And The Fandom Rejoiced: Western Animation
The fans can go absolutely nuts about their favourite cartoons and the casting of voice actors.

  • This trailer for Batman The Brave And The Bold.
  • The Super Hero Squad Show? Yawn...must be Marvel Comics' attempt to cash in like The Brave And The Bold...WOAH! Look at Cast who's voicing who!
  • Another Spider-Man cartoon? After that Conspicuous CG show on MTV— What? It's being supervised by Greg Weisman? Oh hell yes!!
  • Godzilla: The Series: "What? A cartoon version of the American Godzilla movie? This is going to su- Is he fighting other monsters? Atomic breath?! Holy crap, this is gonna be awesome!"
  • Transformers Animated? Looks rather half-assed if you ask me and— wait, David Kaye as OPTIMUS PRIME?! Yeeessss...
    • Still images of the character designs showed up on the internet long before it premiered, which was met with near universal disdain. Then at Comic-Con they showed the opening sequence (later cut down in length) that showed those designs in motion along with a cool updating of the original theme. What was proven is that this show has people Running the Asylum, with more Mythology Gags than can barely be contained on one location.
    • In particular when fans spotted a glimpse of the dinobots!!
  • "Turtles Forever? Sounds like it's gonna be a bad movi- Wait a second, are those the 1987 Turtles? Awesome!" is probably what many a fan said when they found out it's a crossover.
    • And the fact movie favorites Tokka and Rahzar are also making an appearance as well.
    • The original Mirage Turtles.
  • Ben 10: Ultimate Alien: Wait, is that every one of Ben's forms from the original series?
    • Oh, there's Kevin. Holy crap, did he turn evil again!?
    • Time Travel episode again? Yawn. Wait, Paradox and Ben 10,000!? And he has an ULTIMATE HUMAN FORM!?
  • Total Drama Island is making a season three? With two newcomers that are just Expies of older ones? Aw man, as if season two didn't suck enou- Wait. Noah and Cody are back?! The writers do care!
  • Cartoon Network: "Wait! A Looney Tunes marathon! There's hope!" And to a lesser extent, this article.
    • Speaking of Cartoon Network, the news that Samurai Jack will finally see a proper ending in the form of a theatrical film after CN left it lying in the dust. The movie will be produced by J. J. Abrams.
    • "More bad new shows? Oi, when will Cartoon Network learn...Wait a second, Adventure Time? Sign. me. UP."
    • Regular Show is good too.
    • Don't forget Generator Rex, created by the same guys behind Ben10!
      • And for Generator Rex in particular, there are four words that sum it up: "Great. Breach is back."
    • So the Nood era finally came to Latin America...Wait, they're Toonix now? Better music? Individual bumpers? Latin America gets all the fun indeed! Wow!
      • They still suck. Some cartoons are really stupid and are nothing compared to good old 90s Cartoon Network. What's that? A new channel? What's its name? Tooncast? Oh, well, if we didn't already have enough with Boomerang and its sucky soap oper— WHAT?! They host all the 90s cartoons? EVEN THE ADS?! And they have Dexter's Laboratory?! *Squee**
  • Wait, a NEW THUNDERCATS SHOW on Cartoon Network?! YEEEEEEEEES!!!
  • Some fans were worried that the new expanded Justice League roster in Unlimited would make it impossible to spotlight some of the lesser characters. And then The Question showed up.
    • A Birds of Prey episode of Justice League featuring The Question with pieces taken from the excellent Batman/Huntress: Cry for Blood miniseries is already pretty cool. But add Glenn Shadix as the giant, albino mobster and Gail Simone writing the script, and you're almost perfect. And then it referenced Garth Ennis's Hitman.
    • And then there was the episode where they fight a nanotech space probe by using a BFG in an episode written by Warren Ellis with John C McGinley as The Atom.
    • On a similar note, after the apparent 'death' of the Teen Titans series, there was much outcry in the fandom for another season that might be more true to the team's origins, an- Young Justice is a series now?!?! With Greg Weisman at the helm too?! SWEET!!!
      • And from that show itself, we have Bruce Greenwood as Batman again, along with several producers from the same direct to DVD masterpiece. Then the designer of costumes from Crisis on Two Earths is attached to the series, to much approval.
  • Nickelodeon applies for a trademark for The Legend Of Korra? Let's celebrate and wildly speculate on what the series could be about!
    • As of now people are really going wild with the official announcement. An Avatar sequel featuring the next avatar as a female protagonist set in a Steampunk city being taught airbending by Aang's son; Most people were pleased.
    • Breaking news: Dante Basco, the voice of Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender, will voice a "surprise" character.
    • Also, the number of episodes has been expanded from 12 to 26. Let the rejoicing begin!
    • More breaking news: A new Avatar comic book has been announced following the breakout success of the artbook. Apparently it will contain comics following the Gaang's postwar adventures! Mere hours after this was announced, fan communities all across the Internet exploded with excitement.
    • The changes in fashion were cautiously accepted as realistic progression considering how much fashion trends varied widely in real life. Then, someone showed up wearing a fedora.
    • Steve Blum is voicing the Big Bad, Amon.
  • Nicktoons has been so bad about airing its classics....wait, did Ka Blam! get a big boom on YouTube? YES!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!
  • MTV has been terrible for a while now, with all its reality shows and lack of music. There are no redeeming qualities for that netwo- Beavis And Butthead are returning with new episodes?! And they're bringing back the music video segments? Cue Hell freezing over now.
  • "They're doing a movie based on Superman/Batman: Public Enemies? Well, okay, I guess. Whoa, they got Kevin Conroy back as Batman, Tim Daly back as Superman, and Clancy Brown back as Lex Luthor?! And C.C.H. Pounder is once again voicing Amanda Waller?! This is gonna be good!"
  • A new My Little Pony series? Well considering how lame the latest couple of adpations has been it probably isn't going to be anything specia — wait, Lauren Faust is in charge of it?!?
    • A second season is coming out? AND THEY ASKED WEIRD AL YANKOVIC TO VOICE ACT??? FUCK YES
      • A new My Little Pony promo? Meh, just some girly crap because Hasbro and The Hub just can't acknowledge the older fa- wait...is this a parody of "California Girls"? That's way out of the target demographics range. I wonder if they do know? Nah, probably no-WAIT!? Did he just say "bronies", and "DJ PON-3"!!!!?? Hasbro and the Hub also sent a letter to Equestria Daily!? Plus they also clarified about when the spot will premiere!!?? YES!!! WE, THE BRONIES, ARE KNOWN!! BROHOOFS TO HASBRO AND THE HUB!! MAJOR BROHOOFS!!!
    • Hmm. The internet is obsessed with My Little Pony. Too bad it's not i- Wait, it's showing on Boomerang in the UK? Maybe one episode...
    • Season 2 will be more appealing to specifically bronies? Sign me up.
      • ALRIGHT, John de Lancie is going to be playing a VILLAIN. And he is playing a god-like trickster who takes joy in personally messing with people? Approval.
    • For fans of the regular My Little Pony the addition of colts and stallions was this, since G3 infamously lacked them. As was going back to action based plots and having antagonists. The colors are similar to G1 too. What probably made fans most happy was the inclusion of Unipegs in canon.
    • Princess Luna, a character who got one minute of screen time and one line of dialogue in the second episode, not only returning after a year-long absence, but also getting her own focus episode. This was especially important since her absence had created her own fanbase.
    • What's that? Rainbow Dash refers to the grey pegasus as "Derpy"? She has a voice?!?!? And the fanbase goes BATSHIT FUCKING INSANE. See for yourself.*
    • The cherry on top of the whole season is DJ PON-3 appearing again in the finale, and finally shows of her eyes!!!
    • Man, this show is awesome, but the toys are lame! I don't think they'll ever make anything worth— HOLY SHIT, TOYS OF NIGHTMARE MOON, TRIXIE, ZECORA, LYRA, AND DJ PON-3?!
      • AND, AND, AND CELESTIA IS FINALLY WHITE?
    • Recently, John De Lancie has confirmed that he's done more voice work for MLP. Let the "Au Contraire, Mon Capitan! Heee's back!" memes commence!
  • Oh, Nick's never gonna bring Ka Blam back-wait a minute? IS THAT JULIA MCILVAINE DOING VOICES ON MAD?!??! SQUEEEEEEEE!
    • Man, Nick never acknowledges the existance of Ka Blam...wait, THE SHOW'S GOING TO BE PART OF THE `90S ARE ALL THAT!? FINALLY! *
  • G.I. Joe: Renegades? Looks like-HOLY @#!? Clancy Brown as Destro!!!!!!
  • The new Green Lantern show is a CGI space opera teaming Hal Jordan and Kilowog as intergalactic buddy cops, from the people behind Batman The Animated Series and Avatar The Last Airbender. There is nothing about this that's not awesome.
  • Swat Kats is being released on DVD? Swat Kats?! After all the effort they put in burying it in the Hanna Barbera vault to be forgotten? I don't care that it isn't being remastered, and is only available on-demand, THE RADICAL SQUADRON IS BACK!
    • Speaking of, I wonder what happened to those rumors of a revival series in the works. Ah, well, guess they were just tha- What's this? Emails from the creators? Confirmation of a remake in the works? OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE LET THIS NOT BE A HOAX!
  • Yeah, but what other cartoons are in that Warner archive collection? Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space? Give me a break! You're wasting good plastic on the Dukes of Hazzard cartoon? Wait... the Dragon's Lair cartoon? Maybe... The Pirates of Dark Water?? THE SUPERSTARS 10 MOVIES THEY NEVER AIR ON BOOMERANG????!!!!! HERE'S MY CREDIT CARD!!!!!
  • Transformers Prime. Well, it looks kind of dumb. Huh? Steve Blum is Starscream? That's cool but no one can replace Chri- Jeffery Combs is Ratchet?! Still neat but......Dwayne Johnson is Cliffjumper! Cool! Maybe I'll give it a shot if it comes on, but.....OH MY LORD!!! FRANK WELKER AND PETER CULLEN ARE BACK!!! I AM SO WATCHING THIS!!!
    • The Dinobots are slated to appear at some point during Season 2.
  • It's been so long since Disney aired their old cartoons...hey, IS THAT 101 DALMATIANS: THE SERIES ON THE DISNEY CHANNEL!? WE MIGHT BE SAVED!
    • Similarly, Nick has announced they're going to air their entire 90s lineup.
  • Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island. The trailers on Cartoon Network and in the Warner videos sparked interest. The dark, forboding opener of a castle in a thunderstorm - meh, seen it before. Then a monster rips open doors to reveal...Fred, Velma and Daphne - together for the first time in more than 15 years. Thirty seconds later, that oh so beautiful theme song plays - and there was no doubt the Dork Age was over and Scooby Doo was BACK.
  • Nearly 5 years after its cancellation Futurama was revived in the form of 4 DVD movies. When an entire new series was announced not long after (to air on Comedy Central, no less, and not on the dreaded Fox), the reaction was vastly enthusiastic. Until Fox announced that they were looking for replacements for the original voice cast. They soon changed their mind. Rumor has it the announcement was just a move in the salary negotiation.
  • Man, it sucks that the last season of The Boondocks was the end. I'll go ahead and turn on the Ricky Smiley radio show...oh, hey, that's Granddad! That's pretty nea— DID HE JUST SAY AARON MCGRUDER IS WORKING ON SEASON 4? HELL YES!!!
  • There's a new Pound Puppies cartoon on The Hub? Meh, I'm probably not going to watch it- wait - created by Paul and Joe? I'm going to have to check this out.
  • Oh geez, The Ren & Stimpy Show is back? Let me guess, it's more Bob Camp and Games Studio quality...WAIT JOHN K IS FINALLY RETURNING AND ALLOWED TO WORK ON HIS SHOW AGAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 13 YEARS?! AND IT'S ACTUALLY A GROWN UP VERSION OF THE SHOW FOR ALL OF THE ORIGINAL FANS TO COMPLETE WITH EDGY CONTENT LIKE SOUTH PARK AND FAMILY GUY? YES YES YES!
  • Man, Generator Rex and Ben 10 are both such awesome shows. It'd be awesome if they had a Crossover...wait, they are?! And MAN OF ACTION is doing it?!
  • So, The Avengers will get a second chance at having an animated TV show...starring IRON MAN, CAPTAIN AMERICA, and THOR? About time!
    • Hey look, the title for the second season premiere leaked online..."The Private War of Dr. Doom"? Sounds awesome!
    • It looks like Carol Danvers has begun her transformation into Ms. Marvel, but I wonder how often we'll see her next seas-she'll actually join the Avengers? My wish came true!
    • Oh sweet, a trailer for season 2! Hey, is that Vision? And Super-Skrull? And Red Hulk?!? And Black Panther's classic Badass Cape? This is gonna be mind-numbingly awesome.
    • Let's check out the synopses for April's episodes. It's been 10 months since the first season finale, so they better not disappoint. On Easter, the Avengers will team up with...War Machine? Finally! Then at the end of the month, an adaptation of "To Steal an Ant-Man"? I wonder if this means we'll see Scott Lang. (They did.)
    • And then, this little screenshot appeared. The complete Fantastic Four, Spider-Man (after reportedly suffering from some sort of Spider-Ban for several years), Luke Cage, and Iron Fist! And that might not be all of them!
  • "Justice League: Doom: A loose adaptation of "Tower of Babel"? It might be good. Holy crap, just like the Superman/Batman movies, Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy, and Susan Eisenberg are back in their respective roles as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman?! And this time, Michael Rosenbaum and Carl Lumbly are back in the respective roles of the Flash and the Martian Manhunter as well?! And Nathan Fillion is once again Green Lantern?! And It's being done by TMS Entertainment?! "YES, I AM WATCHING THIS!!!"
  • Man, remember the days of Toon Disney before that stupid Disney XD came along? I miss it so- wait...is that...Recess on Disney XD? YES!
  • Yet another Spider-Man show? Like it's ever gonna top Spectacular Spider-ManWait, Paul Dini is working on it? Things might be looking up...
  • Cartoon Network's new DC Nation block caught a few eyes with announcements that Lauren Faust is working on a series of shorts (Super Best Friends Forever), brand new Teen Titans shorts, and the Plastic Man TV Show finally being made (though likely in short format). The trailer can be found here.
  • After promoting the hell out of them, Dude, What Would Happen? and Destroy Build Destroy ARE FINALLY GONE!!!*
  • Ugh, Cartoon Network's celebrating their 20th anniversary and those live-action-loving jackasses are going to do nothing about the old sho—wait did Andy Merill say they might reboot Cartoon Planet?!?!? (Go to 5:54 for proof!)
    • Greater news, Cartoon Network will host a Friday night block of classics hosted by Brak and Zorak! OUR PRAYERS HAVE FINALLY BEEN ANSWERED!!! Starts March 30th at 8pm. And they're bringing back I Am Weasel and EVIL. CON. CARNE.
    • Adding to that, even though it was an April Fools joke, Adult Swim had a block of TOONAMI! MORE PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED! EVEN IF ONLY FOR ONE NIGHT!
  • Daria was one of the few really good shows MTV released. Figures that they'll treat it like crap... Wait, a DVD release, after ten years? FINALLY!

    • HOLY CRAP! THEY'RE ALSO AIRING PB&J OTTER, WHICH HAS BEEN TREATED LIKE DIRT SINCE 2004?! I'll. Buy. That. TV. Package. Again.
      • No. No they're not. Though they are airing Stanley, a program by the same company and many of the same people, which went off around the time that Otter did.
  • Xiaolin Showdown is coming back. XIAOLIN SHOWDOWN IS COMING BACK.
  • Cartoon Network airing Wallace & Gromit for the first time in years.
  • Cartoon Network actually acknowledging its 20th anniversary with bumpers with CLASSIC HANNA-BARBERA CHARACTERS. AND A THROWBACK TO THE POWERHOUSE LOOK!!! Say it with me now: SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
  • Nickelodeon's making a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon with the guy from American Pie, sounds interesting. Wait Donatello and Michelangelo have bladed weapons now, thats...kinda cool, Mae Whitman as April, nice. Wait Rob Paulsen is in it, sweet. And Greg Cipes as Michelangelo AWESOME. Wait who's shredder? KEVINMICHAELRICHARDSON?!.
  • They're finally releasing Tiny Toon Adventures How I Spent My Vacation on DVD!
  • When CBeebies changed their extremely popular preschool-targeted series Waybuloo by shortening the length, adding a narrator, and eliminating the yogo segments (yogo being a gentle form of yoga), the reaction was predictable and immediate. Parents took to the BBC's message boards in droves complaining that neither they nor their children liked the new format. The BBC restored the program the very next, resulting in happy shouts of "Buloo!" from children. (On the program, when the characters reach a state of great contentedness, they shout "Buloo!" and float in the air.)
