Characters that appear in the Bunnicula books and cartoon series.
Main Characters
Bunnicula
- Adaptational Badass: Bunnicula to an extent. In the books, Bunnicula's vampire traits, apart from his eating habits, were largely an Informed Attribute and left up to the reader's imagination. This show pretty much outright states that Bunnicula is a vampire and suitably gives him some powers such as turning his ears into wings for Flight, detaching his limbs and having them move on their own, and moderate Super-Strength.
- Badass Adorable: Bunnicula, a vampire rabbit who is usually the one to correct the problems in the episode, all while still looking cute as a button.
- Big Eater: The titular rabbit can wolf down a lot of carrots.
- Brought Down to Normal: In "Dreamcatcher" Bunnicula is a normal rabbit without powers inside Mina's dreams, because that's what she thinks he is.
- Dark Is Not Evil: He's a lovable vampire bunny.
- Lovecraftian Superpower: Not even including the powers he can gain from absorbing vegetables and other plants, Bunnicula can take his body apart and sprout tentacles.
- Our Vampires Are Different: Bunnicula, a vampire rabbit that sucks the juices out of vegetables.
- Power-Up Food: Draining certain vegetables or plants gives Bunnicula different abilities:
- Sugarbeets increase his hyperactivity.
- Squash makes one of his feet grow huge.
- Onions make him cry high pressure torrents of water.
- Peppers gives him fire breath.
- Broccoli makes him muscular.
- Baby carrots make him shrink.
- Eggplants turn him into a giant purple egg, which then hatches into a giant three-eyed monster.
- Yams give him the power of invisibility.
- Garlic turns him into a skeleton, but he can restore himself in the manner of zipping up clothing.
- Cacti turn him into a cactus-bunny.
- Prehistoric plants preserved in amber turn him into a prehistoric creature.
- Cacao beans turn him into a chocolate rabbit, and vanilla neutralizes it.
- Catnip turns him into a cat.
- Iceberg lettuce turns him into a snowbunny, and gives him ice breath.
- Blueberries cause him to go into a deep depression.
- Seaweed turns him into a Godzilla Expy.
- Rascally Rabbit: Bunnicula, who often gets into mischief with supernatural consequences.
- Rewatch Bonus: Rewatching "Return of the Curse of the Weredude" knowing that Chester and Patches were only imagining Elvira puts Bunnicula and Harold's earlier reactions in a whole other perspective.
- The Unintelligible: Bunnicula's voice is this, who speaks limited amounts of English on occasion, and usually speaks in unintelligible squeaks which Harold understands.
- Vampiric Draining: Like in the books, Bunnicula eats by draining the fluids from vegetables. Though the show is more overt than the book and different vegetables have different effects on Bunnicula, such as a squash making his foot big.
- Vegetarian Vampire: He doesn't drink blood of animals or people. He only sucks out and drink from vegetables and fruits.
Chester
- Act of True Love: In "Evil Cat Video", when Chester is ordered to scratch Mina by a ghost mouse, his love for Mina is so strong, he manages to stop himself from hurting her.
- Adaptation Species Change: In the original books Chester is a tabby cat. Here he's designed to look like a Siamese, despite his tail not being brown and being slightly bushy.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: In "Evil Cat Video", Chester was turned into a mindless fetal cat and controlled by a ghost mouse that made him do things he never normally would do.
- Butt-Monkey: The show's equivalent to Squidward Tentacles.
- Cats Are Mean: Subverted and kind of Averted with Chester. While he may be bit of a grump and a nervous jerk, he is a Jerk with a Heart of Gold who does care about his family and Mina.
- Cats Are Snarkers: Usually when around Harold being goofy.
- Cat Stereotype: Having the mean trait while Chester is the Jerk with a Heart of Gold who cares about others overall and him having black points or chocolate points on his fur.
- Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: The voice-of-reason to Harold.
- Cowardly Lion: To some extent of being cowardly.
- Eyepatch After Time Skip: In "Legend of the Lucky Locket", he will wear an eye-patch covering his right eye in the future.

Harold
- Adaptational Dumbass: Harold in the original books/novels was an laid-back, scruffy, and loving older dog that was under the Monroe's care and spent afternoons on the sofa. In the Cartoon Network adaption, he is more of an goofball than his previous portrayals.

- Formerly Fat: In the future, he will no longer be fat and becomes muscular.
- Fun Personified: Very cheery, happy-go-lucky, lighthearted and loving to have a fun time.
- Genius Ditz: He may be an not-so-bright goofball, but he is capable of performing tons of skills whenever cooperative or not and can communicate what unintelligible dialouge Bunnicula is saying to Chester and the viewer.
- Intelligible Unintelligible: Can easily translate what Bunnicula is saying, for comical effect or not.
- Kindhearted Simpleton: Not the sharpest dog around who can be very ignorant with Chester's situations, but loves & cares for his friends regardless of his blunders and foolery.
- Weirdness Magnet: Can be prone to this when suffering or out of his control like "Wag the Dog" where Harold's tail came to life to manipulate his body while Harold himself becomes the tail in a villainous manner, this was fortunately backfired.

- The Confidant: In the "Scott Free" episode, he figures out Bunnicula's secret before getting amnesia but becomes smarter because of being able to talk to the pets. When he is cured and returns to normal, he still knows Bunnicula's secret and understands the pets, but he promises to keep it safe.
- Insecure Love Interest: He appears to have a shy side when it comes to liking Mina back, as he was worried when he sent a flirty emoji to his crush Mina Monroe and thought she might get the wrong idea, not knowing she likes him as well.

- Ship Tease: With Mina in Season 1 and 2 while he is Marsha's love-interest

- Affectionate Parody: Fluffy is a parody of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
- Determinator: Fluffy always seems to be very diligent and focused on her job at hand. She tends to get annoyed when anyone gets in her way (e.g Harold) or a plan she has fails. More than likely, finishing her tasks at hand is all she worries about.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Fluffy initially hated all monsters and was resolved to hunt them down. To that end, she tried to hunt down Bunnicula throughout the episode, until realizing he cares about his family. From this display of affection, that Fluffy sees not all monsters are evil.

- Freudian Excuse: He adored Fluffy and started a fan club for her, sending her many letters. However, she ignored the letters and then, he became an villainous vampire.

- Mellow Fellow: Quite an carefree pup.
- Our Werewolves Are Different: Well, Chester's the only one who thinks so, but the only "evidence" he has of his theory that Howie is a dachshund/werewolf hybrid are his unusually loud, spooky howls (which he shares with his parents).
- Pungeon Master: Definitely enjoys his puns, largely of the incredibly lame variety, much to Chester's aggravation.
