers ended with his significant other either vanishing or dying.
  • Eccentric Mentor: While he's a bit of a nut, he's also an excellent teacher to Yang.
  • Heroic BSoD: Losing his first love and then Summer, his second wife, caused him to "shut down" as Yang described it for an unknown period of time- long enough that Yang effectively had to take over in raising Ruby. Thankfully it seems that he's recovered, and Yang doesn't hold a grudge in the present day.
  • Meaningful Name: One translation of "Taiyang" is "Yang Senior". His eldest daughter is one of the show's main characters and is introduced to the audience long before he is introduced. Her name is Yang.
  • Parental Neglect: According to Yang, Taiyang 'shut down' and was so busy at Signal that Yang had to raise Ruby for an unspecified amount of time. At some time he did return to being their father, but Yang is still carrying the psychological scars from that time.
  • Perma-Stubble: Much like Qrow, Taiyang has stubble on his face, and like Qrow, was clean-shaven in the picture of team STRQ. Unlike Qrow, whose stubble makes up part of his lack of concern for appearance, Taiyang's is meant to give him a definite fatherly image.
  • Play-Along Prisoner: When he's kidnapped by Roman and the Forever Knight, after regaining consciousness he was originally going to just wait for his daughters to rescue him.
  • Visual Pun: He's a very good father, who clearly loves and worries about his daughters and has a tattoo of a spiked heart on his arm. He has his heart on his sleeve.

    Summer Rose

Summer Rose

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rwby_summerrose_vol_6.png
Ruby and Yang's late mother. She was a huntress and the leader of team STRQ. Unlike canon, she's alive- but just barely.
  • Action Mom: She and Taiyang were both huntsmen; even when he was a teacher, she went out on active assignments.
  • Good Parents: Ruby describes her as a "Super-Mom" and mentions that she baked cookies in addition to hunting monsters, and the entire family was devastated when she didn't return from the mission she was on.
  • Missing Mom: She often went on Huntress missions that took her away from home until, one day, she never returned. Ruby visits her cliff-top grave whenever she can.
  • Not Quite Dead: Revealed in Chapter 48 that she IS alive...just a captive prisoner of Salem.

    Qrow Branwen

Qrow Branwen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vol4op_00013_9.png
An ex-teacher of Ruby's at Signal Academy who taught her how to use her Scythe. He is also Ruby and Yang's uncle. He studied at Beacon as a member of Team STRQ, and by present-day is Ozpin's informant in the wilderness. He also hates Ben. That really isn't important to know, but he just wants to make that known.
  • The Alcoholic: Ben notes he smells of booze.
  • Animal Theme Naming: Like Raven, he's named after corvids.
  • BFS: Harbinger is a huge sword that is almost as tall as he is. It can transform into both a gun and a scythe. The "sword" is actually the scythe's entire blade; when unfolded with the long handle that comes with a scythe form, the weapon is bigger than Qrow.
  • Brutal Honesty: He doesn't hold back his opinions.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: While some characters consider him to be badass, he's...drunk. Like, almost all the time.
  • Clock Punk: Between the blade and handle of Qrow's weapon is a circular mechanism containing visible gears. The gears allow the handle to rotate at angles to the blade, allowing it to activate its sword, gun, or scythe formations. The gears audibly whir whenever the weapon changes form, standing out against the more modern revolving chambers and transformation mechanisms of other weapons in the series.
  • Cool Uncle: He was the teammate of Ruby and Yang's father, and also of the two women who became their mothers, so they both call him "uncle".
  • Dirty Old Man: At least in appearance.
  • Functional Addict: His alcoholism doesn't seem to dull his abilities as a professional Huntsman all that much. He can fight with the best huntsmen, is quick on the uptake, and perceptive. Aside from the occasional bout of severe drinking where he ends up insensible, most of the time he acts like he isn't drunk beyond a slight slur to his speech.

    Raven Branwen

Raven Branwen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raven_branwen_profile.png
Yang's missing mother who appears to Ben in a side chapter.

    Professor Ozpin

Professor Ozpin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ozpin_vol_6_2.png
The headmaster of Beacon Academy, Ozpin is also the leader of a secret international group of huntsmen who protect the world from hidden and dangerous threats. Ozpin uses his cane, named The Long Memory, like a rapier when he fights, making blisteringly quick strikes.
  • Big Good: As Beacon headmaster, he oversees the training of the next generation of fighters.
  • Clock Tower: Beacon Academy's tallest tower and his office, with the clock's face acting as a large window.

    Glynda Goodwitch

Glynda Goodwitch

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/glynda_goodwitch.png
A Huntress and teacher of Beacon Academy that comes to Ruby's rescue in the first episode. A member of Ozpin's secret circle, Glynda fights with a riding crop named Disciplinarian and her Semblance "Telekinesis", which allows her to move objects with her mind and even fix objects that have been broken as if she's rolling back the clock to a pre-broken state.
  • Alliterative Name: An imperfect example as Glynda Goodwitch only produces the same sound when the first name is spoken in a clumsy fashion.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Anna, apparently. Someone insulted the others' writing. In spite, Anna went on to become the best selling author. There are still some very noticeable sparks in the air when they meet.
  • Badass Cape: In opposition to the rest of her attire, Goodwitch wears a black cape with purple lining.
  • Cleavage Window: Due to her high collar, she possesses a very centralized opening in her blouse that exposes some of her cleavage.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Her prim and proper exterior is complimented by her incredibly sharp wit, often snarking at her hyperactive students.
  • Good Is Not Nice: Glynda is a heroine and a professional Huntress, but she has no qualms criticizing her students if they behave badly.
  • Whip of Dominance: Glynda carries a riding crop which acts as both a wand and a means to intimidate her listeners when she needs to punctuate her words for emphasis. Coupled with her messy bun, glasses, stern demeanor, cleavage-exposing pencil-thin dress, and knee-high boots, her appearance carries a Dominatrix overtone.

    Cardin Winchester

Cardin Winchester

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cardin_winchester.png
The leader of team CRDL and a massive asshole.
  • Agony Beam: His Semblance, "Active Burn", can cause a hit to feel like it's burning.
  • Break the Haughty: Ben gives him a Curb-Stomp Battle - once as Diamondhead, the other as a human.
  • The Bully: This to Velvet Scareletina.
  • Butt-Monkey: The series' current holder of this title. So far, he's been beaten up by Diamondhead, punched by Yang, scared by Diamondhead AGAIN, tormented with copies of Diamondhead via Velvet's camera, been stood up on a date by Brianna, beaten up by Kevin, and THEN knocked out
  • Fantastic Racism: Guilty of this to Velvet.
  • Having a Blast: He can generate what's essentially a wave of explosions by slamming his mace on the ground.
  • Smug Snake: Acts like a tough guy when he feels safe, torments other students, and makes their lives as miserable as possible just for fun.
  • Sore Loser: Still seems to have it out for Ben 6 years after their first sparring match.
  • Stood Up: When he asks "Brianna" out in Chapter 50, they say yes just to spite him for not even bothering to learn their name, and reverting back to Ben means that it's impossible. We see the result in Chapter 53.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Cardin gets one in Chapter 66. He realizes differences in this world are of degree, and not of kind. And in war, the only difference that really mattered was who was on his side.
  • Why Did It Haveto Be Snakes: Seems to have a Diamondhead phobia, Velvet is able to intimidate him easily with obvious holograms of said alien.

    Velvet Scarletina

Velvet Scarletina

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/velvet_scarlatina.png
A rabbit Faunus attending Beacon Academy who dabbles in photography.
  • Ascended Extra: One of Ben's friends outside of the Zeta Squad and RWBY groups.
  • Camera Fiend: Velvet will take photos at any opportunity, even when on the battlefield.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Intimidates Cardin into submission with Diamondhead holograms after he insults her again, then takes a photo of his frightened state for good measure.
  • Guile Hero: Velvet is a smart girl. She's perceived as gentle and in need of protection by everyone around her. However, she's not really the shrinking violet everyone thinks she is.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Being a rabbit Faunus, she has a pair of long rabbit ears, which are pulled on by Cardin in her first appearance. She possesses a pair of human ears, too.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Velvet looks like, and on some level is, a Shrinking Violet rabbit Faunus with a gentle demeanor. However, she deliberately plays this appearance up in order to catch people off guard.

    Penny Polendina

Penny Polendina

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/penny_profilepic_2.png
A very odd girl from Atlas. Penny is a participant in the Vytal Festival tournament and a friend of Ruby's. She was accidentally killed by Ceres during the Vytal Festival.
  • Catchphrase: "Sal-u-tations!"
    • Refers to dodgeball as 'Dodge The Ball Then Eliminate Your Enemies With The Ball'.
  • Androids Are People, Too: Penny, for all her weirdness, is portrayed as a conscious person rather than a machine.
  • Cute Bruiser: Played with - she's cute, sure, but her fighting style isn't power-based, possibly. However, she does stop a truck with her own hands.
  • Does Not Know Her Own Strength: Penny tends to be a teensy bit too enthusiastic with showing affection.
  • Idiot Hair: Penny has a single curl of hair sticking upwards from the top of her head. She is an awkward person with a strange way of talking and poor social skills.
  • Kill It with Fire: Her first death.
  • Literal-Minded: Thanks to her naivety, Penny can take statements at face value or misinterpret them.
  • Mistaken for Gay: When she reveals her synthetic nature to Ben, Ruby, and Ceres, her wording initially makes Ceres think that she's trans instead.
  • Never Bareheaded: Penny always wears a bow in her hair, in a half-ponytail style. The bow is always worn at a crooked angle.
  • Ridiculously Human Robot: She identifies herself as fully synthetic, but can generate an Aura and thus has a soul, though this may not have been gained in a typical manner.
  • Robotic Reveal: After stopping a truck with her bare hands in "A Normal Girl", she confesses to not being a real girl, while showing that her hands have metal underneath the skin.
  • Robot Wizard: Only living things can generate Aura, which gives humans who master the power the ability to manifest their power as special abilities that can seem like superhero powers or even magic-like in function. Although Penny is a robot, she is the very first artificial creation that is capable of sustaining an Aura.
  • Stronger Than They Look: Ben notes she has an iron grip when they shake hands.
  • Youthful Freckles: On her cute little face.

    James Ironwood

James Ironwood

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/5054982_6039022823_wood.png
A General in Atlas's military and headmaster of their Huntsman academy, he has a long history with both Ozpin and Glynda. He's also connected to Penny. Ironwood fights with two simple black and white revolvers, the white one called Due Process, to devastating effect.

    Winter Schnee

Winter Schnee

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/winter_jenkins_schnee.png
Weiss's older sister, and the direct subordinate of general Ironwood in the Atlesian military. Cold and aloof, but not above showing concern for Weiss's well-being. She briefly visits Beacon Academy to oversee the transport of additional Atlas security units.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Appears earlier than she did in canon.
  • Cool Big Sis: Weiss is of this opinion, and while Winter can be a bit cold she certainly cares about her sister's personal wellbeing more than anything else.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: To a greater degree than Weiss.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Even though Winter is a bit callous and aloof, she deeply loves Weiss.
  • Number Two: Winter functions as Ironwood's right-hand woman.
  • Prim and Proper Bun: She wears a high bun that is very slightly offset to her left. She's a high-ranking member in the Atlesian military and a stern and professional woman who carries herself with dignity and elegance.

     Coco Adel

Coco Adel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/coco_adel.png
The leader of Velvet's team and fellow Beacon Academy student. She fights with Gianduja, a purse that can transform into a minigun. Her Semblance "Hype" allows her to amplify the explosive power of Dust in an area around her.
  • Briefcase Blaster: Her handbag can transform into a Gatling gun.
  • Combat Stilettos: Her extremely fashionable combat clothing consist of studs, belts and very high heels.
  • Cool Shades: The aspect of her character.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Her skirt cuts to one side and a mysterious strap dangles near her left knee. Her hair also sports a side plait on the right that's orange instead of brown.
  • Hammerspace: Her purse, which is at best one cubic foot, transforms into a minigun.
  • The Leader: Coco is the leader of her four-person team.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Fights mainly at a longer range with her gatling bag, and shows some difficulty when opponents close in on her.

     Fox Alistair

Fox Alistair

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fox_alistair.png
A member of Velvet's team and fellow Beacon Academy student. He uses martial arts to fight with a pair of wrist-mounted blades named Sharp Retribution. His Semblance is short-range telepathy, letting him keep up mental conversations with his allies.
  • Animal Theme Naming: His black, orange and brown color themes, from his hair to his skin and his black-legged, orange-bodied clothing, are reminiscent of the color scheme of a red fox.
  • Aura Vision: To compensate for his blindness, Fox mastered an advanced Huntsman technique to sense the aura of living things, letting him roughly gauge his surroundings based on people or animals he can "see".
  • Covered with Scars: Most of his arms are covered in scars and there's also a vertical scar running down the left side of his mouth.
  • Deadpan Snarker
  • Disabled Snarker: Dude's a blind telepath.
  • Monochromatic Eyes: His eyes are solid white. There's no evidence of differentiation between sclera, irises or pupils.
  • Power Fist: His blades have large metal plates that extend past his arm and seem to serve as knuckle dusters.

     Yatsuhashi Daichi

Yatsuhashi Daichi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yatsuhashi_daichi.png
A Beacon Academy student, he is the tallest member of team CFVY and one of the tallest characters in the show, fighting with a massive zweihander named Fulcrum. His Semblance allows him to induce amnesia, with the effect taking more memories (and taking longer to regain those memories) the longer he can maintain it, although he may only be scratching the surface with his Semblance.
  • Apologetic Attacker: Yatsuhashi is always a little uncomfortable with using his Semblance because he hates messing with people's minds in case something goes wrong. When using it to erase memory, he always apologizes to whomever he's about to influence.
  • BFS: His weapon is a giant, bronze curved sword almost as tall as he is.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: The shoulder armor on his left arm has no counterpart on his right.
  • Gentle Giant: As one of the tallest characters, Yatsuhashi is a huge man.
  • Mundane Utility: One of Yatsu's most common usages of his Semblance is just making his enemies forget the last second or two of the fight, disorienting them.
  • Muscles Are Meaningful: Yatsuhashi is one of the tallest and most muscled characters, and is correspondingly strong.
  • Short Teens, Tall Adults: Most of the teenagers have reasonable heights, but are dwarfed by most of the adults being unusually tall. Yatsuhashi is the exception; at 7'0" tall, he averts the trope and is the 2nd tallest character in the show, right after Hazel who is confirmed to be 8'0" tall.

     Russel Thrush

Russel Thrush

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/russel_thrush_4.png
A member of team CRDL who dual wields daggers called Shortwings.

     Dove Bronzewing

Dove Bronzewing

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dove_bronzewing.png
A member of team CRDL who fights with a gunblade called Hallshott.
  • Boring, but Practical: His weapon is a fairly simple gunblade, but he is very capable with it, deflecting and parrying most of Pyrrha's blows, which is more than can be said for some of his teammates.
  • Eyes Always Shut: He has opened his eyes... once.
  • Let's Fight Like Gentlemen: Knows when he's beat against Rook, so he calmly surrenders to avoid embarassment.
  • Mix-and-Match Weapon: Dove's weapon is one half of a revolver, and one half of a sword.

     Sky Lark

Sky Lark

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sky_lark_4.png
A member of team CRDL, he fights with a halberd named Feather's Edge.

     Flynt Coal

Flynt Coal

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/flynt_profilepic_normal_8.png
A musician with a dislike for the Schnees, and a self-duplication Semblance.
  • Badass Arm-Fold: The first time we see Flynt, when Neon rushes to his side as the fight starts, he has his arms crossed while holding his trumpet in his right hand.
  • Can't Tie His Tie: Though most likely a fashion choice, Flynt keeps his untied necktie around through his collar. No small wonder how it hasn't fallen off yet.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: His Semblance creates three copies of himself to quadruple his stopping power, and each one has a different accent color. However, he is always seen wearing a cyan tie and has a cyan band around his hat, so it's easy to keep track of where the actual Flynt is compared to his copies.
  • Cool Shades: Wide sunglasses that hide most of his eyes, though they are visible when he looks down and over the shades.
  • Crippling Over Specialization: Flynt can do one thing, and one thing only: blast sound waves. Even with his Semblance, he still can't do much more than 'point trumpet, blow trumpet'. The moment his opponents find a way around this, as happened with Weiss and Yang, he starts getting his ass kicked.
  • The Leader: Given his name, of Team FNKI.
  • Self-Duplication: Flynt's Semblance allows him to create three color-coded duplicates of himself, amplifying the power of his sonic attacks. This makes him the third character shown so far able to create a second image of himself, though he's limited to three clones judging by the information Oobleck gives.

    Neon Katt

Neon Katt

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aa4e5b9bb9b029b1451553d5b19af12a300x300x1.png
A hyper-energetic cat Faunus who likes rollerblades. Not shy about dropping insults, Neon skates around the battlefield and uses a pair of nunchaku to deliver painful strikes on her foe.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Her rollerblades give her great mobility in a fight, but skating on uneven ground carries with it the risk of being tripped up. When she is distracted by Yang during their tournament fight, she loses her concentration and ends up falling, allowing Yang to defeat her.
  • Collared by Fashion: She wears a white collar with a bell on it, modeled after a cat's bell collar.
  • Color Failure: Neon's color pallet becomes a muted gray after their defeat, though it quickly comes back once she's gotten over it.
  • Eyelid Pull Taunt: Flashes Yang one of these briefly in their fight.
  • Facial Markings: A small heart under her left eye.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Neon is covered in various accessories that make it easier to count what part of her attire is symmetrical.
  • Flash Step: Neon uses this to beat Yang up in the doubles round.
  • Genki Girl: Neon is an incredibly energetic girl, with a personality to match her vibrant looks and Semblance. Both times she's lost a fight, she's responded by asking the other team to hang out with her.
  • Girlish Pigtails: She has two sets of these: two big, puffy pigtails on each side of her head, and two smaller ones on the back of her head. She's a Genki Girl with a Rainbow Motif, so it fits.
  • An Ice Person: Her nunchucks are energized with Dust, allowing her to use its effects on contact. She prefers ice Dust judging by her use of it on the Grimm and on Yang, further limiting her opponents' mobility in comparison to her own.
  • Little Bit Beastly: She's a cat faunus, having a long tail and a cat smile by default.
  • Punny Name: Try reading her name "Neon Katt" quickly and the sound would be similar to Nyan Cat. She's a cat Faunus who zips around with a rainbow trail, much like the Nyan Cat.
  • Rainbow Motif: Neon leaves a rainbow wake in her path. Even her starry eyes are rainbow gradient!
  • Rollerblade Good: Neon wears a pair of two-wheeled rollerblades, giving her a high amount of mobility around the battle field, though they are vulnerable to rough terrain.

    Clover Ebi

Clover Ebi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cloverinfobox_v7ch4.png
A tall man who is the leader of Ace-Ops. He fights with Kingfisher, a weapon that can be cast and reeled in like a fishing pole.
  • The Ace: Only the best graduates of the Huntsman academy join the Atlesian military. The very best of those join the unit known as the Ace-Operatives, a unit of five people famed throughout the Kingdom of Atlas as being the most talented and gifted Huntsmen in the kingdom. Clover is the leader of this unit and is responsible for keeping the team at their best.
  • Born Lucky: Clover appears to be blessed with charm and surrounds himself with lucky symbols, such as a horseshoe, lucky rabbit's foot, and a badge that is a combination of a four-leaf clover and horseshoe.
  • Exposed to the Elements: Clover's uniform is sleeveless with a v-neck, showing off his muscular shoulders and arms.
  • Good Luck Charm: Clover carries a number of traditional lucky charms on his person, such as a rabbit's foot hanging on his belt and a four-leaf clover framed by a horseshoe on his left breast.
  • Winds of Destiny, Change!: Clover's Semblance brings good fortune. This allows him to shift the potential fate of either himself or others.
